Problems printing email

Any ideas on how I can print out an email? If I try to print directly, save as pdf or click to preview I get the same problem. the header prints along with about four lines of the body, then it's blank. The final line is actually cut off horizontally - the bottom part of the letters are missing. FWIW, it seems to save fine as an rtfd file.
OSX 10.3.9
Mail 1.3.11
Thanks,
John

Hi,
ePrint will default to printing photos from the photo paper tray at 6x4 and documents from the plain paper tray. Unfortunately, eprint via e-mailed content like this is limited to the print options above.
In order to increase flexability in terms of print options, I suggest downloading the HP eprint app and use this to print. Both the printer and device using the eprint app will need to be on the same wifi network for this to work so you won't be able to use it remotely (like with the e-mailed eprint option).

Maverick Mail Printing Problem: prints email header on separate page from body of email.  Why?!

For what it's worth, I can report exactly the same problem.  I just recently converted from Outlook for Mac 2011 to Mail.  I did the conversion while running Yosemite.  I like pretty much everything about Mail EXCEPT that it take 2 pages to print a 1 page email!!  The header appears on the top of p.1, followed by a blank space.  The message begins at the top of p.2.
If you scale it down, you can get the message to begin to appear on the bottom of p.1, but clearly, Mail is inserting BIG SPACE between the header and the message.  Changing the display fonts for Mail had no apparent effect (except that the font DID change, of course)....still a BIG SPACE between the header and the message.
Coming to Mail for the first time, I would have assumed that this was just a quirk of Mail, but am I understanding that some of you Mail users out there USED TO NOT have this problem??  I think it's pretty clear that it's Mail that's causing the problem, not the message, because I went over to my old Outlook and printed the same couple of messages with no such space between the header and the message.  So Mail is inserting a space into the print formatted email message that is NOT there in Outlook's print formatted same message.
Be really nice to get rid of this problem, but my Apple Care free support has expired.  Not sure I want to pay for something that's generic to Mail!!  Anyone else made any progress on this?

  • Problem printing emails from iPhone

My iPhone can print emails wirelessly, but my husband's iPhone can print photos, but not emails. His iPhone is set up with ePrint and is on the 'allowed emails list'.  We can't figure out why the Print option does not appear when his emails are open, as it does with my emails.  Can anyone help?

The steps below typically resolve the issue you’re experiencing:
    1. Power off the printer.
    2. Completely power off the iOS devices (hold the Sleep and Home buttons simultaneously until a message appears asking you to "Slide to power off". Slide across that bar, and it should completely power off).
    3. Power the printer back on.
    4. Power the iOS devices back on.
    5. Try to print again.
Those steps usually resolve the issue. If they do not, try this additional steps:
    6. Power cycle your router (usually done by unplugging the router’s power cord, waiting 20 seconds, and plugging it back in).
    7. Make sure that the iOS devices and the printer are all connected to the same network, then try to print.
If I have SOLVED your issue, please feel free to provide KUDOS and make sure you mark this thread as SOLUTION PROVIDED!

  • I am having a problem printing emails from my Hotmail account when I am using Mozilla Firefox as my browser. When I click on the Print icon above the email and then proceed to print, the output on my Canon Pixma 830 printer is in extremely small type.

I am not sure about all those installed plugins you have listed below.
I know that I can always copy the text of my email and paste it into a Word file to be printed, but that is a hassle, and the output is not quite the same as when I print directly from the Web.

Did you check what I would consider the first place to look:

  • Problem with printing emails with IOS 7.

I installed IOS 7 on my iPad 2 and now have problems printing emails. They come out in a very large print, even if I have disabled 'Larger Print' in Accessibility and have chosen a small print size.  There was no such problem with IOS 6.  What shall I do to get back a normal print size?  Can Apple help please?

  • After an automatic update yesterday, I can only print email (Outlook Express 6) headers but the messages do not print

After an automatic update yesterday, I started having problems printing emails from Outlook Express 6. The headers (e.g. To, From, Subject) print, but the messages do not print.

Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there. <br />
    ''A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.'' <br />
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
    * You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running. <br />
''Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."''
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.''
If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

I have the same problem and have been following the progress with interest
I reduced Adobe to 6.17 but was loath to reduce Flash from 10.1 because of the risk of access
Reduced FF to 2 as well which helped initially but then the crashes because non-stop - as soon as it reloaded it crashed again. I had already removed anything from my program list that I didn't use very often and that could potentially interfere with FF.
Even threw eBay Turbolister overboard as I have had trouble with that in the past!
None of this frantic jettisoning helped one whit, and now the PC is crashing even without FF being running! Very disturbing
It runs fine in safe mode so I think I can discount a hardware problem
Was definitely FF to start as got the usuas FF error messages.
Now FF seems to have been erased so?

I am using Firefox ver. 3.0.19 and I have Windows 7 which came with a new computer. When I use Firefox as a browser I cannot print my emails. I get an error message: "pcfax not availabe". If I use IE I have no problem printing the emails.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== From day 1 with the new computer about two weeks ago.

It sounds like you have the wrong printer selected.
When you get the Print window, pick another printer from your printer dropdown. You seem to have a fax printer selected instead of a physical printer.

  • Having problems printing using ePrint from email with an SMTP transmission failure

I am having a problem printing from my Apple devices (iPhone, iPad (both running iOS 5), Mac Book Pro and iMac (Lion)) from my Mobile me account (Apple's @me.com mail). My printer is a D110a and is up-to-date. The return error message I'm getting is attached. The printer is working fine as a wireless printer but whenever I try to email something to the ePrint printer address (@hpeprint) I get this message. While I wasn't a heavy user of emailing to this printer, I did have it working. I cannot say if this is a supported path or not, but I have a few thoughts about what you are doing. I have done a few prototypes that would send emails programatically to eprint printers.
    1. do you recieve the email if you send it to a different address (your email address) - you said the email is making it out of the server, but does it make it to destinations.
    2. can you try this with your own printer that has an hp connected account? this would make it easier to troubleshoot.
    3. hpconnected has the idea of open to anyone or allowed senders only. depending on how your customer has their printer setup, you could be blocked by the service because of those settings. with those options, they also have the option to block users or allow users to either of those settings.
3a. login to hpconnected.com, select devices, look at the device being printed to, and there is a column for ePrint Access that will say 'Allowed Senders Only' or 'Open to Anyone'. going to the settings for a printer will give more details about these settings, and allow you to manage blocked / allowed users.
More info under 'Manage ePrint Preferences' on this doc:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c03550522&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
    4. I believe that in hpconnected, you can look at collections and it will show all recieved jobs - which would allow them to be printed again. I think this will list received jobs from email.
    I work for HP.

  • I cannot fully print email from my aol account. If I open AOL, I do not have the problem

There is a problem printing lengthy email n Firefox. If I open the email in my AOL account, there is no problem

    Hello,
All dot.Mac and Dot.Me account have migrated to iCloud.
You should have been given details of expiry for the .Mac account to iCloud. Apple have now shut .Me and .Mac account for web access.

  • Printing emails that contain barcode

    My husbands computer info:
    HPE-170t  bought in 2010 (I think)
    Operating System 64-bit
    Windows 7 HOme Premium
    ServicePack 1
    Internet Explorer (latest version)
485 GB FREE of the 687 GB (Used 202GB)
    Printers:
    HP 8600 All In One
    HP M401 Laser
Wireless:  Cox Cable (top of the line speed....up to 50)
Problem (NOT the first time this has happened but certainly time to ask questions)
My husband received an email (Yahoo-free email) from PF Changs that he responded to in order to receive a coupon for $10 off a $40 meal.  He received the coupon and it had a barcode on it.  "no forwards or duplications allowed".  When he tried to print the coupon, the coupon printed but WITHOUT the barcode.  (Just an "x" in a box)....but, could still SEE the barcode on the computer screen.
He wrote PF Changs......who sent him a direct link to the coupon with the barcode (with their apologies, of course).  Same problem.  Will print the coupon but no barcode PRINTED. (This may be because PF Chang's  program recognizes that his email has already been used for a coupon?  Don't know!)
    Things tried to fix:
I tried several things to fix the issue but the only thing that worked to get the barcode was to PrtScrn and paste to a WORD document and then print the WORD document.  I am sure that PF Changs won't accept that form of barcode.  Regardless, we still have the issue of getting the computer to send the entire information to the printer.
He sent me the original email that I then clicked on and requested a coupon.  I received the coupon in MY email (Yahoo-paid service) and it printed without any problem.  I have a DELL computer.
He also sent me the email that HE recieved with the barcode in it.  I could also print THAT one.  However, his original email that he sent to me with the barcoded coupon, now shows up with "x" in the box. (forwards not allowed, so I think this wipes HIS coupon out.)
We are using the same wireless, same email provider (Yahoo)  and the same printers. (HP8600)
He is ready to throw out his HP computer but I think it is a setting that I can't figure out which to change.  He has had problems several times with Adobe Reader, PDF, and printing emails....and windows that won't open at all.
    Any ideas?

To make the icon the default view of attachements, do the following:
Use the Terminal to set the preference.
Terminal is in Applications>Utilities. Open Terminal and type:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool yes
That will make every attachment you send act like an attachment instead of a pretty unusable decoration.
If you decide this isn’t what you’re looking for, to restore inline attachment viewing type:
defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing -bool false
Restart Mail and you’re back to normal.
Please tell me if that worked for you!

  • How can I print emails without losing the right side of message Windows Vista 6.0 Photosmart C6830

When I print email messages, right side of message lines do not print (run out of space) on a Photosmart C6830 using Windows Vista Home Version 6.0.  Have tried highlighting message to print & choosing (selection) in print window - does not solve problem.

The print spooler is a windows service and is required to print. I would hazard a guess you can not print with any application.
What I am saying is I think your windows instalation has a problem, not Thunderbird.
