Problems publishing to a non-mobile me URL/host - HELP!!

Hi,
I'm using iweb 08 and having major problems posting my site to my hosting service. I'm using BlueHost with a godaddy URL and the problems are not on their end. I'm using Easy iWeb publisher 5.0.1 to upload it and gives me could not upload errors every time. The files it has errors with change a lot and I know it's not my files because I have successfully uploaded my site a few times (after 30 tries or so.) I need to update my site but I can't seem to get thru the upload process. Also it takes FOR EVER to upload. Please help! my url is benwolan.com

Try a different ftp client. The free CyberDuck is well though of in this forum.

It seems to publish fine but when i go to my site after it publishes it, safari can not find my site. I am unable to click on the view site button (only directly after the upload when it asks me).     No, its not strange at all. When you set up a MobileMe account and publish a site from iWeb it publishes to your iDisk, which is your Apple server that host your site.
    Your url for an iWeb published site to MobileMe will be http://web.me.com/username/sitename. You don't actually need the sitename if you only have one site, so as OT has said http://web.me.com/username.
    No - reggie88.com is not your username, this is a domain name. www.reggie88.com is a domain name also, not a MobileMe username. Have you actually gone to a domain name registrar and registered a domain name? If you want to use a domain name with MobileMe, then you need to go and purchase one first from a domain name registrar.
    No - iWeb does not tell you in iWeb that you username is www.reggie.com. The only way that iWeb will have this at the bottom, is if you have logged into your MobileMe account and gone to the Personal Domain name settings section and entered a personal domain into here. Log into your MobileMe account and check whether you have done this - this is the only reason why iWeb will display this.
    Next question, do you actually own or have you purchased a domain name - reggie88.com? If you have, then you can use this domain with a MobileMe account, but there are other steps that you need to go through first to link the two.
    In the meantime, find your site by entering the url http://web.me.com/username which in your case is probably going to be http://web.me.com/reggie88 and you should get to your site.

  • How to Direct People to our New Non-Mobile Me Website urls?

    I've had a website using iWeb and .Mac/Mobile Me since day 1. I've spent a great deal of time porting my site over to RapidWeaver and I will be hosting version 2 of my site using Host Excellence. My question is this: How is every one with Mobile Me sites going to redirect users to their new sites which will now have a different URL? It seems to me this is the reverse of Domain Forwarding. With Domain Forwarding you buy one or more new  urls and people going to that new url get forwarded onto to your actual existing site. This is the reverse. People may try use the old url and we all have new hosts and new urls. The problem here is we technically don't own our Mobile Me urls. So what happens to everyone in 10 months or less when we've had to move our websites? How do people find the new sites if they only have the old Mobile Me url?
    Personally I think Apple should have to redirect people to our new sites since they are pulling the rug out from under us. You can stop laughing now, since I don't seriously think this will ever happen. But what is the way of redirecting people using the old url to our new sites?

    See Method 2 of the Redirection section of Roger Wilmut's site: Migrating from MobileMe page 2.  You can use SEO Tool to add the code to every page of your site on MMe.  Each page will redirect to it's identical sister page in the site on your new hosting server. SEO Tool would have to do it one page at a time.
    Or you could use the free TextWrangler to batch edit every html file in your site folder on MMe at one time with it's multifile Find & Replace capability.

    According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when you access the mobile URL for SharePoint site.
    I recommend to append "?Mobile=1" to the end of the URL of the SharePoint site
    to access the mobile view to see if the issue still occurs, such as
    http://MyServer/MySite/default.aspx?Mobile=1.
    If the error still occurs, I recommend to check if the mobile view is activated for SharePoint.

  • How to register non-wsdl based URL in OEG

    How do we register a non-wsdl based URL endpoint in OEG? We had no problem registering a simple WSDL based endpoint on an OEG server. However we cannot find documentation on how to secure/register a RESTful or JSON – URL based service (SOAP, XML over HTTP type service).
    Does this functionality exist? Or are there best practices on what to do with OEG for these types of services?
    Our use case looks like:
    Akamai - - > OEG - -> OSB (WSDL, RESTful, JSON type web services) - -> .Net service (WSDL, RESTful, JSON type web services)

    In case of REST and other non-WSDL type services, there is no SOAP/WSDL based web service like registration process, you'd use OEG as the proxy. You can receive REST based requests at OEG, retrieve parameters (there are convenience filters available for retrieval of attribute values and other types of REST related functions in OEG, as part of the Policy library, "Extract REST Request Attribute", "Validate REST filter", "Create REST Request" etc. - search for REST at the top using Policy Studio, drag it on to canvas and click help for docs on these filters) and do the routing to actual REST end point services. You have the option to receive and use the SOAP message as a basis of generation of the REST url.

    On use with JSON: you can convert XML to JSON on the outbound side to serve mobile clients etc. using script based(standard XSLT) conversions at the gateway. Conversions to Java using google gson library is also an option.
    To register a REST service, simply map the path (e.g. "/MyRESTService") to the policy you're using to process the REST request.
    Let's say you want to simply route a REST request through OEG (e.g. - to OSB). You would create a policy (right-click on "Policies" and add it). Drag in a "Static Router" filter and place in it the hostname and port of the host you want to route to (e.g. - to OSB). Then right-click on it and choose "Set as start" so that it is the first thing which is processed for this REST request. Then drag in a "Connection" filter, and chain it (using a green arrow) after the Static Router filter. The "Connection" filter actually makes the connection to the backend host.
    Now, map the path (using "Add Relative Path") to the service so that if a REST request to "/MyRESTService" or "/MyRESTService/something" comes into OEG, it is routed on to the backend host.
    Deploy your policy (using F6 or the "deploy" button on the Policy Studio toolbar). Then send in your REST request.
    There is actually already a simple REST service setup on OEG, called "healthcheck". If you point a browser to http://<OEG_IP_ADDRESS:8080/healthcheck" then this is run.
    If the backend REST service returns JSON, the response JSON will simply be sent back through OEG.

  • Problem publishing to Connect pro server

    Okay here is the problem.
    I have embedded some .swf files into captivate and got them to work.  (that was a real drama)
    Now the problem is when I upload captivate to my hosted connect pro server it does not play the embedded content.
    Can anyone help with that?

    My guess is that even though you "Embedded" the files, they still need to exist in the same folder location in order for Captivate to play them. I'm assuming you have already looked at Edit > Preferences > Project > Publish Settings and you are certain none of the check boxes have been selected for Externalizing the resources.
    Aside from that, my only suggestion would be that I understand Connect Pro doesn't really behave like a typical server you may encounter. But it does allow you to upload different files. Each file then receives its own unique URL after you upload it. So perhaps you can upload the individual SWF files, then determine their respective URLs. Once you know their URLs, use their URLs in Captivate as the reference. Once you do this, I believe Captivate will then be able to locate and play the SWF.

  • Mobile BI (MoBI): Using 3.0, what is the default Mobile Server URL?

    We are attempting to set up a basic demo of MoBI for our BOXI 3x environment.  We did our best to follow the install steps and were able to successfully push down the app to the device.  The problem we are having is 'Network Unavailable' errors when attempting to login.
    First, we are not sure how to troubleshoot the error.  Second, we are not sure we have the correct Mobile Server URL configured.  Ideally, we would like to "pre-configure" the app so the settings are already set before the app is pushed down to the device.
    However, I am not certain we have the correct URL.
    On the device I have...
    Mobile Server: http://<server>/MobileOTA/
    Port Nbr: 11011
    CMS name: rpfshare2
    Auth Method: Enterprise
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Just a quick update....
    We have actually moved on to MoBI 3.1 and it turns out we have had the app set up correctly with ourfirewall.  The issue is with the device.
    If you are not using a BES and want to use a standard firewall to access MoBI from the device, you must have what is called BIS Push enabled on the device or it will not work.  Your carrier (i.e. T-Mobile) can confirm if BIS Push is enabled/activated.
    As for the url of the 'Mobile Server' connection parameter for a non BES deployment....is only needs to be the full public domain name of the server that has MoBI listening...i.e.  mobileserver.company.com.
    FYI.... SAP Business Objects Support can/does take MoBI cases.  When submitting a "Message" use the component..'BOJ-BIP-DEP'

  • Splash screen for a desktop app (non mobile app)

    I'm using fb4linux, 4.5.1A SDK, I'm developing a non-mobile (i.e. desktop application) and I would like to add a splash screen to it.
    I've added mobilecomponents.swc to the library path, and the application starts like this:

        at spark.preloaders::SplashScreen/Stage_resizeHandler()[E:\dev\4.5.1\frameworks\projects\mobilecomponents\src\spark\preloaders\SplashScreen.as:407]
    The problem seems to be triggered by the line that sets the preloader, because if I remove it, the error is gone (although no splash screen is shown either).
    Any ideas how to make it work?

    I just want to thank everyone who post on here as your advice really does help.
    I had problems publishing to iweb and the following suggestions made by you all helped me overcome the difficulties I was having. I am posting this so that others who may be having the same problems as I was may sort their iweb out too!
    Obviously not all of these will help everyone and some people may disagree with what I have said but (touch wood) these ALL sorted out my iweb
    1. Empty your cache frequently.
    2. Do not use web counter/email me buttons
    3. rename your photos so that you are not using !@£$%^&*()_
    4. keep trying

  • Problems publishing to MobileMe

    Hi gang,
    I have the latest version of iPhoto, and have used iPhoto to publish a number of Mobile Me galleries.  Now I've run into problems.  When creating a new Mobile Me gallery using iPhoto's Share function, I get an error stating that the gallery has been removed.  I tried making a gallery from the Mobile Me website, and then adding photos from iPhoto.  That seemed to work, but then I noticed that the photos that iPhoto had uploaded were not full resolution (I think they were the Optimized versions), even though the gallery is set for Actual Size photos.
    I need to share these photos, and have never had problems with iPhoto and Mobile Me in the past.  Any ideas how to proceed?

    I created a Iview Transaction in the portal and this workfine. But with this I not can hide buttons.

    Whether Yahoo servers the mobile version of the page to a given browser is on the Yahoo server.
    They can detect which browser it is, and decide which page to access.
    The information iPhone's Safari sends is called the User Agent and the server decides based on that which page to serve.

  • Having problems publishing too?

    I have been on with tech support via chat today quite a bit and my site disappeared as well and had major slow issues publishing as well as a client who I help with her site we had similar issues. No explanations but what did seem to work is the following:
    Take a deep breath walk away from the computer make a strong drink and come back to the computer.. You may start to slur while you type and then do the following:
    Open System Preferences and click on Mobileme
    Sign out as (your user name) and sign in again but with a bogus password so you get an invalid username/password error
    That will reset the connection to the server
    once you are back, signed in normally and are in iWeb, Publish All to Mobileme and lets see how it reacts
    republish your site
    It took a long time but worked, I think it is a big they are having today...

    I had the same problem and here is how I solved it.
    (1) In the Finder menu select the Go menu and then select "My iDisc"
    (2) When the iDisc opens, of the 13 items showing, open the Web folder and you will see two other folders inside iWeb and Sites folders.
    (3) Open the Sites folder and you will see 17 items in it. (If there aren't any, just proceed.) Copy your 17 iWeb files and drag them to the Sites folder. When it asks if you want to replace the current files, click on "replace all." It takes a little time to replace all of the files (depends on the Apple server load. After all files have been replaced, close everything and open your favorite browser (Safari or IE, etc.) and type in the following address:
    http://web.mac.com/username/website name and it should bring up your web site. I was never able to PUBLISH my site the normal way but it worked doing this with the exception that my hit counters do not appear. But everything else works fine.

  • I just installed my CS5.1 on my new Lenovo Laptop Win 8.1. Problem -- On Image Adjustments none of the adjustment options respond.

    I just installed my CS5.1 on my new Lenovo Laptop Win 8.1. and everything worked for a day. On day 2 I ran into Problems -- On > Image >Adjustments none of the adjustment options respond. None of the toolbar functions such as >Crop etc respond.
    I then installed the same download on my PC and everything works as it should.

    The software worked on the first day, problems appeared next day. I uninstalled and deleted the exe.file, then redownloaded and reinstalled but same problem persists.
    I then downloaded and installed on my PC and everything works.
