Problems readinga pdf on black berry devices

Has anyone else encountered problems atttempting to read a
pdf on a black berry based cell phone

I not exactly sure what you mean? Illustrator was used to save as a pdf.
Also our Blackberry Enterprise server was upgraded over the weekend to 4.1.5 and I am now able to open pdf versions up to 1.7. I haven't been able to find anything in blackberry's documentation that states it supports any versions higher then 1.4 but it is now working.

  • Only able to view some PDFs on black berry

I able to view pdf files that are created with the info in the PDF tab under Properties thats states:
PDF Producer: Acrobat Distiller 8.1.0 (Macintosh)
    PDF version: 1.4
I receive a PDF with this Info and it does not work:
PDF Producer: Adobe PDF library 8.00
    PDF version: 1.6
I looks like pdfs that where are an older version seem to work but newer ones do not. I know the one that works was created by Distiller.
The PDFs also contain images and the one that is not working correctly displays the text but not the image.

  • ADOBE interactive forms in Black Berry

    Hi,
We have a requirement to send the ADOBE Interactive forms to Balck Berry and Open in the Black Berry and fill the form and need to send it to SAP
Is it possible on Black berry?
If possible, how to implement that.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks,
    Adi.

Most likely not possible as there is no reader for Blackberry unless you use a 3rd party software. Have a look at Note 1002905 - Interactive PDF Forms on PDAs and Other Mobile Devices.

  • My Black Berry Desk Top Manager doesn't work on my computer help!

On March 6 I took my BlackBerry® Style™ 9670 smartphone  in for software issues after tech support did a hard reset on the device. I went home to back up my information and was unsuccessful. The connection failed this is the first time that the desk top software had problems. I un-installed The Desktop software and reinstalled and the disk that came with the phone open almost "1 Million" windows therefore opening some type of virus on my computer. I tried to install from the Black Berry site and it did the same thing. I had to get my computer serviced, I tried installing from the site yet again and now it still isn't working when installed... Help!!

    Hi luciana247,
Welcome to BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Can you provide more detail on what happens with the Desktop Software after the last reinstall? What error messages are being received? Are you able to open it? At what point does it stop working?

  • Problems Creating PDFs

A lot of problems creating PDFs come from using the wrong printer to create the PDF or underlying printfile.
You should use Adobe's Distiller printer instance to create a PDF. This comprises the latest Adobe Postscript printer for your operating system plus the Distiller PPD.
Don't use an HP printer to create your PDF. PostScript, or otherwise.
Don't use a Xerox printer to create your PDF. PostScript or otherwise.
    See #1.
Note: If you are outputting to a service bureau, you might want to use something other than the Distiller printer instance. However, if you encounter problems with your particular PDFs, try using the official method with the Distiller printer to see whether any problems are limited just to your setup. If problems persist, you might have to create your PostScript output using one printer driver and the PDF using Adobe's Distiller printer instance.
    Common problems include:
Black and white, or greyscale, PDFs created from color FrameMaker books and documents.
Distiller terminating the PDF creation process early, thus no PDF is created.
    Troubleshooting:
For lack-of-color problems, first check you don't have Spot as Black set in the Frame Print dialog.
Update the printer you are using to the latest Adobe PostScript printer driver version.
Uninstall the printer you are using to create PDFs and to reinstall the latest version from scratch.

FAQ: Creating PDF Files from FrameMaker Documents -- Why you should not use "save as PDF"! -- Windows & MacOS Only!
    Dov Isaacs - 07:02pm Dec 6, 2001 Pacific
An issue that has come up over and over again on several FrameMaker and Acrobat/PDF email lists as well on the corresponding Adobe User-to-User forums is that of creation of PDF files. FrameMaker 5.5.6 and 6 have what looks like a convenient feature that is supposed to allow you to create PDF files via simply saving the document as a PDF file. I have gone on record as advising end-users not to use this approach for reliable creation of PDF files from FrameMaker documents under Windows and MacOS with FrameMaker 6 and earlier. Why do I most vociferously offer this advice and why doesn't the problem get fixed? And how SHOULD you create PDF files from FrameMaker?
    GOOD NEWS
I will start with the good news. The "next major version" of FrameMaker will indeed have "save as PDF" re-implemented in a manner that it will be as reliable as printing to the "Acrobat Distiller" printer instance under Windows or the "Create Adobe PDF" desktop printer under MacOS. I am personally working with the FrameMaker development organization to make sure this really happens and is fully and properly tested and debugged! Furthermore, this next major revision of FrameMaker, unlike FrameMaker 6, will come with a Distiller installer that will properly install the "Acrobat Distiller" printer instance under Windows and the "Create Adobe PDF" desktop printer on the Macintosh (of course assuring that the latest PostScript driver is also automatically and correctly installed).
    DON'T USE "SAVE AS PDF"
But what's wrong with "save as PDF" as currently implemented?
The following are some of the SYMPTOMS reported over the last few years by FrameMaker users that were traced back to use of "save as PDF" under FrameMaker:
    (1) No PDF file is produced at all, possibly with a log file showing not-readily apparent PostScript errors during distillation.
    (2) The PDF file "loses" color in images. All or some images (raster, bitmap images, NOT vector artwork) appear in the PDF file in grayscale.
    (3) The resultant PDF file is on the wrong paper size, i.e., the document's logical page size does not match the output page size as seen in Acrobat or Acrobat Reader.
    (4) Some or all text in the resultant PDF file is blotchy looking or overly bold.
    (5) Some or all text in the resultant PDF file cannot be searched or indexed.
    (6) Some or all text in the resultant PDF file appears in Courier or in some other substitution font.
    (7) Interword or intercharacter spacing is a bit irregular in the resultant PDF file.
    (8) Content is missing in the margin areas of the page, i.e. you cannot do full-page bleeds.
    (9) Some or all page content is missing (other than margin areas).
    (10) Relatively inefficient PDF is generated.
If this list by itself isn't enough for you, please note that some of these symptoms are very subtle and may escape attention when the PDF is first viewed or printed. Oftimes, it is when one attempts to manipulate the PDF file in Acrobat or repurpose its content or even view or print on a system other than the one on which the PDF file was created, that some of these symptoms make themselves obnoxiously visible (or invisible in some cases I won't make any bad jokes here about graphic examples!).
It is important to understand that FrameMaker does NOT have its own native ability to create PDF. Any and all PDF created from FrameMaker documents is actually done by creating PostScript via the PostScript driver and having the Acrobat Distiller create PDF from that PostScript. The only exception to this is creation of PDF via the Acrobat PDFWriter driver, which is likewise not recommended (see below).
In order for "save as PDF" to work correctly, FrameMaker must do the equivalent of calling Printer Setup and selecting the "Acrobat Distiller" printer instance under Windows or the "Create Adobe PDF" desktop printer under MacOS followed by setting the driver's options correctly for paper size, page range, etc., followed by sending the proper commands to the driver to create PostScript.
Contrary to popular belief, PostScript as generated by the Windows and MacOS PostScript drivers is VERY device-dependent. The information in the PPD file associated with a printer driver instance provides critical parameters for generation of PostScript including:
Whether the printer supports color (Acrobat Distiller does)
What PostScript language level is supported (Acrobat Distiller 4.x and Acrobat Distiller 5.x are both PostScript language level 3)
Whether native TrueType support is available (Acrobat supports native TrueType as Type 42 fonts)
Available binary communications (Acrobat Distiller supports pure binary and ASCII, but NOT TCP, TBCP, or PJL)
Resident fonts (Acrobat Distiller doesn't really have resident fonts)
Available paper sizes and custom paper size availability (Acrobat Distiller supports a wide range of predefined sizes and continually variable "custom" sizes up to 200" by 200")
Margins / printable areas (for PDF and the Acrobat Distiller, there are no margins in which imaging is not permitted)
Device resolution (Acrobat Distiller can be set to any value from 72 to 4000 dpi; as a convenience, the Acrobat Distiller PPD provides a series of values for use by the driver. Since there is no inherent "resolution" of a PDF file, this parameter is used only for purposes of allowing PostScript programs that query for such a value to be satisfied and for the driver to be able to communicate this value to the operating system and/or application as required.)
Paper handling (totally irrelevant to Acrobat Distiller if input or output tray selection via "setpagedevice" is found in the PostScript stream, it is ignored by Acrobat Distiller)
Thus, if the wrong printer driver instance is selected (i.e., it isn't associated with the Acrobat Distiller PPD file) or that driver instance is improperly configured, improper PostScript will result and one or more of the symptoms described above can occur. As currently implemented, FrameMaker depending upon version will not necessarily choose the correct printer driver instance and/or correctly parameterize the print job via driver setup options. In fact, FrameMaker 5,5,6 might even try to generate PDF via calling a PCL driver, FAX driver, or even a non-PostScript inkjet printer!
    DON'T USE PDFWRITER
The Acrobat PDFWriter is a relic of older versions of Acrobat. In fact, it is no longer installed by default in the "easy install" or the "typical install" of Acrobat 5. It hasn't really be updated since Acrobat 3 and only supports PDF 1.2. It is a GDI (Windows) / QuickDraw (MacOS) driver that directly generates PDF without any intermediary PostScript. Since it is not a PostScript printer driver, applications cannot pass through EPS graphics and/or PDFMark information (used for a wide variety of purposes by FrameMaker). For EPS graphics, most applications will send the low resolution TIFF (or PICT) EPS header in lieu of the PostScript text, if they send anything at all, to the driver. Forget about links, structure, or any other PDF "goodies." Expect that PDFWriter will fully "bite the dust" in the next major version of Acrobat.
SO HOW DO I GENERATE PDF FILES FROM FRAMEMAKER 6 & EARLIER?
The ONLY method that is really reliable for producing PDF files with FrameMaker 6 and earlier requires the generation of PostScript via a properly set printer driver instance associated with the Acrobat Distiller PPD and distillation of the resultant PostScript by Acrobat Distiller.
Case 1: FrameMaker and the Full Acrobat 4.05 or Acrobat 5.0x Products
PDF file from a "chapter" -- print directly to the Acrobat Distiller printer instance (Windows) or the Create Adobe PDF desktop printer (MacOS) already installed by Acrobat. If you check the "Acrobat data" option, then make sure to UNcheck the "print to file" option that gets set at the same time. As a result, the driver will automatically send the generated PostScript to the Distiller for you and delete the intermediate PostScript when done.
PDF file from a "book" -- print directly to the Acrobat Distiller printer instance with the "print to file" option checked (Windows) or the Virtual Printer desktop printer (MacOS) associated with the Distiller PPD (see details below under Case 2/MacOS). You will need to manually process the resultant PostScript file through the Distiller (or use a "watched folder" arrangement).
In both the above sub-cases, the default driver options generally will be OK, but check on paper size and communication protocol (Use pure binary, not ASCII, for optimal performance AND no CTRL-D characters under Windows. Make sure to set Level 3 only and Binary under MacOS. Font inclusion "All" for Acrobat 4.05 and "None" for Acrobat 5 under MacOS.). With Acrobat 4.05, make sure you preset the Distiller to use the joboptions you want. With Acrobat 5, you can set this on a job-by-job basis via the driver printer setup interface (or print dialog on MacOS).
Case 2: FrameMaker 6 and the Bundled Acrobat 4.05 Distiller
Windows -- Create a new printer driver instance using the latest version of the Adobe Universal PostScript Driver Installer, downloadable from Adobe's web site AND the Acrobat Distiller PPD file (located in the XTRAS subdirectory of the Distiller directory). This driver instance should be set to print to the local port named "FILE:". Name this driver instance as "Acrobat Distiller". The default driver options generally will be OK, but check on paper size and communication protocol (use pure binary, not ASCII, for optimal performance AND no CTRL-D characters). Make sure you preset the Distiller to use the joboptions you want. Print directly to this Acrobat Distiller printer instance. Make sure that the "print to file" option is checked. You will need to manually process the resultant PostScript file through the Distiller (or use a "watched folder" arrangement).
MacOS -- Install the latest version of AdobePS 8.7.x, downloadable from Adobe's web site. In FrameMaker, go to Page Setup and select the "Virtual Printer" and go to the "Virtual Printer" window pane. Select the Acrobat Distiller PPD file (located in the XTRAS subfolder of the Distiller folder). Print directly to the "Virtual Printer" (Make sure to set Level 3 only, Binary, and font inclusion "All".). Make sure you preset the Distiller to use the joboptions you want. You will need to manually process the resultant PostScript file through the Distiller (or use a "watched folder" arrangement).
    Case 3: Acrobat 3
Acrobat 3 is not officially supported for the latest OS versions and I personally would no longer recommend its use for generation of PDF files given that Acrobat 5.0.5 is the current version of Acrobat.

  • Black Berry Pearl - Track Ball

I have been my Black Berry pearl since past two years, since the last 6 months the Track Ball started giving some problems with scralling and now from the last couple of weeks it has stopped functioning altogether, can anybody help me where to get this repaired. Since, there is no repairing facility in Kualalumpur, Malaysia. Since then I have moved to 8700g, which I fealt a more rugged machine although a bit bigger in size.
    Cheers
    Dave

    Dave,
Because you have had the Blackberry for so long I can assure you the trackball is not working because of dirt and oil build up from your fingers and not because of a software issue.
Take a damp paper towel.  Make sure it is damp NOT wet, this is critical.  Then push trackball in and turn it as you wipe it, do this for about 5 minutes.  Turn the device off, take the battery out for 30 seconds, put it back in and push the trackball in again with the damp papertowel and turn it as you wipe it.  Sometimes you need to repeat these steps 2 or 3 times.  This should do it.

  • How to get dark elements in background to be visible on PDFs viewed on mobile devices?

I would appreciate any information about how to export to PDF an InDesign document, which has multiple dark jpeg layers used to create a background, so that those elements appear in mobile device PDF viewing, just as they are seen on a computer monitor's version of the PDF viewing experience.
On mobile devices - iPhone and iPad - the background of the PDF appears simply as black. All the other texts and color photos in the foreground areas of the InDesign document appear perfectly on the mobile devices on the PDF.  Yet, the darker background elements render as solid black on the mobile devices.  Perhaps, this is always the case so that the PDF can be rendered viewable on mobile devices more quickly. I don't know.  The same PDF is viewed perfectly on computer monitors. This is only an issue with the mobile device viewing of the PDF.
I've tried everything I know to do to choose different and particular settings in the "Adobe PDF preset" type area from within InDesign in order to create viewable background elements via a PDF viewed on mobile devices.
Any information as to particular settings for the InDesign document to Adobe PDF which would allow ALL elements to be seen on ALL electronic devices would be especially helpful.

Steve,  thank you for your post as well.  Please see my first reply, which was in reply to Bob Levine's question.  I can't provide a link to the document because it's part of a collaborative work that I'm contracted for - so I can't violate that with a public sharing of the PDF.  Otherwise, I would share a link.  But your comment about the different app Readers you used, gave me the idea to try all of them that I have.  Because the doc was in a Dropbox shared folder, I could access it via my Dropbox app on my iPhone/iPad.  So, I decided to go through multiple options with what they allow you to open a PDF in, to read it.  I had only tried a few.  Then after your comment I decided to try whatever else they had and tried the Adobe PDF reader one - and it opened with all the visual elements there.  I'll have to tell the folks, that I'm doing the work for, to open it in the ADOBE PDF Reader app now.

  • Adobe 9 Black on White Document Scans to PDF Invert Black to White and vice versa! Not Good!

I have the same problem as TexasLawyer (Jul 30 2009) whose question was not answered nor was there any answer to a commenter who said he has the same problem ("I have an old HP LaserJet 3330 multifunction printer, and prefer scanning documents out of Adobe Acrobat rather than the software that came with the scanner.  However, after upgrading to Acrobat 9 Professional, the scans result in negative images.  I tried using the option in Acrobat to create negative images, hoping that that would result in a positive, but it didn't work. I'm using Windows XP, also.")
Me too. Except I am running XP as a virtual machine in a MAC (Snow Leopard). I "upgraded" to Acrobat 9 from a functioning Acrobat  6 (worked fine with my setup to make correct B&W pdf's from scanned B&W documents on the HP 3330 before I installed Adobe 9--I got updates immediately and am at version 9.1.3) butthe  Acrobat 9.1.3 scans on the HP 3300 invert white to black and black to white. The printer option box to invert black and white images was unchecked.  I checked it and ran the scan again but same result--white of paper document is black in pdf and black is white in pdf. I can scan the B on W document using grayscale and get B on W but the file is too large and unacceptable due to smudges picked up with gray scale.
Can't understand how so basic a use of Adobe is this messed up.This has to be a common problem since many many users scan black on white documents to pdf. Does anyone have a solution to this? It is critical in my profession.
Thanks in advance to you problem solvers out there that can solve this for me and hte others in my boat who search these forums looking for the answer to this issue.

I have an HP6010 scanner (sheet feed) that is used to scan multiple page documents. If I use the WIA scanner option I cannot select page size and the scanner defaults to legal size. On the other hand if I use the Twain driver I get negative images on my scans. I just installed Acrobat X Pro and the same thing is happening. I was using Acrobat 9. In fact in duplex mode the scanner outputs a negative image every other page, and a standard image on the alternate pages. Either way I am frustrated. I can't remember when the problem began, but I believe I was running XP SP2 and Acrobat 7 or 8.
Ironically, if I push the scan to PDF button on the scanner, which uses an HP utility, it comes out fine. All pages are in positive mode.
I did try scanning in color even though the document is black and white. I believe that the scan was fine. No negative images, but scanning in color is like watching the sun go down.
I thought it was Vista and System 7, then I was told that it had to be a scanner issue and that I needed to talk to HP. However, if the scanner functions properly on its own, with the HP utilities, then it has to be Acrobat.

Assuming it is in one piece and otherwise meets the conditions for an Out of Warranty replacement, yes.
    Conditions are:
Certain damage is ineligible for out-of-warranty service, including catastrophic damage, such as the device separating into multiple pieces, and inoperability caused by unauthorized modifications.  However, an iPhone that has failed due to contact with liquid may be eligible for out-of-warranty service.

  • Export to PDF causes blacks to go grey.

    Hello,
I have been dealing with an issue involving the way InDesign exports to PDF.  In images and boxes drawn in InDesign the black value is being reduced to 95% while the text remains full black.  I thought it was a printer issue but I looked more carefully at the PDF and sure enough it's in the image I outputted to PDF format.  How would it be possible that the blacks in images and drawn boxes could loose the 100% black but not the text?  Do I have a bad install or just a setting misplaced?
I am running CS5.5 with all the latest updates on a brand new Mac Book Pro.
    Thanks,
    Brett

It's too bad this is such a convoluted process.
I don't see any problem with 1-bit black or text black with a CMYK Transparency Blend Space, either in InDesign's Separation Preview or in Acrobat's Output Preview after exporting via the PDF/X-4 preset. In all cases output reads as 0|0|0|100 CMYK, which is what you would want and expect going to  press
A placed all black 1-bit psd in ID
    Exported to PDF/X-4
Are you outputting separations or to a composite printer? If composite  is your Print>Output>Color, Composite Gray or Composite CMYK?

  • Printing Problems with PDF - Adobe Acrobat

    Printer - HP Deskjet 3070A
Laptop - Asus Zenbook running Windows 7 Home Premium
Issue: Printing problems with PDF (Adobe Acrobat Reader)
    Dear All,
    Please help!
My printer was working absolutely perfectly until my brother in law recently needed to borrow my printer. He plugged in his laptop running Windows 8 (awful thing that is). Since he did this to print his own PDF, I cannot print mine.
Although all the text will appear on the page perfectly both in the document view and on actual printing, it appears that some of the transparent formatting stuff on a PDF - such as boxes you have to fill in and transparent areas (such as you find on glorious tax forms) are omitted completely. In fact, in their place I was getting a single black dot. Now, after uninstalling and re-installing updates for the printer, windows 7, adobe acrobat reader, etc.etc. I get squat. Just all the text laid out but none of the shading or boxes.
I have tried fiddling with the printer settings; the  print as 'photo' option, dpi settings, greyscale - as much as I can think of and I am thoroughly stumped.
In a desperate attempt, I even installed the Universal Printer Drivers - thinking it might have been that. No. All I got was a page of gobbledygook. Consequently, I uninstalled and reinstalled the normal drivers again.
If there are any wonderful people out there with any fabulous ideas about how I can get my shading and boxes back; I'd  very much appreciate it. Sadly I have a tax return to fill out (which is already fabulously late) and need my printer to work!
    Much appreciation in advance x

    Hey there @Reverie!
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
I can see that the printer is no longer printing in the correct format after it was plugged into the Windows 8 computer!  You mentioned you have run the updates and uninstalled/re-installed the printer software.  Have you uninstalled and re-installed the Adobe software? Are you getting the same issue from other programs as well? Are you getting the same issues if you are logged in as a different user on the computer?
I have located the HP Update Software Utility that may be able to help.  You can download an run the utility.  It may be able to locate any other updates for the printer.
I would also recommend running a disk cleanup on the computer to clear any temporary files and junk files that may be causing some performance or software issues. If you do not know how to run a disk cleanup on the computer please follow this document regarding Delete files using Disk Cleanup.  It is recommended to restart the computer after a disk cleanup. After the restart try the print job again!
Let me know if that helped and thanks again for posting on the HP Forums!

  • Shopping Cart approval process in SRM using Black Berry

    Hi,
I am very new to SRM. Here the user wants the whole approval/rejection process of shopping cart should be done via the Black Berry.
When a shopping cart is created in SRM then automatically a mail should appear in this mail box(outlook or lotus) as well as in the black berry mail box, so from black berry the user will accept/reject the shopping cart.
What workflow should be used? for mailing to outlook as well as in the blackberry whether we should implement any BAdI and also for integrating SRM & black berry whether we require any plug-in or configuration to be done..
    Please do the needful..
    Thanks and Regards,

    Hi,
    pl. read this:
    Mobile Enterprise Buyer
    Use
Users can log on to the Enterprise Buyer system using a WAP-enabled cellular phone or any other WAP-enabled front end. This allows them to perform many procurement tasks completely independently of any docking station. These mobile applications are part of the standard system setup for Enterprise Buyer.
Managers can approve shopping carts while on business trips far away from the office.
The start URL for the mobile scenarios is:
    http://.:/scripts/wgate/wapbbpstart/!?~language=
where <language> = de or <language> = en, for example.
The initial screen is displayed in the relevant language.
    Integration
You can either use your own WAP gateway or you can use a WAP gateway service from a telecommunications provider. If you have your own gateway, you can position it behind your firewall. This means that communication is via a dialup line as far as the WAP gateway, that is, a secure connection going behind the firewall. Beyond this point, communication is via HTTP. If you are using a WAP gateway service, the dialup line stops outside your firewall with the less secure HTTP communication starting outside the firewall.
The graphic shows a standard configuration with a WAP gateway located behind the firewall.
    Prerequisites
    You require the following:
    WAP-enabled mobile device
    WAP gateway
    WML-enabled catalog that supports OCI
You have configured your Web server to handle the MIME (Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions) types required for WAP. These are as follows:
    File extension
    MIME type
    Wml
    text/vnd.wap.wml
    Wmlc
    Application/vnd.wap.wmlc
    Wmls
    text/vnd.wap.wmlscript
    Wmlsc
    Application/vnd.wap.wmlscriptc
    Wbmp
    image/vnd.wap.wbmp
If you have your own Web server, you define the MIME types using the Web server's administration tools. In Microsoft IIS, you have to enter the types on the Properties page of your site on the tab card HTTP Headers. If you are not using your own Web server, inform the administrator or provider running the Web server.

NONE of it covers ANY of my three (3) issues here! My issues are ADVANCED and the HELP documentation is meant for a VERY 101 BASICS beginner. I am really looking for help here, your response did NOT help me ! While I thank U for your valuable time in responding, NO THANK U since U did NOT help me ! I WANT SOMEONE THAT REALLY HAS KNOWLEDGE OF MY ISSUES and how to REALLY HELP ME !People if U cannot REALLY POSITIVELY ASSIST me with REAL ANSWERS to my REAL ISSUES , please DO NOT WASTE MY VALUABLE TIME AND YOURS AS WELL! Wait, Sir Charles.
    1. The two of us have offered you very valuable adivce, which you indicate in both cases you wish to ignore.
    2. You have NOT mentioned any issues in your first post here other than you wish to be social, and now in your second post that you don't know how to add contact and wish me to email you directions. I don't give personal service, as a volunteer I answer questions right here in the threads. You'll just have to suffer through asking questions right here. It's a great forum where thousands of users have gotten help. And often, quite speadily as well.
    3. Your last post is quite rude to a user who has spent lots of time helping users out around here, and quite honestly your words are uncalled for. Your ALL CAPS typing is considered yelling on internet forums such as this. No one likes to be yelled at. My mother taught me about gathering flys with honey rather than vinegar. You might try some honey yourself.
    4. Adding BBMessenger contacts. Open BBMessenger > Menu > Add Contacts. Enter either the PIN of the other user you desire to add, or their email address. IF THEY are already on your BB Address Book, you can enter their name there. Follow the prompts you are given.
