Problems registering my iphone 4
I've bought a second hand iphone 4 and when I've tried to register it, Apple wont allow me to saying that 'According to our records, this serial number is registered to another Apple ID.' What should I do?
You would need the original owner to contact apple about transfering ownership - see http://www.apple.com/support/products/faqs.html
If the phone was purchased new less than 12 months ago, or has AppleCare, the warranty is transferable, but the original owner has to do that.

thanksIs the English sim from the original carrier as that is usually the message you get with a carrier locked phone.

There are problems w/ my iPhone first generation w/ the new July updates. The phone runs slow now. Could not play certain songs on iPod. phone reset back to the home screen when I go to certain sites on the Internet. Use to be able to go on the Internet on the 7 train and the phone freezes sometimes.
The thing that ***** is that if u don't have wi-fi u can't use the iTunes icon and utube is not clear. Utube ***** anyway. The thing that would make the phone offical is if the iPhone had cable tv.I hope someone can answer this one. My 1st gen was doing the exact same s*. and now it's completley dead. Even when you do a hard boot with both top and home buttons it gives you the apple of death. I've let it sit until the battery goes out.
I'm a network analyst/engineer and I'm stumped. I've tried everything. I finally gave in and set up and appointment with a "genius." I have a feeling they're gonna have to replace it or something. It wont even register on a mac or win laptop to do a reset. I'm screwed.
I expect to hear more about this issue. I almost thing the firmware might not be compatible with some of the hardware???
might have to give in and buy a new one.....

Problems with adding iphone 5 to itunes match
Hello, I am having problems with getting my new iphone 5 to sync up to the itunes match. I currently have 2 itunes accounts, 1 in the Chilean itunes store and 1 in the USA store. Accidentally I registered the iphone to the Chilean store, however I have my itunes match in the USA store. Apparently I need now to wait 90days in order to change the account that the phone is registered. Is there any way around this rule? I am missing my music!!

iTunes for Mac does not handle WMA. You need to either convert those in iTunes for PC or get something like EasyWMA. -

When using the iPhone with the Windows OS, you need to have the Apple Mobile Device Service running. It should start automatically when you start the computer, but sometimes things happen. Use this support document to try and restart the service. See if that helps.

I am facing a strange problem on new iphone 5 that I bought last week. The maps app and the places in photo gallery shows the pin and my location, however there is no information of locations. Tried to close the apps, phone restart, reset etc. I am accessing it via strong wireless connection and it works fine on other devices. Please help.

Maybe a long shot, but WD is not known for the quality of some of their enclosures, although I do like the drives themselves. It may be worth mounting this drive in a different enclosure, something like one of OWC's FireWire enclosures with the highly reliable Oxford chip sets. I wouldn't be inclined to trust a WD enclosure, especially if it already seemed to be acting in a flakey manner.

I have 3 of these and I really like them.
From what I understand, if the drive spins up, it is often possible to recover data from it. To be absolutely certain to destroy the data, you just about have to take a hammer to the disk. Hopefully, there will be a way to get your data back.

Update: my PC USB hub was connected to a USB 3 port, I connected the 30 pin cable directly to my PC, And the restore worked just fine. Restored phone from iCloud backup and seems to be working fine. -

If your phone is locked to a particular carrier, you must contact them to request they unlock it. Once they've taken care of that and you've followed the instructions to complete the unlock process, you will be able to use the phone elsewhere.

I'm having a ton of problems with my iPhone 4 running iOS 6.1.3. Yesterday, I accidentally added a keyboard shortcut that was extremely long and it screwed up my iPhone. For one, the keyboard section of settings would take forever to open, and when it did open and I tried to delete the shortcut, my phone would restart and when I got back, the shortcut was still there. So I reset my phone. 7 times. And it still didn't work. I finally ended up using find my iPhone to erase it and then it worked. The shortcuts were gone and my phone stopped randomly restarting every 5 minutes. But when I got home, I plugged it into iTunes to get all my music an photos back on. I set it up as a new phone. After it was done syncing, I changed the name to the name of what it was before I reset it for the first time. Then, all of the sudden, it started crashing again. Sure enough, the shortcuts were there again. How do I get my music and photos back on my phone without the keyboard shortcuts being added back on? BTW, my songs are all off of CDs so I can't just re download them from the iTunes Store.
It sounds like you restored it with your backup because the shorcuts were back on there. Restore again, as new without your backup. They sync your media back on.

As far as trying to power up your device, make sure it has a good charge and then hold the button on the top of the phone and the home button on the faceplate together until the apple appears on the screen.

my problem is my iphone 4s is connected to wi-fi with full signal(3 bars) strength but freezes when browsing and says
"Cannot Open Page"
"Safari could not open page because the server stopped responding"
I already reset the iphone to its factory settings and erase all contents but still the browsing speed freezes or not searching at all. Sometimes it will work and fast but then the problem uccors every now and then. Iv'e been using iphone 4 for two years and I still have it and works fine compared to this IPHONE 4S.Settings → scroll down to Safari → in Safari settings, I selected both Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data.
IF that does not work -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Finally - if problem still present -
Go to Settings>General>Reset
Reset the network settings - you will need to add the password of your home WiFi in your phone once more
The device should turn itself off & back on then go into Settings>Wifi and join your network -
My o2 email account does not work when sending from my MAC it will accept incoming mail but not send it gives me a message that o2 account (offline) my mac I have no problem with my iPhone or mac laptop. any suggestions please.

I did what you've told me, new account and manually copied my files from Time Machine. I had lots of permissions problems, but at the end, almost everything is in order... It seems it had to be with some of the Apple Preferences, but I can't be sure, as most of them were dumped to the trash can.
I still don't have my Mail Rules back, unfortunately, although I did goggled some. It is a pity, as I had around 30 or 40 of them, getting my mail in order to each of its mailboxes, but it is a small price as the rest doesn't show the before syntoms.
