Problems? Runing PE 8 in Win 7 64 or 32 bits

Building a new machine and are soon starting to install OS and programs. My question is: should I install Win7 64 bit or 32 bit? I am gona run PE8. Is there a good idea to install 64 bit and try, and if it do´nt work change and install 32 bit,is that possible? Does anyone know if there has been problems with Win7/ PE8? The machine has MB: Asus P6T SE, CPU:Core I7 920, mem..12 Gb DDR3 1600, 1 SSD 60GB+ 4 Samsung Spinp.3 1TB in raid 5 and a graph.card:XFX Radeon HD 5770. Does anyone know anything about converting TS videofiles to MPEG 4, AVI or other formats,that I can run on my computer or burn to DVD? I have tryed a lot of conv.progr. but it does not work. Maybe this is question are for another forum?

64 bit is the way forward. In 32 bit only around 4GB of your 12GB memory will be used.
The switch, from 64bit to 32bit, will depend on your licence. I think that in some countries the W7 retail pack includes both. Some however do not. For example, because I have children in full time education, I am eligible for the student discount scheme in Britain (around £60 / $95 for W7 Ultimate and £35 / $55 for Office 2007 Enterprise) - however the W7 disk contains only the 64-bit version
Loads of people on this forum are having dreadful troubles with PRE8. While some may be because they have W7-64 there are just as many with problems on W7-32 as well. I suggest you scan the forums to see what troubles people have had - in some cases Adobe have let them downgrade to PRE7. I run PRE7 on W7-64 with very few problems (but my projects are all SD). Unless PRE8 has some 'must have' features for you, you may be better off with PRE7.

A bit of repetition, mainly for the benefit of anyone else with the same issue. In your case the "for older video cards" version might be worth a try.
When cleaning folders you need to check both the Program Files and Program Files (x86) folders, which you may well have done but didn't mention in the detail above.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if Apple Mobile Device Support won't install normally.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for performance issues or compatibility with third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Problem using SAP Connector in Win 2k3 x64 - No Data is returned on BAPIs

During the tests of migration to a 64 bits environment we encountered some problems with the connection to the SAP server.
The first problem was that the librfc32.dll library was a 32 bit library, so application could not run in x64 mode.
We downloaded the official x64 library from the Support Portal (https://websmp206.sap-ag.de/support > Downloads >
Support Packages and Patches > Entry by Application Group > Additional Components > SAP Kernel > SAP KERNEL 64-BIT > SAP KERNEL 6.40 64-BIT >
SAP KERNEL 6.40 64-BIT > Windows Server on x64 64bit > #Database independent > librfc_66-20001176.sar, and extracting file librfc32.dll a x64 dll).
Using this x64 dll we finally could test the application in 64-bits mode (the purpose of the migration) testing its runtime behavior,
where my current problem is.
When connecting to the SAP server all BAPI's we test are always returning an empty data results.
We have no errors nor exceptions from the SAP .NET connector, only the results come empty when they shouldn't.
When testing the same application but linked to the SAP 32 bits library (application runs in 32-bit mode), invoking the same BAPI's
(using the exactly the same code and parameters) we got the correct response from the BAPI, i.e., non empty results.
We already tested a set of BAPIs and always with the same result, in x64 we got no data, in 32-bits we got the information.
Does anybody know what can be causing this misbehavior? What can we do to make application run correctly in x64 mode?
Here some additional information about the Operating System: Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Standard x64 Edition, Service Pack 2 (with all windows updates installed).

#Go to properties of your project ->Build -> changed platform target of "Any CPU" to "x86"

All of a sudden, Media Card Support / Mass Storage Mode Support isn't working on Win 7 Pro SP1 64-bit OS

I routinely connect my BB Tour 9630 to my PC to pull photos off of it ... all of a sudden, it is no longer seen by Windows.

I have created a Debug Level Support Log and can make the four files created today available as a ZIP ... with a little guidance from a knowledgeable source as to how sensitive the info contained therein may or may not be in terms of just posting it here publicly.
FYI - I tried uninstalling everything BB-related in DevMgmt.msc and restarting the computer, however, under:
'Universal Serial Bus controllers' there is an instance of a
'USB Mass Storage Device' - Properties: 'This device cannot start. (Code 10)'
that will not resolve by any conventional 'Update Driver' means.
Something weird is BB Desktop Software 7.1.0.41 reports no Installed BB Device Software(?)
I didn't change anything locally ... I'm just wondering if TELUS Mobility pushed some kind of an update on me that has screwed things up.

I think I'll try re-installing the BB Desktop Software 7.1.0.41 ... the ' ... no BB Device Software installed ... ' GUI message has me concerned that there has been a Registry disconnect somehow involving the USB driver software registered with BB D. S. 7 ... this would indeed be a Windows 7 problem ... I'll update the thread and give you credit for pointing me in this direction ... if it works.
However, to be clear, I am connecting my 9630 using a USB interface cable connected to a USB 2.0 port on the Win 7 system ... I am not removing the 8GB MicroSDHC card from the phone and then utilizing a MicroSD to SD adapter or SD port ... whatsoever.
And , as for connecting via another computer, now that I have thought about this some more, that may have been what precipitated the problem in the first place ... I had experimentally tried re-connecting the 9630 to an XP Pro SP3 32-bit notebook loaded with BB D. M. 5.0.1.28 ... (after never having done so again since the Win 7 Pro SP1 64-bit / BB D. S. 7.1.0.41 system came into use). I don't see, off-hand, how that could have caused this issue, however, the coincidence is too large to ignore.

Win 8.1 Pro 32 Bit Compatibility with Office 2003 SP3 32 Bit

Our one of the customer has recently updated Win 8.1 Pro 32 Bit from Win XP. They are using MS Office 2003 32 Bit since long. With XP Office 2003 was working perfectly. But with Win 8.1 they have found one problem.
When they are typing mail ID in "TO" or "CC" the saved email ID is appear but by pressing ENTER the Auto fill action is not accepted. Because of this problem, customer have to type email id manually each and every time.
Can you please help me to resolve or clarify this problem.

Just as Dominic's share, Microsoft Office 2003 suites and applications are not compatible with Windows 8 and later Operating System.
I suggest you upgrade your Office version. Microsoft Office 2013 could work on Windows 8.1 seamlessly.

Why can I only use 2.48 GB RAM in Boot Camp (Win 8.1 Pro, 64-bit)?

Hello, I am fairly new to the iMac and I have to use some programs in Windows that are not available for Mac so I set up Boot Camp and installed Windows 8.1.
My iMac is a I7-2600 CPU @ 3.4GHz with 16 GB RAM, system type-bit. Under system in Windows it shows Installed memory (RAM) 16 GB (2.48 GB usable).
I read about this problem and most answers are related to people using 32-bit. So what is wrong in my case, where is the problem?

What is the year/model of your iMac (my guess is a 2011 iMac)? Can you post the output of the highlighted command from OS X Terminal?

There is no .inf file on the Acrobat 5 CD that you can use to create a “driver.” If Distiller 5 even installs and runs on Windows 7 x64, the plumbing that came with Acrobat 5 to automatically feed PostScript files created by the PostScript driver to Distiller simply won't work with modern versions of Windows or any 64-bit version of Windows.
FWIW, Acrobat 5 is five full versions back from the current version. And no, we won't shoot you; you are effectively doing that to yourself! Your time must be worth something?!?!

4gb ddr2 1333mhz
Intel HD graphic 3000

Do your reasearch on the actual games you want to play. 64bit has the advantage of using all the available RAM. 32bit will ONLY use 3.2G of ram no matter how much is installed.
From that point of view, as long as the games you want will run on 64-bit, then that's the best choice, but be sure they will run on that platform before jumping to it.

Problems with Zen Vision M Series Media Explorer using 32-bit Vista Home Prem

I'm currently experiences problems with Zen Vision M Series Media Explorer using 32-bit Vista Home Premium. When i'm trying?to burn CD's onto my Zen after?I burn the first one then click to burn another it freezes. Is there any patches i should be downloading to solve this problem??Can anyone help? I have the same problem. It all started yesterday when I was installing the cd drivers in my new computer. I have searched numerous forums and some people had to return the product. Please admins help on this issue as I understand it is very serious.

Lenovo System Update creating problems in fresh installation of Win 7

I'm hoping I can get help from this forum...
I have a Thinkpad R61 7742-CTO that has its original XP Pro operating system in day-to-day use. It's time to finally update to Win 7 with XP due to sunset soon. (Although I think Win 7 is visually ugly compared to XP)
I removed my "production" XP disk drive and did a clean installation of Win 7 Pro on the original purchase ("test") disk, including the 140-some MS updates available as of yesterday. Everything runs fine, including using Windows Update to search for new important and optional updates. So far, so good. I next went to Lenovo's website and downloaded the current version of Lenovo's System Update. Again, no problems once that particular program was installed. I installed Lenovo optional updates also without encountering problems.
However, when I load the Lenovo important updates, which include Access Manager, Power Mgr, etc., various intel and other "enhancements", things go wrong. If I click on Windows Update, for example, I get a message that it is not running. If I then do the net start/net stop wuauserv routines I found when searching the exact error message, I get the error: System error 5 access denied. I get the same message for several similar admin routines, particularly those involving "net".
I have tried many of the supposed repairs, including MS Fix-Its, that appear in Google when I searched the error message. None has worked. (A couple Fixits I did manually and got the Access Denied messages again) So I've rolled back using the restore point just prior to downloading the Lenovo programs, and everthing resumes working as expected.
It seems that the Lenovo downloads are interfering with something, particularly my admin rights, in some way. There's only one user (me) and it has admin rights, no password & etc. Other odd things are Access Connections is running as is the basic Win 7 network app in the system tray. Perhaps the Lenovo apps are interfering with the similar Win apps rather than replacing them as intended?
Can anyone suggest an approach to solving my problem?

It may be that TVSU is "updating" the AHCI driver (Intel Matrix Storage Manager or Rapid Storage Technology) to one that breaks Windows update.
You can try rolling back the driver to an earlier version or going to the Intel site and getting a later one.
