Well, beings that it is a free product and they didn't put it on the machine, I would say that you'd want to talk to whomever sold you the laptop. It should have a warranty of some sort.

Getting message: There is a problem running adobe Acrobat Reader. If it's running, please exit and try again. 6:6
Hi garryw,
What version of Reader are you using, and are you on Mac OS or Windows? Do you get the same error when you try to print other PDF files, or is the problem specific to one PDF?
For starters, please try the solutions listed in this thread: Re: There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat /Reader. If it is running ,please exit and try again.(0:104)
Let us know how it goes.

There is a problem reading this document (18)" ... I'm running Adobe Reader 11.0 / Win 8.0
Hi Ahmet,
Are you facing the issue with all the pdfs or any specific pdf?
Was it working fine for you before?
Try repairing Reader from the 'hlep' menu and check if that works.

Authorisations to run Adobe Reader under Windows 8
Under windows 8 with adobe reader 11, I have not been able to launch the program. Each time the system says I don't have the authorisations required (even when I follow instructions to get additional authorisations which I seem unable to obtain despite using the normal sequence of "properties" , "security" " advanced etc. and in this case I get the following message in the "target" slot"
The name "c:\program files\adobe\READER 11.0\Reader\AcroRd32.exe" is not valid. Verify that the routing (?) and the name of the file are correct
when I click on the Security tag although the location of the programes of Adobe Reader 11 are in fact in the location detailed above. It would seem that windows 8 has a security system that I don't seem to be able to adjust. (I have used Acrobat under Vista and under XP without these problems) . At the moment and after three days of efforts I am still incapable of getting Reader 11 to run..(a) After installation of Reader 11.0, the following text appears on the
screen after either double clic on the screen icone or clic on c: directory
(c:\programmes\adobe\Reader 11.0 :-
Title: Reader 11.0
Vous ne disposez pas des autorisations requises pour acceder à ce dossier
(Translation (not on screen): You don't have the authorisations required to
accede to this file)
(There are two tabs ("Continue" and "Cancel")
If one clics on "Continuer" the screen reads:
Reader 11.0
L'acces à ce dossier vous a été refusé. Pour acceder à ce dossier vous
devez utiliser l'onglet de securité :
Translation: Acces to this file for you has been denied. To acces this
file you should use the "Security" tab.
One tab: "Fermer" (Close)
If one then does a right clic on the Reader 11.0 screen icone, and then
clic on "properties" then clic on "Security", I get a listing of "groupes or
users" which for this computer gives the following : "System", "John
Willis([email protected]"), "Administrateur (rulepar\Administrateur),
"Administrateurs (rulepar\Administrateurs), "Interactif". Each of these has a check
mark against "Controle Totale",
"Modification", "Lecture et execution", lecture", "Ecriture" and the three
"rulepar" entries each have a check mark against "Autorisations spéciales".
If one clics on the tab "Avancé" then
on the "Autorisations tab 'john willis ([email protected]_
(mailto:[email protected]) ), 'Administrateur (rulepar\Administrateur), "INTERACTIF",
"Administrateurs (rulepar\administrateurs), "Systeme" all have "Controle Totale"
, "Interactif" has "Lecture et Execution" and "Administrateyr
(rulepar\Administrateur) and "john willis ([email protected]_ (mailto:[email protected]) )
have "Special"
on the "Partage" (share?) tab there are two entries (Type = Autoriser"
Principal for "Administrateurs (rulepar\Administrateurs) and "Tout le monde
(everybody)
on the Audit tab there is nothing and on the Acces Effectif page there is
"Select a user but nothing else.
The title of this page is c:\users\Public@Desktop\Adobe Reader XI. lnk
under a page title "Parameters of advanced security for Adobe Reader XI

Problem with Adobe Reader and IE
I'm using Vista Home Premium and IE9 with the latest Reader available. Starting yesterday, I cannot read PDF files on the web. This is a new problem. I tried to download newer versions of IE and the Reader, but both tell me I've got the newest versions I can use.
I have no problem with Firefox. Just IE. I prefer using IE. Can someone guide me -- without using technical language. Many thanks!!Thanks for your input. I opened the standalone Adobe Reader X, clicked Edit, Preferences, Security, Advanced Preferences. Then clicked each of the 3 tabs on top, but nothing looked like "Protected Mode."
Then I went back and clicked Security (Enhanced) and unchecked Enable Enhanced Security. Tested this change, but I still get the gray screen and messages: "A problem has caused IE to close." "A problem with this website has caused IE to close and re-open the tab." I then went back and re-checked Enable Enhanced Security.
I should mention that I have used this particular website for about 10 years and never had a problem. But I now have the same problem with any online PDF that I try to open using IE.
Can you think of anything else? If not, here's my plan of attack. Please let me know if you think it will work.
1) Copy over all my favorite sites from IE to Firefox. (I've already started doing that.)
2) Uninstall IE and re-install it.
3) If I still have a problem, uninstall Adobe Reader and re-install it.
Do you think this will do the job if all else fails?
Many, many thanks for the time you have put into this. -
Problem with adobe reader, commenting
one of our authors is using adobe reader x 11,1, and I send him a pdf (enabled commenting and measuring), but for some reason the commenting-fields does not show on his screen?
should I save the pdf in another way? What do you mean by "commenting fields" exactly? By “commenting filds” I mean the tools in top of the page – delete, highlight etc. When I send the pdf, I save it as “file - save as - reader extended pdf – enable commenting and measuring”, otherwise the commenting tools normally don’t appear by the author.
Are they existing comments? no, it is the text in his pdf-book he needs to correct
Is he able to access the commenting tools? no
You can try sending a non-enabled version since Reader 11 can add comments to a non-enabled document. will try that J

Continued problems with Adobe Reader 9.3.1
Adobe Reader stops at the half-way mark in the progress block when loading a form to print. Cannot get this fixed. Does anyone out there have a fix for this. Is Adobe even recognizing that there is a problem with this. Error message keeps telling me that there is a problem with Adobe Reader, exit and try again.
I haven't been able to print any .pdf files since I downloaded 9.3.
My message says Internet Explorer has closed it down because of data executable files. I've changed my DEF settings to allow
Adobe Reader but it still doesn't work. I never had any problems before with newer versions. -

That is the old version that causes the problem; you need to update to the latest version (15.0.2.361). -

The display problem such as two pictures as follow.
The strange problem was that menu bar covered by toolbar items or disappeared.
Please tell me how to resolve the problem.

Could you tell me where I could find the system requirement about Adobe Reader patch 11.0.09?
I couldn't find any information about system requirement of Adobe Reader patch 11.0.09.
I knew Adobe Reader 11 could install on Windows XP SP3 just all.
I could install and upgrade Adobe Reader to 11.0.09 as the following picture.
I will roll back the version of Adobe Reader from 11.0.09 to 11.0.07 and test the problem appear or not. -
Problems downloading Adobe Reader to Firefox
The problem is that the I cannot locate an Adobe Reader file that I can download into a folder on my computer. All of the downloads indicate that they will download and install on my computer automatically. If they did, then when the computer was restarted, the Adobe Reader probram would no longer reside on my computer. It would have been deleted by a program installed to do just that, unless it was disabled to allow for and install. This program is a major part of my protection from all the unwanted files I seem collect while using the inernet.
What I need is an Adobe Reader file that I can download into a specified folder, then searched for for fuzzy coding. Then I would disconnect from the internet, disable my protection program and install the program. Then reactivate the protection, and use the program from then on.
Question is where can I download a file directly into a folder without it automatically executing.
Downloading any file without my protection activated, will never happen.
Thanks in advance
