Problems running the installer for Elements 11 - Mac

Mac OS10.8.3
15" Retina 2.7GHz  16GB RAM
I have downloaded the installation file for Elements 11 using the Adobe Installer; upon running the installer I get an invalid checksum error.  Tried repeated times, same result.  Tried disabling checksum check in disk utility, lets me get one step futther to see the installer package contents upon mounting the .dmg.  When I run the installer, error message appears as follows;
Failed to initialise Installer
I got a message to install the Adobe Support Advisor, which I did.  I ran it, and it did not detect any issues. 
Have also tried using disk utility to verify and repair the downlaoded adobe dmg before mounting it - no change in the error when I try to run the installer.
Any advice?

If you continue to receive a message stating that your checksum is invalid then please try an alternate Internet connection.

    1) Can you download the files from the CD to a flash drive on another computer?  if so, then do that and copy the files to a folder on the computer with no CD drive and run the installation file.
    2) Two, but I believe version 12 lets you sign out on one so that you can sign in on another if you install it on three.

  • I'm trying to run the installer for firefox on widows 8, but the installer doesn't start.

    Earlier today I tried to run Firefox and it didn't start, so I went and uninstalled it, then tried to reinstall it, but the installer would not pop up. But in the task manager I see Firefox 32bit installer is there.I've tried running it with my antivirus off. The installer worked before, and I was able to run Firefox. None of the other programs I've download are doing this.

    please run a full scan of your system with the security software already in place and different tools like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes], [http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/adwcleaner/ adwcleaner], [http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/default.aspx microsoft safety scanner] & [http://www.kaspersky.com/security-scan kaspersky security scan]. also make sure that your security software isn't blocking the installation of firefox though...

  • Once windows installed in partitioned disc and run the installer for support software only get BSOD when restart. Help!

    I've tried reintstalling about 3 times, changing order of operations, still get blue screen.
    When I install windows and follow all directions it works fine. Once I install the apple provided support drivers and the computer restarts it manages to stay on for about 15 seconds before blue screening.
    MacPro Mid2010 2x2.4Ghz
    16 gigs of ram
    2 - 5770 Ati radeon 1024 MB video cards
    I have latest lion updates and ran the updater
    I have a brand new windows 7 installation disc, i have tried both 32 bit and 64.
    boot camp that is in my OSX is 3.0.4 (322), but it does download the support software for windows which i save in a separete usb stick.
    and I am doing the partition on a relatively new hard drive 500 gigs thats been partitioned.
    Any Ideas?

    Upgraded to Boot Camp 3.3 already?
    Have an Apple software RAID on other drives - AppleHFS and AppleMNT to mount and read HFS volumes - is buggy
    you didn't burn the DVD from ISO etc right?
    Safe Boot and rename AppleHFS.sys and MNT to .sys.old
    Install MacDrive instead to access HFS
    Who what or how did you partition the drive? normally I would just use Windows 7 DVD and not use BCA or share the drive with OS X.

    Thanks for the clarification on the terms. I consider myself proficent at my computer, but not exactly in its inner-workings! I have 8 GB of memory installed.
    I am still confused as to why I do not have any space for the program. This is the exact error message I get: "There is not enough free space on Macintosh HD disk. The Print Shop 2 application requires about 550 MB to be installed. Free some disk space and try again."

    Alauda_positos I would recommend reviewing your installation log files to determine the exact directory which the installer is unable to access.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret your installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html.  You are welcome to post any specific errors discovered to this discussion.

    I'm not sure anyone here knows more about the Java plugin than you do...
    Were you starting the control panel from disk as administrator because it didn't work starting it through the Start menu (if you have Control Panel set to View by Category, the Java control panel is under "Programs").

    We downloaded the installers for Creative Suite 2 since the activation servers had been shut down. However, I cannot find the installer for Acrobat Professional that came with the Premium Suite.

    Ok sorry it has been quite awhile since CS2 was released.  If Acrobat 7 has a separate serial number then please use your original installation media.  If it doesn't have a separate serial number then everything you need is contained in the install files available at the link in message #1.
    Have you tried installing what you have already downloaded?  What version of Mac OS are you using?  Do you have a PowerPC equipped Macintosh?

    What version of LabVIEW are you using to build your application?  On a remote computer you should only need the drivers you are using and the Run-Time Engine.  You can attach installers to LabVIEW 8 installers, but for previous versions you will have to add it by opening the installer configuration page, configuring your installer and then configure the Advanced properties.  This will allow you to attach a EXE to the installer which you can run.  Also depending on the version of LabVIEW will affect the OS version that you will be able to install the RTE on.  LabVIEW 7.0 is the last version that can be installed on Windows 98.
