Problems saving large animation file to any format

I worked on an animation file that ended up being about 600 frames with a resolution of about 1024 * 768 pixels which had hudreds of layered vector and raster objects. This was in CS4 Photoshop on my school's computer as a final project for Graphic Arts class. The animation plays very slowly with a stuttering framerate while in photoshop and will not save to any file format. It saved fine up until around frame 500. I've tried saving it to gif and PSD, but each time it takes several hours to load the save screen and even longer for it to try to save the file only to have it fail to finish saving. I don't really know anything about keyframes or symbols, so I created each object as I needed it. I'm thinking this is a hardware issue more than Photoshop, but is there any other way to save this?

Playing slowing could be lack of ram, but it could also be the incorrect frame rate(especially if someone before you had changed it). Make sure you are in timeline mode, click on the small icon in the upper right hand corner of the animation window, select Document settings(This option is only available in timeline mode) Now set the correct fps(frames per second) Normal video is 29.97, most web videos are 15fps but I have seen videos especially for screen grabs to be as low as 5fps. The smaller the number the slower the animation and the more jumpy it will be. On the other hand the higher the number the smoother the video and the larger the animation file will be. Its up to you to find the compromise.

  • Problem converting MPEG-1 Files to any format - Wanting to make a DVD

I wish I could use Compressor, but it doesnt work! My home videos are all nice quality, MPEG-1 files, but everytime I try to convert them with compressor, it gives an error, like: "Cant encode audio from MPEG-1 SOuce... bla bla bla"... another one is "Error Opening File"...
And I dont understand, ffmpegX works, so does MPEGStreamclip, but I still wanna give a try to Apple's Compression Software, and see if it can make a nice thing of my videos compression. Im trying to compress 40GB of home videos (like 6 hours of footage) and but them on a DVD or two... I am trying to convert all of them but I am kind of lost....
That is why I wanted to give a try to compressor... but it doesnt open my MPEG-1 files.
I converted my videos... it took me 2 days... all of them to MOV... if I compare each original MPEG-1 FILE... the MOV one has a little little less quality... but the space is 4 times smaller! ... Sorry, I forgot to say, I have exactly 32 horus of video... that means... with those MOV files I converted, I can put all of my videos in two DVDs...
But what happened them? Well... I gotta a surprise... :/... with DVD Studio Pro.. when I add my MOV files... they become 2.5 times bigger!!! :o... so now it is not the two DVDs thing I was dreaming about...
That is why I wish I could give it a try, with Compressor, but it doesnt seem to work...
Please, is there someone that could really helep me out on this? I really appreciate any help....
Thank you so much reading my post,
    Gabriel

    Hey Gabriel
first and foremost, compressor has a real problem importing a muxed mpeg1 (video and audio joined as one file).
what you first need to do with your files is take them into ffmpegx or mpegstreamclip (like you have already) and do what is called a transcode (that's the official, fancy name).
you would take the file into the above mentioned apps, then transcode them to a Quicktime movie via export.
i would recommend mpegstreamclip for this task, since you do have a lot of footage and this app does offer a batch option (which you can set it and forget it).
once you have transcoded all your files to *.mov's, you can then take those files into compressor!
as you may have noticed, i didnt sepcify a codec to output (like sorenscon 3 or DV for example) since i dont know how much of your storage you can allocate for this task (you will need quite a bit for 32 hours of video).
this is really an easy task, but quite time consuming, so dont think it will go by fast!
i would recommend a DV codec export from mpegstreamclip (via QT movie) with the highest possible quality and uncompressed audio.
    please advise

To save as a PDF, you do that from Print
To save as Wrod format, you export

  • Any news on the problem of large CHC files increasing size of roaming profiles?

Any news on the problem of large CHC files increasing the size of roming profiles?  Thank you.

I talked to the product manager.  Here's what he said.
This was addressed in our last release.  CHC 4.0 changes the location of the locally stored documents so that they are longer included when users synchronize their roaming profiles.  The CHC will even move previous files to the new location when users upgrade.

  • Problems Uploading a Pages file in html format including pictures to web pa

I have problems uploading a Pages file in html format to a web page.
The files itself is downloaded but the images are not. How can I upload a page file in html including the pictures or illustrations?

I just bought a macbook as well as the iwork software. I am having a few problems. I am a student and when I try to print out documents (originally word documents) it puts them automatically into textedit instead of pages. Also, the pages get all screwed up, things are missing, etc. How do I make pages my default and do i need to export? import? or do something so that these documents show up perfectly in pages?
A second questions- When i try to print out slideshows in keynote (originally from powerpoint) the handouts print on the little edge of the paper horizontally rather than the long way. I am hoping these are easy adjustments.
I would appreciate any help anyone can give me.
    Thank you!

the filereference class is for downloading and uploading files.
if you want to load xml, use the xml class.
and, if you want to write to an xml file and don't want to use server-side code, wait.

  • Problem opening large .Tif files

Hi...this problem is really frustrating. Preview will not open some large .tif
files (they're saved on Photoshop CS5 on a PC, with lzw compression).
The program just displays a grey screen...no error message.
When I email the images, no preview appears in Mail.
Is this a known problem with Preview in Snow Leopard, and can I do
    anything about it?
    Any help appreciated....

OK, I can verify that the file doesn't display in Safari or Preview, so it's not just you. From the error messages in the log, it seems that the built-in rendering routines see the file as corrupt. It does display correctly in QuickTime Player 7, GraphicConverter, OpenOffice.org, and LightZone. You'll either have to use another application to view the files, or get the author to save them in a different format. You can also file bug reports with Adobe and Apple, for all the good that will do.

  • Saving large tiff files as jpeg

    Hello, experts:
I scanned, as a tiff file, a full-centre spread of a large newpaper. This had to be scanned in eight sections, the pages were so big on my A4 scanner window. When I joined all the sections up in Photoshop CS5, the size of the file was huge (about 21 inches by about 19 inches) It is also digitally large (about 320 MB, since the resolution is 300 dpi). Because I want to keep the composite photo but don't want the file to be so digitally large, yet need the good resolution, I thought it would be a good idea to save it as a jpeg file, which would give me the dimensions I need but not be so digitally bulky as the original. On pressing the drop-down menu for Saving As, the jpeg option did not appear in the dialogue box. Why is this, and how may I save the file in jpeg format? With grateful thanks to any/all that can offer a helpful response,
    True to form

Curt, I'm very appreciative of the help you have given so far. However, I did try to change the image to an 8-bit as you recommended, and, though it is possible to make this change, and thereby reduce the sheer amount of data in the photo, when I click to choose 8-bit, the picture goes all bright and weird. This is because when I click on 8-bit, a window also arises, called HDR toning. In this window are lots of sliders, and, try as I may, it does not seem to be possible to adjust anything to make the picture normal in appearance. If you have any useful comment on what to do to make the picture like it is before the change to 8-bit, I should be glad to hear it. Thanks in anticipation.

  • Large Animation File in Timeline won't run smoothly

Ok.... so I have a large animation clip that runs perfectly on the viewer, but when I play it in a sequence with all the matched settings, it fails on me. it starts runnign with a lot of difficulty. Making it impossible to work with.
    The clip format is:
    size: 2GB
    Frame size: 1920x1080
    codec: Animation
I have several clip with these settings that I need to work with, and the only way i found to be able to work with them is by compressing them into a AppleProRes 422 (HQ) codec. I made a quick test using the new codec and it work perfectly.
BUT, I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW IF THERE IS ANY OTHER EASIER WAY to work with these files using the original format. I have over a 100 files to edit and not a lot of time to sit down and convert them all.
Is the ProRes422 (HQ) my only solution? Is the ProRes422 (HQ) my best solution?
I have a Mac Pro 2x2.4 Ghz Intel Xeon , with a  6 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 ECC memory and a ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB graphics card. With FCP7 running.
I will greatly aprecciate your advice on this one!

Animation codec is not an editing codec.  It has a HUGE data rate.  So huge that playback is impossible.  Even if you had a VERY fast drive RAID, it isn't the best solution.  The Animation codec is designed to be a lossless delivery codec, but when the editor receives the file, they need to convert to an editing codec specific to their machine.  IN your case, ProRes.
Yes, Converting to ProRes or ProRes HQ is your best option.

  • Problems viewing large tif files in preview

i'm having trouble viewing large tif files in preview. the tif files are on a cdrom - when i click on the file to open it, it opens only the first 250 pages of the file. the file has approximately 3,000 pages. how can i get preview to open the rest of the pages?
    thanks for any suggestions.
mac mini   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

no trick - i didn't create the cdrom but it only has 3 tif files with approximately 3000 pages each, not 3000 large tif files. plus several smaller pdf files, but those aren't giving me any problems.
i don't know whether they're compressed, but i still can't get more than the first 250 pages to open, even after copying the file to my desktop. if anyone has any other ideas, i'd much appreciate it.

  • ITunes 8.2 has problems handling larger music files

    Hi,
After upgrading to iTunes 8.2, I have begun to notice that the program is halted with larger mp3 files. I have quite a lot of music files with size 200MB and above and before opening them, iTunes stops for about 10-15 seconds (with "beach ball" on the screen), then the playback starts normally. This is not an actual problem, but pretty annoying though. iTunes 8.2 behaves in the same way both on my black MacBook, as well as on my oldie G4 iMac running Tiger. Never noticed such a behaviour with earlier 8.1 version of iTunes.
Has anyone encountered similar problem and could there be any remedy? Thanks in advance.
    Cheers,
    Matt

    iso_omena,
I can't duplicate your problem here, so maybe there's something about your machine or the software installed on it. Do you have any iTunes plugins installed?
You can also take a sample of iTunes while it's hung and send it to our good buddy, Roy, who will forward it to the right Apple engineers. To sample iTunes:
    1. Open the terminal app in /Applications/Utilities
    2. Get iTunes into the state where you have the spinning cursor and the music's not playing.
    3. At the command prompt in the terminal window, type in "sample iTunes 10". This will sample iTunes for 10 seconds and then tell you where it put the output file.
    4. You need to send that file to <[email protected]>. Make sure that you include:
    (1) the sample file.
    (2) the link to this thread.
    (3) a one line description of your problem, i.e. "iTunes crashes on launch".
    (4) the username that you're using here in the discussion boards.
Roy is getting a little swamped with messages and needs to make sure he gets all the information. And if he doesn't get that information, the message is just going to get dropped on the floor.

  • Problems with large Photoshop files CC 2014

    Hi,
Having a strange issue with the file size of some psd's.
I have two basicly identical images. They are both the same size (same ppi och same mesurments in cm). Both of them are singel layer and there are no paths or other hidden stuff. Both are in sRGB as well. The issue here is that the file on the left is about 12 MB and the one on the right is almost twice that and I can't for the life of me figure out why? As far as I'm concerned the image on left looks a bit more "advanced" and should be the bigger one.
This isn't just this image but most of the images i've been working on for the last couple of weeks. Chose this one becuse it was easy to compare to an older image around the same size.
Also recived some images from Samsung a couple a days ago wich where the same size as these ones but where 135 MB!!! After flattening the image to one layer it went down to about 25-27 MB but that still feels a alot to me.
Has there been any changes to the way Photoshop handles the file size in the latest verison (CC 2014)?
And befor anyone asks, yes they are saved for maximised compability.
Any idea's? Sorry for the bad english by the way

No, there are no changes to the handling of large files, or files in general.
But mistakes in bit depth, cropping, layers, etc. could explain a file size difference for files that look sort of the same.

  • Problem adding large video files to library

When I try to add large video files to my library. It doesn't work. No error message or anything. It just doesn't happen. The file I'm trying right now is 2.65 GB. I've had no problem with video files around 400 MB.

What format is the video in? iTunes is unfortunately silent when you try to add a video or song that Quicktime can't decode.
