Problems sending texts.....

Hi Everyone
Bit of strange one, it's got me a bit confuddled, wondered if anyone could help please?
I've got an iPhone 4s, and I've a problem sending texts/imessages...
It sends fine when I'm replying to a thread of messages but if I start a 'new' text and adding a contact to send to, it's not sending. (it says its sending as a text message, normally sends as an iMessage).
Any thoughts/advise please?

So even if you send a message as a text message--basically to someone who doesn't one an iPhone, they still won't receive it? Conversely you are able to reply to threads in messages which send as iMessages.
So when you send a text Bev does your iPhone tell you that it has sent the message? It doesn't say something like "Not Delivered"? Or is it just not received on the other end?
One thing I would like you to try is resetting the network settings on your iPhone. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. Once you have done this and your iPhone has rebooted I would like you to attempt to send an iMessage to a person with an iPhone and tell me if it goes through. And than from there I would like you to send someone a text message that doesn't have an iPhone and tell me if it goes through.

Problem sending texts

I'm having a problem sending texts to certain numbers. I have been able to send them before, but not any more. Delivery report tells me it's been delivered, but the recipient says nothing has arrived. It only seems to happen withcertain numbers.

If the messages are in your "sent items" folder, then they have successfully left your phone and non-delivery is down to either the network or the phone at the other end.
As you are getting delivery reports, I would suspect that the receiving phone has some kind of filtering system like that featured in some Nokia Series 30 phones which is filtering the message into a separate folder instead of the user's inbox.

Problem sending texts on Nokia 2310

I am having problem sending texts on my nokia 2310. I have plenty of credit, and service, and can make outgoing calls. I have looked everywhere in settings and can't find anything wrong. I think some sort of barring may have been put on text messages whenit was in my pocket and unlocked, but i don't know how to remove it. Help would be very gratefully received,

please check the message centre number.if any of your friends are having any phone go to message settings and check for message centre number and key in the same number.it should work.if still it is same you just update it with latest firmware and it should work fine.cheers.

Anyone have a problem sending text messages being delivered after few minutes up to five minutes?

Has anyone have a problem sending text messages and the messages won't get delivered after few minutes? From time to time I would have this problem and it's annoying. I would expect someone to receive it by then and response to my text right away. But when I look up the text it hasn't been delivered and it's in the process. I would hear that the message get delivered after few minutes? What gives? I never had a problem with my iphone 4 i think? Now with iOS 5 it let's me know whether it is delivered or not. This new feature is awesome but disappointing when I know my text hasn't been delivered right away. I'm not sure if it's the software or my iphone 4s or my carrier? anyone suggestions? Thanks!!

I have the same problem when sending iMessages.. Wasnt sure if it was apple or Sprint? But it happens VERY often and I end up having to send it as a text message instead

Problems sending texts and connecting to 3G after 6.0.2 update

Since updating to 6.0.2 my iPhone 5 is having problems sending texts (often - but not always - says texts weren't sent and must hit "retry" a couple times) and having problems connecting to 3G even in zones with good coverage. In general it's much slower than before the update when connecting to 3G. I don't know if this is due to Sprint or due to the update? Yes, I have turned it on and off many times and reset my settings, but it hasn't helped. Anybody else experience this problem?

Could be an issue with your Carrier and/or location...
The Basic Troubleshooting Steps are:
Restart.. Reset.. Restore from Backup... Restore as New...
Try a Reset...
Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release the buttons...

Do you have MMS turn on in Settings?
Are you provisioned by your carrier to use MMS?
Lastly, give your phone carrier a call, as MMS is a carrier feature.

Problems sending text from JavaScript to dynamic text box

For reasons which I won't bore you with, I'm trying to send
text from a JavaScript to a dynamic text box in Flash. I've just
spent all day wondering why I can't get it to work, despite
following web guides to the letter. Finally I discovered that I'm
not actually doing anything wrong and everything works perfectly -
as long as it's online. It won't work at all locally or from the
network.
The problem is that this is for learning material which will
be deployed both online and on CD, so it won't always be running
from a webserver. Has anybody got any ideas a) why this is

This is a good tutorial on using JSP pages with JavaBeans.
Your JSP page can have all the standard HTML tags and a bean can be set to retrieve any values from form fields upon a submit.
At that point your bean properties are set and your Java application can use that data for whatever processes you wish.
It's really quite simple once you get the hang of it! ^_^

Problem sending text only messages. any help?

I am having a problem sending a messages to one of my contacts. they can text me, but i cannot text them. I can send then MMS messages and call. They are on the Sprint Network. they have this problem only with someone on verizon, i am hoping to get this resolved quickly.

I totally understand! Rest assurred, this is definitely on her end as the only consistent thing in this situation is her phone/service. If the situation was reversed, and you were the one that could not receive texts from any Sprint customers, we would submit a Trouble Ticket to have our Network Team investigate into what is wrong with your line. Since this is the other way around our best advice is to have your friend contact Sprint and request that a similar process be done to resolve this.

All of a sudden i cannot l send text messages via my Moto X. I've tried sending to various contacts.....and get same message "message not sent". My phone has received the new update. I can send email, no problem. Anyone with this problem?

Have you checked that the message centre number is still correct?
Go to Messaging > Messaging centres > tap on Provider > Message centre number

When I send a text message to someone who has an iphone, my name doesnt pop up how they have it in their contacts, my apple ID pops up ([email protected]) in their text. It only happens when i send texts to people with iphones. it doesnt do this with any other phone. This started happening right after i installed ios 5.0.1. please help me figure this out!

I am really struggling with my phone. It has been playing up all day and I dont know why. I go to send a text message, select my contact but the top left hand button which normally says 'ok' for you to select your contact disappears so you cannot send a text. Also, the phone has started deleting some of my contacts that are stored on the phone itself... one minute they are there, the next they disappear!

Make a backup then do a hard reset(format), maybe it will resolve the problem. That is an s60 series phone, codes are available in the sticky thread "usefull codes".

E90 Problem sending text messages solved by partia...

After a couple of months with my Nokia E90 it stopped sending faxes but kept doing everything else. My provider (O2) suggested checking the settings, the message centre, resetting (not clear) and upgrading the software from Nokia's site. None of these worked.
As I am an O2 select customer, the phone was replaced (twice, thanks for trying O2), the second time with a brand new phone with the same problem. After restoring data from the last backup via pc for the second time, I still had the same problem. Was it the data? A phone virus?
The problem with the texts was eventually resolved by restoring everything except the settings to the phone. I still do not know what caused in the first place, but it I now have all my data, and can change the settings by hand.
Thanks to all at O2 for trying to help, I thought I would post this as when I tried to search for the problems online nothing came up.

OK a couple of months on, it's happened again and this time the partial restore doesn't work. I can't think that I'm doing anything unusual with this phone, so why do I have this problem?
