Problems setting up iCloud & Outlook 2010

Hi,
I have just installed Outlook 2010 & am trying to set it up to work with iCloud. When I tick the boxes for Calendar & Contacts on the iCloud control panel & click apply it starts the set up process, but part way through I get an error message saying it can't set up due to an unexpected error. If I click cancel it leaves the boxes ticked, but iCloud does not appear in Outlook. If I click try again the iCloud control panel just constantly shows 'setting up' next to contacts & calendars. The only way to then stop it is using Task Manger. I did this before & it wiped out all my Outlook Contacts & Calander entries (fortunately I was able to get them back from my iphone using itunes).
I have tried uninstalling / reinstalling the icloud control panel, & have also tried running 'Repair' on the Office 2010 setup, but still get the same problem.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks
(PS I'm using Vista 64bit)

Hi,
I managed to get it working by doing Contacts & Calendar separately.
So, I turned Contacts on in the iCloud control panel leaving Calendar off, it did the setup correctly, then I turned Calendar on as well in the iCloud control panel & again it did the setup correctly.
Hope this helps you.
I have discovered that iCloud & Outlook doesn't work quite as well as I'd like it to - Outlook doesn't show any appointments from the iCloud calendar in the To-do bar (an Outlook problem) & I've had some problems with the categories I'd given some Contacts (not sure if the problem is in Outlook or the iCloud, but although the categories appeared, filtering based on them didn't seem to).

  • ICloud WINDOWS 7 64 Bit sync problem with calendar of Outlook 2010

    I am using
    iPhone 4S (IOS5)
    iPad 1 (IOS5)
    PC (WINDOS 7 SR1 32 bit, Cor-2-duo) & Outlook 2010, 32 bit, at home
    PC (WINDOWS 7 SR1 64 bit, Intel i7) &  Outlook 2010 version 14.0.6106.5005 (32-Bit), in my office
together with iCoud for syncing my contacts (about 500) and calenders (2 calenders, about 3.000 and 8.000 entries) with Outlook 2010
The syncing works perfect for 1., 2. an 3., but I have severe problems with the 64bit PC:
The iCloud operating pannel is only displayed after a fresh reset of the system. Two processes are running (iCloud.exe*32, iCloudServices.exe *32), the iCloud icon on the task bar is displayed.  Opening of the iCloud operating pannel fails by all means ( via icon, via network->icloud) etc. after Outlook 2010 has started once.
After closing Outlook, a restart of Outlook is perfored but displays "loading data" till infinity. The task manager is required to shut down Outlook.
After a fresh reset outlook starts (normal behavior) and displays the contacts (complete) and both calendars, but has only downloaded during set-up only about 7.000 entries of the 11.000 entries which are still displayed in the calendar of the  web interface of iCloud and are displayed nicely on iPhone, iPad and the 32bit PC. The sync of new calendar entries works perfect between all four systems.
I have removed and reinstalled the iCloud operating panel sereal times, checked the Outlook pst file for errors -> no success.
Any suggestions how to overcome this problem?

I had a similar problem back lst year with MobileMe and outlook. I had to uninstall outlook and MM control panel completely then reinstal MM THEN Outlook and then MM would download all 5 of my MM calendars into Outlook including all events
do they stop at a certain date i remember seeing an option somewhere that specified how far back to sync appointments

  • Installing iCloud, Outlook 2010, setting up contacts sync - any tips?

Last time I tried this 2 years ago, icloud sucked all my contacts out of Outlook and I had to go through big hoops to back it out.  Any tips on how to do it now?  I'm apprehensive about trying it again.  I have a group of contacts in outlook "iPhone contacts" and I want to only sync them to iCloud, not ALL my contacts. IS there a way to control this?

    Figured it out !
I finally got calendar and contact syncing to work with Outlook 2010.  See the original post for a description of the problem.  After a long walk to clear my head and consider options, I did the following:
    - Close Outlook
    - From Windows Control Panel - Uninstall the MobileMe and iCloud apps
    - Restart the system
    - Go to Apple web site - Download and re-install iCloud control panel
    - Open iCloud control panel and configure iCloud to sync Mail, Calendar, Contacts
    - Open Outlook, iCloud downloaded Contact and Calendar info
This worked for me...good luck to others who are having similar problems.

  • ICloud , Outlook 2010 and Windows 8 synchronization issues

Everything was working fine under Windows 7.  Outlook 2010 and IPad Contacts and Calendar were syncing perfectly.  Once Windows 8 was installed problems arose.  If I entered or updated a Contact or Calendar item in Outlook 2010 it synced perfectly with iCloud and the IPad.  However, if I entered data for a Contact or Calendar item on the IPad, it found its way to iCloud but did not update the item on Outlook.  I've tried reistalling iCloud software with no success.  Any ideas???

I have exactly the same problem with Windows 7.  The Sent folder has lots in it on icloud and my other devices, but is empty on the Outlook client on my PC.  The sent folder is a "special" foder for iMap and is permenantly selected for syncing.
I switched off the iCloud mail in the control panel and then added it again with now luck.
Did you manage to get it working?

  • Calender setting in ms outlook 2010

    Dear Team,
Whether i share my ms outlook 2010 calender with ms outlook 2007 ?

    Hi,
Yes, Outlook 2010 users can share Calendar to users who are using Outlook 2007. Please just note that to open a shared Calendar in Outlook 2007, the user must grant you
    Reviewer or higher permission.
Therefore, when the Outlook 2010 user share calendar to Outlook 2007, please make sure the calendar permission for Outlook 2007 user is set to Reviewer or higher:
Right-click Calendar in Outlook 2010 > Share > Calendar Permissions. Click the user and set the permission level to Reviewer or higher. Then Outlook 2007 user can open the shared calendar in Outlook.

  • Icloud outlook 2010 addin unloaded

I am using a windows desktop and have an iphone and an ipad.  The tasks have not been synching.  I removed the icloud program and reinstalled three times.  There used to be a refresh button at the top of the outlook screen which has disappeared.  I went to the addins and checked the box for icloud Outlook addin - nothing happens.  it says at the bottom the location of the addin in program files but load behavior: unloaded.  Can anyone please help

    Just figured out...
    Go to Regedit and set
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins\Apple.DAV.Addin]
    And set
"LoadBehavior" to 3 (I just copy another addin where load behavior was Load on startup)

  • I am having problems setting up iCloud with Outlook 2007.

I was able to setup the email with Outlook, but every time I try to setup the contacts.  I get the following error:
your setup could not be started because of unexpected error
This error does not occur immediately, but occurs after several steps of downloading and uploading.
If I hit the report button, it hangs. So I hit cancel after that in my retries.  I am on Windows 2007 (32-bit).

You need to leave more information like what is the ios5 device. I following instructions accidently set up two iclouds and then I couldn't get the contacts in. My mobileme email isn't going to work anymore because I set up an icloud using my store apple ID. Apparently the term apple ID can refer to any apple product ID that you make up not the one you use in the store. So you need to leave more infor on what is your problem to figure out how to help.

  • Sync problems with iCloud & Outlook 2010?

I am having sync problems with Outlook. Sync seems to cause outlook to crash, run boggy, etc. Tried Code Two software to sync which only made thing worse. Any ideas?

Another way to put it would be: What is the optimal combination when you have a Windows PC running Outlook on one hand, and want to sync contact and calendar information with your iPhone over the Internet?
Maybe I should ask, what is the least painful way of doing this?
    Is it Gmail+Outlook+some add on?
    Outlook.com + Outlook?
    Or something else?

It's recommended to download and install
Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT), which is developed by Microsoft Support teams. Once the tool is installed, you can run it at any time to scan for hundreds of known issues in Office

  • Outlook 2010 Signature: Resizes GIF-pictures when you do not have 100% dpi set on display settings

Our automatic signature tool creates signatures for all our employees. The signature works fine until people with non-100% dpi setting on display (e.g. medium 125% or Larger 150% in Control Panel > Display) try to edit their generated
signature and saves. Suddenly the images get resized and blurry, even if it is not displayed as resized when save the updated signature.
It works fine to edit and save if you have display DPI set to 100%.
The company logo is 127x38 pixels, 2,15KB GIF file.
Is this a known bug or something else? I'm not sure its fair to blame the signature-tool as it works okay before the editor has been doing its stuff.
Another strange thing. If I have edited a signature in 125% and saves it. I send an email and the signature logo is blurry.  But if I change display DPI to 100% and send another email (logoff and logon first to change dpi) then the logo is fine again.
Seems like the logo is bound to text size

Our company is having this exact same problem.  We have Outlook 2010 SP2 and Windows 7 SP1 Enterprise.  As the OP we have a signature creation tool that helps us create these HTML signatures dynamically.  OP did you ever resolve this issue?
However, in our situation our logo gif image is already 96 DPI.  Our HTML signatures work perfectly fine when Windows DPI is set to 100%.  But, as soon as you go to 125% or 150% we have problems when saving email drafts and sending emails where the
    logo increases in size.
Here is an example of the HTML code for my current signature.  Any help on this issue would be appreciated.  Is there a way to prevent Outlook from doing this when DPI is increase from default.  We have a lot of users that need to increase
the DPI to see their PC better.

  • Outlook 2010 vs icloud add-in

After updating to the latest Itunes and Icloud software, I have the following problem when starting Outlook 2010: "outlook 2010 experienced a serious problem with the 'icloud outlook add-in' add-in.
Evertything worked perfectly before the software update.
    This means nothing is syncing.
    Any suggestions?
    Regards
    Niel J

    guys I solved the issue.
    - you need to open Outlook as an Administrator
    - go to "File" then "Options"
    - "Add-ins" and "Com Add-ins"
    - Locate "iCloud Outlook Add-in"
    - Highlight it and note the exact location of the .dll file which is shown in the bar below
    - whilst the Add-in is still highlighted select "Remove".
    - select "Add" and go the location of the .dll file, the location of which you have noted, left click the file and select "OK"
    - then re-tick the "iCloud Outlook Add-in" and "OK"
    - re-start Outlook and the Refresh button should reappear
    enjoy it. :-)
