I have got problems with my pc / router since installing ois 6.1 update. My phone comapny says its not a signal strength problem as line been tested, router is fine and kids can play online with xbox ps3 etc it is just with the internet I have to keep refreshing pages, it was fine until 2 days ago

The 6.1 update should only affect your iDevice. Try this,
To reset your network settings, tap Settings > General > Reset, then scroll down and tap Reset Network Settings.
Safe to do and you will only need to reeneter your wireless network pasword(s) on your iDevice.

I can help with the "IR Receiver" part of your question. That's the piece of hardware inside older MacBook Pros (MBPs) that lets them work with the Apple Remote. "IR" is the standard abbreviation for "infrared," the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum used by remotes for many common devices (stereos, cable boxes, Apple TVs, etc.). The remote sends a coded stream of IR pulses; a corresponding receiver in the target device "sees" the infrared light and decodes it. The MBP's internal IR Receiver sends the received signals to the processor via USB through an internal hub.
The most recent MacBook Pros have dropped the IR receiver and no longer work with the Apple Remote.

Do a reset, no data loss. Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the ipad to boot back up.
If that doesn't help - settings - general - reset - reset network settings - no data loss, however you will need to reenter known wifi passwords.

you should always make a backup of data regularly, especially when upgrading to a higher version of OS X. Just because it's free has no bearing on it giving anyone any problems. The only concern you may have is not all older programs will work with 10.9 that do with 10.6. When going to your software updates on your device it will provide you with the latest available update for your device.
the iPhone 4 will update to iOS 7.0.4 provided all other updates the device is asking for has been completed.

It's an anti-virus related issue. First tried to disable only protection, firewall, etc., but it did not work fine.
As suggested, so I deleted KMS (but keeping the application settings and objects in quarantine), and was finally able to complete the installation of the update.Then installed again KMS and everything still works fine.
No experience of Wi-Fi issues.

Texting problem. Glitch with the new iOS 6.1 update

I just previously updated my iPhone 4S to the new iOS 6.1 and now when I open my texting app it is just blank. I can receive text messages but there is not way for me to send any. I have a verison network so I don't know. I have called the support line and went through so many steps to try and solve this problem but no one has a clue what's wrong. I'm pretty sure is a bug or glitch in the new update.

Start with something easy and see if it helps.
Quit the Photos app completely and reboot the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the recents tray will appear with all of your recent apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

I have recently downloaded the iOS 7.1 update and it has being causing problems with the iPhone 4s. The problems are as follows;
No Wi-Fi connection all, and in full range of a connection (If and when I connect its for 10 seconds and gone again)
Battery Life depleting quickly
iPhone freezes constantly
iPhone getting extremely hot when not in use.
Is there anything that I can do that can help with this or will I have to wait for the next iOS update?

If I restore as new without the backup & everything seems to be fine, I assume I would then have to restore it from my latest backup in iTunes in order to get all (or at least most) of my data back.
From what I have read, it looks like at least the music I have on my iPhone 4S that I put there from a CD I own would not be in my backup. That is not a major problem, since it is only 1 CD.
It also seems like the iTunes backup is more complete than the iCloud backup (I do have both).
So, I should probably be restoring from that backup.
Is there anything else that is not backed up in an iTunes backup that I should consider before I do that?
When I backup in iTunes (or even in iCloud), some items not backed up?
Wouldn't I then have to re-install those items that are not in my backups?
I have a Medical app from my local ambulance operator where I have taken a ton of time to input all of my medical information going back numerous years. I just got tired of some medical person constantly asking me for information one never really makes a point of remembering. Now, I have all of that information in my iPhone 4S.
There is no way I would want to reinstall that app & re-input all of that information again.
I also put a lot of "lists" in the Notes area on my iPhone 4S.
I understand that is also something that is not backed up.
These are just 2 examples.
I also have other items that I am under the impression also are not backed up.
Losing any of that information would be a huge burden to recover.
I am willing to take a chance with some items that are not backed up to either iTunes nor iCloud.
But, knowlingly doing something that may lose that information is not something I am willing to do.
OR, am I just not understanding what is and is not backed up in iTunes or iCloud & what I could potentially lose?

Has anyone noticed a massive battery drain problem after the iOS 6.1 update on the iPhone 4s?

I updated my iPhone 4s last night with iOS 6.1 update. This morning, the battery percentage has been falling at an alarming rate while in standby, and the phone seems to be heating up and staying at an elevated temperature while in standby. Has anyone else noticed this? This only started once I did the update. Any solutions?

Standard troubleshooting...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
Remove all apps from Recently Used list...
- From any Home Screen, double tap the home button to bring up the Recents List
- Tap and hold any icon in this list until they wiggle
- Press the red to delete apps from this list.
- Press the home button twice when done.
If still a problem restore with your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue.

Problem with new 1.03 Color update? Media offline.

I'm fairly new at using Color. I recently updated Color to 1.0.3.
and now I have a problem when I send a sequence from FCP to Color.
All the media (except graphics made in Livetype) are offline.
Before the update, everything was working fine.
Sending the project and exporting/importing a XML-file gives the
same results.
I have tried to reconnect the media, but it seems to do nothing
when I find the right clip and click "choose".
(I have some clips with variable speeds made in Final Cut, but
that didn't seem to be a problem in the earlier version. Worked just fine.)
I'm editing XDCAM 720p footage shot at 60fps.
Is anyone else having this problem? Does the update change some preferences
that I'm not unaware of?

You will not find Color 1.0.2 anywhere since Apple has released an update, unless someone has been good enough to take precautions and download the updaters first, save them, and then do installations. There is a preference within Software Update that you can first download the updates so you can then save them, then install.
Speaking of precautions, reading this thread, I'm just flabberghasted that folks don't do clones at all before updating. Had you cloned your system drive, you'd be back up and productive in less than an hour. Cloning a system drive is a well documented piece of system maintenance and it takes nothing but an investment in a harddrive (cheap these days), some free software and some time. Amazing.
That being said, certainly does seem to be a Sony-centric issue stemming from this update. You may check the other Color boards and Sony camera boards to see if other users are having these problems and if there are any solutions. You can also leave feedback for Apple. FWIW, I don't work with xdcam ex material so I've not been having these issues at all. As I said before, this update cured some ills I was having with Color and it works better than ever where I sit.

Has anyone else had problems since the latest itunes/ipod update?

since i got my ipod and itunes updated, ive had nothing but problems with my ipod. sometimes it freezes, and when i connect it to the computer its all of a sudden corrupted. Sometimes this happens when i connect it to my computer to charge, and gets stuck on the do not disconnect screen. Sometimes ill be listening to music or watching something on my ipod and itll turn off randomly for no reason, then the apple symbol will come on as if i turned the ipod on again. Right now my ipod is frozen on the do not disconnect screen, and i have no choice but to restore it, however it wont even show up on itunes when its frozen sometimes, like right now. Has anyone else had problems since the latest ipod update?

I Loved the ios 7.3 update. My battery lasted for the whole day and I use my phone a lot. I did the ios 7.3 update yesterday and my battery life is horrible. With 2 hours into my day today I was down to 80% battery and I hardly used my phone at all. I love my iphone, but this update was a horrible mistake for Apple!

Thank God that I am not the only one who lost battery life in 7.0.3.
I haven't changed settings from 7.0.0 to now. So I am not going to change settings. With that said my brightness is always at about half or lower, depending on the ambient light. Bluetooth is always off. LTE has always been on since I bought the 5 last year. Wifi stays on, connected or not. So with all these settings as they are, there has been a huge difference in battery life from 7.0.2 to 7.0.3.
I could swear that I went from 100% to 83% charge while I slept for 7 hours. ***??? Really?
I'll test it out again tonight.
I am at work and I turned off LTE for s&g. And still saw 5% drop in 40 minutes with a 2 or 3 minute use.

Do you have an Restrictions set that would hide the apps? Settings>General>Restrictions
Have you used the Spotlight search? Maybe you just can't find them.
Next
