Problems since the Update on Flash Player 11.0.1.152 (Mac)

Hello.
I have some Problems since I updated my Flash Player.
I have a MacBook Pro (Mid 2010 13" 2.66GHz). I played a Flash-Game named Zombie Lane on Google+. Since the Update it judder. A friend of mine has the same Macbook Pro, but a Mid 2011 model. As you maybe know, this model is not mentionable better.
But he does not have the same trouble as me.
If i look at the activitiy-display of the Mac, I can see that the Flash Player uses 80-100% of my CPU with an overall User-Usage of 40-50%. Isn't that a little bit to much?
I also delete the Flash Cache and uninstall Flash to install it again. But that was not a solution.
I hope you can help me...

I have spent countless hours trying to get my flash player working and have tried EVERY kind of possible answer through many forums and websites to solve this. Does adobe have anything currently that will solve this flash player problem?? I have the lastest version of Safari 5.1.1. and I have the lastest version of adobe flash player 11.0.1.152, I have even tried the debugging installs adobe put out for flash player. I have tried the "working around lion flash player video thing" where you try private browsing. I have tried going into system preferences and entering into the flash player settings in the storage tab the allow this sites, etc. NOTHING HAS WORKED!! I still get my local storage pop up message whenever I try and watch a you tube or any site that has flash video on it, that flash player settings box still pops up and is stuck on my screen and I cant click allow or deny or get it off. So many people I have read have the same problem and I only the same answers pop up that I have tried again and again, does anyone have a real resolve to this yet??? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP.

• Many problems since the update - help?

Hi all,
Let me start by saying that I am, for all intents and purposes, a huge Apple booster. I have a new 24" iMac. I have an Airport Extreme. I have an iBook G3 I use for travel (I'm a journalist) and recently handed down my old G3 iMac to my son after loading it up with RAM. I extoll Apple products because they are elegant and simple, and a pure pleasure to use.
Unfortunately, this hasn't been my experience with Apple TV since the 2.0 update.
My problems since the update include:
1) My Apple TV regularly "hangs" when trying to connect to ATV content. About 50% of the time when I try to play a song or podcast or movie preview -- whatever -- instead of connecting to it, I'll get an "Accessing iTunes Store" message which, after about 30 seconds of the little spinning icon, will inevitably revert to "The iTunes Store is currently unavailable. Try again later." I have to "back out" of the submenu (e.g., "Movies" or "Podcasts" or "TV Shows"), and enter another, different submenu before it will connect. I've tried all combinations of Airport settings ( both 2.4 Ghz and 5Ghz N, mixed b/g/n), and many different channels, but this keeps on happening. I have troubleshot my network connection with my ISP, and have tested the integrity of the line at DSL Reports. The connection and line quality is fine. Connection strength: signal = 54; noise = 92. In other words, decent.
2) When attempting to play HD Trailers, it is now hit and miss whether or not they will load. Instead of a blue progress bar, my screen goes black for about 15-20 seconds. (During this time, I cannot exit out of the action by pressing 'menu' on my Apple remote; it is effectively unresponsive.) After the 15 seconds or so are up, I get the following message: "Selected content is not available. Format is not recognized" -- or something close to this. After I exit, play an SD trailer, and then hit into the same trailer again, it will often (but not always) work.
3) Album cover art flips often "stick" when turning, especially when playing songs with long, scrolling titles. (I spent a lot of time on the phone with an Apple TV Product Specialist and, after he replicated the issue, he passed on his findings to the Apple Engineering. It is, I was informed, not high on their list of priorities
4) Unplugging and then replugging the ATV to reboot causes a small electrical spark. Needless to say, I don't tempt fate by doing this any more, and instead use the "-" and "menu" restart method.
All in all, a very disappointing experience of late. Very un-Apple.
By the way, connecting to YouTube videos and Flickr contacts ALWAYS works. No problems at all with any non-Apple site accessed through the ATV. So the problem lies with Apple.
Is anyone else experiencing similar difficulties? I'm at my wit's end with this thing. Never thought I'd be saying that about an Apple product. But I want to try and solve it, so I'm asking for help. If nothing can be done, I'm going to ask Apple to replace it, or return it.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Trust me you are not alone. Apple's "not high on their list of priorities" response is outrageous.
That was a paraphrase. The exact words, I'm afraid, I didn't write down. I wish I had, though. It was truly a beautiful example of corporate bafflegab. Something like: "since this only affects the visual aspects of the unit and not its overall performance" -- I told the (very nice) product specialist that the Apple TV was pretty well ALL AND ONLY about visuals. (FWIW, he agreed.) Anyway...

Hi,
i'm a new member of this community. I've recently learn about flashback malware and other threats to Mac devices. I've installed the new Mac OS X update for Lion 10.7, and the flashback removal tool. What about the update for Flash Player? Should i install it? Otherwise, should i permanently remove this app?
I realy need some advice.
Thank's to all.

Be sure to install the latest version of Safari (version 5.1.7) which is available via Software Update (in the Apple menu) if you have not already installed it. This update will automatically disable older versions of Flash when new versions are available, and will instruct you on how to install the latest version on your system. This should help keep your system safe from any vulnerabilities in Flash.
Note that this is only useful if you use Safari, though other browsers have their own update mechanisms you should research and enable or configure to your liking.

• How is one to safely deal with the "Update Adobe Flash Player" Pop-Up?

Good computer security practice would be to *not* click on anything in the unexpected pop-up, but instead close that window and then either:
Go to the Adobe site and download the "Update" from there -- but the site never offers "updates", it just offers downloads of the product.
Open the cited application on one's computer and use its "update" process -- but I can never find the most recent Adobe Flash Player application on my Mac. I've used Adobe's Update process multiple times in the past and the result is multiple old versions of Adobe Flash Player scattered around, but the latest version which the Adobe Flash Player test site at URL: http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ says that I have is nowhere to be found. Right now, running that test on my Mac results in the feedback: "You have version 11,0,1,152 installed"
If one does click on the "INSTALL" button in the pop-up, is the Adobe "update" process which is to run supposed to just add another "new" version of Adobe Flash Player (in some non-intuitive place), or is it also to remove the older versions, or at least the most recent older version, of Adobe Flash Player?
Is there some predictable default location where Adobe Flash Player should be installed on Mac OS X?

The download does EXACTLY what the "update" does... it downloads the full new version (about 3.6mb) and OVERWRITES the older version.
In your Library/Application Support/Adobe folder (I forget just exactly where) the plug-in installs for your installed browsers. The updater overwrites the files there.

• Since recent update, Adobe Flash Player no longer works.

Help please. Recently I received notification of updated version, latest version of Adobe Flash Player for my MacBook Pro with OS X version 10.6.8.
Flash Player was working and active prior to this update. Since downloading the update, anything requiring Flash Player just puts up a blank screen.
What to do.
So far I have uninstalled Flash Player and reinstalled, but this has made no difference.

I guess your machine is Windows 7.

• I cannot use my foxtab since i updated adobe flash player 11.1

downloaded adode flash player 11.1 and lost my firefox foxtab why?said i had old version to update new?

Hi,
You can try to update FoxTab via '''Tools''' ('''Alt''' + '''T''') > '''Add-ons''' > '''Extensions''' (on the left), right-click the name and '''Find Updates'''. Clicking on '''More''' and '''Homepage''' would take you to the add-on site. You can also try to update all the add-ons by clicking on the gear on the top right and '''Check for updates'''. If the problem persists, please try to '''Remove''' it and [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/foxtab/?src=search '''Add to Firefox'''] again.

• Problems since the updated version installed

We have recently had a pc automatically update the version of 7.0.85.100, but since that time our Sogatel Digital Cordless Skype Phone does not work correctly.
Incoming calls do not connect - and we are met with loud feedback screeching from the speaks on the phone (the settings in the options are set for USB mobile device as they always have been). The LCD screen continues to show the symbol of the ringing phone even when the call is answered (answered but not connected)....the only way to clear the screen is by quitting skype altogether
Outgoing calls do connect, but the screen again will freeze on the icon showing an outbound call is being made. The only way to clear this is again by quitting skype.
This problem is associated to the update - as we used the phone unit in another pc that still have the older version of skype and the phone worked perfectly ok. When plugged back into the pc with the new software, once again the problem occurred.
Please can you advise on how we can uninstall the updated version and revert back to the older one.

A number of other users have also reported problems with Skype phones and the latest version, although I do not recall seeing a solution.
A temporary solution is to revert to the previous working version.
This thread has downgrade instructions and tips to keep it from upgrading automatically.

• I play pogo games, I have the updated adobe flash player, but when I go to play a flash game FF states I don't have adobe flash player plug in, but I do have it..what do I do ?

Firefox keeps telling me I don't have adobe flash player, I do have it I just uninstalled and reinstalled it today

There are two version of Flash, ActiveX for IE and Plugin for other browsers. You need to install the Plugin version for Firefox.
1.Download the Flash setup file from here:
[http://fpdownload.adobe.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player.exe Adobe Flash - Plugin version].
Save it to your Desktop.
2. Close Firefox using File > Exit
then check the Task Manager > Processes tab to make sure '''firefox.exe''' is closed,
{XP: Ctrl+Alt+Del, Vista: Shift+Ctrl+ESC = Processes tab}
3. Then run the Flash setup file from your Desktop.
* On Vista and Windows 7 you may need to run the plugin installer as Administrator by starting the installer via the right-click context menu if you do not get an UAC prompt to ask for permission to continue (i.e nothing seems to happen).
• 10.4.8 - Six different Macs all with problems since the update...

We run a business which has six different Macs... all relatively new (3 yrs). Typically we run the auto updates, because that's what we're supposed to do, and we experience little if any problems.
This last update (10.4.8) has caused nothing but problems - little system hickups here and there. Programs hang. Strange screen anomolies. Laptop trackpad issues (clicks and selections when none were made). I have to say that if Apple is going the way of the Windows machine I'm not impressed - at all. Consider thoroughly test your updates before releasing them on your loyal client base. Seems like a simple concept.
Is there anything that can be done to limit the impact of the recent update. Backtracking to the last version is not an option, although setting up the system to allow for this will become a part of our workflow in the immediate future.

dual 2.0 G5's, 4.5 GB memory, ATI x800 Graphics card Mac OS X (10.4.3)

Started having problems with my Imac first power supply (replaced under warranty), then HD/Boot issue. I ran disk repair and was advised by support to try to do an immediate backup (purchase external HD) and reinstall OS from CDs. Although I purchased an external firewire HD that day, my HD failed the next day (unable to backup onto new Glyph in time) so I lost EVERYTHING.
I investigated data recovery options, but just waaay too expensive. So yes, there's nothing like a good backup plan. Lesson learned.
Today (after a nightmarish struggle to get the computer repaired--different issue) I finally got my computer back with a new HD and logic board.
So, I rushed home to start reinstalling OS and software. First installed original OS X Panther disks which incl Garageband, no problems (also set up internet to try to register all software), checked for firmware update (none), ran software updates, rebooted). Then I installed OSX Tiger (ran software update...10.4.8, etc, ), started Garageband new song one track piano (using an M-audio keyboard controller i had hooked up but had not yet installed the software drivers) and it worked! Very cool. everything was time-consuming but seemed to be working fine (and why wouldn't it on a brand new HD with all software installed via CD and all updates recommended by Apple?)
Then, I decided I would next install the GarageBand JamPack CD (before attempting to tackle external HD setup, Pro Tools, synths, etc). So, I saved the "testsong" when closing and received error "Gband unexpectedly quit" and it stopped responding (spinning color wheel). After a few minutes I was able to force quit the application (really didn't think anything of it). Then I rebooted (since it did crash, I did go back and look for a possible software update but said I was up to date).
I tried to install Gband Jam Pack (1) failed about 95% of the way through while I was trying to complete product registration online. Then I rebooted, tried again failed (during which my internet also stopped responding). I had to then reset the wireless router and cable modem, looked for help online and rebooted.
I then ran repair disk permissions (it looked like it did a few updates but I did not see any alarming "errors" flash across the screen). I rebooted and tried to install JamPack again, failed, and rebooted (and looked online for another suggestion).
removed folder: application support/gband/loops/Gband Jampack/ folder into trash then tried to install jampack again, failed, and rebooted.
removed folder again, ran repair disk utility (did not look like it made any updates or report any errors), rebooted. Tried to install again and failed and rebooted, emptied trash and rebooted again.
I am now running repair disk utility one more time (10 solid hours into the software installation process ....my internet just stopped responding again so I apparently have to reset the wireless router again just before trying to send this message). I will run repair one more time, and completely power off computer for a couple of hours while I grab some sleep before work.
But, now I am seeing all these SCARY stories about the 10.4.8 update I just installed?!.
Are these problems related? Can someone please help me? Surely it cannot be this difficult. Thank you!

• Flash problem since Firerfox update to 3.6.11

My website is www.mundesley.org and on the homepage, there are two flash boxes on the right. When viewed in Internet Explorer 8 all is OK. However, when viewed on a laptop running Win7,and using Firefox v.3.6.11, only one of them is working. The same problem applies to a flash photogallery on the "Pictures" page.
I also have another laptop running Win XP and using Firefox v.3.6.8 and everything works OK.
The plug-in on the 3.6.11 version is Shockwave flash 10.1.102.64 and on the 3.6.8 version it is Shockwave Flash 10.1.85.3
I have compared all the internet options tabs on both PCs and can see no differences. All the flash media has been embedded in the same way on the site.
This problem has only happened since the update to 3.6.11 to Firefox and update to Adobe flash 10.1.102.64. I posed the question to the Firefox forum and received the following reply:-
I see a loading message flashing and then a blank window.
The loop.swf Flash movie doesn't seem to be compatible with the latest Flash Player 10.1 r102.
I can see it working with versions 10.1 r82 and 10.1 r85 , but not with 10.1 r102.
You may need to ask advise on the Adobe Flash forum to find out what you need to change.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Geoff.,

Hi Lee,
Thanks for the replies.
Actually, I think I may have found the answer, your second suggestion led me to it.
The software which I used to create the flash is Ipixsoft and even their own demos were not working. A quick email to them elicited the reply that they have now updated their software to accommodate the new version of flash! I am about to download it and see what happens.
Many thanks again.
Geoff.
