Problems stitching avi's using QTP and Mpeg Streamclip
Hi all,
As the title suggests, i'm having some issues stitching avi files.
I have 2 groups of files (previously ripped dvds) that are in avi format. Once movie is in 2 sections, the other in 3. Heres what happens when I try and stitch...
In QTP:
Save as/export to (whatever format I use) the movie starts, after a second or two the picture freezes but the audio continues.
In Mpeg SC:
Exporting or saving again regardless of the format used, when playing in QTP I get picture (without freezing this time), but no sound at all!
Confussed! I've checked sound export settings in MSC and its set to MP2, so all should be well - i can't work out whats going wrong! Any help would be appreciated!
I'm using the following sofware:
MSC 1.9.2
QTPro 10.1
OSX 10.7.4

Please specify audio and video compression formats used in the source AVI files and the target file audio and video compression formats and target file type.

I can get itunes to start if I disable Bonjour or if I "repair" it first. Sometimes I can repair Bonjour though add/remove programs, sometimes it will only "repair" using WinRar. Sometimes I have to "repair" Bonjour 2 or 3 times to get iTunes to start.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling at least a dozen times. I have tried redownloading iTunes at least 5 times and from different links. This leads me to believe that the dnssd.dll file is not itself corrupt, but this newest version is causing a conflict with XP somewhere somehow.
Team, iTunes 10.2.2.12 has just been released. I installed it and checked, and BonJour's been updated to version 2.0.5.0, and there's a new 2.0.5.0 version of dnssd.dll on my system. So I reckon it's worth a try updating to that to see if it's of any help with your trouble. -
Problem in audio conferencing using Flex and FMS3.0
Hi Everyone,
I am trying to achieve audio conferencing using Flex and
FMS3.0
Currently I am following an approach where all the persons in
voice conference publish their voice on flash media server using
NetStream.Publish() function and all persons listen to the streams
published by all other members in the conference using
NetStream.Play() function. I am using a shared array on server side
to keep track of all the persons present in the conference. The
problem I am facing is that sometimes all the persons are able to
hear the voice of each other but other times audio of some persons
is not audible to others. Even if voice comes then there is echo
and one can hear the sound 3-4 times depending on the amplitude of
the sound. I have also used Microphone.setUseEchoSuppression(true)
to suppress the echo but it is not effectively suppressing it. If
someone has faced similar problems in past please let me know the
solution. Thanks in advance.

I searched all over my harddrive to find something named like org.apache or jdbc.clientDriver...and so on..with no result.
and I unziped derby.jar or derbyclient.jar etc.. also with no result.
It's like the driver has hiden somewhere like viruses...at least to me..

AVI to Apple TV Conversion (mpeg Streamclip not working for me)
Hi all,
I have .avi video I'd like to watch on Apple TV. I tried using MPEG Streamclip as I read about on the forum, but when I convert the file on the default settings all I get is audio; the picture is blank.
Any thoughts?I should add that I don't see any video when I import it to Streamclip, just the dice logo.
Wierd! In that case, it sounds like the problem may be MPEG Streamclip and its access of the QT components. Which version do you have installed? Do QT components comply with MPEG Streamclip recommendations? Is Perian installed and if so did you get rid of any potential component conflicts as recommended on its site? -
Spinning beach ball and MPEG Streamclip
I've downloaded MPEG Streamclip to transfer some Video TS files from a DVD. The files are copied to my desktop and I've tried to open the files using MPEG Streamclip and all I get is the spinning beach ball.
Any ideas on how to get these files to open?

DI'm afraid that it might be copyrighted material, though I was told that it wasn't.
I tried opening up the two VOB files together, the ones Streamclip highlighted, and continued to get the beach ball, then I opened the files individually. One file gave me timecode break warnings but eventually opened up as the title menu. The other file gives me the spinning beach ball.

Problem with Join Queries using PHP and an Orcale Database
Ok, I am trying to build a simple php querying tool for my oracle database and for the most part it is working however I am having a problem getting data from my join queries. If I run the following query :
QUERY:
SELECT lastfirst,EnteredBy,Debit FROM students sts JOIN GLDetail gl ON gl.studentid=sts.id
RESULT SET:
Lastfirst EnteredBy Debit
caiu, test 204 1
But when I run the query correctly I get no results
QUERY:
SELECT sts.lastfirst,gl.EnteredBy,gl.Debit FROM students sts JOIN GLDetail gl ON gl.studentid=sts.id
RESULT SET:
sts.lastfirst gl.EnteredBy gl.Debit
and if I run the query combining the two above methods and adding a field (schoolid) that has the same name on both table I get the following result sets

Therefore, I have to have something written incorrectly in my php code and I just can not figure it out. My entire code is pasted below please provide me with an assistance you might have to offer. I have change the odbc_connec line so I could post it to this forum. In addition, I had to phrase out the column headers there for when you write the column headers you have to use ~ instead of , as the separator and then I turn back into the correct format for sql.

Urgent: Performance problem with where clause using IN and an OR condition
Select statement is:

If I modify the statement to remove the "or (:1 is null))" part at the bottom of the where clause, it returns in .16 seconds. If I modify the statement to only contain the "(:1 is null))" part of the where clause, it returns in .02 seconds. With the whole statement above, it returns in 477 seconds. Anyone have any suggestions?

PeterThanks for the reply, but I have already checked what you are suggesting and I am pretty sure those are not causing the problem. The hr2.full_name column has an upper index and the (4) line of the explain plan shows that index being used. In addition, that part of the query executes on its own quickly.
Because the sql is not displayed in an indented format on this page it is a little hard to understand the structure so I am going to restate what is happening.

The :1 bind variable is set to a varchar2 entered on the screen of an application.
If I execute either part of the sql without the OR condition, performance is good.
If the :1 bind variable is null with the whole sql statement (so all rows or a_table are returned), performance is still good.
If the :1 bind variable is a not-null value with the whole sql statement, performance stinks.
As an example:

Simple Problems of oracle 8i using Rman and so.................

1- I create a user RMAN. I grant him a quota on rman and on rman_temp tablespace; grant him a dba, sysdba, recovery_catalog_owner role. Then I connect it to target. Then I create catalog, then register database then type a command of list (LIST COPY OF DATABASE and LIST BACKUP OF DATABSE) it shows me nothing. ok.
Then I take a whole backup of a database with the command
Run {
Allocate channel c1 type disk;
Backup
Format d:\backup\whole_%d_%s_%p.bak
(Database) ;}
This command shows me allocating channel and then processing backup Then this commend ended successfully. And it shows me files physically of my desire path. Then I query a command of LIST for showing me my backup details (LIST BACKUP OF DATABSE). But it shows me nothing. No details about my backup. But the file is still physically there at my given path.
This is the same story with copy command it physically create a file there but do not show it with LIST COPY OF DATABASE command.
It is not a story of a single Computer I changed it and do the same stuff with the others but the result is same. But I got desire results on one Computer but next day I got another problem with this Computer. I type a command of list backup it shows me the results. It has two backup pieces. I tried to delete them with change command by allocating channel for delete type disk. And then change backupset 605(backup set no) delete;. It shows me that he deleted that file form path but when I query of list backup it show me the same results which it show me before delete. Then I tried to delete second set which is still there I would not allow me to delete that set and give a error that catalog does not have the information about that file but list command show me both pieces. I do manual resync catalog command but no difference on results.
Then I take another whole backup at another place, and query to get its information but list command does not show the results. It shows me the old results. Then I take a backup of a single data file and query but the result is same.
I also tried to delete that copy data file by change command but it says that recovery catalog do not have the information about that file.
2- If we allocate more then one channels for backup on a same drive what will be the behavior of those channels.
Will them not working parallel. And tell me that it is true that channels will work parallel when they are writhing information on different drives (different drive means that two different hard drives physically).
Syntax of all commands is writen,I tallied it by book.<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<3- What is O stands for in crosscheck command? A stands for available U Stands for Unavailable and O Stands for? In a status column.
4- Please tell me a single command to delete all tables of a user. (Single command..)
We are using ORACLE 8i (8.1.7.0.0) Version for practice.

Problems with JDev 11g using JBOSS and ANT

I'm trying to migrate to JDev 11g with JBoss ( version 7.X ) as the AppServer
With JDev 10g all works fine with JBoss, even the Remote Debug, all OK
here is the problems I have :
1) ANT
JDev doesn't save my ANT settings
every time I launch ANT : Run Ant Target - I must set the Advance settings
JDev 10g I only need to do that once, the settings are saved but not in the 11g, why ?
2) persistence

The reason you can't run the application on WLS is that you have not installed the adf runtime on your wls. The error 'application.xml: [Extension-Name: adf.oracle.domain, exact-match: false].' points to this.

(Another) problem with custom painting using JApplet and JPanel

I posted regarding this sort of issue yesterday (http://forums.sun.com/message.jspa?messageID=10883107). I fixed the issue I was having, but have run into another issue. I've tried solving this myself to no avail.
Basically I'm working on creating the GUI for my JApplet and it has a few different JPanels which I will be painting to, hence I'm using custom painting. My problem is that the custom painting works fine on the mainGUI() class, but not on the rightGUI() class. My code is below:

Tristan PerryMany thanks for reminding me about the error catching - I've added a System.out.println() call now. Anywhoo, the catch block never gets run; the image get call works fine.
My problem was/is:

I guess I should have expanded on that. Basically whatever I try to output in the public void paintComponent( Graphics g ) method of the rightGUI class doesn't get output.
So this doesn't output anything:

I've checked and experimented with setOpaque(false), however this doesn't seem to be caused by any over-lapping JPanels or anything.

Problem inserting a clob using bpel and database adapter
We are having issues inserting a clob field into the database when the data is over 4000 characters. Anything under 4000 characters works fine.
The error we are seeing is "Error while converting to a Java struct object. Unable to convert XSD element P_RESPONSE_ARRAY_ITEM whole user defined type is QC_CRCBT_PKG_RESPONSE_TYPE. Cause: java.lang.ClassCastException: oracle.sql.CLOB; nested exception is: ORABPEL-11802"
We are using BPEL 10.1.3.3 and a database adapter. THE PL/SQL parameter decomposes to a clob type. Again, anything under 4000 characters works fine.
Any ideas?This is likely due to Bug-6629539, which has just been identified and fixed in 11. You can request a one-off patch for this bug (i.e. a BLR off of the 10.1.3.3.0 release label).

Problem connecting to rdp using RemoteApp and Desktop
I am having trouble connecting to a remote app server using the Remote App and Desktop connections feature on 2012 R2. It is a domain server. It works with most user but not with a few. I can put the web address in it ask for and it comes up and says error
in connecting. please contact admin. I have tried signing off and rebooting the physical server. but no luck on it connecting. I can get it connect through the internet site and on a different server. How to fix when there is no error number.

Forgot to deinterlace video in MPEG Streamclip -- do I have to start over?
I realize this is the FCE forum and I used iMovie, but I thought maybe some of you more advanced users could help me.
I have a Panasonic SDR-H18 which records in MPEG-2 format. During my first foray into using iMovie and MPEG Streamclip, I made a rather long movie but didn't realize I had to check the "Deinterlace video" option in Streamclip.
As a result, I now have a finished iMovie movie which I really like, but the results of failing to deinterlace are horribly noticeable when the DVD is played on a TV.
I'm just wondering, short of starting from scratch -- converting all the virgin clips and deinterlacing this time -- and doing it all over again, do I have another solution? Is anyone aware of a way I could somehow run my finished movie through Streamclip and deinterlace it, so I wouldn't have to start over?I'm not sure what specifications you mean -- I just left the settings the way they were in the convert to DV menu.
That said -- the fact is, the interlacing lines are there, and I'm wondering if there's a way to get rid of them on a project I've already finished. I already know how to prevent them in the future. -
Using AVI files in FCP and the 3ivx codec

My video camera only films in .AVI files which the Mac cannot 'see' although the audio is fine. From my research it seems like the only codec available to allow you to 'see' the video on .AVI is the 3ivx codec which I downloaded before and which worked fine but then the trial ran out and left nasty watermarks all over my files which were a pain to get rid of. Is buying the codec the only thing to do? Has anyone bought the codec, so I know it's a safe website?
What I had been doing to avoid the codec was using iSquint to convert to mp4 and then using that file in editing software, then converting that to a youtube friendly file and then on to youtube itself, meaning that all the compression left the youtube video very very blurry.
Is the codec my only option?

And have you tried Perian yet? It will allow Quicktime to read 3ivx along with many other otherwise unsupported codecs. Suck it and see ... some users have issues with Perian installed, others get along with it just fine.
Converting to mp4 for editing is not recommended, nor is editing in 3ivx or any AVI wrapped codec for that matter. Convert it instead to a proper intraframe editing codec (such as good old fashioned DV) ... you can use the free MPEG Streamclip for this
