I have problems streaming some movies from neflix. network it's OK.

Oh and I can't do anything on iMovie becaue the App runs slow and the movies audio isn't in sync with the video.

Did you try booting off your Install disk holding the c key down. From here you can get to the drop down menu just a few clicks in (you are not going to install) and run the Disk Utility>Repair Disk. See if it will let you do this.

Problem streaming HD Movies to Apple TV through home network

Got my new Apple TV yesterday but has some quirks. The biggest one is I'm in the middle of watching an iTunes HD movie I own -- streaming it to my Apple TV on my home network -- and the video starts stuttering halfway through the movie. It was playing with no sound, the video was jumpy, etc.
I stopped the movie, unplugged the Apple TV, tried playing the movie again -- I did this a couple of times -- and same result. This issue didn't happen until about an hour into the movie -- for the first hour of the show it played perfectly. Just before the movie, I'd watched an HD TV show I downloaded from iTunes earlier in the day, and was streaming this to my new Apple TV over the home network, and it played fine.
The other issue I'm seeing is it takes a looooooooooong time to load my iTunes Library from my computer. I selected my shared library, and then it takes about five times (or more) as long to load the list of movies compared to my older Apple TV (the previous generation 160GB hard drive model).
Is anyone else seeing these issues, and is there a fix?

I am having the same problem streaming HD anything, Movies or TV shows. It seems to try to buffer more of the video than when using SD video anything. When playing SD anything, it seems to start playing very soon after pressing play.
My content is on a spring 2009 iMac
CPU 2.93 GHz
4GB RAM
OS 10.5.8
Network
Wireless N (G,B 2.4 GHz) No G or be devices on network presently not switching to N only because iPhone 3GS doesnt 'support N.
Airport Extreme (man BS) -> Airport Extreme (Extend Network mode) -> Airport Extreme (Join Network Mode).

Problems streaming video (after 5-10 mins)

Hi,
I used to have no problems streaming video (hulu, espn3 etc), but recently my quality starts dropping out after 5-10 mins. It starts off fine but then the video starts getting jumpy then the audio starts to fuzz out. If I refresh the browser and even restart. the problem can still be there.
Does anyone know what the problem could be? Is there any chance that this not an issue with my computer, but with my internet connection?

I too am having this same issue. I have only started having it after installing Lion. I am forced to restart my computer if I wish to watch a video. I have no solutions!

E1500 wireless router having problems streaming video and netflix

We got a new E1500 router 2 nights ago. The internet works fine, but it has big trouble streaming videos and Netflix, those types of things. I have changed my MTU setting and all the settings suggested in the "Guide Me" section. My drivers are up to date on my router and on my pc. It just started happening with this router. We had a Netgear before and we have no problems streaming at all. I have rebooted and reset the router and cable modem.
Does anyone else have some suggestions I can try?

The concern that you have is for both wired and wireless or just for the wireless? If it is for wireless then try these troubleshooting steps:
A] With the help of Cisco Connect Software (if at all you have installed the router with the help of this software)
1] Open the software and go to the option which says "Router Settings"
2] Then click on the option which says "Advanced Settings" which will take you to the router's configuration page.
3] Then go to the Wireless tab, change Channel width to 20 MHz only and change the Channel to 6, 9, 11...Save the settings..
B] If you haven't installed Cisco Connect then you can log on to the router's user interface using it's default IP address in the browser which is 192.168.1.1 and type in 'admin' as the password leaving the username field blank. This will take you to the router's web interface and then follow steps as mentioned above to make the changes.
Then check the status of streaming video and netflix.

Problem streaming podcast to iPhone/iPad

Some of the listeners of my podcast (http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/instaflicka-podcast/id373911029)have been complaining that they are not able to stream it to the iPhone or iPad recently. They don't seem to have problems streaming other podcasts, just mine. I set it up with iTunes following all of the steps provided there and syndicate it using FeedBurner. Is there something else I need to be doing to resolve this issue?

Problem streaming to speakers

Hello,
Since having downloaded the new version of iTunes, I have been unable to stream wireless to my wireless speaker setup. When opening iTunes application, a error message pops up with, 'the iTunes volume is currently turned all the way down. To change the volume, drag the slider at the top of the iTunes window'.
For some reason it turns itself down when the application is opened, and when I turn it back up, it seems to connect but no sound is emitted from the speakers...

I have 1 airport express connected to the router and have no problems with wireless internet reaching my imac or laptop anywhere in the house.
What is the make & model of the router the first AirPort Express Base Station (AX) is connected to? Is this router wireless? Do you have the AX connected to it by Ethernet? ... or wireless? If wireless, is the AX configured to "join" the other router's wireless network?
I had a second airport express connect to the old stereo and had no problem streaming music to those speakers.
How was this second AX configured? That is, was it configured to "join" the other router or the first AX's wireless network? ... or to extend the first AX?
I plugged the 2nd airport express into the powered speakers.
This alone should not have affected the AX. Did you happen to make any other configuration changes besides switching from the stereo to these speakers?

My macbook has problems streaming video when using an external monitor

I have a MacBook from 2007. I have a converter so that the MacBook can be connected to an external monitor, and have connected it to my TV. This works fine, but if I am streaming videos and trying to watch on the TV, the streaming becomes very choppy, almost like the wireless connection is too slow. If I unplug the computer from the TV, however, the streaming returns to normal. I previously connected to a TV with an S-video connection and the problem did not seem as prominent. Now I am connecting to a HD tv using an HDMI connection.
Any suggestions for how to alleviate this? I haven't updated or upgraded the memory or RAM, possibly that would help? Would the amount of files I am storing be causing the problem? I currently have 50 GB available.

Make sure your Mac is set to a resolution and frequency that your monitor supports.
The other possibility is that your graphics card is fried, but that seems unlikely since your computer is new. Before too long, you should make sure your graphics card is OK using the Apple Hardware Test, but I'm not sure how reliable that is because it claims that my partially broken graphics card is OK.

Mini adapter to HDMI cable into my tv. No problem streaming movies last night, today all I see is some default apple background on my tv. Don't know quite what to do in System Pref's and Appearances. Please Help

I know its an issue with the computer because when I messed with Appearance settings in System Preferences, the tv picture changed.

How were you "streaming movies last night"? (What application?)
It may also be useful to know your specific iMac model, and the version of Mac OS X it runs. This list may help identify your iMac model.

So, this is an iMac, and you have an HDTV attached to it as its second screen... Is that correct?
Typically, if the HDTV is acting as the iMac's second screen, it is extending the Desktop. I'm thinking that when you had "no problem" last night, it was set so that the second screen was mirroring what was on the iMac's screen (NOT extending the Desktop). In other words, if you had the movie playing at full screen on the iMac's screen, the same thing appeared on the HDTV screen.
You may have changed that setting so that it is not mirroring anymore. The second screen would then be extending the Desktop. In that case, you would see the "default Apple background" on it until you moved something onto that part of the Desktop (like an open window).
Open System Preferences Displays pane. Go to the Arrangement tab. If the diagram there shows representations of two screen (the iMac's screen and the HDTV screen), the HDTV is set to extend the Desktop. The setting (checkbox) for mirroring should be there, toward the bottom.
However, mirroring is probably NOT the best setting for your setup. If what I wrote so far has been relevant for your original question, you can post back for additional info...

Problem streaming music with New Apple TV- Anyone else?

I am new to Apple TV. I have been using a Sony BDP580 (DLNA) to stream my FLAC digital music via a wired LAN. It works flawlessly. I just got the new Apple TV for streaming. I set it up and home shared with my Itunes library containing AIFF digital music via same wired LAN. It sees everything but each time I start a song, it plays for about 35 seconds and then starts studdering and hestitates, finally stopping altogether and displays an error message saying, "An error occurred loading this content. Try again later." This happens everytime, with any song I select.
I assumed this was a buffering problem, so I tried same songs again but this time paused them immediately after starting the song. If I paused for 15-20 seconds, I got about 2.5-3 minutes of music before it did it's studdering thing and stopped altogether. If I paused for 90 seconds or so, I could get thru an entire 10 minute song. Seems to confirm a buffering problem.
I have not tried streaming MP3's yet but that is not my intention.
I realize that the software is new but this is basically unuseable as it currently functions. I am considering trying to return the the Apple TV. Are there similiar kinds of problems when new Apple TV software is released? If so, is Apple quick with fixes and updates?
By the way, I also got a new IPAD and love it.

I have an older PC with Windows XP Professional on it. I updated to the latest iTunes and I am able to access the photos, etc. on it. However, my Windows 7 PC still does work (since last Apple TV update). Apple TV does not recognize that Home Sharing is turned here. The latter PC has all my current photos on it which I would like share with others on my Apple TV. A fix would be appreciated.

Problem streaming sound only to Apple TV

Macbook Pro with Retina Display running 10.10.1
- I can see my itunes lib through home sharing and is able to play movies, see photos without any issue.
- I can mirror my desktop using airplay and play movies and music without any issues.
The issue comes when I try to stream sound only on to Apple TV. I have the ATV connected to my audio player and stream Spotify. The sound is choppy and broken. Going against my instinct I purchased a new router (Asus RT-AC68U) which obviously was not the issue since airplay was working on when I mirror my desktop.
After a couple of hours with apple support, I saw on the forum that some people has issues with bluetooth. I TRIED TURNING OFF BLUETOOTH AND IT FIXED THE SOUND STREAMING TO ATV. I have an apple blue tooth mouse.
I tried both shortcuts, from preferences - sound - output and Apple TV and using Option + Sound Icon to select Apple TV instead of internal speakers. Both have the same problem.
I hope its a software issue rather than a hardware one and it can be updated soon.

A Follow up on this issue , bluetooth also stops AirPlay from working reliably.

I have recreated the DP based on the best practice for removing the DP and re-adding, as we've had other app issues which needed tidying up, but that has not fixed this issue.
I have searched for the above error (The client was unable to connect to an Application Virtualization Server (rc 2460410A-40002EFD) but I get no results.
Please help me with this, I've deleted the DP content and re distributed the content to the DP with no change.. If I remove the DP, the content is able to be streamed from other DP's no problem.

It looks as though this may have been sorted out - A re bind of the computer cert on the DP to the default website https binding seems to have resolved this for me.

Problems streaming mp3's

Hi,
I'm having some trouble with streaming mp3's and clicking
links at the same time. It seems that while the mp3 file is
downloading it's impossible to click on links, it freezes until the

I've tried embedding the player using the SWFobject method in
javascript, cross domain streaming... and nothing seems to work.
The player is streaming the mp3 using loadSound(location, true);
and the location is fed using an xml file.

No surprise at all - these are two different technologies for two entirely different purposes.
A podcast is meant for files to be downloaded to a user's computer so that they can be listened to at any time or transfered to an iPod. A streamed file is more like a radio broadcast - it can only be listened to while the streaming server is "broadcasting" the file to the client computer.
If you want to take advantage of both options you'll need to upload your file to two different locations.

Problem streaming MP3 with flash and IE7

Ok, I have a big problem here. Only occurs with Internet
Explorer 7 and possibly 6 too. Happens only on some systems, one of
mine do that, I have 3 systems.
I have a website that opens a window that streams a webradio
from another website. The websites are not on the same server. When
I first open IE, and click on the radio link that contains de flash
file that loads the MP3 file to stream, it works. I close down the
window, re-open the link, and it keeps loading (the little circle
keeps rotating for ages). I have latest version (9.0.47.0) of flash
player installed, like my other systems. If I close all instances
of explorer and open the radio link again, it works ! But at the
moment I close down the new window (there's another explorer opened
at that moment), and open it again, it won't work.
Seems to be either explorer OR flash to be faulty, I tried 4
different flash player, they all do the same thing, so it's not the
flash player (SWF file) that loads the MP3. Is there a solution? Is
it a known problem??

I am having problems streaming music to my apple tv (1st and 2nd gen). The music cuts in an out after a while of playing. Any suggestions?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.
