Problems syncing contacts etc

Hello,
I have got a problem syncing my Address Book contacts, iCal and Safari bookmarks to my iPad 2. When I select to sync this information in the 'Info' field when connected to iTunes, I get the following message:
'Are you sure you want to remove 49 apps from the iPad “Nico Juetten’s iPad”? This will delete these apps and their data from the iPad.'
I get the same if I use the Advanced option.
(iPad software is 4.3.3 (8J2) and iTunes is 10.2.2 (12), running on MacBook Pro with Snow Leopard 10.6.7)
Can anyone help please?
Thanks,
Nico

Are the iPad applications on the Mac? Do you also selected syncing the Apps?
You can transfer the purchased items from the iPad: Right-click on the iPad in iTunes (on the left side) and hit "Transfer Purchases from .." (Have a look at the Support Document)

  • Outlook 2011 problem syncing contacts with address book

I am aware that Lion has broken the sync ability of Outlook 2011 with Address Book. Hopefullly this will be fixed at some point.
So my problem is that I have decided to use a workaround to get my Address Book contents into Outlook 2011. I am not concerned with further syncing at this point. I just want to get my addresses into Outlook and hope a better fix is offered at some point.
About the only way I could figure out how to do this was to export my Address Book as vCard. I then imported the vCard file into Gmail and then exported that as a CSV file. It contained 550 addresses. I opened it in Excel and it contained 550 rows. Great so far.
I then Imported into Outlook 2011 and chose import a text file. When the mapping window opened, it showed over 890 files instead of 550 and the fields were not mapped correctly. I could not complete the import because it was so screwed up.
So I'm back to square one and very frustrated. There must be others who have the same issue and maybe have figured out a way to do this. Please help.

  • Problems Syncing Contacts Across iOS 8

Hey guys (I'll keep this as brief as possible),
In case you need to know my device models/OS to help me, here they are:
    iPhone 6 (iOS 8.0.2)
    iPad 3rd Gen (iOS 8.0.2)
Macbook Pro w/ Ret (OS X Mav 10.9.5)
I've been trying to sync "Contacts" across all 3 devices via iCloud to no avail.  I've edited my iPhone contacts list extensively, so I'm trying to sync that over to my iPad and my Macbook Pro, but it's not working.  On both the iPhone and iPad, I've turned the "Contacts" toggle off and then on under the iCloud tab in settings, and that didn't do anything.  I don't think it's a problem with iCloud, because it's updating my "Reminders" across all 3 devices just fine, but isn't taking any of my contact adjustments that I'm making on my iPhone.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks for your time, everyone!
    Kind Regards,
    Niloy

You probably already have done this: Within the Contacts app on the iPad and iPhone, click on Groups (top left corner) and make sure you have iCloud ticked.
I don't know if this is important, but under Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars, scroll down to the Contacts section and see if your Default Account is iCloud.
I did do that early on.  I eventually got it solved, though.  But I really appreciate you trying to help, my friend.  Thank you!

  • Problems syncing Contacts from Mac to iphone - popup says script error MM

Hi, when I did my initial sync from my MBP to the iphone all worked great. But when I made some changes to my Address Book on the MBP yesterday and did a manual sync, those changes were not picked up by the iphone - I tried several times So I logged onto MM to check, clicked on the Contacts icon and got a busy symbol. The folder headings of my address book appeared then I had a popup appear to say that a script was having a problem on the page and I could continue or stop it. I tried continue a few times and eventually had to stop it, the busy symbol just continued. My contacts were never displayed. I tried it this morning and it is the same, is this the cause of my syncing probs and if so how do I fix it.
Many thanks in advance for your help.

Are you syncing contacts direct with the Address Book on your Mac via the iTunes sync process, or over the air with MM on your iPhone?
If you are doing the former, this has nothing to do with a problem with your MM online address book.
If you are doing the former, try resetting the sync history on your Mac, which is done via iSync preferences with the iSync application located in your Applications folder.
    Quit iTunes and launch iSync.
At iSync preferences, select reset sync history.
Restart your Mac and try syncing with iTunes again.

  • New pocketmac 4.1 and problems syncing contact pics and no full powerPC support.

i just got the new pocketmac 4.1 in hopes that it would support syncing of 'contact images'.  I have set up my apple address book to show an image for each of my contacts and was hoping it would be able to sync over.  (doing this manually would take way too long).
to my surprise there was finally a checkbox option to enable syncing of contact images.
to my dismay, even though '2 way sync' is checked, contact images are only synced 1 way.  blackberry --> address book.
is there any way to get it to sync bb <---> address book or address book ---> bb?
edit: it also seems as though this newer version doesn't FULLY support the older PowerPC architecture as "datapurgeUI" isn't a UB.  it won't run at all on my powerbook g4.  this leaves me with no way to clear my blackberry's calendar (which is full of dupes)
Message Edited by s0ldats on 08-18-2008 12:28 AM

I'm surprised at what you mentioned about only syncing contact images from BB to AddressBook. Frankly I only thought it worked the other way as that's what mine has done.
Could your BB be set to overwrite the Mac so it's only pulling the contact images in one direction?
I just got this link from PocketMac for the previous version of DataPurgeUI http://www.yousendit.com/download/bVlEV0o5OW5samRMWEE9PQ
so help yourself. It's appalling that they don't mention this anywhere in their documentation. It's also strange that this is only available off of some file sharing site and not from Pocketmac or RIM directly.

  • Problems syncing contact list

My iPhone 3GS running on 5.0.1 won't update my contact list while syncing to my iMac (10.6.8).  This just happened after a recent update. It syncs the calendar and other applications.

The iPhone is not designed to be the master - the iPhone is designed to be compliment for your computer with the ability to sync contacts and calendar events direct with a supported application on your computer via the iTunes sync process with the supported application on your computer being the "master" for this data, which should be included with your computer's backup along with all other important data.
Contacts are not stored by iTunes. Which supported address book application on your computer were you syncing contacts with and is used for storing and accessing contacts on your computer? Is the supported address book application on your computer up to date for your contact info?

  • Hy, i have 2 problems, Sync Contacts and My Storage...

    Hello...
    I have 2 problems...
    First!!!
I have syncronized my contacts, but when i modify for exaple the photo of contact from my iphone, the icloud not sync and if i add a addres the icloud not change...
    Second!!!
I'm a mobileMe user and i pay the year, but i didn't recived the 20GB!!!
    PLEAAAAASSEEE SOME ONE HELP!!!
Exist some email addres that i can report this?

    Hi,
Thank you for taking an interest in my problem.
What actually transpired was my Macpro (contacts) would not update after I put changes in to contacts in either iphone or ipad. Apple checked and discovered that changes made in either macPro (contacts) and contacts(cloud.com) did not talk to each other so concentrated on this.
The rep had me signout of my macpro user account, and create a temp new user to which I signed into my icloud account as normal. Then, changes in either macpro or cloud.com now worked. He then did some changes at his end and after exiting the temp user and resigning in as origal macpro user this now made changes to each other. OK. We then deleted the temp user and this worked! but since then I have discovered that iphone and ipad now do not change icloud.com contacts or calendar so would not of course change contacts on macpro!
Other services on icloud (photo stream, mail, docs and data, find my ----, etc) all function with my iphone (so have to presume my ipad also, but this is not with me at this time)  so the problem is confined to just contacts and calendar.
In summary, I do have only one icloud address but which appears to have two sets of data as the devices will communicate with something but not altogether!!
I am thoroughly confused, especially as it was all fine until I upgraded from M\Lion to Mavericks on my shiny new macpro a few weeks ago. I  had moved from Windows to Apple to avoid just such problems.
Not enamoured with Apple at the moment, but thank you for your assistance - hope this is a better explanation.
    Kind Regards

  • New iPhone 5 will not sync contacts, etc

Just upgraded from the 3's to the 5's for 2 phones. One phone activated without a problem but the second one has nothing but problems!
First it would not go through all the steps to activate it. Was getting hung up with the sync and stayed frozen in "connected to iTunes". After contacting Apple they suggested to "restore" the phone. We did and it finished the activation and is now activated with our carrier.
However, it did not sync over any contacts, mail, etc. The first phone sync'd everything, including old text messages!
What do I need to do to get all that to the new phone?
We had a (dot) ME account that my wife and I shared with the phones (use same password etc). When dot me transitioned to iCloud everything still worked fine on both phones. I use a separate Apple ID for iTunes and our ME account for iCloud. My wife uses the same password for both but it is not the iCloud password. It worked on the iPhone 3 fine.
    * Side note - every time we did upgrades on the old phone my wife's phone always had problems. Not sure if something is just not set up correctly . . .
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Jim

I do not have an iphone 5 but a 4s so I'm not sure if this is really applicable. I had the same issue with my Iphone when I bought it and learned after trying many things that the real issue was the adapter.
I thought that the issue was the phone itself and was just waiting for the chance to turn back in. I was too busy. After about two weeks with the phone, my adapter was visibly damaged. I say visibly because I now believe that it was damaged before it was bought but I did not notice this. In any event I bought a new one at a tech store since I needed to charge the phone in the very least and what do you know? The phone synced and is working beautifully since.

  • Contact Sync problem - Syncing contacts TO Outlook 2013 stopped working, whilst syncing contact FROM Outlook 2013 to iPhone still works.

    I've tried everything...
iPhone version: 5S with latest OS (v.8.1).
Outlook version 2013, on Windows 7, latest iTunes version (12.x)
I prefer NOT to use iCloud (as the representation of iCloud contacts in Outlook ignores the contacts' folder division, which is important to me).
I have an Exchange server, though the sync is directed to my local Outlook client.
All other settings looks good (again, syncing FROM Outlook TO iPhone works, but I need vice versa).
I've tried syncing with closed Outlook client. Tried resetting configuration, tried moving to iCloud and back etc.. All, just to see the problem persist. Newly created contacts on the PC get synced to the iPhone, while newly created contacts ON the iPhone, does not get synced to Outlook.
    Please HELP.

I have the same problem, when I sync the contacts they pass well from outlook to my iphone, but not the way around, indeed it changes my iphone contacts information and dismisses all the inputs that I already made in the iphone.

  • Since upgrading to maverick I have had problems syncing contacts and calendar between devices

After recent apple support ref:532791559 my macpro will exchange these items between icloud and macpro but now I find I cannot exchange data between my iphone (IOS7) and ipad (IOS7)
In above apple support created new accounts etc to arrange connection but now I have lost the other two items. All three were working perfectly with icloud before updating. Sorry Apple but this is a blunder!!!

  • Problem sync contact after Update

We have updated the BlackBerry Q10, after restart all contacts is not synchronised and unavailable ?
We work with ActiveSync (Synchronisation with Office 365) before update the BlackBerry worked fine.
I tried of deleted account Exchange ActiveSync and recreate but the contacts is synchronised ?
    Can you help me Please
    Richard

After any OS upgrade on a BB10 device, it will take 48-72 hours for the device data syncing of email, contacts, social apps, etc., to complete and finish. High data transfer after an upgrade cause high processor use, which in turn causes high battery usage. Likewise, high processor use will cause some lag and initial slowness. Ignore and and be patient. It can take the 48 hours for all contacts to sync back to the device. And, the battery will recover after a few days. Just don't drain your battery to 10% or less each time, top off the charge. You'll notice a difference after a couple days.
ALSO >> You have your mobile phone number listed as your "My Mobile Provider" or carrier. Putting your phone number out on the internet on these public forums for the world to see, is not wise. To change that, at the top of this page click on My Settings > Personal Profile > Personal Information, and in the entry block for "Carrier" type the name of your mobile provider.

  • Problem Sync Contacts between my laptop and my ipod touch

    Hello guys,
I have a problem with my contacts, this is the issue: I have all my contacts in exchange, I sync this contacts with my laptop, and everything looks ok... if I change some contact in exchange I can see this change in my laptop.. the problem happen when I search that contact in icloud.com.. it does not appear.. seems like the sync is not working fine, and off course when I try to search that contact in my ipod touch it does not appear. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

I uninstalled Firefox off of my phone and then reinstalled it on it. While I was doing that, I logged off of sync on my laptop and then reinstalled Firefox onto my android. I logged in on both my laptop and phone into my sync account and made sure that was all set. Now whenever I want to sync my tabs on my laptop, I click the 3 horizontal bars in the top right corner, and go down and click Sync. Then on my phone, I open the Firefox app and click the little square where i can cycle between tabs and I click on the circular arrows. If you swipe your finger down it should start the circualr arrows spinning causing it to load and refresh. If that doesnt work, then try this:
    click the home button
    go to settings
go to accounts (under the user and backup tab in my Galaxy S5)
    go to Firefox
click the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner and press sync all or, press on where it has your email, which should also be your sync account name
click the 3 vertical dots in the top right corner and press sync now
then you should be able to go into Firefox and click onto where you would cycle between tabs and press onto the circular arrows and see if anything has changed. Hopefully this works for you.

  • Problem sync contact to my ipod

my ipod video was mostly used with my PC. Recently I got a macbook, and think it would be cool to have all my contacts and calenders on my ipod, so I connect my ipod to mac and used iTune to sync my contacs and calenders. Everything from my iCal was treansfered to the iPod, but only a few of my contacts were transfered. I am not sure what was preventing the transfer to complete. One thing I need to point out was that half of my contacts were in a language other than English. I do not think this was the problem though, since some of the contacts in the other language were transfered as well.
Any inputs will be greatly appreciated.

I have the same problem. Did you figure it out?

  • Problems syncing contacts after upgrading to Windows 7

I used to be able to sync my Iphone4 with Windows Mail contacts without a problem. Stupidly upgraded to Windows 7 which pretty much forced me to go to Window Live Mail. Now my contacts on my iphone don't sync with the contacts on Windows live mail (contacts). Any suggestions? I'm fully prepared to accept user error!

I actually managed to find a way around my original problem:
    When following operation fails:
Menu=>File=>Get Photos and Videos=>From Files and Folders
=>(open a network drive folder, in this case it was mapped to drive letter M:)
=>Try to select folder icon from Drive M with folder name "Photos" by clicking it with mouse
    Result:
    Selected folder disappears from list.
    How to go around this:
Menu=>File=>Get Photos and Videos=>From Files and Folders
=>(open a network drive folder, in this case it was mapped to drive letter M:)
=> Write a folder name "Photos" manually to Filename: field => Press Open
    Result:
    Now folder was opened correctly.
So there just seems to be a bug in this PSE8 file selector dialog.

    Hi there
Sorry, but my crystal ball is on the fritz and my telepathy skills are sub par. Therefore I cannot deduce what version of RoboHelp you are using.
To my knowledge, only version 8 will work properly with Windows 7. If your version is older than version 8 you will likely need to download and install the Microsoft Virtual Machine with XP Mode in order to allow RoboHelp to function properly. This runs an XP environment within Windows 7. You must also have Windows 7 Professional or Ultimate. Home Premium doesn't allow you to use the virtual machine.
    Cheers... Rick
