Problems Syncing contacts from AOL

I used Funambol to sync my contacts from AOL. Groups and contacts that did not have a first & last name did not transfer to my iPad contacts. Anyone know how to fix this problem?

Have found other contacts that didn't sync either but have a first and last name and a proper email address. Help anyone?

Hi, when I did my initial sync from my MBP to the iphone all worked great. But when I made some changes to my Address Book on the MBP yesterday and did a manual sync, those changes were not picked up by the iphone - I tried several times So I logged onto MM to check, clicked on the Contacts icon and got a busy symbol. The folder headings of my address book appeared then I had a popup appear to say that a script was having a problem on the page and I could continue or stop it. I tried continue a few times and eventually had to stop it, the busy symbol just continued. My contacts were never displayed. I tried it this morning and it is the same, is this the cause of my syncing probs and if so how do I fix it.

Are you syncing contacts direct with the Address Book on your Mac via the iTunes sync process, or over the air with MM on your iPhone?
If you are doing the former, this has nothing to do with a problem with your MM online address book.
If you are doing the former, try resetting the sync history on your Mac, which is done via iSync preferences with the iSync application located in your Applications folder.
Quit iTunes and launch iSync.
At iSync preferences, select reset sync history.
Restart your Mac and try syncing with iTunes again.

The iPhone supports syncing contacts with Outlook 2003 or 2007, or with Windows Contacts with Windows, and with the Address Book or with the Entourage address book on a Mac.
If you aren't currently using one of the supported applications on your computer for contact info - the supported address book application on your computer is empty, before syncing contacts enter one contact in the supported application on your computer. Make this contact up if needed, which can be deleted later. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data with the supported application on your computer, which you want to select.
After this, you can export the contacts from the supported application on your computer that is supported for import by your AOL online address book - if AOL includes such an option.

Sync contacts from outlook 2007 to gmail problem

Hello everybody! I have an issue when I use the sync zone in order to sync contacts from outlook 2007 to gmail with pc companion 2.10.065
The problem is that some certain fields (like "work 2" number) do not sync at all.
Other fields (like the "webpage" field) sync on some contacts and do not sync on some other contacts.
Is there a workaround on that?

I have just tested this and it seems just as you say that any second number of the same category won't be synced. I think this is a limitation at Google not matching/supporting the exact same PIM filed's.
However I could not replicate the problem with the web page field.

HT4872 Import contacts from AOL

I am having trouble importing my contacts from AOL to my iphone. I only fet Facebook contacts. Can someone help?

Thanks Winston for the added help. When I tried this, I received a data error, that I was not able to solve, and neither was Apple.
I solved my probem by logging into iCloud on my Mac, and turning off my account, and then turning on my friends account. I then imported the CSV file, with no problems, and then verified that the update records were showing on iCloud on a browser, and then I turned on my friends iPad and the new contacts synced just fine! I then remembered to turn off my friends iCloud account on my Mac and reconnect with my account!
So, everybody is happy now except apple - who are looking into the web iCloud contacts to see what is not working!

Is there any way to sync Outlook for Mac with iPhone? I have tried everything but not successful. Apple says it is not possible to sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5. Any help will be much appreciated.

Is there any way to Sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5? Apple support says that only iTune can only sync contacts from "Contact" which is the default contact of Mac. If one is running Outllok on a Mac machine then it is not possible to sync the contacts with iPhone. It is strange that Apple distributors are promoting and offering machines with promise that Windows users can now run MS Office on Mac machines without any problem. While this is true, it is so strange that one cannot sync the contacts from MacBook Pro to iPhone5. When I try to send an email The contacts from my phone come up instead of the contacts from aol.

Set it up in iTunes on your computer, connect the iPad > click the iPad in the left panel > at the top of iTunes click Info > check mark Sync Address Book Contacts > Add contacts created outside of groups on this iPad

Outlook 2011 problem syncing contacts with address book

I am aware that Lion has broken the sync ability of Outlook 2011 with Address Book. Hopefullly this will be fixed at some point.
So my problem is that I have decided to use a workaround to get my Address Book contents into Outlook 2011. I am not concerned with further syncing at this point. I just want to get my addresses into Outlook and hope a better fix is offered at some point.
About the only way I could figure out how to do this was to export my Address Book as vCard. I then imported the vCard file into Gmail and then exported that as a CSV file. It contained 550 addresses. I opened it in Excel and it contained 550 rows. Great so far.
I then Imported into Outlook 2011 and chose import a text file. When the mapping window opened, it showed over 890 files instead of 550 and the fields were not mapped correctly. I could not complete the import because it was so screwed up.
So I'm back to square one and very frustrated. There must be others who have the same issue and maybe have figured out a way to do this. Please help.

Has anyone had luck syncing contacts from hotmail to the kin onem?

When you set up email accounts on your phone, the only contacts that sync automatically are Exchange account contacts. You need to follow a different process to import contacts from Windows Live, Yahoo!, AOL, and Gmail.
First you need to sign into Windows Live on the Social Networking screen to auto-import your Windows Live contacts.
Then you will import your contacts from other email accounts to your Windows Live contacts. The contacts will automatically sync to your phone.
Step 1: On your phone
Sign in to Windows Live:
There are several ways to sign in:
Go to the Favorites Home screen and tap All contacts > Accounts.
Go to Apps > Contactsand tap Accounts.
Go to Apps > Settings, then slide your finger left to view the App setup screen. Then tap Social Networks.
The Social networks sign-in screen appears. Tap the social network you want to sign in to. For the steps below, select Windows Live™ - Live ID. The username you used to sign into your phone is pre-populated.

Step 2: On your computer

If you can see the iCloud contacts in Outlook, you can copy them back to your PC by selecting all the contacts (click one, then press Control-A), then drag and drop the selected contacts to Contacts under My Contacts on the left sidebar of Outlook.
If you want to copy your calendar back to Outlook, select your iCloud calendar on the left sidebar of Outlook, switch to the list view (select View from the ribbon, then click Change View>List), select your events (click on a single event, then press Control-A), then control drag and drop them to Calendar under My Calendars on the left sidebar.

Click on your iDevice on the sidebar of iTunes and then go to the info tab at the top. check the box shown here:
This will put the contacts from an iDevice to the computer. You can then check the same box on the (let's say iPad) that doens't have any contacts and they will go from your comp to your iPad.

Briefly, after both my Time Machine and hard drive failed, I lost all my data. My Entourage contacts re-main on my iPhone, and I want to sync them back to Entourage. I understand the process of "merging,"but I have run into a few obstacles: I am using the latest version of iTunes (7.6.2), by the way. First, under Preferences, I have no options available under "Syncing." Then, when I connect my iPhone, and select "Info," I have no options here, either. I do have a number of contacts in Entourage in my iMac, but, apparently, iTunes no longer recognizes the existence of this program, so I can go no-
where. (My Entourage Contacts have been duplicated in my Address Book, but that doesn't show up, either. Something must be terribly corrupted.) I'm both frustrated and perplexed, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance. pah

Something to check when syncing contacts from iphone back to computer, make sure to open address book and enter at least one contact.
Then when you connect the iphone, you should get a message asking if you want to merge the data.
Click merge and this should copy all contacts from the iphone back into address book.
the same goes with ical also.
Make sure there is at least one event in ical.
Now to move the data in address book and ical to entourage is set in the entourage preferences in the sync services section.
