Problems Syncing music Manually after Disabling Itunes Match

I recently disabled iTunes match and since doing so I have been unable to manually transfer music to my iphone 4 or transfer purchases from my iphone to my itunes... anyone have a clue to how I might fix this? It's very wierd, it's almost like my computer doesn't recognize my iphone as being assocaited with my account..

Now I deleted all settings and data from my iPad, restored from backup and tried to sync all music again. Now most of the titles are synced. But there are still about 10 title, that do not sync.
If I browse for them on the iPad (in iTunes) the information shows the following:
Size: Stream
Data rate: 256 kbit/s
The song in my library is an MP3 with 192 kBit/s. So this information is completely wrong.
For me it seems, like the music library on the iOS devices got screwed up. The question is, how can I reset my music library without losing all the other data on the devices?

  • Songs not syncing after disabling iTunes Match

I subscribed to iTunes Match a week ago and uploaded my library.
Then I enabled iTunes Match on my iPhone 4S and my iPad2.
Yesterday I decided to disable iTunes Match on my iOS devices and synced them with my MacBook again.
    Now the problem:
About half of the songs cannot be synced anymore to the iOS devices. There is no system, which songs are not synced. Some are my own MP3s, some are buyed M4As, some are matched M4As. But there is more: The same song can be synced to the iPhone, but not to the iPad and vice versa. The behavious seems to be completely random.
    Software versions:
    Mac OS X 10.7.3
    iTunes 10.6.1 (7)
    iOS 5.1
Yesterday I upgraded both devices to iOS 5.1.1, but the problem persists.

  • Very strange stuff happening after disabling iTunes Match on iPhone - letter headings are wrong?

So I finally got fed up of Match today when my Music.app crashed and would not open at all.  I've had all the problems with artwork and playlists not showing up then appearing then disappearing again but persevered with it as I had paid and waited ages for upload but this was the final straw.  I switched Match off on iPhone and switched phone off and on.  Having done this it would open again but the letter headings for artist, song, album, etc are now wrong.  All the A artists are listed under K, B under L and so on until P artists which are listed under Z.  All artists, songs and albums with titles beginning Q onward are listed under 123.  I have attached a photo to show what I mean:
Has anyone else experienced this?  I will also add that even after switching off Match on iPhone, signing out of iTunes store and syncing iPhone with iTunes I still seem to have Match on and still am missing artwork which should be there.  The whole thing is a total shambles!

Hi, thanks for the answer.  I had already tried the above steps and it still did not fix the issue with the letters.  I also still had cloud symbols against some artists/albums although only songs on the phone appeared to actually show up.
I seem to now have resolved the issue by restoring the phone.  Certainly the heading letter issue is no more and the music seems to be back to the state it was in before I put on Match which is surprising but pleasing.  Best of all my artwork is working again.  Hallelujah!
I have never restored it before in 18 months and wasn't sure to what extent the phone is restored so I am happy to see everything seems to be back to normal even remembering passwords and so on.  Hopefully I will see some general improvements in performance of the phone and I will try Match again an a couple of months if/when I hear it has improved!

  • Non-Library Synced music lost after latest iTunes update. Help!

I downloaded/update to the latest itunes which caused my phone to be reset to its factory settings. Although my contacts, photos and apps ect. were recovered, my music was not. I had a lot of music (2500+) on my phone which was however not synced to my itunes library as most of it was purchased from other sources. They were all normal MP3 files but now I don't know how to get them back! Surely iTunes couldnt have just wiped all of my music, could it? Please please please help me!

If you have content that is on the iPhone but not on the computer then Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device has useful tips. If it has now gone from the iPhone too then you can still recover your iTunes purchases.
What do you see if you drill down into the Mobile Applications and Music folders inside iTunes Media? Are you certain the content has been deleted?
If you've not done too much with the drive since things went wrong, then an undelete tool might recover some of the lost media. FreeRecover looks promising... Select the drive, use the options to get file paths and check file integrity, then, presumably, you can restore anything that has been deleted from within the media folder that looks recoverable.
While it is understandable that you blame Apple & iTunes for losing the media you could have just as easily turned on your computer to find the entire drive fried. You need to be prepared for such by backing up all your important data to at least one secondary independent location.

  • Playlists not syncing after dumping iTunes match

there are many threads addressing this issue, but none that perfectly match my problem...  i got itunes match and hated it so i turned it off on my phone and comp and decided to resync my music the old fashioned way - via usb.  i selected the playlists i wanted to sync.  the songs all showed up but not in any playlists.  i need playlists!  i've scoured the threads but can't seem to make it work.  HELP!

Just like to add my situation to this:
I had a similar issue. Itunes Match worked perfectly for me, but when I wanted to turn it off on my phone, I also attempted to sync via the USB and the playlsits disappeared. After cycling the itunes match setting on my iphone and my computer, as well as performing the troubleshooting Michael provided, it began to sync properly. The issue should be solved, but weird that it happens in the first place!

  • IPod Nano 6th Gen Won't Sync After Getting iTunes Match

I have a new iPod Nano 6th Generation, with the new clock faces, bought in december. I bought iTunes Match in early january.
After syncing and using my ipod successfully, I was confident that iTunes Match would not effect my ipod syncing as I only use iTunes Match for my Mac and iPad. However, after adding some CD's to iTunes and downloading some tracks, my iPod began syncing but then was interuppted by an error - 13019. It then wouldn't sync. I restored the iPod and the error came up again and after a few failed attempts, the iPod went into a boot loop showing the apple logo, then the homescreen then it would flash white and show the apple again.
I then thought to test it I would turn off iTunes match and sync the iPod and see if it would work. It didn't however, after restoring it with iTunes match turned off, it worked and synced, albeit with no playlists for some reason.
I am very disappointed and would like to know if I could fix it so my ipod can sync with itunes while iTunes match is turned on (the best option) or to be able to get a refund on iTunes match if it will not work and is causing me to not be able to use my iPod.
    Thanks for any Replies

  • HT1202 Can I still sync music manually using itunes 11.0.1?

Can I still sync music manually using itunes 11.0.1? The copy and paste AND drag and drop methods don't seem to work any more. Why does Apple make itunes so hard to use?

Thanks, but no dice. When I check Maunal manage, I get the dialog about erasing the phone and syncing to this computer. The only thing I can think of is to make sure my home machine is also set to manual sync. Although, I was able to manual sync just fine until I upgraded itunes to 11.0.1

  • Music App Not Working -- iTunes Match

I have been having trouble with the Music App on my iPhone 4S ever since I enabled iTunes Match when it became publicly available. I am running iOS 5.0.1 and here is a description of the problem:
When I play a Smart Playlist that I had developed before adopting iTunes Match, sometimes the downloaded songs (i.e., no iCloud icon) will play and sometimes they will not play. For example, this morning during my workout, the music played flawlessly for about 45 minutes and then for some unseen reason stopped playing. Additionally, sometimes when the songs do play, the wrong Artwork, Artist, and/or Song displays (i.e., different from what's actually playing.
Here are some of the different things I've tried to isolate whatever variable might be causing the problem:
Deleting the Music App from the Multitasking memory.
Restarting the iPhone (i.e., powering off with Sleep button and turning back on).
Disabling iTunes Match on the phone.
Playing songs from the Songs area instead of from the Smart Playlist
    Not using shuffle
Hard restart (i.e., holding Home and Sleep button simultaneously and powering phone back on).
None of these attempts has solved the problem, insofar as I can tell.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so, how can this be fixed?
My next step is to sync my iPhone via USB and wipe all of the music off and discontinue using iTunes Match on my iPhone and just sync the playlists I want from time-to-time. :-/

I feel your pain. I'm having a ton of issues with iTunes Match also. It happens on both my iPad 2 and iPhone 4, but is more frequent on my iPhone. I download a bunch of music from the cloud and it works for a few days, but then it will randomly do as you describe. It says that it's "playing" but does nothing at all. Even if I skip a track and try again but nothing happens. It may later play the tracks on another day (I didn't do anything differently). Other times it just skips over a few songs acting like its not even on the phone.
I've deleted my library and redownloaded more times that I can count. I'm pretty frustrated and I hope that apple fixes this soon! I can understand why you want to revert back to the old way of syncing your music, however I would really rather have the product (that I've paid for) work as advertised. Anyways, if I can't get it up and running again later this weekend I'll revert back to the old way also seeing how I can't even listen to music on my device anyways.

  • How to disable iTunes Match on a computer other than the one with my main library?

I have iTunes installed on a home MacBook for syncing music, photos etc and iTunes on a work PC to sync calendars and contacts.  iTunes Match is enabled on both. However, I'd like to disable it on my work PC as it slows down my iTunes when I open it up.  When I click "Disable iTunes Match" in the store link in iTunes on my work PC, it appears to want to disable the service universally.  Is this only disabling it on this one device, or universally?  Thanks.

Thanks... took over an hour to turn off the iTunes Match, but it did not effect my home iTunes.

  • How can i disable iTunes match on my new iPod?

I want all my music locally stored on my new iPod touch. I want this so that I do not have to rely on wifi to have access to my music, and so that sonos will work with it.

    Greetings kkdawg,
Thanks for contributing to the Apple Support Communities.
Congratulations on your new iPod touch. If you want all of your music stored locally on this device, first turn off iTunes Match by tapping Settings > Music and then the iTunes Match on/off switch.
This should allow you to sync music to your iPod touch from iTunes on a computer, as mentioned here:
iTunes Match on iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Syncing music with iTunes will be disabled while iTunes Match is enabled on your iOS device.
You can find detailed instructions for syncing music to your iPod touch in this article:

    Sincerely,
    Jeremy

  • ITunes 11.2.2 keeps crashing after starting itunes match

After starting iTunes match on my macbook pro it starts, looks through all the files, then states it is uploading the informatio to apple. At which point it then freezes with the spinning wheel of color. I have no idea why it won't sync to my itunes match, my PC library is syncing just fine. I have tried reinstalling it to no avail. Any thoughts?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
    Step 1
For this step, the title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
    View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
In the top right corner of the Console window, there's a search box labeled Filter. Initially the words "String Matching" are shown in that box. Enter the name of the crashed application or process. For example, if iTunes crashed, you would enter "iTunes" (without the quotes.)
Each message in the log begins with the date and time when it was entered. Select the messages from the time of the last crash, if any. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.
    Step 2
    In the Console window, select
DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION ▹ User Diagnostic Reports
(not Diagnostic and Usage Messages) from the log list on the left. There is a disclosure triangle to the left of the list item. If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
☞ If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
☞ Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

  • HT4913 When I go to Settings- Music and slide ITunes Match to Off, it still appears as On under ITunes and App Stores in the Settings menu. Once I turn this off, on returning to the Music menu under Settings, ITunes Match still shows as on. What to do?

When I go to Settings->Music and slide ITunes Match to Off, it still appears as On under ITunes and App Stores in the Settings menu. Once I turn this off, on returning to the Music menu under Settings, ITunes Match still shows as on. What to do?

I (though am not sure what happened) solved the problem. Under show all I had both videos and music selected as on. I turned off videos and ..hey presto..the slider reappeared.

  • How come itunes match takes up so much space on an iphone even before you download any songs? I noticed my storage space went down about 1gb after enabling itunes match before I downloaded anything.

A couple things about itunes match. First, why does it take up so much space before you download any songs when you enable it on an iphone? Also, why does it not give back that space when you disable itunes match? It would also be very appreciated if Apple would add a confirmation check to itunes match in settings when you disable it - the same way they do when you enable it. More then once I have disabled itunes match when I meant to disable show all music, and it is a pain to wait for itunes match to go through the whole process of enabling itself again.

It is not a bug. However you may leave your polite feedback for Apple at this page: http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

  • Problems syncing music....

ever since upgrading to itunes 7.1 and 7.1.1, i've had problems syncing music to my ipod. When I use the dock and the firewire connection, it is extremely slow to transfer songs from itunes to ipod, then the ipod eventually just freezes. When I connect the USB 2.0 cable, it transfers songs quickly, but then just automatically shuts itself off and ejects itself from itunes/computer. then I get the message that "the device was not put away properly". please help, thanks!

I am having a similar problem. I have not been able to sync my ipod since updating to 7.1.1
