Problems syncing new iphone 5
I bought a new iphone 5 today. I made sure I had the latest version of itunes on my pc but am unable to sync it. I don't receive any error messages as such it just acts as though it's preparing to sync then doesn't actually do anything. I've tried restarting the computer and phone. I've also run a diagnositcs test in itunes and all seems to be working correctly. This is driving me crazy and I'd really appreciate any help or pointers! Thanks so much.
Try updating to iPhoto 9.4.1. If it's not appearing in your Software Update yet, try updating using a .dmg installer downloaded from the following page on the Apple website:

iTunes thinks you have a new computer because you restored the OS. Open iTunes and authorize it to the same account you have on the iPhone. Did you restore your iTunes content from a backup after resetting your computer? Have you been syncing regularly with the computer, and does the iTunes library on the computer contain your apps, music and videos? If so just sync and your content will be removed then restored.
If you have not hopefully you have now learned something. You can recover apps and purchased songs by connecting the phone, without syncing, and choose "Transfer purchases..." from the File menu. -
I am facing a strange problem on new iphone 5 that I bought last week. The maps app and the places in photo gallery shows the pin and my location, however there is no information of locations. Tried to close the apps, phone restart, reset etc. I am accessing it via strong wireless connection and it works fine on other devices. Please help.

iOS 6 (which runs on the iPhone 5) requires iTunes 10.7, which requires OS X 10.6.8 or higher.
Upgrade OS X on your Mac. -
Im having major problems syncing my iphone 4 to itunes, this problem started after upgrading to ios 5. I have upgraded my itunes, turned sync by wifi on and off but still nothing. Everytime I try to sync my iphone it just says sync cancelled. Please help.....

Is it just your home WiFi, or all WiFi? If it is just your home network start by rebooting your router. Turn it off or unplug its power for 15 seconds or so.

Just updated to iphone 5 and cant Sync with Mac. Asking for OS 10.6 and cant find it. Current Mac OS X Version is 10.5.8. Is there any more downloads I need to do in order to sync new iphone 5? Thanks

I just brought a new macbook pro but am hving problems syncing ipad/iphone 4
i just got my new macbook pro. i used my time machine to back up old macbook and then used it to put all my files on new one but when i try to sync ipad i get transfere purchaes .. but when i do that all my things say there not allowed on this mac as im not autherised... erm my mac my ipad my files.. same itunes account logged into both.. whats the problem??? and the other option is to erase and sync .. but i would lose 2 movies and a tv serries plus music and apps????
Try de authorizing your old mac and then authorising your new mac, that will sort all your apps out in the purchased section, regarding all your data, films etc on your ipad/iphone you will have to use a programme to get the data from your iphone to new mac. i had the same problem, i used to an app called "pod to Mac" which did the job for me by taking all my data off my iphone 4 and putting it onto my mac, i then opened the files on my mac with the relevant programmes like itunes etc and then synced my iphone to my new mac.

I am computer illiterate. I have a new Iphone 4, which is recognised by itunes (an account created for use with my ipod touch). Whilst podcasts are synced I can't sync the complete music library, it seems only to sync a couple of albums purchased through itunes and "not find" about 20gb of music I have in the library. If UI had any hair I would have pulled it out by now. Can anyone help pleae in the simplest of terms? Many thanks
On the Summary Tab, put a check in the box labeled "Sync only Checked Songs & Videos", On the Music tab, put a check in the box labeled "Sync Music", & in the box labeled "All Songs & Playlists". Make sure you have a check in each box next to each song under "Library", "Music", in the far left pane. Hit "Apply" or "Sync". To conserve space on your phone, you can also check the box on the Summary Pane, Options, "Convert Higher Bit Rate...". This is done on the fly & does not affect the music in your library.

Can't sync new iPhone 4 with iTunes without it locking up iTunes
Got my new iPhone 4 last Friday. They tell me I need to register it and sync it. Didn't get around to trying that until yesterday. Tried most of the day and night last night, using iTunes 9.whatever it was. Kept on locking up iTunes. Tried deleting iTunes, reinstalling it and trying again. Didn't work. Even trying to register the phone made iTunes lock up.
Downloaded iTunes 10 last night. Have the same situation, BUT, it finally did allow me to finally register my phone this afternoon. Thought the problem was solved. Still won't allow me to sync.
Sync starts up (took it off the auto-sync setting) and it says it is going to backup the device - Step 1. Sometimes the progress bar moves 1/4 inch, sometimes 1/2 inch. Sometimes it just has the moving pattern on it. Once or twice, it actually got to Step 2, whatever that is. It always locks up. I've left it running for hours... still won't work.
Was told to delete iTunes, restart, delete trash and reinstall it. Tried that SEVERAL times, still didn't work. Was told to delete some other files (the IT guy was standing beside me because I have NO clue as to what to do with these files) - at least 1 file from the Library and not certain where the others were. That didn't work either. It just keeps on locking up iTunes and quite often, when I check with Force Quit, it shows that iTunes isn't responding. I repaired disk permissions. Didn't work. I unchecked what to sync - just trying to sync Apps now, and it still doesn't work.
All software is up-to-date on both the phone as well as my MBP. I'm at a loss. Anyone have any ideas?
Just tried it again and just plugging in the iPhone caused the beach ball to start spinning. I've GOT to be doing something wrong, but I'm at a loss.
Thanks in advance for your help.After purchasing a new iPhone 5S I had a problem syncing iTunes with the iPhone...At the Apple Store, the Service Rep backed up my iPhone to iCloud in order to transfer all data from the old phone to the new phone. At home when I tried to sync iTunes with my new iPhone 5S, iTunes would not recognize my new phone. I discovered iTunes was configured to back up data to my Mac hard drive and the iPhone was configured to back up data to iCloud. There was a conflict, subsequently causing iTunes to not recognize my new iPhone 5S. My solution was to delete iCloud from the iPhone. After doing this, iTunes synced with the iPhone with no problems. No data was lost and syncing occurred normally.
I recommend these as possible solutions:
1) The Apple store will back up your phone using iCloud. Make sure that iTunes is configured to back up to iCloud before you plug your new phone into iTunes for syncing/back-up. If your iTunes is configured to back up data to your hard drive, ensure that the Apple Store does not back up your phone data to iCloud. You will have to back up all iPhone data yourself at home on iTunes.
2) If they insist on backing up your phone data to iCloud from your old phone to your new phone then, be sure to delete the iCloud account off your new phone before you try to sync your new phone to iTunes.
I used the 2nd solution to solve my syncing issues. Everything works great now. iTunes recognized my new phone and can now sync/back-up data with out problems, error messages or loss of data.
Hope this helps everyone out! I intend to get drunk to relieve all the stress and hopefully restore my sanity as a result of having to solve this problem while having to act as my own Apple support staff! -
I am unable to sync my new iPhone 4s OR my iPod Touch 4 to iTunes.(this is the first time I am plugging them into iTunes) I have version 10.6.1. Both devices are up to date with the latest software version. Once I plug the device in, it is recognized on iTunes.The synce process does not start automatically. I am unable to select the sync option. I've tried reseting the device and restarting iTunes and the same problem happens. I have plugged in my husbands iPhone 3gs and the sync process starts automatically. I have also added my computer as an authorized computer for the new devices. What now?

i just purchased a used iphone from ebay.
i received the iphone today and it seems to be in great condition.
i cut it on and all it does is show a plug in cord with an arrow above it pointing to itunes. so i tryed to sync my iphone with my itunes.
itunes will not work bc my quicktime player was deleted. i uninstalled them both and tried to reinstall itunes using the link on the website. this error came up halfway through the installation:

after seeing that i clicked ok and the download continued. after it was done downloading it still wouldn't work.
it brings this error page up that says:
Apple Application Support was not found.
Apple Application Support is required to run ituneshelper. please uninstall itunes, then install itunes again.
i've done this 4 times...still no luck.
i have looked every where on the web to find a solution and still no luck. i can't find a link to download the apple application support so i don't know what else to do. if anyone has any advice. please help me. this is driving me insane. thxHRESULT:0x8007054F
These ones are typically caused by underlying problems on the PC that also often cause Windows Updates to fail to install. If we can fix the Windows Update trouble, we can usually get the iTunes trouble cleaned up +en passant.+
Go into your Windows update and try to check for new updates. Do they fail to install? If so, go into your Update History and doubleclick the failures. What alphanumeric codes appear for you? Are they also 0x8007054Fs, or are you getting different error codes? -
Mail exchange problem with new iphone
My home button stopped working so I went to the store and got myself a new iphone under warranty (Thanks apple).
It is running version 4.3.4
Anyhow, when I got home and restore from backup, everything works beautifully. However, the only problem is that I can't sync my hotmail using exchange. My Gmail is set under exchange as well and it works fine.
