Problems to print from Flex to a dot matrix printer

I'm having problems when a try to print from Flex in a dot
matrix printer. With ink jet printer there's no problem-
the problem is that it shrinks the printing, and adds a
column of dots at the end. I mean it splits the page in 2, first
the shrinked data, and on the other side, a column of dots, i don't
know if this is a problem between Flex and dot matrix
printers.

Your printer does not appear to be AirPrint capable so you may need to use a software print server that runs on your PC or Mac like http://www.ecamm.com/mac/printopia/.

  • How to stop auto from-feed on a dot matrix printer for printing only a single line of data at a frequency of 30 seconds

    Hello friends
    In a particular application, it is required to print a single line of data on a dot matrix printer (continuous sheets) at a frequency of 30 seconds. That is printing is to be carried out line-by-line on the same form without a form feed.
    We are facing a problem of a form feed after printing of each line. Kindly help me to solve this problem of auto form-feed. How to continuously print at a regular interval without from-feeding.
    Shahid Baig

    Is this printer connected to a network?
    You may need to look at the printer manual to see if there is a setting for a form feed.  I remember when we had a dot matrix printer on the network about 12 years ago, there would be a network timeout setting of something like 30 seconds.  So if you didn't continue to send data, the network will end the print job and send the file to the printer which would auto form feed at the end.  Many of our basic programs had to be rewritten because they would do an LPRINT periodically, if you took along time progressing through the inputs, you would easily hit the 30 second timeout.  So all the programs had to be rewritten to save the data to be printed to a file, and only once you execute a print command, it would read the file back in and Lprint it (or a Print#1) to the LPT port.
    Since the printer was on the network, and basic could only print to LPT's, we had to use a net command to capture the LPT1 port and direct it to the network queue.
    I don't remember all the details, but those are the bits and pieces I do remember.  I think the answer to your problem lies in there somewhere.
    Namely:
    1.  Printer setting to auto form feed.
    2.  Network setting that closes print job after timeout period.

  • Problem accessing Webservices from Flex

    Hi All,
    I have created a Webservice in Abap and configured it using
    SOAMANAGER transaction. I am able to succesfully test the Web serivice which I have created in 'Soamanager ' transaction.
    But when I am calling this Webservice from Flex application I am getting an error as " FAULT : faultCode:WSDLError faultString:'Runtime exception Error #1009' faultDetail:'null' "
    We tried calling the Webservice  outside SAP from the FLex application, it is working fine.
    Please let me know how to rectify this error . It's an urgent requirement.
    Thanks and regards,
    Uma.

    hi
      when you create your destinations for your webservices in the SOAMANAGER-> Destination Template
      you would be providing wsdl url and destination , and in the below you can
      find the username and pwd that need to set , you need to select the radio buttons with logon tickets ,
    username , password , there , re-check the username and pwd by selecting the radio button with selecting the
    radio button username password ,  and even check the webservice in the WSNAVIGATOR , whether its working
    fine , and other thing is  there is situation where your webservice may work fine inthe wsnavigator  even then there would
    be some problem inthe webservice , even check this scenario.

  • Problem in Smartform Table/window Line Using Dot Matrix Printer

    Dear Experts,
    I faced issue in printing smartform using dot matrix printer. In the print result, the table line (horizontal and vertical) is not printed. I already search the forum but none can solve my issue. I already changed the table line width into 30 or 40 TW but still not work. Everything is OK in the print result, except the table line.
    If i manually print/write '__' (underscore), it appear in the print result, but to write horizontal line and vertical line manually in the smartform will be huge effort.
    I used device type EPESCP9 for the output device.
    Can you tell me what i need to do?
    your help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Mobile App problem after update from Flex SDK 4.5 to 4.5.1

    I have a mobile app that built in SDK 4.5 and running ok until update the SDK to 4.5.1 and then the app only loads the splash page and not even to to the firstview. The screen just stop at the splash page and no reaction, no debug window popup (test on the computer). If I change back to SDK 4.5, everything goes normal. Does anyone has the same issue? Please help.
    I am in Win 7, Flash Builder SDK 4.5.1 plugin in Eclipse Helios.
    Thanks.
    Tony

    Thanks for your respond. I wish I could show you my app; however this project is pretty big. Besides the UI part that was built for mobile, there are also part of the codes are including (referenceing) the old desktop project that still are complie in SDK 4.1. Mainly for the referencing codes to the old project are Caingorm's commands and service locators part, for getting the service call. Everything is fine and running on computer and mobile devices when using SDK 4.5.
    I can try to build something to see if it will show the same situation. Thanks.

  • Reg: Dot Matrix Printer Settings problem

    hello all,
             The problem is with the Character format of Dot matrix printer, the printer is unable to print any graphical line. The line can be seen in print preview but in the actual printout the line is not printed. When the same O/P is printed through normal mode of dot matrix printer it is getting printed in the print out.
    The client want all the Invoices to get printed in this format as it requires least usage of ink.

  • Printing in Dot Matrix Printer

    Hi to all,
      As we know that the dos matrix printer supports dos prompt and thus printing speed and
    life of the printing head is comparatively more than what we print the same in graphical format.
      So when I tried to print from SAP Bone in dot matrix printer, the printing speed is very slow and quality of printout is not good enough.
      Any clarifications on this regard would prove very helpful to me.
    Regards,

    Consultant Business solutions.

    Do you use one of this printer types:
    Dot Matrix, Printer, Needle Printer, Citizen ProDot 300 , Oki Microline
    , Epson FX880, Epson FX890 ?
    Here the stepwise I have tried :
    In order to print using Dot Matrix printers, follow the below
    instructions:
       1. Run SAP Business One.
       2. Click the upper menu 'File' and select 'Page Setup'.
       3. The Print Setup window opens. Under 'Paper', in the field 'Size', select 'Letter' from the drop down menu.
       4. Click OK to confirm your selection.
       5. On your desktop, click Start => Settings => Printers.
       6. Right click on the required Dot Matrix printer and select 'Printing Preferences...'.
       7. Click the 'Paper/Quality' tab page and click the 'Advanced' pushbutton.
       8. Under'Paper/Output'=> 'Paper Size', click on the underlined paper size(e.g. A4) and select 'Letter' from the drop down menu.
    Note that if you leave the value 'A4', each page will be spreaded over 2 pages when printing using Dot Matrix printers.
       1. Under 'Graphic'=> 'Print Quality', click on the underlined value (e.g. 230X250 dots per inch) and select '120X144 dots per inch' from thedrop down menu.
    Note that in case the value '120X144' is not available you should select a similar value from the list.
    After you do the stepwise, I am sure there will no problem any more. The slowly printing mostly caused by printer type and your hardware specifications for example your LAN, etc..
    good luck...

  • Controlling Dot Matrix Printer!

    Is it possible to send events from java to a dot matrix printer like line feed, form feed, printing condensed mode, and printing special chracters in bold and italics in different pitch?(I am asking operations like can do with Printer Control Language(PCL))

    If you able to access printer from java - you able to do anything. Read your printer's manual (or Google) about Escape-sequences.

  • Problem with printing after migrating from 3.5 to 4.1

    Hello everyone,
    I'm currently working on an application that was recently migrated (by someone else) from Flex 3.5 to Flex 4.1 and I discovered the printing doesn't work properly anymore. So I tried to find out what the problem was and after many tries, I came to the conclusion that the problem was within the following line:
    printJob.addObject(myPrintView,FlexPrintJobScaleType.MATCH_WIDTH);
    (Of course "myPrintView" is not the real name used in the app but that's not important)
    I searched on the Internet and this line is supposed to work in 4.1, isn't it? However, the printed version cuts my PrintAdvancedDataGrid approximately in half. I tried to change the width property from myPrintView but the grid is still cut at the same place, its cells are just distorted.
    FYI, you can find a part of the code right here:
    var printJob:FlexPrintJob = new FlexPrintJob();
                        if (printJob.start()) {
         //A lot of code to build the print view
    myPrintView.width=1280;
    printJob.addObject(myPrintView,FlexPrintJobScaleType.MATCH_WIDTH);
    printJob.send();
    myPanel.removeChild(myPrintView);
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards,

    While looking for a solution on the Internet I found some people having troubles because of the structure of their AdvancedDataGrid. My problem doesn't come from any example I've seen but maybe it's still linked to that, so here's an AdvancedDataGrid that's being printed in my app:
                                                    <mx:PrintAdvancedDataGrid dataProvider="{dataRayon}" sortExpertMode="true" id="dataGridRayon" width="100%" itemClick="dispatchEvent(new KpiEvent(DATAGRID_RAYON_CLICK,event));" itemDoubleClick="dispatchEvent(new KpiEvent(DATAGRID_RAYON_CLICK,event));" creationComplete="resizeGridRayon();" >

                                                      </mx:columns>
                                            </mx:PrintAdvancedDataGrid>
    I also realised I wasn't very clear on the outcome of my doPrint() function. When I said the grid was cut in half, I was talking about half the columns not showing on the printed version, not half the rows. Actually even a column being cut in half. I hope these precisions made my problem a bit clearer and somebody will be able to help me in any way (even just hints).
    Thanks for your help.

  • Problem with custom paper size on dot matrix printer

    Hi All,
    I'm using CR2008 with updated to SP2. I have a problem with custom paper size (W=21; H=14), the CR Viewer show report with custom paper size correctly but when I print it to a dot matrix printer (Epson LQ 300+) the content was rotated to landscape. If print to a laser printer the content was printed correctly. My report was printed correctly by CR10 or previous versions I got this issue when upgraded to CR2008. I aslo tested my computer and printer with orther application like MS Word the printing have no problem with custom paper size.
    Thanks for any advice for me.
    Han

    Looking at the Epson LQ 300+ driver, I see that the latest update is from 2002. In my experience, most matrix printer drivers are not unicode. Crystal Reports is designed to only work with unicode printer drivers. See the [How Printer Driver Options Affect a Report|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/index?rid=/library/uuid/a09051e9-721e-2b10-11b6-f9c65c64ef29&overridelayout=true] article, page 6 for details. Also, see [this|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes_boj/sdn_oss_boj_dev/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes.do] note.
    Finally, see if you can print from the CR designer to this printer and if you get the correct results here.

  • Problem in Printing jtable swing component using dot martix Epson printer

    It works well if i am not chnging the font.But if i changed the font (to my local language or any any other language)

    But I wonder why you are changing the focus. The problem arose when you were setting a particular font. So the first question is: Can you do without that font? Meaning: are the Devanagari characters an option?No Devanagari characters are not option.I have to use Marathi language in my application for displaying to the user and taking value from user.See perblem come into picture when i am using setFont method.i did one expriment using characters 0900-097F.For one jtext field i have set text as "\u0937\u0937\0937".In gui i saw the corresponding marathi characters for it (here i did not used any set font method).Also after printuing that on paper i saw marathi text.As i mentioned in previous post i was not able to use "\u0937\u0937\0937" this in table.It might be some mistake in string formation.But i am sure it will work.Only need to check how to form string.
    In this case Only problem is that how to take input from user.As user will not gonna input "\u0900".He will laways enter abcd....I have to interprete them into unicode.Please correct me if i am thinking wrong.
    I will try by changing the language of keyboard to hindi and get back.

  • Crystal Repoorts 2008 W2008R2 Dot Matrix Printing Problems

    Using CR2008 running on Windows Server 2008R2 - printing toLexMark 2580n dot matrix printers.
    I have developed reports that print correctly WHEN I call them up in Crystal Reports 2008 and print them from that application. If I call that same report from within a Visual Studio application, it does not print at all as expected (or desired!!). Similarly, I cannot get other reports to print correctly running directly out of Crystal yet if I call them from the Visual Studio application it does work/behave.
    Also, I have some label reports that are printing to a 3.5"W x 2.0"H size (I created a custom label like usual in printer server properties) that behave when I run them directly from Crystal but consistently print out vertically (90 degrees to the right) when I run it from Visual Studio. It's maddeming. I tested the reports when I first purchased CR2008 to make sure it would run on W2008R2 Server (and it did work). Did not see this problem coming. Any assistance would be helpful.
    FYI I am printing to LexMark 2580n dot matrix, brand new printers (had to purchase these to make drivers work on W2008R2). LexMark has effectively (to my satisfaction) ruled out their printers as the problem.
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Vishnu,
    Above you have the following commands:
    set line spacing 6 LPI
    \e\0x32
    set page length 86 lines
    \e\0x43\0x46
    46 HEX = 70
    So the above settings mean 70 lines at 6 LPI = 11.66 inches.
    So is the paper length 11.66 inches? If not, you should adjust the settings accordingly.

    Hi
    Which type of printer you are using.
    In the case of  dot matrix printer then if you set a custom paper size in the printer properties then you have to set custom paper size in B1 also
    Go to File --> Page Setup
    then select the custom size you have created.
    Hope this helps
