Problems to share internet with ios7.1

bug in ios7.1 which prevents virtual operators sharing internet.
bug in ios7.1?
we switched to android?
is not a problem of the carrier
in phone android works well
UPDATE IOS 7.1.1 NOW !!!

I finally got it to work. I did have thunderbolt sharing FROM Wi-Fi enabled, but my firewall was preventing my XBOX from connecting. Right now I'm just turning it off and it works fine, connects to xbox live etc. I'm sure there are ways to go into firewall options and make an exception that will allow my Xbox through without fully disabling it but I haven't looked into this yet.

  • Why my iPhone 3GS can't share internet with another iPod, iPhone or iPad with iOS 6.x?

    Hi.
I am from Mexico, sorry from my 'english'.
I have an iPhone 3GS with iOS 6.1.3, i can share internet with USB and Bluetooth.
It's ok, but when want share, my iPhone 4S with iOS 6.1.3 doesn't detect the 3GS, and vice versa.
When i try connect with Bluetooth with a iPod Touch Fourth Generation with iOS 6.1.5, i can't too, they doesn't detect too.
When i try connect with Bluetooth with a iPod Touch Fifth Generation with iOS 7.0.4, it works!!
When i try connect with Bluetooth with a iPod Touch Third Generation with iOS 5.1.1, it works!!
¿What can i do? I can't connect with Bluetooth with whatever terminal with iOS 6.x.x

Your best bet is to switch phones with your carrier and get your 4S on the data account.
Otherwise, try resoring the iOS in your iPhone 3GS via iTunes.

  • Problem connecting to internet with wired ethernet

Shortly after installing the Leopard 10.5.2 update, I could not connect to the internet through the wired ethernet connection. Connected wireless with no problem. Spent time with Apple tech. Determined that the machine was fine. Told to check the wall port. Had a windows PC connect fine through same cable and wall port. Also brought the MacBook to a different location. Connected to the ethernet port and connected to the internet successfully. Determined that the MacBook kept using an IP address of 192.168.1.103. This is the wrong address for my connection. The correct IP address is 172.16.7.1. Installed this address manually in the MacBook and established a connection. The MacBook cannot seem to connect automatically at this location. The Windows PC connects fine. The MacBook keeps coming up with the wrong IP address. Any idea what could be causing this??

The IP address when connected to a router will start with 192.168.x.x.
When connected to a modem you will get a different address.
When you connect to a cable modem for the first time it looks at the Media Access Control (MAC) address of whatever is connected.
It is a unique number for your device.
It only attaches to one device and provides an internet connection to that device by way of an IP address.
If you wish to connect another device and get an IP address for that new device, you need the modem to start over, since it has a monogamous relationship with the connected device.
In order to have the modem drop its relationship, it needs to be restarted.
This is not true of a dsl modem.
It sounds like your modem has linked with the MAC address of the router.
In order to connect directly to the modem and get it to link to your computer, you need to unplug the router from power.
    Disconnect its ethernet cable.
Restart the modem after about 15 seconds and wait until it restarts, about 2 minutes.
Then reconnect the modem and you will likely be able to connect to the internet.

  • IMac can not share internet with new MBP

I just purchased a 13" MBP(10.5.7)and wanted to update software, register, etc. I'm trying to share the internet from my G5 iMac(10.5.7). With airport turned on,I've turned on internet sharing from ethernet to airport on the imac but the Radar icon does not display the "arrow" to show that the iMac is acting like a base station. The firewall setting in the security pref. is set to allow all incoming connections. i keep trying different combinations of settings but the only change is a light gray "monitor" icon on the airport radar in the tool bar. ( and I can't seem to repeat that)The new MBP sees the iMac in the airport drop down menue but does not connect, it says it needs a password but none was established on the imac. When opening safari is says not connected to internet. I've read many post regarding sharing but I must admit I'm confused. I thought this was supposed to be simple.
    Thanks for any responses

I have done those things. I tried the same with an older ibook and three clicks and the airport icon showed an arrow (signaling it now is a base station) no problem but not on either of the leopard machines. is there a problem with sharing using leopard?
When I set the imac to share the ethernet connection and choose by airport the red Button changes to green. the preference window says "sharing your ethernet connection" but no change at the icon on the upper right menu bar. (I've always thought it changes to an arrow over the "radar" icon) if I close the sharing window and then reopen it or turn the airport on/off the internet sharing box becomes unchecked and sharing is turned off. I can't seem to get the radar icon to change and the sharing settings to stay "set".

  • Share Internet with MBP AirPort

How i can share my Internet Connection (PPTP), if I use Time Capsule and rise VPN connection with my MBP over WiFi. I want to share this connection with my other devices =)
iPod Touch -> WiFi -> MBP (VPN) -> WiFi -> TimeCapsule -> Ethernet -> Provider

Assuming you got to the very long thread, there does not seem to be an easy answer, as people have experienced different problems with different set ups, but there is a bug (or several) to do with this.
Try the option of deleting plists, but even before that, I seem to have solved it for the moment by selecting the Join other network from the drop down menu when you click the airport icon on the menu bar at the top of the screen, then enter the details of the wireless network. Why going in this way should work while other slightly different methods don't it beyond me (and Apple it would seem, for the time being).
    Good luck.

  • Strange display problem on the Internet with jpgs

    Hi,
For some time now I have problems with jpgs on some Internet sites. They don't show up properly. But only on this MAC, every other computer is ok. Here is a screencap of what I see:
    http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2690530
It happens only on specific websites but now it also happens on MY OWN website (http://www.patrickeischen.com)! I didn't change a thing on this page, it was ok 'til now.
I use Firefox & Safari. Can anybody please help me?
Message was edited by: Danielle Kamp

    Hi Danielle:
Cant use the link to your screencap, -wants login info.
What do the jpgs look like? Sometimes I get a small square and question mark on some webpages where images should show but I just fault the webpage, or internet. Sometimes a reload works.
Sounds like a software glitch on your PM G5, Have you repaired permissions recently?

  • Share internet with a neighbour (2 wireless routers with switch?)

    Hi All,
I want to ask for your help, if there are better options for sharing Internet:
    Today:
The Internet is today shared like this: cable->modem->1. WRT320N router-> 2. WRT320N router (LAN port to LAN port).
It is working pretty OK but as the first router (connected to the Internet) is not in my house I can not restart it if needed (my neighbour is not always at home...)
    Preferred solution
I want to connect both routers to the internet separately, means both routers are connected direct to the Internet and not thru each other.
    Solution?
My idea is to connect the Internet to a switch and connect the two routers directly to the switch. In this case I guess the routers are directly connected to the Internet, or?
Should I use the LAN to LAN ports in this case as well or LAN to WAN?
The routers should also in this case have 2 different IP adresses?
Can DHCP be enabled on both routers?
Can I use ALL functions on both routers?
Thanks if you share your ideas.
    Regs,
    ZZs

Whether this works or not depends on your ISP. Most ISP only allow you to have a single active internet connection through a single modem/line. Thus, before you try this I would check with your ISP how many devices you are allowed to connect directly to the internet connection. If it's only one then you have to buy another internet contract for the second connection.
If you ISP allows this the basic setup would be:
    1. modem connects to ethernet switch.
    2. WAN ports of both routers connect to the ethernet switch.
Each router will have a different public IP address and are configured the same on the internet connection (i.e. probably DHCP). You enable the DHCP server on both routers. You can use all internet related functions on both routers (e.g. access restrictions, ddns, etc.).

  • Problems connecting to internet with 10.5.3

I can't get connected to the internet directly through a cable modem. I have tried everything some have mentioned, but it still doesn't work. This is a brand new computer pre-installed with 10.5.3. I have talked to both Comcast and Apple, neither can help. Do I have to go back to 10.4?

Is this ethernet connected (I'm guessing yes).
Some Cable modems record the first MAC (Media Access Control) address they see and do not accept connections from anything else.
Generally you need to power off the Cable modem for a few minutes and then power it back on before it will accept a new MAC address.
    Have you tried this?
Have you looked in the System Log (via Applications -> Utilities -> Console) to see what kind of connection errors you are getting. This might help isolate the problem.

  • Problems Connecting to Internet with AE

I just bought a replacement AE for my home network, because my last one went dead. I am setting the AE up with a Motorola 2210 DSL modem with ATT. I bought the AE refurb and it has worked great so far, I just cannot figure out how to connect to the internet (the correct process, etc). I don't know the correct terminology and what to set each router on, but the one time I thought I got it right the Airport Utility on my Macbook brought up a alert that said another computer at xxxx IP was trying to connect and only one computer can be connected at a time and try again later.
This alert is coming up right as my AE setup is complete and I notice under my Finder window a Macbook showing up. When I click on the MacBook showing up it shows a little icon underneath with the wording "Connecting or trying to connect...". My last AE worked just fine with DSL setup and am at a loss how to setup this new one. I just want a closed home network in which I can access my home wifi with my computer and iPod touch. Anybody out there know how to diagnose this an give me some steps to follow.
I will be glad to put back both the AE and Motorola 2210 to factory settings just to get this done, but ATT won't help.

Bridge mode is not the correct setting on your AirPort Extreme, despite what AirPort Utility might say.
Open AirPort Utility - Click Manual Setup
    Click the Internet icon
    Connect Using = Ethernet
Connection Sharing = Share a public IP address
    Update to save changes
If you get a message about NAT, click the "ignore" option.
Power down everything on the network for a moment. Then start the modem first, then the AirPort Extreme, then your computers and devices.
Explanation...The modem can only supply one IP address. With the AirPort Extreme in bridge mode, only one device will able to connect to your network at a time. The "Share a public IP address" will allow multiple devices to connect to the network.

  • Problem connecting to internet with linksys router after internet network password reset

I do not know the model number of the wireless linksys router offhand, but it is one known to have a bug regarding connecting the internet. Others have solved the problem by buying another model number, but the person who owns it does not want to buy a new one since he does not know how to use any other one.
What happened is our phone company (also the internet provider) was having technical problems so there no internet connection. Then, my computer opened with internet page to reset password to connect.
Although I am able to get a connection on my wireless laptop, this other person in house is unable to connect to wired computer through linksys.

Hi. WUSB300N is actually a wireless usb n adapter. A wireless receiver not a wireless access point or a router. You may want to check if you have a wireless Linksys or Cisco router there.

  • HT201699 having problem to connect internet with virgin simcard

hi, I bought virgin contract with blackberry 9300 but when i insert my virgin sim card in Iphone 3g I am unable to connect internet, can some one help me with this issue so i can connect with internet. any help much appreciate. Thanks. .

    Hi,
    Thanks for your question.
According to your description, I am not quite sure of your network deployment. I would appreciate it if you can post
a figure of your network topology.
In addition, I recommend you to check the common suggestions below:
You can configure the default gateway to 192.168.2.3, then tracert a public website, such as tracert google.com, then check the result.
In addition, you can disable the firewall and run “ping 192.168.2.3” at the command prompt. If it is unable to ping, you can check the route table or
ARP cache. If it is able to ping, you can try to ping the public IP of the ADSL modem. If it is unable to ping the public IP address, please contact your ISP for assistance.
By the way, based on your question, it is more related to network, I will move it to the network forum. Thanks for your understanding and support.
    Best regards,
    Susie
