Problems today with Ovi email form - fixed!

Hi all,
there have been several posts here today informing that Ovi support emails have been bouncing back.
The Ovi Support team has informed us that there were indeed some problems with the emails, but they have been fixed and the emails should now be promptly delivered to Ovi Support.

Problems with contact email form

Hi there,
So I've been having lots of problems with getting an email form to work in my flash website.
The contact email form I've been attemping to get to work can be found here:

When I start a new flash movie from scratch and follow the instructions on the site, everything works great. However, when I try to create this form within a movie symbol within my current flash site, nothing works at all. I've tried placing the submit button within the movie symbol and without and neither works. I guess my question is, why would this happen? In which circumstances would placing a form like this inside of a movie prevent the form from functioning? For instance, when I tes tthe movie, fill out the form and press the submit button, nothing happens.
Can I get some advice for whether I need to rethink implementing this form into a current flash video and what things I should check for?

you probably have path problems. use the trace() function to help debug your flash.

"Reply To Sender" doesn't work with Yahoo Mail. Works OK in IE, so the problem is with Firefox. Please fix this NOW!

'Reply to Sender' only works with some emails. For example, with emails that appear to be identical except for the user name one will work OK with Reply To Sender and the next will not. For example, using Reply To Sender with [email protected] will work fine, but trying Reply To Sender with [email protected] doesn't work. I just get a blank email page with nothing on it. I have a laptop and a desktop and they both have the same problem. I've tried all of the suggestions for making changes in the various sections of the Tools Menu but nothing works. Email works fine in IE. I'm running Win7.

First, I would try disabling any Add-ons like Adblock Plus, or NoScript.
Second, possibly try disabling anti-virus
Third, if that didn't do it, I would then Restart FF in Safe Mode, and see if that worked.
Then, re-enable each individually, to see which is causing it.

The problem I am having is all the information is sending to my email address just fine, however, the Comments are not coming through. The email says "Comments" but the comment that was typed in is not sending through the email.

E52 internal GPS fix problem only with OVI Maps

Hi all,
I read many many E52 phones suffer Internal GPS fix problems.
I don't beleve this is an hardware problem, but only a software bug.
My experiments say this:
1) Start phone, start Ovi Maps -> No lock at all. (only 1 blinking line in bottom left corner)
2) Start phone, start McGuider (Sygic) navigator -> E52 locks quite immedeately. (in the same place!!)
3) After GPS is locked, start Ovi Maps again. Now also Maps works great!
4) Also the gps built-in application under Menu->Applications->GPS->GPS Data has the same behaviour as Ovi Maps.
Anyone can try and report this or similar experience?

Yes, you have to pay, but the connection takes about 20sec. About Sygic you're right I noticed that too. It locks pretty fast.

V32.1 Released Today With iOS Download Failure Fix

Hello,
This morning (Pacific time) the v32.1 release was made public. It contains a fix to the download failure issue that surfaced in the following forum discussion:
iPad folio "Cannot connect to server" download problem
This issue only affected v32 apps (v31 apps were not impacted).
The iOS Adobe Content Viewer with this fix is being submitted today for Apple approval, and may take a few days for approval and release.

AT&T informed me re: your problem-can't open email.When fixed?

Cannot get email from Modzilla - I get a message that says my resolution setting is too low, but it's not.
Had ATT tech support help me and they said that Modzilla is having problems with this and is currently fixing this problem. Is this really happening? If so, when will it be fixed? It's been 5 days now.
I can get my emails on Explorer, but not Modzilla.

I'll offer the same suggestion:
Firefox changes the resolution reported to websites based on your zoom level. Could you try reducing your zoom a notch (hold down the Ctrl key and tap the - key) to see whether that makes a difference? When you reload the Yahoo page, use Crl+Shift+r to force a full reload and bypass any cached files.

Trying to make a php file work with my email form

Hello,
Going slightly mad trying to link my php file with my html and actually getting it to work.
It (the php file) keeps coming up with a syntax error on line 37 - code hinting may not work etc etc but there is no error from what I can see - can anyone else point out the obviously to me? This is driving me around the bend!

Line 37 is this:

It should be this:

Also the header for the From: is this:$headers = "From: $email\r\n"; but I don't see the variable defined for $email
Also you should know about email injection. Someone could inject your headers and add additional BCC: addresses to send emails to many undisclosed recipients through your mail script. You'd be using your script to turn your server into a host for spam! Sanitize your fields to prevent injection attacks! Security should be the firt priority followed by functionality. If it's unsecure it shouldn't function

Am i the only one having problems today with iMessage?

Here is another to add to TheMaxxMann. Did that person have an iphone at one time and did they change to another phone? If so then they need to go into their profile on apple's website and delete the phone from their profile so imessage will not be active anymore.
Have your friend go to this website if they no longer have an iphone.

File attachment problem when posting the email

I have some problems here with the email posting. When i send the email with text attachment and I view in the SOST is correct. But after i sent it through the SCOT, the attachment that receives by receiver becomes PDF. Can somebody tell me what the problem?

is done by scot settings.
2. We can modify that setting. Pls consult ur basis team for that.

Email form validation

Having trouble with an email form validation. I have an email
field that is optional. Therefore, if the user leaves it blank, the
form should submit. However, I also want to check that if the user
did fill out the email address, it is valid. I am checking that if
it does not contain and '@', a '.' or does contain a ',' to give an
error. Whenever I submit a blank form, it keeps giving error that
the email address is not valid. Here is my code:

Problems with email form in Flex

I've been scouring the web for an email form in Flex for several days now and am stuck because of what I think are these several areas.
Setting up the back end - I am running wamp server 2.0 on my devolping machine and have a Windows 2008 Server with PHP set up at my disposal as well. Most of the tutorials I've come across don't go over these configurations, I've figured a few things out, but am still rather in the dark and am unsure what I've learned is accurate. Here are a couple questions:
How do I set up the Flex Build Path. For example I have a folder created in the www directory of the wamp server named mailform where I tell the HTTPService's url property to post to a php file named 'mail.php' So would this be correct?

Do I need to change values in wamp's php.ini file. From what I've found smtp_server, smtp_port, and php_openssl need to be changed.

Would I need to use an alternative app like PEAR: Mail or phpMailer. For testing purposes I'm using my gmail account, the client's site this is for uses a bellsouth.net account.
2. Are problems still persisting with Flash Player 10, like illustrated in this thread: http://www.actionscript.org/forums/showthread.php3?t=196454 As msfx pointed every email form example I've downloaded, there've been many, I have not been able to get to work. Yet as you can tell there are probably other issues I need to take care of as well.
Please point me in any direction(s) that will help, am open to all suggestions, would just like to get a working email form done in flex so I can finish the client's site. Thank you.

You might want to try contacting Apple for assistance by going to https://expresslane.apple.com, then click See All Products and Services>iTunes>iTunes Store>Passwords & Security Questions>Lost or Forgotten Apple ID password. They should be able to explain what's going on and help you reset the password for the old ID if necessary. The call should be free.

The Snow Leopard 10.6 DVD should still be available from Apple for $20. You will have to call Apple Customer Care 1-800-692-7753 or 1-800-676-2775 to purchase it. It may still be in the Legacy Products list. The App Store which is required to download 10.7 or 10.8 is part of the 10.6.6 update.
If they no longer have any in stock you will have to buy it from eBay or Apple resellers that still have stock. But you will have to pay a premium since the DVDs are no longer being made. Snow Leopard DVDs are already up to $100 on Amazon.
