Problems transferring photos from iPhone to iMac

I've recently bought an iMac and I can't transfer photos from my iPhone to iPhoto. When I attach the phone to the computer it isn't recognized as hardware in iPhoto. I used to be able to transfer from my phone to my old Macbook but that doesn't work now either.

This has nothing to do with iOS 7.1
Is your phone unlock when it is connected to your Mac?

You should ask in the Apple Forum. This has nothing to do with Adobe Reader, which only reads PDF files.

  • Problems transferring photos from iphone to mac, iphoto says there is nothing to download...

Hi, I need to transfer photos from iphone to mac. My mac can 'see' my iphone with iphoto open, but the box says there are no photos to download. Could anyone help me please? This has never been a problem before (it was fine about 2 weeks ago). I've tried turning both devices off and have spent a couple of hours trying to search for this problem on the internet. I can't remember when I updated to OS 7.1 but I guess that was recently; could this be the problem? Thank you so much.

how to download my photos from iPhone to iMac?

1 - have a bit of patience - 1 minute is not really a long time
2 - since you provide absolutely no information only guesses can be made  -- the best way is PhotoStream - other ways including connecting your iPhone and syncing using iTune  or importing

  • Transferring photos from IPhone to PC

I am attempting to transfer photos from my IPhone to my PC and am having difficulties with pictures that I uploaded to the phone. All of the pics that were in my "Camera Roll" file transferred with no problems. However, the photos that are in two other "albums" will not transfer. My photo software does not recognize the existence of the other albums and therefore will not transfer the photos. I have tried emailing the photos and that doesn't work either. There are some photos on the phone that I don't have anywhere else (due to a computer crash some months ago) and I really want to be able to download them to my computer. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi i wonder if anyone is experiencing the same problems i am having transfereing photos from the 3Gs to a PC. I have plugged the cable in via the usb and the scanner and camera wizard pops up (sometimes), but when you open the advanced user tab there are no photos showing in the window. I have been on to Apple and they have no idea at precent why this is. My mate also has the same problem on a MAC and a PC running XP. The photos are there but i can get them off my phone to a file. ITunes picks up the phone no problem??????

  • Problem downloading photos from iphone 4 ios5 iphoto 11

I uprgraded iphoto to 11, version 9.2, and Iphone 4 to ios 5. Now iphoto will not import photos from iphone 4. Finder would not see phone either. Iphone was hooked to computer using cord from ipad. Switched to cord from iphone and problem went away.

    As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?
    Post back with the result.

  • Trouble downloading photos from iPhone to iMac.  Error message says I need to free up space on Startup Disc

After clicking "Download," the iMac seems to download photos from iPhone.  Eventually, I get message that I need to free up space on Startup Disc by deleting files.  What to do?

You are in a very dangerous situation and you need to fix it now.
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.

  • Transferring photos from iPhone to computer

I have never had a problem with getting my photos onto my computer untill now. I want my photos on my computer but when I plug my USB in it does nothing. Usually I get an option to transfer or copy my photos. But now even when it is plugged in it does not give me that option. HELP! I want my photos on my computer!

As I have already specified earlier, my iPhone 3G is not syncing with my computer/ itune. Tried the option of Downloading photos from iphone directly by default "Windows picture & fax viewer". This programme can only fetch the photos from camera roll - but abruptly stops and exits without warning while attempting to delete photos from the phone - It seen that iphone has some kind of firewall that do not allow any programme to delete any thing from it's directory. One of my freinds has suggested to "Jailbreak" my phone - I did not like his idea to tamper with my expensive camera. Kindly help.

If there are photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll, your iPhone should also be detected as a digital camera when connected to your computer, which means being detected by iPhoto or the Image Capture application for importing the photos.
Since the iPhone does not support disk mode, it won't appear on your Desktop or via the Finder as a connected external drive.
Does your iPhone's Camera Roll include any photos that were saved from a received email, from a website, or from an MMS?
If so, this has been reported to cause problems for some with the iPhone being recognized as a digital camera. I haven't experienced the same, so I don't know what triggers this specifically.
If your iPhone's Camera Roll includes such photos that you want to save, email these photos to yourself followed by saving the photos from the received email on your Mac. After emailing these photos, delete these photos from the iPhone's Camera Roll.

  • Problems transfering photos from my iPhone to my second mac

I have updated my iPhone 3G to the latest iOS on my MacBookPro running MacOS 10.5.8 and iTunes 10.3.1. That is all well. I thought this was no problem, since I want to use my MacBookPro as the backup for my phone from now on. But iTunes 10 will not upload the photos on my iPhone. I get a message telling me that all my photos will be erased if I choose to sync my phone with iPhoto on my new computer.
Up until now I have used my old G5 MacPro running MacOS 10.4.11 to backup and sync my phone with iTunes 9.2.1. It is not possible to update iTunes on the old G5, and the iPhone is no longer compatible.
So how do I get my photos from the iPhone to the harddrive of my new mac?

You cannot transfer photos that you synced to your iOS device from another computer. You can only transfer photos or videos that you took or saved on the iOS device.
You can transfer the photos from the iphone to itunes on the old computer and then transfer that file to a thumbdrive or even email them to yourself if you have that kind of time.
But, if your iphone is no longer compatible with your computer, then it will take some some maneuvering  of files. If you can attach your iphone to the computer and open the files in explorer or Finder, you might be able to move them to a thumbdrive that way.

  • Problem Transfering Photos from PC to iPhone 4 with version 5.1.1

I can't transfer multiple Folders containing photos from my PC to my iPhone.  My digital photos on my PC are simply in Folders as JPEG files.  When I try to transfer the Folders in iTunes I can only select the "All Folders" option.  The "Selected Folders" option is greyed out.  Once I have synced my iPhone this selected folder with photos shows up on my iPhone (both in my Photo Library and in a separate folder named the same as it was copied).
Now, when I try to transfer/sync another Folder to my iPhone the new Folder and photos replace the original Folder and photos if the new folder has more photos.  If the new folder has less photos, then the photos in the original folder are reduced to the number of photos in the new folder, and the new photos are not copied over.  Very weird...Please help.

Not much help here, but you can help yourself.
    1. Create one folder on your desktop.
    2. Copy pictures that you want to have on your iPhone and paste in that one folder.
3 Uncheck box "sync photos" and hit apply
4.Check box "sync photos" and hit apply one time and if necessary, hit sync
Make sure you allow time to complete.

  • Problem Transferring Photos from Old iPhone to new iPhone 5S

The old iPhone was backed up via iTunes Backup on a Windows XP PC.  Most everything (apps, music, books) were copied to the 5S via iTunes, but only 1/2 the photos (approximately 700 of 1600).  But when attempting to restore from the backup, iTunes says there is not enough memory.  Further, unless de-selected, iTunes syncs photos from the My Pictures folder.
The old phone shows 2.4 (of 16) gig of storage available.  The new 5S 3.4.
So, is there a way to get all the pictures moved over, in iTunes, the Cloud or otherwise?  Can the photos on the old phone be synced to iTunes to then be synced to the 5S?

Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can be imported by your computer as with any other digital camera.
Import the photos from the Camera Roll on your old iPhone with your computer. You can place all photos in one folder on your computer or create multiple photo albums or folders for select photos.
Under the Photos tab for your new iPhone sync preferences with iTunes, select the newly created folder or folders or photos that were imported from your old iPhone followed by a sync to transfer the photos from your computer to your new iPhone.
