Problems transferring previously purchased music to new computer through icloud

I have transferred my itunes music to new computer, but purchased music does not appear. How can I restore purchased music? The link ´purchased´in the store does not show music, only movies and apps

iTunes prefs > Store.
Tick Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases.
If it's not there, log out of iTunes store then log back in.
Now select Movies and there will be a column with a cloud.
Click the cloud icon to download.

What type of item is it ? What you can re-download will show under the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes. As long as they are still in the store then your apps and ibooks should appear there, and potentially music, films and tv shows (media can't be re-downloaded in all countries) - audiobooks and ringtones are currently one-time only downloads, so they won't appear.
If they don't show then have you still got copies of the items somewhere e.g. on your old computer (copying between computers) or on a backup of your downloads ?

You are allowed a total of 5 computers at a time to be authorized to play content. It is not necessary to deauthorize an old computer if you are attempting to add a new one unless you have reached your five total allotment. From the Store menu, choose Authorize This Computer and enter your Apple ID and password. At that point you should be able to access your previous purchases. I have included two links listed below. It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.
Use your backup to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to backup ( not good), then you can transfer from an ipod: File>Transfer Purchases

You don't have to repurchase CS5. If you still have the old computer, you should open one of the CS5 applications and choose Help > Deauthorize to remove using that computer from your license.

For what it's worth ...
Apple's policy is clear: iTS purchases can be downloaded only once. It is your responsibility to make back-ups . (For most people, this will involve either CD's/DVD's or an external drive .)
That being said, at their discretion they have made one-time exceptions to this policy. You can ask for an exception by submitting the form on this page:

Problem moving previously purchased music to my new Touch

When I attempt to transfer a song I had purchased into my new Touch and I get an error message that the song can not be transfered because the computer is not authorized to play it. I have tried authorizing the ocmputer, and reauthorizing, and that has not worked. Suggestions or explanations?

Did you try deauthorizing the computer then authorizing?
Also, are you logged into the same account that is on the Touch?

Can't download previously purchased music to new iPad "Associated with another Apple ID"

Hi There,
I have a brand new iPad Air and can see my previous purchases in the Music app. But when I try to download (by clicking the download/cloud icon) I get a confusing error:
"This device is already associated with an Apple ID".
The thing is, this is a brand new device - how could it be associated with another Apple ID?
The only other Apple ID on the device is the one used for iCloud - could this be confusing things?
Does anyone know how to get music onto the device?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Dang it, I accidently marked your question as the answer from the email notifcation and can't change it.
I purchased it from Apple and have been in contact with them for over a week. Unfortuantely, they insist I'm logged in using differnt accounts despite me sending screen shots to the contrary.
I'm posting here becauase I'm getting nowhere with Apple - it's like they're stonewalling or the person I'm dealing with (Russ) is assuming I'm an idiot.
I've been using Apple products for 25 years, look after an OSX server (have also maintained a Microsoft SBS server) so am quite familiar with computers and user accounts.
But this situation has me stmped - both in terms of why it doesn't work, and why I can't get Russ to understand that I'm not logged in using a different Apple ID.
He keeps senindg me links to iTunes terms and conditions - I can't listen to music purchased from Apple on my Apple dvices also purchased from Apple. How can iTunes Ts & Cs justify that?
I've decided to a go a differnt route and report a problem via iTunes and see if I get a more helpful support guy.

I'm looking to load previously purchased songs onto a new computer. My old computer received a virus (those people are going to ****) and I want to recapture all the music I previously purchased. Is that possible?
I tried the "check for purchases" under the tools button but only two songs came through.

Assuming you have an iPod - hook it up to your "puter & you should receive a dialogue box which states that there are songs on your iPod that are not on your "puter "do you wish to transfer them?
Press Ok & sit back & relax. If not call apple & explain your plight to them, they can do this as I found out ( before I sussed connecting my iPod up though!). However they will ask you to detail all your purchase dates & order No.s etc. but you will be able to get this info by logging on to your iTunes account. Tiresome but it worked for me!.

No, this is not true. You get ONE download. It is your responsibility to backup your own music, and to move it where you want it.
You can use your backup copy to do this, home share ( http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3819 ), migration assistant ( if your old computer is a mac.

Uploading Previously purchased songs to new computer

I'm having trouble tranferring previously purchased songs from my IPOD nano to my new lap top. When I attempt to transfer, about 25 of my 100 previously purchased songs transfer and the remainder do not. Something about not being authorized to transfer to this computer. All 100 songs were purchased off I-Tunes.

I am having similar problems. I have my library (and playlists) on my new computer, the new compte has been authorised and the previously purchased songs play on the computer. However, since then I have connected my ipod for a update and all my previously purchased songs were removed from my ipod. Why has it done this? The songs are still in my new computer and are playable. Can they be put back on my ipod?

I just purchased my new Macbook and got a Nano too. at the time of purchase I was told by the apple people that I would be able to download all the purchased iTunes from my acct to my new Macbook, but I can't find how to do that. I have a fire wire on order, but would like to get some of my music asap so I can start using it. Any ideas?

If the computer isn't authorized to play the music, choose Authorize Computer from the Store menu in iTunes and provide the username and password associated with your iTunes Store account. In either case, connect the iPod to your computer and go through the iPod Setup Assistant; iTunes will then transfer the contents of its library to the iPod.
