Problems Transporting Infosource

Dear BW Experts:
When I transport an Infosource, all goes active except the transfer rules.
I have connected BW Dev with R/3 Test, and I want to transport to BW Test and connect it to R/3 Test. The source system from R/3 Test is already created in BW Test.
I think I need to configure something.... could it be the conversion table for source system in transport conexion?
Thanks in advance.
Pablo.

hi,
i think oss note 674818 can solve the problem
674818 - RSAR711 - "Error determining a number from object...
Symptom
RSAR711 - "Error determining a number from object... and number 1"
The following objects (number range objects) may be reported:
BI_TSDTEL
BI_TS
Other terms
711 (RSAR), RSAR, 711
Reason and Prerequisites
The number range object intervals cannot be created automatically if the user who executes the transport after-import method is not logged on to the BW-client.
This error usually occurs during the initial transport of transfer rules or transfer structures into a system in which no intervals have yet been created for the number range objects specified above. The after-import method of a transport request runs in client 000. This error occurs because the BW client is a client other than '000'.
Solution
Use transaction SNUM to manually create an interval for the reported number range object. Then repeat the transport or activation.
The number range interval must also be created manually in the production system. A transport is not possible.

    Hi!
I think it's better to call SAP support, if you have problems with the licenses...

  • Problem transporting Report painter reports

    Hi experts,
I have created a report painter report by copying another report and added it to a transport request in GCTR. This transport moved to Quality system. Later, I identified that this request also transporting the library and sets which are already exist in production system.
Could you please suggest if this can be moved to production. does this make any problem in production
    Thank you very much
    Thanks,
    Bharath

    Hi Bharath,
If the dependent objects are already available in your target system, you can avoid transporting them.
While creating the transport request through GCTR, ensure that 'under Further details section, checkbox - With dependent objects is not marked'.
    Thanks,

  • Problems transporting objects from DEV to QAS

    Hi,
The problem is that I can't transport any object (Datatypes, message types, service interface, message mapping, etc.) in XI from DEV to QAS.
I did all the steps to transport objects:
    1. Export the objects from XI-DEV
    2. Import them in XI-QAS
    3. A message of successfull import is shown; however the objects can't be visualized. When I check the log it shows the message that I copied in my previous post.
    Hope you can help me.
    Thanks.

  • Transport InfoSources to New Source System

    Hi.
When implementing BW in our QA environment, all InfoSources, and their related InfoPackages, Transfer Rules, Update Rules, etc.) were created using a temporary R3 QAS source system mapping (ex.TMP).  We are now removing this temporary client and  I now need to change my InfoSources (along with customized Start Routines, InfoPackages, etc.) to point to a new QAS source system (ex. PRM).
Note that this new source system is already identified as a source system for BW and all DataSources created on TMP have been transported to PRM.  Subsequently, all DataSources have been replicated from PRM to BW.
However, I'm having trouble on the BW end.  I can't easily
transfer the InfoSources, etc. to the new source system.  I've asked some BW / Basis folks and they suggest transporting the InfoPackages out-of and then back-into the BW QA client.  Is this possible?  Is there a better way to push my InfoSources, InfoPackages, etc. from the old source client (TMP) to the new one (PRM)?  Thanks!

    Dear Dave
Please do not attempt to change the logical system name your self, as I feel that you have not tried it before.
This is some thing that your basis people have to do. Depending on the size of database this change can take from 2-24 hours (not exact times, but just some thing to show the magnitude of the task).
    Good luck
    /FZA

  • Which problems transporting a kernel of functionalities from sandbox system

    Hi All,
we are developing a kernel of functionalities on a ECC 6.0 sandbox system. Now we want to transport this kernel from sandobox system (AD0) to our development system (EPD). So all the new developments will be made from EPD. We have read the oss note 130906 about the copy of the complete version history of all AD0 repository objects. Which could be other kind of problems?
    Regards,
    Bob

    Anthony,
Yes. Your interpretation is correct. Objects which are trying to import are already in change mode of some other XI change request.
Just check if you / any other person has imported any other object before using differnt User ID and not activated yet.
    Solution:
What you need to do is goto ID and select "Change List". Under change list select User ="ALL" and click on display..it will show you all change request( which are not activated) for all users.
Right click on "Standard change list" under "change request name" and click on transfer...it will tranfer rrequest on your name..and you can activate them.
Once you activate this you shall be able to import your objects again.
Always remember to import one IB objecs file and activate it before importing new one...also import using same user id so that you will not get this kind of conflict.
Note : When you import IR object ...they get imported in Active status where as you have to manually activate IB objects after importing.
Hope this will solve your problem..
Let us know if you need more details.

  • Problem transporting the text element translated into Korean language

    Hi guys,
I have created a new data element for the program and make a Korean translation for the new data element.
However, upon transport only the new data element in English language is transported to the QA box, the Korean translation was not.
Did I miss something in my transport request? Or have I done something worng?
    Thanks a lot!
    Regards,
    Mark

    Hi Mark,
You need to create the separate transport for the translations which SAP will create for you once you do all the steps as I told.
Once you give all the details as told, just press EDIT button by choosing correct language.

  • Having problem transporting code to qa

    Hi
I have nwds installed locally used for java applications  I connect to the client network to get access to dev server and deploy my application there. Previously I copied the .ear to a location and informed the same to the basis team, they got all of them deployed to qa.
But now, we upgraded our servers, now we have nwdi in place and no acces to any client servers. I have checked in my code and deployed my code to dev, the basis team says that, they cannot see object in CMS. We all are new for transports/nwdi. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance

When you activate your changes in NWDS  the transport has to go to the DEV system. Check whether the systems are properly configured in the runtime systems of NWDI. Hope you are aware of the NWDS process.

  • Problems Transporting SAPQUERY INFOSET (Global) From DEV to Production

I made modifications to an INFOSET using SQ01. I trapped the modifications in a transport. The modifications transported successfully to our Quality Assurance (Q/A) environment. When we move the transport to our Pre-Production environment the transport logs state it migratwed successfully, but the modifications are not present. Pre-Prod security mirrors our production environment, therefore I'm unable to "adjust" the infoset or generate it. That constitutes making changes which I'm not allowd to do in production.
Is there an established method to transport a global infoset from a test environment to production?

You can set the object changability flags to allow you to make mods to either of three major components of process chains:
    1.  Process chain - lets you change the chain
    2.  Process starter - lets you change the start process
    3.  Process variant - lets you change process variants
Go to the admin workbench and select transport.  Find the changability options in the upper right portion of the screen and set the process starter to everything changeable.  Leave the other set to changable original or set to no changes to lock that portion down.
That should get you around your current issue.
As an added check, us table RSPCCHAIN to figure out if the whole chain is ready and active for migrating.  Plug in the chain technical name and set the version to A and if the number of entries matches the number of processes all processes are active and ready to be migrated.

  • Problem transporting data source on R/3 side - missing text

    Hi guys
We are trying to transport a BC data source with enhancement from DEV to TEST. The person doing the enhancement is long gone.
When we try to include the data source in a transport, we get the error:
"The short text of data source … is not maintained in language E"
If we login in English we can see the short text missing. However this being BC, how do we add the text?
    Hope you can help guys...
    Kind regards
    Karsten

    Hi Karsten,
This text missing, is from the transfer structure?
You may access from transaction se11 and edit the transfer structure in English, and add the missing texts in that language.
Let me know if you need any further help.
    Hope it helps.

    Hello Anand,
    1. In RSA1 -> Transport Connector ->Object types -> query views ->Two query views are selected. YES (or)No
Yes, Collect only the view if the Query is already transported. If the query is not transported then select the Query with Dataflow afterwards it will collect all the views as well.
    2. If selecting views i am not selecting the query and query elements, only the views. YES (or) No
Yes, if the query are already transported.
3 And i saved the querys in Package and created a TP. YES (or) No
Yes, definitely you have to capture these views in a package and transport request.
Once the views are collected in a transport request , release the request and inform the transport team to import to the target system (Qual or Prod)
Note : In BI/BW BEx tranports are handled differently and not like other objects such as InfoCube, InfoObject. So whenever you are working with BEx Objects make sure that you assing a transport request in the following
RSA1->Transport Connect -> BEx Icon (Truck Symbol) -> Assign Package and Request using the Assign Button.
If you transport system is configured to capture the BEx objects during creation or modification then the above step is not required.
    Thanks

  • Problem transporting table entries

    Hi,
I need to transport my table entries frm development to test and production. However, even if i us standard recording routine in the table maintenance and then create entries ant transport, it doesnt work.
Also, is there an option to do it directly from SE11? Do i need admin rights?
    Regards

    Hi,
Table entries can be forcefully included in a transport request and can be transported to the required system.
For including the table entries in a request,Follow the below mentioned procedure.
but the data will be stored under workbench request
    1.create a workbunch request in se01.
2.Double click on the request no.
3.Select the object tab in the new screen appeared.
    4.Go for change mode (Ctrl+F1)
5.Select the Program id as R3TR and Object Type as TABU.
6.Give the Object name as Table name(ZTABLE)
7.Click on the function button on that row.
Give * in that editor appeared and save this.
Now all the table entries are binded in that request and can be transported across the server.
instead if you are putting on the user recordin on in TMG it will ask for a request each time you save some entries in the table.
