Problems trying to install CS5.5 Design Premium on a second machine

I have downloaded the software on to my new machine but I am told that serial number is wrong, don't know where to go from here.
I am pretty sure that this is only the second machine I have installed on - no obvious way of finding out though

    Check your Adobe account online... it will be the only place you might find it if you registered the software and if you did not keep a record of it yourself.

    I am trying to install CS5.5 web premium on a new Windows 8 computer. I had installed it before but Illustrator would not run. I tried reinstalling just Illustrator that did not work. So I uninstalled the whole suite, and planned to reinstall the whole thing. But I get "Installer failed to initialize. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem." So I download ASA, and try to run the .exe and nothing happens.

    Run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, then try again. Also check this:

    I successfully installed CS5.5 Design Premium in my computer but the CS5 version still exists in my drive causing a visual mess. Can I uninstall it? Will it harm my CS5.5 installation? How do I uninstal?

    You can uninstall it but it will affect your file associations.  I would recommend removing both CS5 and 5.5 and then reinstalling 5.5.

    I own CS5.5 Design Premium. It's on my desktop, I need to install it on my new Mac Book Pro laptop.
    Successfully downloaded "DesignPremium_CS5_5_LS1.dmg" entered the correct serial # in the first window, then it asks for it again and will not accept it.
    What to do?

    if you have an upgrade serial number you are being prompted for the qualifying product after entering your cs5.5 serial number.  select it from the dropdown and then enter the qualifying product's serial number.
    enter the correct number at the correct time and installation should proceed.

    Hello,
    Apple support swiped and upgraded my computer and now I cannot access my adobe suite app's. The adobe agent directed me here for help. I bought the design premium suite cd years ago with the software and I have misplaced the cd but the serial number still works correctly according to adobe agent. I downloaded the CS5.5 from adobe and clicked install. An error message popped up saying the app's authorization has been revoked and the app's cannot be opened. What is the next step? How would I get ahold of the software developer? Please help! I really need access to my files and work and would appreciate any help at all.

    Hi, I'm pulling my hair out here.
    I bought CS5.5 Student/Teacher edition and applied for my serial number from Adobe. After validation of my proof of education Adobe sent me a serial number. When I attempt to install I get the message "This serial number is not valid for this product" Anyone know why, I've looked under the installation help guidelines but to no avail. I'm using Mac.

    Djsunrize008 did your system restore include anything beyond your documents and settings?  If so this could be why you are facing your current difficulties.
    You can review the PDApp.log to determine what errors are leading it the failure to initialize message.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret the PDApp.log file at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

    MoeGhazal I reviewed your account and it looks like you have have upgraded from a CS4 volume license for Design Premium to a retail upgrade of Design Premium 5.5.
    I also show that you made two purchases of CS5.5 Design Premium but the second purchase was canceled.  Please make sure you are utilizing the serial number which ends in 7886.
    If you are using the correct serial number then it is likely the installer will not recognize your volume license CS4 serial number as being valid for an upgrade.  If you can contact our support team then you can be walked through an unlocking procedure to allow you to proceed with the installation.  You can contact our support team directly at Contact Customer Care.  You may want to try installing a web browser you have not previously utilized.  It is likely a toolbar or some other software application is affecting your ability to access chat support successfully.
    If you are still unable to reach our support team then please verify the information under your account is accurate.  If you can please then update this discussion after confirming this then I can request a member of our support team contact you directly.

    Thanks for your answer. The reason is because I am working on a Navy computer with limited space on my C Drive.  I have more space available to me on a "D" Drive.  I am running Windows XP with 3GB RAM and 17GB on the D.  I only have 10GB on the C Drive, but that needs to stay open for system patches, & other software.  Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 is installed on the C.

    I bought a "Student & Teacher Edition" of the CS5.5 Design Premium in 2012. It was installed in my iMac and the software worked perfectly. Unfortunately, a few weeks ago, my iMac hard disk crashed and need to be replaced. When I got the iMac back recently, I re-installed my various softwares, including the CS5.5. The re-installation process went well initially until the 93% mark when there is a message that tells me to turn off the "SafariNotificat" application. I have no clue what that was. After looking through all the applications, I could not find such "SafariNotificat" application, I cancelled the installation process. Apparently, all the applications in the CD were installed successfully, except for the Adobe Acrobat X Pro. When I attempted to install my CD again. I received error message "Exit Code: 7 -------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------  - 1 fatal error(s), 2 error(s), 0 warning(s)  ERROR: DW020: Found payload conflicts and errors: ERROR: DW020:  - Adobe Flash CS5.5 depends on Flash Player to be installed. FATAL: DW020: Conflicts were found in the selected payloads. Halting installation. -----------". This happens even when I installed using the downloaded program from Adobe. Can anyone advise me on this? How can I get my Adobe Acrobat X Pro re-installed? Thank you.

    Hi! Mylenium, I managed to solve the problem through another forum entitled : "Creative Suite 5.5 Design Premium Installation". I followed the instructions (by robski) i.e. uninstalled the Flash Catalyst and reinstalled both the Flash Catalyst and Adobe Acrobat X Pro. The applications were successfully installed and working fine! Thank you for your help too! Cheers!

    Hi, did anybody had already problems with the CS5.5 Design Premium Suite on OSX Lion? I purchased the software as a Volume licenced product recently and everything was working fine, until since few days my Indesign and Illustrator keep crashing on launch. I de-installed and re-installed the entire CS5 Suite on my iMac, but Indesign and Illustrator still keep on crashing while launching. I already rang the Adobe tech support but they are not very helpful at all... Its quite frustrating.

There are some handy articlles on Adobe's web site relating to compatability with Lion, but I have experienced none. Have you checked the third party plug-ins in Illustrator and InDesign for compatability if you have any installed?
