Problems Uninstalling and Re-installing

I'm having trouble with Adobe. I've tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, but it still is not creating PDF's. When I open an existing PDF, I get an error message and the screen exits out right away.
The last time I tried to reinstall Adobe 7.0 Professional update and 5.0 Adobe, I got an error message that it was not completely uninstalled.
In addition to uninstalling Adobe 7.0 and 5.0, do I need to uninstall Shock Wave, Flash Player, Reader and Distiller?

You probably cleaned the registry pretty good, so I'd suspect the problem is with the 8i setup.exe not executing properly in the Windows 2000 GUI. It will start the thread but not display.
What you need to do is get to a Command Prompt, then navigate to the directory that the setup.exe file is in, then execute it through the command line ("setup").
It should work.

Problems before and after Uninstall and re-install CS4

I went ahead and uninstalled and re-installed CS4 because of freeze ups and other difficulties. Program After Effects is now crashing - see attachment. There is also a problem with an importer plugin (I think) may be related. I can't tell. I have not tried any other projects. I did however, disconnect the Matrox MX02 Mini, but still had problems. The MX02 is now re-connected.
I wonder if installing CS4 on top of CS3 is an issue? I remember having a similar problem goiing from CS2 to CS3. I had to downloader a cleaning utility from Adobe (I think) to remove every bit of CS2 and then run CCleaner.
It's my own fault - trying to upgrade software and hardware at the same time. It's hard to isolate. For now, I'l just have to do with Premiere since it is working. But, I'd sure like to know what's going on.

Did you re-install all other Adobe products as well? If not, then that may be the problem. Uninstalling/ reinstalling only one of them messes with MediaCore and certain otehr functions. The quick fix is to download the manuala (!) update packages for After Effects, Premiere Pro/Encore and Adobe Media Encoder from the support pages and run them. This usually bends things in place. If not, then you will probably have to uninstall again, this time including every Adobe app, use the CS4 Clean Script and reinstall.

First of all, why did you say yes to Nero Back up before researching what it does with files already on the HDD? When I install Nero, the Back Up is the first thing I disable, it is a nagging pain, there are much better backup programs available. There are several file recovery programs out there to recover deleted files, that is, if that is what happened. Also, if you haven't overwritten the files, so you should be able to find them.

Note that, as it says in those articles:
iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and are not deleted by removing iTunes. While it is highly unlikely that you will lose any contents of your iTunes Library when following these steps, it is always a good idea to ensure that your iTunes library is backed up. If you're unsure how to backup, see iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive.

These Canon printer/scanner drivers from Apple - http://support.apple.com/kb/DL899 - should work. The MP250 is listed on the support page. Try downloading and installing them.

- I've used Firefox exclusively for around 2 years.
- My outlook express has no problems
- other programs seem unaffected; it seems peculiar to Firefox.
- my main use is surfing the net, primarily entering competitions on line via specialist competition sites.
- every day at some stage(s) I have to switch computer off as Firefox has got very slow/sticky/freezes.
I'm not techy by any means, but I can only thing of un- and re-installing to hopefully start with a clean slate.

Without proper system information and other details like what files you work with nobody can tell you much. From corrupted prefs to issues with your PS swap file to actual problems with the fiel storage this could be anything.

How do you uninstall and re-install on the same computer and keep all of your 'stuff'?

My TBird has gotten a little wonky and despite the best efforts of your support forum, it appears it is gonna stay 'wonky'.
Therefore, I would like to uninstall and re-install it and see if that solves the problem, but, of course, I would like to somehow export my messages/folders and address books.
I used an add-on called IMPORTEXPORTTOOLS to export my folders It gives you various options though and I didn't know the best one to choose.
Also, I couldn't figure out how to export my address book. I exported all of this to an Email product called CLAWS (which I can't even get to work...lol). However, if worse comes to worse, I can perhaps import them from the CLAWS client.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

ImportExportTools is good for saving/backup of your mail. For what you want, probably the zipped folders would be the easiest. You can export your address book(s) to a file (use LDIF; it's much easier to import later).
However, these are only pieces of the profile. With TB NOT running, you can copy your entire profile to another location/medium just by doing a file copy. Look at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-tb#w_how-to-find-your-profile I copy mine to a USB memory.
When you uninstall and reinstall TB, you will not be changing your profile! So if you want a really clean start, see https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/using-multiple-profiles to create a new/clean profile. Don't delete your old one; you may need parts of it.
If things are still 'wonky' after a new start, let me know.

Adobe AIR Error - Uninstalling and Re-installing does not work?

I keep getting this error everytime I turn n my laptop. I have uninstalled and re-installed Adobe AIR several times and still keep getting this error after it tells me it has been installed successfully. "This installation of this application is damage. Try re-installing or contacting the publisher for assistance." What is wrong with this program? I cannot keep uninstalling and re-installing this program and it is not installing properly.

Error on iTunes--online advice said to uninstall and re-install now it says error

Monday my iTunes was working great. Today I got a notification for a software update, did the update. Tonight iTunes did not work. I checked several sites, they recommended uninstalling and re-installing.
uninstalled--no problem.
re-installing--HUGE problem. Download fine, installation first said I had to verify items (with no way/option to verify) and then if you asked to retry, it said the installation was complete but it gave the "Error 7 (Windows error 126)" message. I checked online, loaded the fixes they recommened and I am still getting the same messages.
Help!! can anyone give some advice?

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information.
Note: ''This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.''
To Reset Firefox do the following:
#Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
#Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
#Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
#Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.
