Problems uploading published file to personal domain

I shared an event from iPhoto to iWeb, creating a photo-page for my event. It all looks good in iWeb. I then publish it to a folder, and check that folder.
Everything looks great there as well, but when I upload the folder to my personal domain via ftp, my photos can't be seen.
I have checked that all files are uploaded. I have tested both Firefox 2.0.0.11 and Safari 3.1.1, the site is not working in any of the browsers.
The site can be found at http://dropbox.perenstrom.com/lincon2008/gallery/ if anyonw wants to see how it looks.
Grateful for any advice on what to do.

That directory is not part of the iWeb gallery, those are the original files I uploaded for people to download them. Directory listing in that directory is handled by a separate .php-file.

Are you totally sure that your image files are on the server in the right place for access from the gallery page? Could you provide the path to one of them?
It seems possible there could also be a problem with the javascripts being recognized. Does your server already have a scripts folder that might cause a conflict?
The filesize for the folder locally and the folder remotely is the same, so yeah. The path to one of the pictures is (my friend Mårten on the picture, say hello): http://dropbox.perenstrom.com/lincon2008/gallery/Site/LinCon2008_files/Media/DSC_5554/DSC5554.jpg
There shouldn't be a conflict, at least I can't figure out where that would be.

http://dropbox.perenstrom.com/lincon2008/gallery/LinConGallery/Site/LinCon2008files/rss.xml
I think this is due to misconfigure MIME type.
Contact your host admin people.
Could you please expand and explain what you mean by that? The .xml-file can now be found at http://dropbox.perenstrom.com/lincon2008/gallery/Site/feed.xml - this is the same address as stated in the .html-file; granted it returns an error when read.
The feed-file works locally, so you're probably right when saying that there's something wrong with the server.
This problem seems to only affect the rss-files, and those shouldn't affect the gallery itself, right?
Directory listing has now been disabled.
Since last time I have moved the gallery up one level in the tree, this to make the feeds point to the right files, since this is the only thing I enter when sharing the gallery from iWeb. The gallery is now in the right position; the path I stated when sharing.

  • How to Publish to a personal domain AND .Mac?

I had a working iWeb site published to web.mac and it working fine. I added a new site in iWeb08 and set up a personal domain. When I selected the new site and published, BOTH my old site and the new one published to my personal domain. How do I tell iWeb08 to publish one site to a personal domain and another site to .Mac (.Me)?

This post is a little confusing. Do you have two sites hosted at MMe or not?
Do you mean that you used to host your business site and MMe and have now switched to uploading directly to your web host using ftp? If you have, then you can of course delete this site from your iDisk/MMe account, because if you have uploaded directly, then MMe has nothing to do with your domain name any more.
If you have not done this and you are hosting both your sites on your MMe account via either CNAME or web forwarding, then no, you can't delete that site because if you do, there is nowhere to forward to.
Password protection will not affect any other sites that you have. Just go into iWeb and set this up and then re-publish and it will just affect that site that you set it up for. Nothing else.

  • Problems uploading big files via FTP and downloading files

I've been having problems uploading big files like video files (.mov 12MB) via FTP to my website (small files like .html or .doc I can upload but it takes longer than usual). I'm using Fetch 4.0.3. as FTP. Same problems when downloading files via Bit Torrent. I recently moved to Spain, since then I seem to have the problem. But my roommate with a PC doesn't have that problem. Connecting to internet with Ethernet cable also didn't resolve the problem. I also tested it from a Starbucks coffee connecting to Internet from there but still couldn't upload that 12MB file to the FTP. The security settings for firewall are set to "allow all incoming connections". I didn't change any of my settings so I don't know what the problems could be. I have a MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.5.7) Any suggestions? Thanks!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Much of what is available on Bittorrent is not legal, beta, or improperly labelled versions. If you want public domain software, see my FAQ*:
    http://www.macmaps.com/macosxnative.html#NATIVE
for search engines of legitimate public domain sites.
http://www.rbrowser.com/ has a light mode that supports binary without SSH security.
    http://rsug.itd.umich.edu/software/fugu/ has ssh secure FTP.
Both I find are quick and a lot more reliable than Fetch. I know Fetch used to be the staple FTP program, but it grew too big for my use.

  • Problem uploading PHP files [was: PHP files]

I am having a problem uploading PHP files from Dreamweaver to my file manager on my web host.
[Subject line edited by moderator to make meaning clearer. Thread also moved to the Dreamweaver Application Development forum]

I see this is your first post. Welcome.
Please take a few minutes to read How to get help quickly. Also post in the correct forum. The Dreamweaver General Discussion forum is for questions about DW in general, CSS, and design problems. Questions about PHP and server-side issues should go in the Dreamweaver Application Development forum.
It's very hard to give you any help, because the information you have given is so sparse. The only advice I can give is to check that you have set up the Remote Server details correctly in the Site Definition dialog box. See http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Dreamweaver/10.0_Using/WSBE25912D-A9DE-4ba1-9F85-4C692F5C14ADa .html.

  • Publishing to a personal domain on .Mac with iWeb08 feature?

I was wondering if anyone could answer a simple question for me. I have a a website I created on iWeb08 and I publish to .Mac. I also have my own domain registered at GoDaddy.com that we call www.mydomainexample.com for ease.
Is there a difference between having GoDaddy forward to my domain name with masking versus having using the iWeb08 feature to publish to a personal domain on .Mac?
Currently if my friends go to www.mydomainexample.com they get my website and no matter where they browse on the site the URL stays www.mydomainexample.com. Is that the same that would happen with publishing to a personal domain on .Mac through iWeb08? Or would it say (again as an example) www.mydomainexample.com/welcome or ..../album or .../blog etc?
    Thanks

So basically publishing to a personal domain on .Mac would remove the portion of the URL that says it is a .Mac account?
    So instead of:
    http://web.mac.com/macidname/sitename/Welcome.html
If I published to a personal domain on .Mac it would read this:
    http://www.mydomainexample.com/sitename/Welcome.html
So it would at least give me a little privacy and get rid of my .Mac ID in the URL I guess.
The way I have it now with forwarding and masking every page just comes up as:
    http://www.mydomainexample.com
which is fine but does not allow someone to go to one of the individual pages directly, only the main page I guess
A side question would be then that I thought I heard that if you maintain 2 sites you can't publish to 2 personal domains on .Mac correct? Only one? If that is true can I publish one site to a personal domain and then leave the other forwarded and masked through my domain manager the way I have it already?
    Thanks again

  • Uploading iWeb site to personal domain via FTP client (NOT .MAC)

    Hello,
I want to upload my iweb created website to my personal domain, in other words I do not want my domain to point to my .mac address.
I am downloading Cyberduck as my FTP client. Will I just send my whole "site" folder to my public folder at my personal domain? Will it be in the right order? How will I update each day? (Can I set up iWeb so that when I click "publish" it will update my personal domain?)
I was planning on using some wordpress plugins to modify my site. Will this work? I am totally lost, I had no idea I needed so much background info to blog outside of .mac! I guess I just want to design with iweb, and be able to use all the tools of my AN Hosting and wordpress.
Thanks for your help in advance!

Will I just send my whole "site" folder to my public folder at my personal domain?
You send the folder created by iWeb which has the same name as you gave your site inside the iWeb app, plus the index.html file which iWeb created alongside that folder.
How will I update each day?
By publishing again to a folder and uploading again via ftp.
(Can I set up iWeb so that when I click "publish" it will update my personal domain?)
No. If iWeb could do that you would not need an ftp program to start with.
I was planning on using some wordpress plugins to modify my site.
No idea, but generally speaking modifying iWeb to add stuff requires manual editing of the html after publishing and redoing it every time you republish.

  • Has anyone else had problems uploading modifyed files to an external server

Hi, My website bilyz.com has been running OK on two external servers, two different hosting providers, yet neither will allow me to upload modified files.
Since both external servers will run my site OK this narrows the problem source down to my site construction (pre 2014 update) or to Muse software.
The external servers will accept all my html files without a hitch but stalls at various images and not always the same image.
Now I have totally rebuilt the site by stripping out all images, resizing them and remounting them into the slider widget but it doesn't make a difference.
The external server technicians are at a loss to explain and after research have referred me back to Adobe Muse.
    Kind regards
    Bill Watters

    Thank you Aish
As per your suggestion I published the unchanged site to Business Catalyst as bilyzcom.businesscatalyst.com and it uploaded without a fault. Then I made an alteration to the Gallery page where I changed one image in the slider and a small typo on the Design page. Then published again but this time I selected 'options' and clicked on 'modified files only' Result: The site uploaded perfectly and the altered pages showed the recent changes.
So can we conclude that the source of the problem isn't in the Muse software?.
However, If this problem only occurs with the external server since the update; it also stalls when uploading all files and with modified files so could it point to the recent Muse 2014 update?
Yesterday I have also uninstalled my most recent version then re-installed it via the Creative Cloud File manager. . My copy is 2014.0.1.30 CL 785017
I hope this gives you something to work on.
I look forward to your reply.

No I have not used any third-party upload files.
I have contacted my host, but they haven't gotten back to me - Dreamhost - and I'm
waiting and waiting . . . as my deadline gets later and later.
In the meantime you could start using FileZilla - a free tool to upload your files.  Don't rely on Dreamhost because they could destroy your livelihood.  They couldn't care less about customers.  This is my experience with them.

It is unlikely we would know either but have you uploaded/linked the relevant scripts and CSS files?  I believe PVII products rely heavily on scripts so this might be the problem
I suggest repost your query to their forums as they should know what the problem could be.  We don't use any third party products here.

From what you're describing that's happening you're syncing the whole site each time you are saving changes and there's a problem with the permission settings. I'm not saying that's the case but just from the description that's what it sounds like.

  • Problem uploading a file to a specific website

    Hello everyone,
I'm trying to upload one file, (2.5 MB) to a specific website but I receive an error message saying "Gateway Timeout".
I don't get this message for files that are smaller, for example files that are 300 KB.
I also can upload files larger than this size (2.5 MB) successfully on other sites, like youtube.com etc ...
When we don't use proxy between the upload goes well. I have to mention that the IP web proxy is behind a Checkpoint Firewall.
I know that only with this information it's not possible to solve the issue but if someone can suggest me some topics how to troubleshoot this problem,
    I would be very gratefull.
    Thank you and best regards,
    Ilir

Sorry for the (very) late answer!
We are running 6.3.5-015 on our productivity proxies and the http upload of large files fails, independet of the destination.
I've installed 7.0.0 on a test proxy an file upload works fine! So it seems to be a problem of the 6.3 release.
Because we are using a M160 for managing we don't want to upgrade all proxies to 7.0 and will wait for 7.1 which will also be available for the M160 as I read.
Packet capture I cant't deliver, sorry...
But if you have another idea or a release date for 7.1, I will appreciate it!
    Thanks in advance,
    Nils

  • Anyone have a problem submitting podcast to a personal domain with iWeb 08?

I created a new website with several podcasts and published fine to a personal domain. Works great. When I try to submit the podcasts to iTunes through iWeb I get the following error message:
"We had difficulty reading this feed. Bad http result code:401"
Anyone else get this? Is the personal domain messing with the feed?
    Any help appreciated.

Well... I have mine from godaddy...
In iWeb06 the redirect was a long URL... now it's shorter (or so it seems).
GoDaddy still handles the redirect - like it did before.
The change happens in the CSS scripting (HTML?) where iWeb thought it needed to send the RSS to www.threeboysproductions.com it wasn't taking in iTunes.
Forcing iWeb to rewrite the RSS script to web.mac.com/captmench.
People wanting to go to www.tbp.com still can... and see it as such. The subscribe at iTunes won't matter.
    Good luck,
    CaptM

  • Publishing to a personal domain name

The Personal Domain button is missing from my Accounts Settings page. How else can I publish to my own domain?
    -Tino

You have obviously entered your personal domain name into your MMe account at some stage and either set up CNAME forwarding or web forwarding for your domain. All you need to do is delete your domain name from your MMe account and then go to your domain registrar and remove the CNAME settings.
However, whether you do this or not, as Tom said, iWeb will publish to MobileMe whatever and will always publish here to you iDisk, so you can always access your site by going to web.me.com/username/sitename. Remember, that this is why you have to set up forwarding, because when you click on publish in iWeb, it never publishes straight to your domain, always you iDisk/MMe account.

  • I cannot publish my to personal domain from iWeb via the publish button.

Ive registered the domain at mobile me and entered the cname at the registrar and still nothing. when i publish and its done i go to visit now and the site comes up but when i hit a link from somewhere else like google, i get the old unupdated site.

Firstly, no you do not register a domain name at MobileMe. MobileMe does not register domain names, it just hosts them. So what you actually did was enter your domain name into your MobileMe account under the Personal domain name settings.
Have you checked for sure that you have set up CNAME forwarding correctly? Check that you have as you need to forward your domain name (alias) to web.me.com (host).
Sometimes CNAME forwarding can take a little time, so you might find that your updated site is there now. What you can do however is go back into iWeb and publish the site again, so click publish all to MobileMe and this might work having set up to connect with your domain name.
You could also go and check your iDisk to see if the most current site is in your iWeb sites folder.

  • Problems Uploading to file storage

I recently started with Adobe ConnectNow and see a lot of
potential. I am having no luck uploading to storage in the files
section of the system. I have tried simple text, RTF, MS Word 2003
and 2007 - None will upload. I get the following message: "The file
xxxxxxx cannot be added to Acrobat.com; please try again later"
I realize there is a virus check on the uploaded files but
this does not appear to be the problem. The files have never
    appeared on the file list.
The process for uploading seems straight forward. What can be
the issue that prevents the files from loading?

I have been using FireFox 3.0.1as my browser. When I switched
to Internet Explorer v 7.06, the loads worked fine. I was under the
impression that FireFox was an acceptable browser for using the
ConnectNow system. Is there a required add-in?

Any ideas what could be causing this?  I get this error both in the example application and in my application.  I also get this error in both the 10g (XE) database and in the 11g enterprise database.
    Thanks in advance.

I also have checked if my upload directory has enough space.

  • Problem uploading a file to tomcat

    Hey!
Im tyring to upload a file to a subdirectory of the root folder in Tomcat Apache but it gives me a "Access denied" error message...
    Im using the org.apache.commons.fileupload classes.
Has anybody got an idea on what could be wrong?
Im not all that experienced as yet so feel free to spell it out for me ok...

Access denied suggests your user account doesn't have permission to write to this folder, I don't think its anything to do with java as such at all.
