Problems using You Tube

This may or may not be connected to the actual mac but whenever I view something in you tube, the image plays for 2-3 sections, freezes for 5-6 sections, plays again and repeats this process. Does anyone know why this might be happening or what I can do to resolve it.

You may want to look for a software update....
It doesn't happen on mine!!?? Very strange... try it with another video site such as... www.viddler.com
its like youtube.... Watch a video and then if it does t again bring it in somewhere... it isn't normal...

Using You Tube Karaoke Videos on a Mac

Hi, I have a Mac Book Pro currently using Leopard 10.6.8.
I would like to connect my Mac to my home theatre system and use You Tube karaoke videos. I am currently able to connect my Mac to my HT system via an HDMI connection, with no problems, but I fail to see how I can use YT karaoke videos through the TV and sound system (via my Mac) and also connect a mic, or 2 mics. If the audio and visuals are coming from the Mac via the HT, how can the HT also produce sound for the mic, I can't see how it can 2 jobs at once, so do I need a mixer?
I thought if I used a YT video downloader it wouldn't really change anything as I have basically 2 sound sources to be fed through one amp (the HT) and cannot see how that can be done.

Error message this video can not be played on iPad using you tube

Why do I get this error message when using you tube and how can I solve it. It just started happening recently.

There are a few possibilities I can think of.
A) file names are too long. What is "too long" for an iPod? I don't know, you'd have to experiment, but some people with outrageously long file names were unable to sync the file over.
B) Something in your conversion settings is incorrect. The iPod is pretty specific in what it will accept.

--this seems unlikely if you've used the iPod defaults in each of the programs you've tried.
C) Are you certain that you are asking iTunes to sync the iPod-compatible videos to the iPod and not the original videos? In other words, you've converted your videos, removed the originals from iTunes and imported the converted videos into iTunes to sync to your iPod. The original videos and the converted videos might have the same name.
D) various strange problems happen when updating iPod firmware and/or iTunes. If you've done the 5 R's (http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/), then you may need to consider downgrading the iPod software and/or iTunes. Remember that in the 5 R's, "Restore" deletes your content, so be sure to have a backup of your iPod content. I believe downgrading firmware will also require erasing your iPod, too.

Problems with You Tube Videos received in email messages

I'm having problems with You Tube when I receive as part of an email message. Sometimes I don't get sound. Also, When I click on the file or link, it takes forever to open and then it starts loading, which also takes so long. I usually give up and delete the message. Am I doing something wrong? can someone help?

Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Advanced tab.
Click Delete All under Browsing Data and Settings
Then from your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click: Remove All Website Deta
Quit and relaunch Safari to test.

Using You Tube video clips question:

After importing several clips from You Tube (of varying quality) to incorporate into an editing project, the clips look okay and play full screen, in the "source" window, but when I put them in the timeline and play them in the "program" window, they are thumbnail size. Why does this happen? I tried converting...but still no luck.

yeah, i beg to differ on this. i have 100s of videos on youtube i did back when it first started before i saved my finished projects... (from 2005-2008 i would just record, edit, post, delete, because it was just random junk of me hanging out with friends, or just v-logging about stuff i needed to blow steam about) so one of these days i'll have to go through and download them and burn them for archives. Never say never

Hi, When i visit you tube I have great difficulty typing in a subject + when i click on a tile to view the footage it does not appear in the main viewing screen!!! the bigger screen is blank as if the footage had not loaded on to it. If i hover the cursor over the tile i do see the footage BUT only in the very small thumbnail screen. However if i use microsoft's Internet explorer i have no problems what so ever, please help.

How to use You Tube clips in Final Cut Express?

I'm trying to use some You Tube clips in a Final Cut Express project - purely personal.
What I'm doing is this:
Play You Tube Video
Capture it as a Movie using ScreenSnapz Pro.
Saving it as a DV / NTSC quicktime movie - w/ 48 hz audio under Screensnapz options.
When I put it into the Final Cut Express timeline, it does not require rendering (I have loaded the DV/48hz sequence preset). But... the audio seems slower than it should be and the video is VERY much slower than it should be. The audio and video are not synched).
Other clips imported from other sources (such as video taken from a DVD using DVDxDV) is working fine.
What am I missing here?

Don't use ScreenSnapz Pro, anything you get from that is not going to be as good quality as simply downloading it directly from the source.
1. Use [MPEG Streamclip|http://www.squared5.com/|click here to download] to get the file from YouTube using its "Open URL (Cmd-U)" function.
2. Export to Quicktime (Cmd-E) using these settings:
Compression: Apple DV/DVCPRO - NTSC
Frame Size: 720x480
Frame Rate: 29.97
Quality: 100%
Sound: Uncompressed Stereo 48kHz
Use a DV-NTSC sequence within FCE.

Problems Viewing You Tube Videos

I recently purchased a Dell XPS 400. I previously had an
Inspiron 600m, which I was able to view you tube content. But, with
my new system, I get an error on their site telling me that I
either need to enable JavaScript or get the latest version of
flashplayer. I have both JavaScript enabled, and I have the latest
version of flashplayer. I've contacted Dell, and they can't resolve
the issue. Please, is their anyone who can help me? I feel like I
am going out of my mind with this issue.

Well, I was at Converse shoes site last night and it wouldn't
let me use the interactive version because It said I needed to get
the latest version of flash player. I've turned my firewall off
before, and it still doesn't work.....

Nokia asha 200 downloading problem from you tube

hi how to download videos for nokia asha 200 from you tube wheneever i tried it shows the problem in downloading.it dosent show the option of download.

I'm facing the same problem while downloading videos via fast tube or youtube downloade in my Nokia 701. The download tab is actually not coming. Is this because of any changes in youtube API? Please suggest something.

Error message when trying to use You Tube

I am able to click on you tube links but when the video begins it says An Error Occurred, try again later.

You can't do that. Instead, just remove "aaa new-model" from the config then try to deploy it. Alternatively, you can try "merge mode," but that will send the whole config back to the device.

Firefox 3.6.14 problems with you tube

Updated to .14 and all of a sudden you tube stop showing video but sound still there. Only black screen without video. My flash plug in is updated 10.2.152.32. Now I rely on the pop up to watch the video.
It works with other sites like Metacafe and also with other browsers IE. If its the video driver how come it works fine before update and still works in places like metacafe.

ISSUE RESOLVED. Photoshop CS2 was not embedding an sRGB profile in the images I was posting. I needed to check the "ICC Profile" checkbox in "save for web" to make that actually happen (after I did "convert to profile" sRGB).
I also have switched to "Full Color Management" Value
1 (hidden) in Firefox 3.6 so that Firefox now assumes any
untagged image is sRGB standard and then converts those, and all other images
which ARE tagged, to my calibrated monitor profile.
This definitely looks to me like the way to operate with a wide-gamut monitor
although I understand it is still recommended to always tag images for posting as sRGB and not embed any other profile for color consistency over
color accuracy. At least if there are some out there with wider-gamut tags, I should get some benefit.
Have I got it right now?

Problem with you tube

firefox will not play youtube videos that have ads.
can not use att.com/speedtest either

If the problem is only with Flash content that has advertising, the problem could be ad-blocking software or a Firefox extension such as AdBlock Plus. Try turning off add-blocking or disabling Firefox extensions in Tools -> Add-ons Manager - Extensions, then restart Firefox to see if that solves the problem. See also:

Uploading problem to You Tube

Everything goes well until I click on "upload selected video". I am then kicked off line with the error message of: "Safari can’t open the page “http://v217.youtube.com/myvideospost”. The error was: “POSIX error: Is a directory” (NSPOSIXErrorDomain:21)". Help...

I just hit this discussion topic looking for a solution to the problem and, it seems, that I have solved it but in such a trivial manner that this may not work for you.
I too had the 'downloading' category showing in the YouTube box. I figured that YouTube's servers just weren't getting in touch with iMovie to supply the categories list, so I quite iMovie, re-opened it (without rebooting or logging out) and tried again immediately. Presto, the 'categories' field is now populated.
So 'solving' the problem might just as simple as restarting iMovie a couple of times until YouTube supplies the data - I think.
No doubt people have already tried this...another thing to fiddle with be logging in/out of YouTube via Safari (maybe this forces a refresh within Safari; who knows).
Anyway, that's what happened to me.
