Problems Viewing Pepper Flash Under chrome://plugins

Hello all,
After an update, my flash seems to be gone.
I downloaded the chromium-pepper-flash-stable and did 'makepkg', but I still get the warning message on some sites and
the enable flash plugin option does not show under chrome://plugins

There is no 'chromium-pepper-flash-stable' in the AUR anymore.  It was renamed w/o the 'stable' part.
In any case, I think fungle may be on to something here... you may have built it, but did you actually install it?

  • Slow diff viewer using flash builder 4 plugin

We have a few mxml files of substantial size 900+ lines.
When viewing these in the compare editor its insanely slow - well over 45 seconds and gets exponentially worse the bigger the files. The same file using TortoiseSVN takes less than a second. Virtually all our developers using the eclipse plugin rather than a stand alone flash builder have this issue ranging from standard xp builds to vista OS. We all use springs STS build of eclipse v 2.3.2 (version 3.5.2 of eclipse)
Have we got something wrong which is causing this?

    Hi,
I'd like to confirm what workflow you are using. Are you doing a right click on the file-> compare with -> local history. and then choosing a file from recent history to check the diff?
Does this problem occur only on plugin or even on standalone?
    EDIT:
I was able to reproduce this issue on my FB standalone. I filed a bug.

  • Problems viewing embedded flash videos

About 2 weeks ago I had the error message while on Youtube that I needed to update my flash software. I did so and since then I can't see any videos that are embedded on websites. I can see them if I click on the direct link only and it pops up the youtube page, otherwise all I can see is an icon. Is there a way to go back to my older version of flash? I just checked IE manage add ons and it says that I have 9.0.28.0 still enabled, but when I go to the Adobe page that detects what version I am using it says I have the latest version 10.something. I am running I.E. 8 (which I dislike) is it possible to go back to I.E. 7 and avoid all this mess? If so how? I haven't run the latest Windows updates, btw. I do have Google Toolbar which I love. Please don't tell me to get rid of it because it was a pain finding it and installing it after I updated to I.E.8 and it threw it out.
Any help would be appreciated as I need to be able to view embedded videos.

Hi SF, I think at this point you will need to Uninstall and Install the new version of FP 10.0.42.34. The Shockwave Flash
Object Flash10c.ocx did not get installed in manage add ons, even tho you installed FP 10.0.32.18.
Here is the link for the Uninstaller that you will after you click on the "Windows version" SAVE to your desktop:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
Here is the link for the Installer that you will run immediately after Uninstalling:http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
This will NOT be saved to your desktop.
(I had an internet outage this morning or I would have posted this sooner)
Follow the instructions completely for the Uninstall and be sure to Reboot TWICE to clear out all old versions. After the Install, Reboot Once.
After you are finished go here to test:   http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/155/tn_15507.html
Then test your websites to see if everything is working as it should and post back.
    Thanks

  • Problems viewing my Flash file remotely

    Hello
I am in need of someone who can tell me where I am going wrong.
I create a movie on imovie. I take it to Flash(CS3) and publish it as an swf file
I then install that file in Dreamweaver.
All is good I save and preview it locally. the file's root folder is images and same remotely
I upload all including the HTML page and when I view the page, the place where the file is is blank.
I have uploaded this many times and it just wont work.
I have never been lucky with these types of files so I know I'm doing something wrong.
    Your help is very appreciated.
    thank You
    Rob

Sorry still not sure what you mean about a link. I have followed all the advise I could find on youtube and otherplaces about creating a flash file Flash CS3, inserting it on Dreamweaver CS3 and I up load it to my host/server as I have done to every other html, jpeg, bitmap or file  successfully before.  last night I created a swf of the slideshow I want to have in my index page using Dreamweavers 'sldeshow' feature thinking that this one cannot go wrong and I can preview it on Safari and Firefox at home but when I upload once again all the files that make up that sldeshow(just to make sure) it wont play on my site.
Could my serve/host have anything to do? That is the only think that I never considered because I have certainly checked and re-checked every aspect of this...
Anyway, once again, i thank you for your time.
    very Frustrated!

  • Problem viewing AVI files with quicktime plugin

I have quicktime 7.6 and perian installed
When I try to stream an AVI file I can hear sound but no video is displayed
If I download the file and I then play it with quicktime everything is fine
If I remove perian then I will be able to stream from the website but of course unable to play MKV, Divx and Xvid files
I have removed all obsolete codecs and I am running out of ideas on what is wrong with the system

In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them).
However it should be noted that Perian is not an internet plugin and will not play DivX files imbedded on a website. For that you will need the DivX Player browser plugin available from
    http://www.divx.com/divx/mac/

Simple. I don't use Flash at all, and I didn't realize that by flash you were refering to the Flash software.

  • [SOLVED] Both stable and unstable chromium-pepper-flash won't install

    Hi all,
I just installed Chromium, but am unable to install Flash. It was recommended that I install pepper-flash rather than flashplugin, since the latter is deprecated. But there is a problem:
chromium-pepper-flash-stable won't install because the link to the package is invalid:
    ERROR: Failure while downloading google-chrome-stable-31.0.1650.57-1.x86_64.rpm
chromium-pepper-flash won't install because the md5 checksum is invalid:
==> Validating source files with md5sums...
    google-chrome-unstable_current_amd64.deb ... FAILED
    LICENSE.txt ... Passed
==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!
This leaves me with three questions:
Does this happen often, or is it a freak coincidence that both recommended Flash packages are broken on the first day I start using Arch?
I can probably find the proper package file for chromium-pepper-flash-stable, but what is recommended practice for installing it (if I am in a hurry, or just impatient)? Should I hack the PKGBUILD file myself?
Should I flag these packages as out-of-date in AUR?
    Thanks!

Yes, edit the PKGBUILD yourself. Both the link and the checksum.
Have a look at the comments: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/chro … mments=all Being broken is not an uncommon occurrence for this package.

  • Question about Starting Eclipse with PVCS Version Manager Plugin and Flash Builder 4 plugin

I used Eclipse 3.4.2 SR2 with PVCS Version Manager plugin.
I installed Adobe Flash Builder 4 Plugin to the Eclipse.
Eclipse executed successfully at first time.
After I open *.mxml file with the Eclipse and close.
    After minutes, I execute Eclipse.
But I waited 40 minutes to see Eclipse Editor screen.
Are there any problem in Adobe Flash Builder 4 Plugin?

    * Adobe Flash Builder 4 Plugin
위의 환경에서 Eclipse에 Version Manager Plugin을 설치하여 사용할 때는 잘 동작 하였습니다.

I experimented with the latest Zend Studio 8 trials on both platforms yesterday, and it looks a little different depending on which platform you're using:
On OS X, because Zend Studio is now contained entirely within the app bundle, it's tricky navigating to the proper eclipse folder with our Plug-in Utility. As it turns out, the Zend dropins folder does exist if you look down low enough:
    /Applications/Zend Studio.app/Contents/Resources/Java/dropins
When I typed that path into the Burrito Plug-in Utility manually, it found the dropins folder, and proceeded to install the link without complaint. However, the Zend dropins folder is not working properly on OS X either, as already found on Win, so it's not using the link.
On Win, Zend Studio 8 doesn't include the dropins folder in the first place, as noted earlier. Apparently, Zend doesn't have its dropins folder enabled on either Mac or Win.
To see if this problem is specific to dropin links, I downloaded the latest Orbit plugins from eclipse.org and tried adding those directly to the Zend dropins folder, instead of using a link. Zend doesn’t appear to recognize them either.
I'll check with our contact at Zend to see what happened.

pixelation problems occurs in my videos when using adobe flash but using chromes pepper flash no problemes so its definitely adobe problems on my WIndows 8.1

    Problem is:
Flash Player for IE11 (which is the worst browser ever developed - BAR NONE) is a Microsoft product, when it comes right down to it.
Adobe writes the base code and yes, they do collaborate on updates for it, but the gang in Redmond alter the plug-in and add "proprietary" code before embedding it, and at that point it's "their baby".
There are two (2) registry keys - 1 for 32 bit IE and the other for 64 bit IE, as well as a KB patch that prevent all but the most experienced Windows users from ever touching the Flash Player plug-in for IE. So there's NO WAY you could have done a clean install of the ActiveX plug-in in Windows 8. Unless you're an uber-geek, you can only update it through Windows Update.
WIn 8 is an abomination and IE11 made it worse. IE has always been the "problem child" of browsers, failing to handle CSS, Javascript, some PHP and most design "tweaks" that good webmasters can use with other browsers, trouble free.
I have IE8 on XP, 9 on VIsta, 11 on 7, 10 on 8 and 11 on 8.1... but they're all for testing only. I'd have to be out of my mind to ever think of using IE as my primary browser. ActiveX controls have to be disabled formost stuff and that opens millions of security holes in IE.
You've got a good video card and a decent sound card. It's a shame to waste them on a pile of garbage like IE, just because it came with Windows.

  • Possible legal case issue with google chrome pepper flash player.

Ok so i have been on the phone to adobe for about an hour and this is the result.
As far as adobe are concerned their flash player works fine which it does.
However the google chrome Pepper flash player is obviously broken.
Now adobe say this has nothing to do with them their flash player is fine and googles version of adobe flash player has nothing to do with ADOBE either.
So why when you go into chrome plugin settings it says ADOBE flash player.
It doesn't say Google Flash player.
    It says ADOBE Flash player.
So it seem to me that either google have stolen the Adobe flash player then made their own and broke it. OR Adobe let them make their own version and is fully aware of the issue but doesn't care?
How can Adobe ignore this issue for so long is disgraceful.
Adobe should be in contact with google saying what have you done to OUR Flash player.
Please the CEO of adobe should sort this out OR at least provide evidence that google hasn't stole Adobe flash player and broke it.
This situation is completely unacceptable and i belive a legal case should be opened if Adobe has NOT given permission for google to use and implement a version of ADOBE's Flash player.

your not going to like this, but i would of said the exact same thing myself, im a flash developer, i use chrome as my main browser with pepper running for general use. and from day to day im looking at javascript websites with simple little flash video players and adverts with spinning bitmaps, with no issues apart from the usual crashes when running flash videos, followed by that "oh snap" error message, which im sure the 18 year olds developing chrome find very ammusing. And of course when im developing flash applications im using the debugger version of the flash player in all my browsers like you should do, then i come to test my app on a pepper enabled instance of chrome one day and oh look at that nothing works. maybe if your running some basic timeline animation of a spinning dollar sign or a youtube video with some kids jumping off a roof it works, but a hell of alot is broken, loaders, loading fonts, uploading files, reloading cached files, and a plethora of things iv read in forums that i cant even get to try because i cant get anything to load consistently or find a debugger version of the pepper player to do a getStackTrace. i tried emptying all the caches and data from hosted apps, i tried deleting preference folders, tried recreating flash projects in flash builder from scratch, tried different versions of windows, tried testing it in the chrome beta, but that's even worse because instead of posting an error message it just hangs on a black screen in my app. none of this happens in any other version of the flash player i have tested so far, im tracking all errors that users of my app run into by logging them to a database and all of them are specific to pepper, and reproducable. In chromes bug reporting section there's a long list of these kinds of issues, its been like this for months, peoples businesses are being ruined by this stupid tiny little .dll file and the only solution anyone has found, other than the odd hack that fixes some bugs like setting video resolution to 479 instead of 480 to make a video stream play because google didnt bother to test anything other then the most basic default functions... Is to just throw a warning message to people with pepper player to go into their chrome plugins page, press a tiny little button in the corner to show some complicated dll file information, press another tiny disable button under the not very well marked pepflashplayer.dll, and then select always allow at the bottom so you don't have to deal with chrome blocking any working flash player other than pepper from running because its out of date. which in the end probably takes longer than installing the real flash player in the first place, there is literally no need for this damn dll file to even exist and for some mind blowing reason it has the exact same version number as every other flash player i have tried, which all work flawlessly. and also then obviously most people ignore the warning messages, continue to use your app wonder why its crashing, get frustrated and leave... So my only alternative so far is to totally block anyone using pepper player from even being able to load my app and tell them to do all of the above or use Internet explorer which seems to actually have a working built in flash player. so that instantly cuts out, as ofFebruary 2013, 50.0 % of Internet users unless they boot up internet explorer then manually navigate back to my webpage. which can make a huge dent to the amount of people who actually bother to even try your app.
Now you may be saying to yourself "well he sounds a bit miffed about this pepper player that for me seems to work fine". maybe there's some kind of hack way to get swfs running in pepper that only some of you in the know, know about, google doesn't have any answers, when i rang adobe they were utterly clueless, when i rang google there wasn't even a human being to talk to from that faceless corporate monstrosity. and iv got 4 years worth of development time riding on this damn flash app which, unless adobe pull the plug on pepper, or google learn how to bundle other peoples software. is totally useless just as im trying to deploy it, and im going to have to copy and paste the whole lot into some .js files and try to reverse engineer it all into javascript which means gutting all the stuff that you can only do in flash, which is about half of it. now obviously you start asking questions like, how could it be possible that a version of flash this flea-ridden was ever allowed to be let out into the jungle when sooooo much is at risk for certain types of businesses that rely on this technology. you could literally put people out of a job by doing this, the man on the phone from adobe says well its not our problem its googles version and they are in charge of it, well if that's the case you better pull the licensing quick fast because it makes adobe look bad and the the flash brand look even worse. normal chrome users who arn't even trying to peddle their wares made in flash are even complaining that its "poisoning" their beloved chromium, and the most they have to suffer with is a buggy experience in a flash game but those of us with serious time and work invested into flash and businesses based on it are utterly fuming.
Now, either you think this is all nonsense, you see no evidence, i must be doing something wrong, and all these cases im reading are just my imagination. Or you are fully aware of this situation and you are just saying the thing devs including myself always have to say to our users when we don't have a good answer or time to worry about it "Everything works great on my system, just submit a bug report". or you are so disconnected that you simply don't know about it yet and this is just a total waste of my time and anybody worth talking to his hidden deep in the bowels of adobe barred from communicating with the outside world.
What i want to hear is that indeed you are fully aware of and informed about these issues, and within 1 month the pepper player will be removed from chrome and users will be allowed to use the official flash player from adobe which will remain stable and fully functional.

  • Pepper flash not loading in chrome

I have exhausted my google-fu on this issue, which I also had in other Linux distros. The issue is that pepper flash doesn't show up in the list of plugins in chrome://plugins at all, no errors when chrome is started from a terminal, and no indication that anyone else seems affected by the problem based on poring over the search results for a stupid amount of time.
My system is old. It's a Compaq based on an Asus A7VBX-LA motherboard. I have an Nvidia Riva TNT2 graphics card. System memory is 512MB.
I really hate flash in any form. I installed gnash a while back just so my daughter could watch youtube videos, but now she wants to be able to use sites like Hulu and no combination of gnash or adobe flash with any browser seems to work, so I thought I'd try chrome with pepper-flash. This same thing happened in Debian Jesse with this hardware. My best guess right now is that the software is laughing at my hardware, but I wish it would do it to my face an at least print a message to the terminal that my hardware isn't capable of using the plugin.

I don't think it's your hardware. I'm having the same problem with an Asus EEE 1005 (netbook). I have the updated version of Chromium (30.1) and the chromium-pepper-stable installed (and I confirmed that the so file is there). But Chromium doesn't see the plugin. It sees the Adobe Flash plugin, which I've disabled (but use with Firefox-Nightly, so I don't want to uninstall it).
The Wiki says simply disable one and enable the other. It offers the possibility of installing Iron (a Chrome clone) and running it from the command line in order to invoke Pepper Flash, but it seems not to imagine that the plugin won't be visible in Chromium.
I'd keep working on this if I had any ideas, but I don't. I'll just hope that updated versions of the plugin and Chromium work at some point.

  • Trouble installing pepper flash plugin for Chromium

Hello. I've been trying to install the pepper flash plugin for Chromium via the Chromium Plugins package in the AUR here: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/chro … per-flash/ . I successfully extracted the tarball, built the package and installed it using pacman. After restarting Chromium, however, the only new plugin I see is the Chrome PDF viewer; no pepper-flash plugin is visable. I thought about maybe installing the flash player that you can download from Adobe's website but I don't know if that would interfere with the plugin I should have already installed. Any advice on how to get this plugin to work in Chromium would be great. Thanks.

I have pepperflash installed on my chromium and it identifies itself as
Adobe Flash Player - Version: 13.0.0.214
    Shockwave Flash 13.0 r0
    Name: Shockwave Flash
    Description: Shockwave Flash 13.0 r0
    Version: 13.0.0.214
    Location: /usr/lib/PepperFlash/libpepflashplayer.so
    Type: PPAPI (out-of-process)
This is in about:plugins url and is not an up-to-date version, but it works. I'll try updating to the newest version and see if it breaks things

    1)  Quicken 2007 for Intel (Snow Leopard, Lion, Mt. Lion and Mavericks) is a full featured app that can be downloaded from Intuit for $15 and will work with your data file if you are using Quicken 2005, 2006 or 2007 (if you version is earlier, let me know for more instructions on easy conversion):
    http://quicken.intuit.com/personal-finance-software/quicken-2007-osx-lion.jsp
    2) Partition your hard drive, or add an external hard drive and install Mavericks there and "dual-boot" to operate your music programs in Snow Leopard and experiment with them in Mavericks.
DO NOT install Mavericks over Snow Leopard!
