Problems Viewing Webhelp in IE8 via HTTPS

I generated Webhelp output using RoboHelp 8.0.2.
The Webhelp output displays OK in IE8 via HTTP.
However, when I open the Webhelp ouptut in IE8 via HTTPS, the Contents, Index, and Glossary panes are all blank.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Can you tell us how did you publish it to HTTPS?
and does you HTTPS  based URL, ask for authentication too?
Have you tried a different Browser?
Could please elaborate your workflow, so that we have a better idea.
Thanks!

  • RH8 WebHelp TOC won't render in IE8 via HTTPS - Fix/workaround?

    WebHelp projects generated with RH8 render perfectly via either HTTP or HTTPS calls to the server-hosted project in Firefox and Chrome.
    The same projects render perfectly via HTTP calls in IE8.
    But if the call to the project is via HTTPS, only the right pane content renders successfully. The left frame displays the Contents/Search tab in the project, but not the actual TOC content.
    Does RH8 simply not support calling a WebHelp output through an HTTPS connection to IE8? Why does IE8 refuse to render the TOC through HTTPS, but it will render through HTTP just fine?
    Does RH9 address this issue or is there a service pack for RH8 that addresses this issue.

    we are also experiencing the same issue.  we even upgraded to RoboHelp 9 and it didn't fix the problem.
    Below are project settings:
    RoboHelp Html v9.0.1.232
    WebHelp project -> Generate
    Content -> Language > English (US)
    Encoding: Unicode (UTF-8)
    Map Files: None selected
    Navigation Tab -> Skin = Traditional Style - no skin
    Preferred Format = DHTML > Pure HTML
    Toolbar Buttons > TOC, Search
    Synchronize Table of Contents Automatically
    Results:
    Left TOC Contents does not show up
    Left Search does not work
    One other note:  It works on some XP ie8 machines and others it does not work.  FYI
    Please advise.

  • Problem with loading an image via HTTP

    Hallo,
    When using the JBCL TransparentImage control i can load images
    from my local HD. But when i use setImageURL it won't work. I
    looked at the sources and it seems to me that the problem lies
    within the default toolkit. The following code works when using
    a local file. Via HTTP the Observer get's one notification with
    just the error-flag set.
    URL url=new URL("http://localhost/mxtj_inetmaps/mp_map1.gif");
    // String sFileName="c:\\mapinfo\\inetmap\\mp_map1.gif";
    Toolkit tk=Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit();
    Image i=tk.getImage(url);
    // Image i=tk.getImage(sFileName);
    MyObserver mo=new MyObserver();
    tk.prepareImage(i, -1, -1, mo);
    Could someone help me, how to show a Web-Image within a control ?
    Bye Heiko.

    Hi,
    There is no getImage that accepts the parameters in the order in which you have given them. Try this:
    getImage( getCodeBase(), "flower.gif" );

  • Problem viewing albums on AppleTV via MobileMe/Aperture

    Hopefully this forum will work for me...
    Anyone else having issues with Aperture images published to MobileMe that don't show up on AppleTV? Or at least gives you trouble on AppleTV?
    First of all the MobileMe albums don't show up UNLESS I publish an image via iPhoto. It's like iPhoto "pushes" the Aperture images through. When I publish one photo via iPhoto, my Aperture/MobileMe albums show up. Un-publish the iPhoto image and the Aperture albums disappear from AppleTV.
    THEN..... when I get the Aperture/MobileMe albums to show up (because I published one from iPhoto), AppleTV won't allow me to view them because it keeps telling me the login-in formation is incorrect--but it's not. I have the albums protected and locked on MobileMe and that's why I have to enter it on AppleTV. Whatever, I cannot view my MobileMe albums on AppleTV at all, no matter what I do. I will also post to the other forums, but I wanted to see if anyone here is familiar with this issue.
    I hope this makes sense. Any help, anyone?

    Only publicly available albums are shown on the AppleTV with any Mobileme account you add to it. If you don't have any publicly available, you won't even be able to add the account. That's why it's telling you the login information is incorrect. Apple should change the error message to be more accurate but it doesn't matter because you wouldn't be able to see anything anyway.

  • Problem downloading a file via http

    Hi
    I'm just getting started with WLS (sp5) and am having a problem downloading
    a file via http. The document is stored in the main html docs directory and
    whenever I link to it or try to download it directly (eg:
    http://<host>:<port>/myfile.doc) I get the following error in a message box:
    Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I grant permissions
    to do this - I've tried using the weblogic.security.URLAclFile and adding
    the directory as a weblogic.io.fileSystem (a desperation move, I know).
    Thanks in advance,
    Peter Villiers

    PLEASE IGNORE THIS POST
    The problem was caused by someone (me though I honestly don't remember doing
    it), setting the content security level to high in my web browser which
    stopped this type of download.

  • Problem viewing Japanese characters in Excel sent via Email attachment

    Hi All
    I am using FM '''SO_DOCUMENT_SEND_API1'' to send out an e-mail attachment (Excel file). I am able to receive the Excel file successfully. However I am not able to display the Japanese characters properly in my Excel file.
    I tried to display some Japanese characters in my e-mail contents and I have no problem viewing these characters in my e-mail (I am using MS Outlook 2003). These statements becomes something illegible when I transfer it over to Excel as an attachment. In my Internal Table, these characters are displayed correctly as well.
    Anyone has any advice to solve this issue?
    Thanks for your replies.

    Hi Divya,
    refer to the link below:
    http://www.sapdevelopment.co.uk/reporting/email/attach_xls.htm
    The code in this demonstrates how to send an email to an external email addresswhere the data is stored within a .xls attachment.
    Hope this helps.

    hello,
    i have big network of cisco switches and all is in my cisco network assistant in comunity connected via HTTPS. if i add new switch to network (all for HTTPS access is configured good: domain name, ip http secure-server, authenticate locale ...) and if i can add this switch to comunity (right click on icon and ADD TO COMUNITY), CNA say "Unable to Connect", because it can connect to switch via HTTP (i have disable it on switch), not via HTTPS. i have never version of CNA ... where is problem? why it not connect to switch via HTTPS? hmmm? thank you ... You can put an access-list on the http server if you are concerned about security exposure.

  • OSB call to remote Web Service via https proxy and https CONNECT problem

    Hi
    I have a service that calls a web service on another server as a web service. This call is via https and the certificate validation raises no errors.
    I now want this call to go via a squid httpd proxy on port 3128 on some machine. So I would like to use HTTP CONNECT (RFC 2817) proxying,. But when I set up this as a proxy, I am getting "Certificate chain" error messages. The certifcate chains is no different now from when I called without the http proxy, so what am I doing wrong? Does OSB support HTTP CONNECT?
    -Johan

    The exeption we are getting is BEA-380000
    General runtime error: [Security:090477]Certificate chain received from XXX - 123.123.123.123 --> test.salesforce.com was not trusted causing SSL handshake failure.
    This is of course not relevant if the callout were using CONNECT. In the CONNECT scenario, OSB would not care about XXX's certificate.

  • Submitting a PDF form via HTTP Post: Beginner's Questions

    Hi,
    I am completely new to PDF forms, so I have been finding the documentation and options overwhelming.
    I am hoping to get pointed to the documentation/tutorials/examples I really need.
    I would like to build a "proof of concept" for my boss.  I would like to include a screen in our Java ( JSP & Spring ) webapp where either a PDF form is embedded or is accessed via a link.
    I have
    Adobe Acrobat Distiller X standard license
    Adobe Acrobat X Standard
    Microsoft Office 2010
    I made a small, 3 field Microsoft Word form.  I then converted it via DIstiller into a PDF form.
    I then found this document about how to submit a PDF form to a server side component:
    http://acrobatusers.com/tutorials/form-submit-e-mail-demystified
    My big problem with this document it doesn't have an example nor an example showing what is going on in a full HTML page.   As I result I have some questions:
    Can I see such an example somewhere?
    Does the call to the javascript function doc.SubmitForm(urlToMyServerSideComponent) go in a script tag on the HTML page like other javascripts?
    Can I execute that submit function from an HTML button or do I need to put a "submit" button on the PDF form?
    Do I need Adobe LiveCycle in order to create a PDF form with a "submit" button?  Free versions?
    Can I send via HTTP POST ?
    Do I need Adobe LiveCycle to crate a PDF form with a digital signature?
    Is there a document/tutorial that fits where I am starting off from? ( Please no books, I am tyring to show my boss that this is something that can be done, in a reasonable amount of time, not time to get and go through a book ).
    Thanks in advance for any tips that get me pointed in the right direction
    Steve

    To answer some of your specific questions:
    2, 3. The submit form button needs to be on the PDF. You can either configure a Submit Form action or use the submitForm JavaScript method.
    4, 6: No to both questions. You can create the form in Acrobat. Such forms are knows as Acroforms, as opposed to XFA forms that are created with LiveCycle Designer. Acroforms have wider support.
    5: Yes, that's the method that's used when submitting to a web server. You have your choice of formats. The "HTML Form" option causes the form data to be submitted in the same format as an HTML form, so the same type of server-side code can be used to process the data. As Dave's tutorial shows, the server should return an FDF as the response, however, as opposed to HTML content.
    It's a mistake to try to embed the PDF in a web page. So much depends on the user's browser, PDF viewer, and how both are configured. PDF forms can be submitted directly from Adobe Reader/Acrobat, so it's not necessary for them to be viewed in a browser. Note that Adobe Reader for iOS/Android don't yet support submitting to a web server (apart from FormsCentral), but that's is supposedly being worked on.
    Since you mentioned digital signatures, be aware that for Reader users to be able to sign, the document has to be Reader-enabled, either with Acrobat Pro or LiveCycle Reader Extensions (which is not the same as LiveCycle Designer). Digital signatures in PDF forms are not yet supported on mobile devices. Also, you will want to submit the entire PDF, as opposed to just the form data, when submitting a digitally signed form.

  • Wrt160nl Management via HTTPS

    Hi ,
    I have an issue with new Win8 & IE10.
    When I try to access web management interface of my wrt160nl (Firmware Version: 1.00.01 B15) via HTTPS I'm receiving the foolowing message:
    "Continue to this website (not recommended)."
    If I click on it another error page appears:
    "Certification error: Navigation blocked.
    There is a problem with this website's security certificate"
    At the same time I'm able to acccess the management interface via HTTPS, but from my laptop with Win7 & IE9. There if I click on the red Certificate Error > View certificate and the certificate information is:
    Issued by: Linksys
    Issued to: Linksys
    Valid from : 1.1.2009 to 1.1.2010
     So I'd like to know if I could update the router certificate or what settings should I use in IE10 in order to access the web management interface via HTTPS?
    BR,
    Krass

    You can try these steps. I found a workaround that might help you with the issue you are having since users who tried it reported that it worked for them.
    Try viewing https://192.168.1.1 in Compatibility View.
    Note: Not all website display problems are caused by browser incompatibility. Interrupted Internet connections, heavy traffic, or problems with the website can also affect how a webpage is displayed.
    Open IE.
    Press ALT+T keys, to launch “Tools” drop down menu.
    In the “Tools” menu, select “Compatibility View Settings” option.
    In the “Compatibility View” window, add the name of the site (with which you are facing the issue) and then check.

  • Viewing complete xml messages via db query

    Hi
    Is it possible to view the complete xml message in bpel 11g via a db query which we see from em console opening a instance every time ?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Neeraj

    Hi,
    im familiar with that post and looked it through before posting here. Seems like Nordebrink had problems when sending too many DX_REQUEST xml tags. WE on the otherhand are sending none at all.
    as you can see from the logs i posted the xml-string sent to sap me via http is this:
    sun.net.www.protocol.http.HttpURLConnection:http://172.17.120.220:50000/manufacturing-xml/com/sap/me/integration/xchange/client/ProductionInterface.jsp?site=TEST3&login=XML&password=password?message=<PRODUCTION_REQUEST><PARAMETRIC><SITE>TEST3</SITE><SFC>EE110614146641</SFC><TYPE>MANUAL</TYPE><RESOURCE>AOI001</RESOURCE><PROGRAM_ID>6374-TOPPOWER</PROGRAM_ID><PROGRAM_REV>1</PROGRAM_REV><USER>XML</USER><TEST_STATUS>pass</TEST_STATUS></PARAMETRIC></PRODUCTION_REQUEST>
    now, this string works without authentication in the admin-xml interface, but not via http in a browser.
    so your suggestion is to create a ticket for this?

  • Error while loading the runtime repository via HTTP

    Hi Experts,
    I am trying to delete an enhancement and when I enter the component name and the enhancement set in BSP_WD_CMPWB. I get the following error when right click the enhanced view and select delete : Error while loading the runtime repository via HTTP. How do I delete this enhancement?
    Regards
    Abdullah Ismail.

    if for some reason the runtime repository is not coherent, you get an error each time you try to read it (and this is the case when you open a component using the transaction BSP_WD_CMPWB)
    this is because the XML file is interpreted by a CALL TRANSFORMATION statement, and any incorrect node will raise an uncaught exception
    solution:
    enhanced view is contained into BSP application you have created the first time you enhanced the component
    go to SE80 and enter the BSP application where your objects are stored (the name you provided the first time)
    there you can modify directly the objects, including the runtime repository which is stored under node "Pages with flow Logic"
    once the correction is done, you can access again your component through transaction BSP_WD_CMPWB (and delete it properly if this is what you want to do)
