Problems w new MacBook Air syncing itunes w iPhone??

I have a brand new MBAir and trying to sync some new music that was not bought on iTunes.  (Bought on gumroad.com)   Not sure if this is causing my issue.
The song downloaded fine to my computer straight into iTunes.  It plays perfectly well on computer, but will not sync to my iPhone.
Why is this happening??!!!
Also, not sure if this is related, but I also keep getting the below message- even though I have authorized the new computer!
"This computer is no longer authorized to play purchaed items that are on the iPhone "my iPhone".
Would you like to authorize the computer for items purchased from the iTunes store?"
Help!  I've authorized the MBAir repeatedly, but the same message keeps coming up.
Thanks to anyone who can help!

    Hello KM47,
It soundsl ike you are needing to copy your iTunes purchases to your computer rather than sync it at this point. You can use the following article to transfer your purchases with the following article:

  • HT4913 Trying to add new macbook air to itunes match. process starts but never succeeds. works for a while then give error  about itunes server.

Trying to add my new Macbook Air to iTunes match. Process starts but goes nowhere. After some time I get error about iTunes server losing connection. Help! I want to access all my music.

Hi Rob- I'm guessing it has something to do with all the update stuff Apple keeps doing (with Yosemite, etc.,) extremely frustrating - also whenever I load up iTunes on any of my devices- I am asked to enter my passcode- which I will do- then I am asked to do it 2 or 3 more times - right after the other- crazy how annoying something like that can be- I have looked online for solutions- i.e. close out of the account, reset the passcode- all of it- nothing seems to fix that situation either-  what I have discovered (playing around) is on my iPhone 6+ if I go to settings and turn OFF iTunes match- then turn it back ON- suddenly all the music that wasn't loaded shows up magically- but I had to do that each time I'd update songs in my playlist on the iMac- then go to the iPhone and turn off the match- then turn it back on- almost like it is resetting things-

  • Wifi problems with new MacBook Air?

I have just bought a new MacBook Air.
For some reason the Air cannot find one of my WiFi networks called XF11. Its not a problem with the router being too far away because thats in my bedroom where I use the Air. The strange thing is my iPhone, my brothers iPad and my old MacBook find the network straightaway.
On a few occasions over the last couple of days  when I have looked at the list of networks available it has briefly shown up but has then disappeared?
Any help would be most appreciated, its very frustrating!
    Cheers!

  • Can't get new macbook air to connect to iPhone 3gs personal hotspot

I set up Personal Hotspot to connect my old MacBook Air to my ATT iPhone 3GS with no problem. (The 3GS connects via Bluetooth.)
Then I updated to the new MacBook Air, and now I'm out of luck. The phone and the MBA complete Bluetooth pairing, but that's as far as it goes--they can't connect beyond that. The iPhone never appears under the Bluetooth icon in the MBA's menu bar. Restarting does not cure it. If I touch "MacBook Air" under Bluetooth settings in the iPhone, I tries to connect but then asks me to make sure the MBA is within range. (It's a foot away.)
    Anybody?
    Thanks!

I had the weirdest thing happen. I've seen that link for the Bluetooth troubleshooting all over the forums, but could not for the life of me get my iPhone 3GS to share its Internet connection with my 2011 MBA. USB worked great, but no love for Bluetooth.
Deleted the pairing 5, 6 times, rebooted both phone and MBA several times, even deleted the Bluetooth preferences files.
In desperation, I tried pairing the phone with my 2006 iMac, and was able to get an Internet connection going. And lo and behold, the MBA pairing started to work too.
Sorry, I have no solution here, since I don't actually know what I did to make it work (if anything!) but that's what happened for me.

  • New MacBook Air syncing

Tried syncing my iPhone to iTunes through my new Air, it disconnected from iTunes 4 times, the battery was low on the Air so would that be why???

My apologies. I thought it was a sync over WiFi. It should not disappear from iTunes while syncing via USB cable unless you are installing a new version of iOS on the phone. Do you know that while the iPhone is plugged into the MBA it is charging over USB. That means the MBA is powering itself and charging the iPhone battery at the same time. You should plug in the MBA for that.
Did the iphone make it's "i'm connected' sound in the middle of syncing. If so, it oculd be a fauly cable or connector. Try the other USB port on the Air, or a different iPhone sync cable.
    Isolation at this point.

  • Lots of Problems with New MacBook Air

I just got my MacBook Air and when I type any number on the keyboard it will type as if I am pressing the shift key and in Safari if I click something it will be added to my bookmarks bar and it doesnt recognize the camera, which is the internal one. Please help!

    A few things to note...
If you had contacted Apple about each of the issues that you reported here, they would  have kept a log of the problems that would help them determine whether to continue support after the warranty expires.
You might consider asking about "Flat Rate Repair Pricing." See the discussion thread here and note that some users report that the flat rate repair pricing is only available in the U.S. and Japan.

(typically they just ship your computer to Singapore instead of working on it "in-house" from what I read).
Actually, I had great  experiences with two different macs sent to the repair depot. One computer had narcolepsy on day one. Apple sent me a box, I packed up the PB and dropped it off at UPS. Apple fixed and returned to my house two days later. The second MBP had a known video card problem. I took it to an Apple Store Genius who ran a specifc test and deduct that it was the known defective video card. The store was out of parts and ordering would take a week. Knowing my past experience with the Repair Depot, I ask for that option. The genius took my MBP and shipped it to the depot that night. Three days later, I received the fixed MBP and on the work order, their tests showed failed fans that they also replaced. Three or four weeks later, the Apple Store called to tell me they got the video card in stock.
Gather up your grit, perseverance, and persistence before contacting Apple. Try bypassing phone support by contacting them via their online support system with the link I provided in the previous post. (I remember using the online support system and was able to choose to have them call me. At the time, I had AppleCare so i'm not certain with out-of-warranty.) Another option is to seek an authorized Apple service provider.
    Good Luck!

  • Please Help! Should I buy a New MacBook Air (mid 2013) or iPhone 5S?

    Hey, guys!!
I really really need your help!
I'm in a bit of a tough situation here. I'm batteling between getting an iPhone 5S (I have an iPhone 4 so I'm waaaaay overdue for an upgrade) which I already saved up enough money for or saving up for a little longer, selling my iPad 3 and getting a MBA i5, 8Gb RAM and 256GB SSD.
Okay, the thing is, I'm a university student (so pretty much just web browsing, watching movies, wrighting papers and making presentations) and I have a MBP (and old one from about 2011) with 4Gb of RAM, which is ridiculous for a MBP, and 750Gb HDD and an iPad 3.
I did all the stuff on my MBP at home and then would take an iPad to classes to type lectures and such. But it really bothers me how few stuff I can do on an iPad if I happen to have a little break. I would've done a lot more with a laptop! But, obviously, I can't carry my laptop with me everyday cause I'm a petit girl and it's soooo **** heavy!!
So I was thinking about selling both the MBP and iPad and getting a new MBA (full loaded with i7, 8Gb and 512 SSD) but...than I accidently spilled a GIANT cup of tea right on my MBP. The battery is now completely dead and I think one of the fans might be also. And it was working suckishly at first (no surprise there) so I was all about getting a new laptop. Now that I wasn't going to sell the MBP (really, who would buy it?) I backed down on my criteria for MBA to i5, 8Gb RAM and 256GB SSD.
But today I turned on my computer and it's completely fine. Working pretty much as it was before (I haven't tried watching movies though).
So now I'm in doubts on weather I should still get a MBA or just suck it up with the iPad for classes and get a new phone.
    What do you think??
I'm in a terrible need for an advice!

Thats what often happens, seen it often.  Youre in the 'dry' phase now.
next comes the corrosion phase Im afraid.
notebook is wet .....doesnt work...people get upset and depressed.
it gets dry (mostly).....works good or great.....people get happy and hopeful
corrosion sets in and its all downhill.........
You need to bring it in to an Apple shop for evaluation, however you can wait for it to fail shortly.
whatever you do, backup your data ASAP.

  • IPhone does not connect to new Macbook Air 2013

    Greating from Brazil,
I have an iPhone 4 and have always used to the USB cable to connect it to my macs. It works perfectly fine in onther 4 macbooks: one macbook white 2007, one macbook pro 2010 and a macbook air 2012.
Now I have the brand new macbook air 2013 and the iPhone is the only USB device I can not connect to it (all my external hard drives, wireless headphone work just fine). What happens is that when I connect the iPhone, it repeatly plays the sound as if it was connected, then it plays the sound as if it was disconnected.
What could I do to make it work?
    Thanks

  • I can't sync my iPad 3 with iTunes using the new Macbook Air

When I connect my iPad 3 with its original cable to my new MacBook Air, the charge symbol in the iPad starts to blink and the iTunes keeps connecting and disconnecting the iPad (more than one time per second).
I can sync my old iPhone 3GS with the new Macbook Air and I can sync both iPhone and iPad with my old 2009 MacBook.
I found similar questions in the forum, but didn't find a solution. I can charge my iPad using the outlet, by I still need to backup and sync the iPad.
    BTW, every software is updated.

i have the same problem. I am noy able to connect the iPad3 to my new Macbook Air. It only cycles the charging icon and itunes states the phone has been disconnected.

  • HT1345 i have a new macbook air, can i now sync my iPod classic with iTunes on my new computer instead of the Dell I was synching with before?

Hi  I have just aquired a new MacBook Air and I want to stop using my old Dell laptop as my itunes synch with my ipod.  Can I now sync the Ipod with the itunes account on my new Macbook?  I am worried it will take hours to synch if I choose the erase and synch option?

Is all the content from your iTunes library on the old Dell laptop now on your MacBook air?  If you copied the entire iTunes folder and copied it over the existing iTunes folder, your iPod will still think it is being synced to the same iTunes library and there would be no need to do an erase and sync.

I just bought a new macbook air. Now i want to sync my iphone to this computer. I copied all my songs and apps to the itunes. If I sync do i loose all my contacts and notes? because i could not copy it to itunes

You need to use the backup of your PC to transfer all the music files to iTunes on the Mac.
If you have no backup then you have a difficult task ahead of you as iTunes will only allow you to sync purchased music from the iPhone back into iTunes.   Any music you loaded into iTunes yourself will not transfer from the iPhone to iTunes, this is to prevent stealing of music.  To sync iTunes purchased music from the iPhone to iTunes, connect the iPhone and open iTunes, but when asked do NOT sync the device.  then right click on the iPhone in the iTunes source list and select the 'Transfer Purchases' option, you will also find this commend in the File menu.
If you are in the US, you can use the new iTunes in the Could feature to redownload your iTunes purchased music / apps / books for free.
If you want to transfer all the content from your iPhone to you Mac then you will need to use Google to find a 3rd party piece of software that will do this for you.
