Problems watching Netflix in Yosemite's Safari
Why can't I watch Netflix movies with Yosemite's Safari?, it says my computer can't playback premium video. I have just updated my os from Mavericks where I had no problems with it.
I already solved it: Enter Netflix and go to your account, then to your profile, then to Playback settings and there, uncheck the bottom option (prefer HTML5 instead of Silverlight), you should be able to play movies again... obviously, you have to have Silverlight in your computer.
The thing I don't like about this is that Apple says HTML5 is better in order to help save battery life... I will have to wait till Apple solves this issue so we can benefit of this.

Problems watching BP live feed on Safari

I have been trying to watch the live feed from the gulf oil spill.
When I do it causes Safari to freeze up. And it leaves windows open that require some skill to close.

When I click on one of the links it immediately opens up two pages, one with a BP page, (clearly that could have a live feed window on it, but doesn't), and another with a grey page with a quicktime window attempting to load, and an unresponsive Safari in the meantime with the spinning beach ball. (Summer fun!)
When the live feed is up, after Safari is unresponsive while it loads, it will eventually play, although I will get erratic behavior like an occasionally spinning beach ball, with Safari temporarily frozen. The individual tabs cannot be closed. The only way to get out is to close both tabs by clicking the red button on the window, and immediately pressing ok to close all tabs before the beach ball starts spinning again.
I have tried opening these pages and links in Firefox and Chrome, and strangely when I click the live feed links, it automatically opens them in Safari anyway. ??? Is there a system setting somewhere where I could choose to open these kind of links in Quicktime player, (open url), instead of in my web browser, or to disable Safari as the default application to open this kind of file/command so i could try them in another browser?
FYI, I do have a couple of plugins installed, one is Perian, and another is flip4mac.HI,
If you right or control click a clear space anywhere on the page that link opens, the press Command + F on your keyboard, type in QuickTime. You won't get a response. They aren't using QT as their video format. In fact, I cant' figure out which one they are using.

I can't find anything on their site or the HTML what video format they require for this. I have Silverlight / Fliip4Mac / QT / and Flash so it's not one of those and my Java is turned on in Safari/Preferences - Security.
If it's just the video you are looking for, you can watch BP trying to seal the cap at the CNN site.

When you click on the CNN / BP video you will be asked if you want to install a video enhancement plugin.. just click yes. The video will work after that.

Audio problems watching netflix streaming videos
The audio is terrible, can hardly hear the actors. If dvd played, the sound is good. This happens every time a streaming video is played. Will external speakers help, and if so, what kind?

From the crashed part, it looks like it could be the cache that is causing the problem. If you can launch Safari (sounds like you can), before trying to browse anywhere try resetting Safari via the Safari menu > Reset Safari... (and make sure to UNCHECK the passwords option as it will delete those if you leave it enabled). -
I attempted to use netflix on my MacPro safari 10.5.8, I get a blank black screen when I attempt to watch a video, Has anyone encountered and solved this dilemma?
I also have downloaded netflix "Silverlight" I believe successfully...at least acoording to the popup at the end of the Silverlight download "You have successfully downloaded Silverlight"

I watch youtube videos from ipad2 ( safari )
today for my first time, when i run a video and i want to pause it, i touch the screen where the video is playing to reach the pause botton that is located on a bar under the video which appears when i touch the screen. Today every time i touch the screen nothing happens and i cannt pause the video nor adjusting its quality.
So plese help me fixing this problem as soon as posible.

A bit more info:
-tried using YouTube in Safari on another ipad. Worked fine.
Tried reboot (sleep + home buttons for 15 seconds). Didn't fix.
-tried logging out of my YouTube account, thinking the problem was tied to my settings. Didn't fix.
-tried uninstalling all apps I downloaded since the last time YouTube worked properly. Didn't fix.
-tried watching a video in desktop mode. Can tap video screen to bring up pause okay in that mode.
There are work arounds, but the thing I want to know is why YouTube doesn't work in Safari as of a couple of days ago, and is it indicative of another more serious problem with my ipad. -
I can watch Netflix on my ipad but on my tv it shows "an error occurred loading this content" Can you suggest a solution to my problem?
Make sure DNS is set to ISPs (settings - general - network - DNS should be set to automatic). Trey rebooting ATV, and router. Make sure all are up to date.

Problem with "Scroll to" SVG on Safari Yosemite

We have used some svgs, and "scroll to" on buttons to navigate on my website.
When we click on a button "works" from the homepage or "read more" from the page "Who am I", the "scroll to" have some lag... And the header pop directly with no transition...
Have you an idea to fix it?
(You can view on Chrome or Firefox, to see the right comportment)
PS : We haven't problem with the previous version of safari

I have an iphone 3g I tried to down load an app for netflix and it said I need to have ISO 5 but my phone has ISO 4.2.1 and when I try to update it on my computer through itunes I get message saying I have current version how or what can I do do to get an app the lets me watch netflix on my iphone 3g .Is there an sulision to my problem? I also tried another app with another name diff from netflix and I got the same message saying i need ISO 5 .Someone please help thank you

I'm putting this question in the Macbook Pro category because I'm not having this problem on a similar age Macbook Air, both of which are running Lion, so I'm wondering if its not something to do with the graphics card or something else specific to this laptop? The software suite isn't the same between the two computers, so that could also be an issue, if anyone has any ideas about what software may be interfering.
The long and short of it is that when I try to watch netflix on my 2011 Macbook Pro, I get the Silverlight blue dots that spin around in a circle in the middle of the screen, and that's it. I assumed it was a silverlight problem, so I completely uninstalled/trashed the silverlight plugin and all its associated files (having read other forums where detailed command-line instructions were given) and reinstalled, and I still have the same problem. And it occurs in 3 browsers: chrome, firefox, and safari.
And here's the real kicker -- I'm running Windows 7 in Parallels.....and when I try to watch netflix on my VM, I no longer get the blue circle....BUT the movies/shows don't play. I can scroll through the entire show and the current frame will come up, but it will not play --- the play button is depressed (ie, I can only see a pause button) but nothing happens -- it's as if theThere are several issues for sure you may be dealing with all of which may be related. I would start by saying that you experienced a "Kernel Panic" during the boot camp partition, described in article http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1392. I would advise that for the heat issue and the kernel panics in conjunction, may be a good push to get diagnostics at a retail store or apple service provider.

Can't watch Netflix on 10.4.11 (iMac G5)?
I have an older Mac (I believe it's the G5), Mac OSX version 10.4.11. I want to be able to stream Netflix from the internet, but it says I need these minimum requirements:
Mac
An Intel-based Mac with OS 10.4.11 or later
Safari 4 or higher; or Firefox 12 or higher; or the latest version of Chrome
1 GB RAM
I tried downloading Google Chrome, because I figured that might fix the problem- but after it downloaded and the window popped up for me to drag it to Applications, the chrome symbol appeared with a "no-symbol" (circle with diagonal line) over it. I couldn't open it because it said it's not supported on this system. That's the problem--Netflix streaming needs an Intel processor and your G5 processor predates Apple's use of Intel processors.

Chrome also requires an Intel Mac.
A Mac with a G-series processor cannot be retrofitted with an Intel processor for a reasnable amount of money. -
My mac mini shuts down 15 minutes into watching Netflix. Why?
After watching Netflix for 15 minutes, my Mac mini shuts off. I've tried to reboot it, log back on, but again the computer shuts off completely after another minute. I bought the Mac mini in 2008. Any idea what could be causing this problem, or how to fix it?
Check System Preferences under Energy Saver. You may have the system set to go to sleep when inactive for 15 minutes. Netflix playback isn't necessarily seen as the computer being 'active', because the keyboard and mouse are not providing any input. This may be more especially true if you are using a browser other than Safari to access Netflix.

For some time now I have been unable to view videos on netflix. I'm able to log in and select a video, however, the below screen shot displays the screen that I see instead of the video playing. I have been unsuccessful at trying to figure out a way to resolve this issue on my own. Is there anyone who can assist me?
After installing the Yosemite OS I have not been able to watch Netflix movies by using Airplay.
I found out that SAFARI is the CULPRIT.
Installation of the latest version of Silverlight does not help at all.
Use FIREFOX as the browser you will be able to watch Netflix. It works for me. -

I am unable to watch Netflix on my iMac using Safari. I get the Error Code: S7363-1266-48444350 my monitor isn't HDCP complaint. Tried Chrome but got this Malware crap I had to remove.

Enable the Develop menu in Safari's preferences, Advanced.
When using Netflix, In the Develop menu, select User Agent>Firefox - Mac.
Or, you can just install Firefox and use that for viewing Netflix. -
The Silverlight plugin crashes whenever I try and watch a video on Netflix. I'm using Vista 64-bit, and I'm running the most recent update of Silverlight. This is a persistent problem for me (i.e. I've been unable to watch Netflix in Firefox, including the most recent stable releases).
I was getting this error and tried everything. The only thing that worked was uninstalling Silverlight 4.0 and going back to 3.0, which I got from oldapps(dot)com
