Problems when I try to type in using Lion
I can't write anything because as soon as I enter a program it leaves the edit mode. The program does not accept input from the keyboard. Anyone know how to fix that in Lion?
Yesterday, I was unable to type into Pages and could not, for the life of me, figure out what this was about. While I was cogitating, a window popped up on my desktop, informing me that a new version of BetterTouchTool (a Magic Mouse app) was available for download. I installed it immediately and when I went back to Pages, I was able to type. So, in my case, a 3rd party app for the mouse was somehow responsible for my problems with Pages.

firefox freezes when I try to type after reboot of pc and is still frozen now. I am using internet exployer right now. This happens every time I reboot my pc. When I try to type I have to use task manager to close the firefox.
I use dogpile.com as my search engine and when I type in the search bar it freezes my page.

I use web-based templates for formulating replies to email queries of customers. When I click on a template, pop-up windows open for entering all non-general/specific details in the template. With the installation of the new version of Firefox, what happens is that when I try to type in the pop-up window, the cursor automatically moves to the address/location bar ! This was not the case with the old firefox. How do I prevent my cursor to move automatically to the address bar ?

By default a new window should open the cursor in the search field on the page. Resetting Firefox will get you back to the default on about:support page. -
Hello everybody, I have the following problem: my apple id was desabled for security reason and I have to reset my password to enable the account again, but when I try to do this, using the e-mail, I've never received such e-mail. When I chose to do this by the security answers, it's not work again, because does not accept my birth date. Can you please somebody help with this issue? Thanks in advance
If you have a rescue email address on your account then you've checked the inbox and spam folder on that account as well, and you've tried requesting the email again ? If you still can't find it then try contacting Support in your country and see if they can reset it for you.

When I try to install WinXP using bootcamp, the iMac will not recognize the CD after it has already read all the information and is ready to begin installation. What is the problem?
If your on 10.6.8 like you should be for security/stability updates, somewhere along the line a later Bootcamp version was issued and only supports Win 7.

When I try to type a letter, multiple letters go flying across the page
I noticed that my iMac seemed a little slow yesterday, then all of a sudden, letters started typing where I had not typed them.
I turned the computer off, not really thinking about it, and the next morning, I can't access my computer bc multiple letters appear

try to type in password. What should I do?This is not due to any kind of malware, which the tags you used indicate you're worried about. You can set your mind at ease there.
It sounds like a problem with the keyboard, if I had to guess based on what you have said. Do you have a wired keyboard or a wireless one? If it's wireless, try putting in fresh batteries. If it's wired, or if new batteries don't help, try a different keyboard. -
firefox hangs up and says it "got confused", when I try to switch from using facebook as myself to using facebook as a page I manage.
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

I downloaded an album but one of the songs is corrupted, it only plays for about 4 seconds. When I try to re-download using the iTunes Store and "Purchased", it won't give me the option to download it again. How can I get the song I PAID for!!??
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that track from your iTunes library and redownload it via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.

I am not being critical, but you seem to want Safari to behave exactly like Chrome. Every software developer has a plan. Sometimes features in one product parallel other products - sometime not. There might be some things available that would help you. Do not hold your breath, however, for suggestions from people who use these forums. Most of us use (and like) Apple products. If you wish to make suggestions for future improvements, there is a feedback area on this web site that Apple employees read/review.
Candidly, your approach would be akin to suggesting that Apple emulate the "features" in Windows (heaven forbid).
I use Safari (and have for years). I use Firefox (not a bad product) as my alternate browser.
Sorry for what appears to be a pedantic lecture. However, I think most of us adapt to different products if we really want to use them.

Whenever I try to type while using Firefox nothing appears. I am hoping that this is the answer to my browser problems but I can't type. My keyboard will appear but that is it.
Did you try to reboot the computer?
Some have reported that pressing F9+Windows one or more times has worked to fix issues with the keyboard not working.

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
Restore from your back up is the fast and best solution. If that's not possible then: What version of iphoto? How to progress from here depends on that. -
i deal with a itunes update problem when i try to update i get coneection has timed out error! i had the same problem when i had vista.. yesterday i formated my pc but i still have the same prommblem. i dont deal with such problems on direct downloads.i have this problem only with tunes. maybe my conection freezes for a sec idk
Sorry I gave this a 'this helped me' but after a long struggle I found some ticked box somewhere from some unauthorised chrome extension blaaa....... the link you gave was great, not only did it confirm all the bad things google is supposed to be up to it provided a better browser. Cheers man.
Anyone who find this; I disabled all extension in chrome. I then searched the word proxy in the settings section. A button came up, "change proxy settings" I clicked on it. Earlier it was greyed out as an extension was interefering.. It brought up a box with my own settings from my computer. Then I clicked LAN settings, then unchecked the 'Use a proxy server' button.
P.S. If you're using chrome, bail, and dowload Komodo Dragon. It's virtually identical, but you're not tracked, and you can use chrome extensions, and you can quickily transfer your chrome preferences into it. -
Alert! Couldn’t contact Spell Checker. I keep getting this message when I try to type a mail in yahoo. I get the beach ball and it slows down everything.This has been happening since yesterday. Please help if anyone else has had similar problems or has ideas to fix this. Thanks.

I am having Spell Check probs too - it underlines, but that's all. I Googled and tried 5 different places for an answer - even 'jumped the pond'....but got no answers.
i started a thread, "Spell Checker on the fritz!!", and got one good and reasonable answer...
only it didn't work. It involved a .plist file, and once you toss one and do a re-start, it's supposed to re-build itself. But, no, SpCk still 'on the fritz'. I'm going to do one more re-start, but otherwise....
May the first one on either thread that gets an answer that works - PLEASE let us all know.

Lower left of Login screen is icon for ease of access where On-Screen Keyboard can be selected. Use the mouse.
