Problems wih contacts automatically linking

I have two email accounts set up on my PB, plus Facebook, plus Twitter, plus LinkedIn. The contacts app automatically attempts to link these accounts so that when I pull up, for example, John Smith, I get all of his contact info (facebook, email, etc) on one screen.
The problem, though, is that the PB is not linking John Smiths accounts to each other but instead linking totally different contact together in a seeminly random fashion. So I pull up John Smith's contact, and I see his info intermingled with, say, Sarah Fortis's Facebook info. Worse, if Sarah Fortis sends me an email, the top banner of that email message then says it's from John Smith.
Anyone else having this problem? Anyone successfully resolve it other than going into clntacts and manually unlinking them all? Thanks in advance.

The messages app is supposed to link only people with same first and last name.
Seeing as this post was not answered earlier in August either, and the manual does not suggest a remedy, then maybe the problem is specific to your account and email provider combination, and in fact people are not suffereing this in any numbers.
So I would suggest you use the Messages app for email only and use either the plain browser with bookmarks for social networking or the specific Facebook and Twitter apps. You should get status messages sent to your email address anyway I guess.
Most similar problems in the forum have been when using email with social network accounts in Messages, Removing the social stuff usually remedies it.
Social networking providers do their best to cross contaminate and maybe this app puts the final touches to it.
I know people do use them for business so I will suppress my usual derision for such "social" networking services, but I admit to never using them on Playbook, so more informed advice is still welcomed.

We have a problem with the Automatic link update in InDesign CS5.5 vers. 7.6
We want to see which images have been updated / modified (ie, marked with the yellow triangle in the links panel).

We believe it is because the links are missing in the CS4 document.
Just as many missing links in the document, as many times the error message is presented.
It's a loop that we can't pass.

This is not normal behavior. I wonder what is different for you.
If you deselect "Check Links Before Opening Document," you should not be prompted to "Do not Update Links." This suggest you have corrupt preferences. So try:

Contacts app automatic Link - serious problem

I used the stock software for Sony Xperia Z2.
I am incredibly frustrated with the way the contacts app links contacts randomly and without my input.
Every now and again I have to delete all the contect on the Contacts app so I stop getting the "unfortunatelly contacts has sttopped" messate.
Everytime i do it, the application decides to link together contacts that are not at all related following some random set of rules. Funny enough, the links the application decides to stablish don't happen in the same way everytime everytime I do it.
This means that I spend more time sorting my phone contacts than enjoying my "top of the range" phone.
My Nexus S, more than four years old and running on 4.4.4, doesn't suffer any problems like this with the default contacts application.
Is there any way I can disable the automatic linking option from my phone?? Because that would be ideal!!!

Automatically Link Contacts Macbook Pro

I have contact cards w/ same names in both my Google and iCloud accounts. I know how to manually link the contacts. However, in the help section of the Contacts app on Macbook Pro, it states, "
If you have more than one card for a contact, you can combine them, preserving all the unique information.
If the contact cards are in different accounts: You can link them, which retains the separate cards, but displays the combined contact information in one card. If contacts have the same name, the cards are linked automatically.
So apparently, it should "automatically" link contact cards that have the same name. This would save alot of time compared to manually linking them. However, I'm finding that it IS NOT automatically linking cards w/ same name. I have Google, FB, LinkdIn, and iCloud contact cards w/ same name. It automatically links my Google (default account) w/ FB and LinkdIn cards. But it doesn't autolink my Google and iCloud cards. Anyone having similar issue/know fix? Or am I misunderstanding the Help Section's statement? Thanks!

Contacts auto-linking

I was copying my Contacts on my SIM Memory to Phone Memory when I accidentally hit the Link button. Unsure of what just happened, I deleted all my contacts saved to the Phone Memory from my SIM Memory and then copied it again. But whenever I add NEW contacts to my Phone it automatically links it to the DELETED set of contacts I accidentally link. The worst part is, I can't UNLINK it from the EDIT menu. How can I fix this linking problem? Someone help me please.

Yep, or use a free third party app also, like InTouch Contacts, to back up your contacts and restore from that app.

Hi,
When the page is submitted for approval by using SharePoint OOTB Page Approval Workflow, it takes quite long time and prompt error message as below.
"The form cannot be submitted to the Web server either because your computer is offline or because the host server is currently unavailable.
If this problem persists, contact your network administrator."
It only happens in Internet Explorer version 8 and 9. IE version below 8 is not used in environment.
But it is working in Firefox.
Please help me on how to fix this issue.

Hi,
I have followed the steps in the following link:
Make an External List from a SQL Azure table with Business Connectivity Services and Secure Store, but I keep receiving the following message when I try to access an external list:
"Unable to render the data. If the problem persists, contact your web server administrator"
Note: I'm using SharePoint 2013 ONLINE, and (as far as I know) I have no access to the logs & powershell.
Any body has had the same issue before?

1) Created a FORM on EMP using the wizards. This creates an AUTOMATIC ROW FETCH
TABLE NAME - EMP
Item Containing PRIMARY KEY - P2099_EMPNO
Primary key column - EMPNO
By default the automatic fetch has a ‘Process Error Message’ of ‘Unable to fetch row.’
2) Created a HTML region. Within this region add
text item P2099_FIND_EMPNO
Button GET_EMP to submit
Branch Modified the conditional branch created during button creation to set P2099_EMPNO with &P2099_FIND_EMPNO.
If I then run the page, enter an existing employee number into P2099_EMPNO and press the GET_EMP button the form is populated correctly. But if I enter an employee that does not exist then I get the oracle error ORA-01403: no data found and no form displayed but a message at the top of the page ‘Action Processed’.I was expecting a blank form to be displayed with the message ‘Unable to fetch row.’
I can work around this by making the automated fetch conditional so that it checks the row exists first. Modify the Fetch row from EMP automated fetch so that it is conditional

But this means that when the employee exists I must be fetching from the DB twice, once for the condition and then again for the actual row fetch.
Rather than the above work around is there something I can change so I don’t get the Oracle error? I’m now wondering if the automatic row fetch is only supposed to be used when linking a report to a form and that I should be writing the fetch process manually. The reason I haven’t at the moment is I’m trying to stick with the automatic wizard generation as much as I can.
Any ideas?

Outlook 2011 problem syncing contacts with address book

I am aware that Lion has broken the sync ability of Outlook 2011 with Address Book. Hopefullly this will be fixed at some point.
So my problem is that I have decided to use a workaround to get my Address Book contents into Outlook 2011. I am not concerned with further syncing at this point. I just want to get my addresses into Outlook and hope a better fix is offered at some point.
About the only way I could figure out how to do this was to export my Address Book as vCard. I then imported the vCard file into Gmail and then exported that as a CSV file. It contained 550 addresses. I opened it in Excel and it contained 550 rows. Great so far.
I then Imported into Outlook 2011 and chose import a text file. When the mapping window opened, it showed over 890 files instead of 550 and the fields were not mapped correctly. I could not complete the import because it was so screwed up.
So I'm back to square one and very frustrated. There must be others who have the same issue and maybe have figured out a way to do this. Please help.

Automatic link to photoshop element with iPhoto 7

I just bought an iMacG5 to replace a iMacG4 and I have a question about iPhoto 7.
With iPhoto 5, I was able, by a double click on a photo to open Photoshop elements. This was an option in rhe preferences of iPhoto.
With iPhoto7, I have not the same option. I tried many questions in the iPhoto help, without any positive result.
Is it possible to get an automatic link to an external software, photoshop for instance,with iPhoto 7. If yes, how?

Using Photoshop (or Photoshop Elements) as Your Editor of Choice in iPhoto.
1 - select Photoshop as your editor of choice in iPhoto's General Preference Section's under the "Edit photo:" menu.
2 - double click on the thumbnail in iPhoto to open it in Photoshop. When you're finished editing click on the Save button. If you immediately get the JPEG Options window make your selection (Baseline standard seems to be the most compatible jpeg format) and click on the OK button. Your done.
3 - however, if you get the navigation window that indicates that PS wants to save it as a PS formatted file. You'll need to either select JPEG from the menu and save (top image) or click on the desktop in the Navigation window (bottom image) and save it to the desktop for importing as a new photo.
This method will let iPhoto know that the photo has been editied and will update the thumbnail file to reflect the edit..
NOTE: With Photoshop Elements 6 the Saving File preferences should be configured: "On First Save: Save Over Current File". Also I suggest the Maximize PSD File Compatabilty be set to Always.
If you want to use both iPhoto's editing mode and PS without having to go back and forth to the Preference pane, once you've selected PS as your editor of choice, reset the Preferences back to "Open in main window". That will let you either edit in iPhoto (double click on the thumbnail) or in PS (Control-click on the thumbnail and seledt "Edit in external editor" in the Contextual menu). This way you get the best of both worlds

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

I HIGHLY suggest He create a new AppleID for himself.
He can do it now then simply use the new AppleID when he gets the iPhone.
Best suggsetion its to have a computer login for him wtih is own iTunes and then he will have his own contacts, calendars and all other data.
He can do that now & set up iCloud then when he gets the phone, he can simply enter his AppleID and its done.

New 2.3.6 lost text contact pics linked to fb

With the old version most of my phone contacts were linked through my facebook. So all the contact pictures showed their fb profile pic. Same with when i sent them a text message. Now that i got the new 2.3.6 update, my phone contacts are still linked to fb, but my text message contact pics are not. Anyone else having that problem??? Anyone know how to fix it???

THere is more to the story and part of it is how NASTY and EGO FILLED facebook is. No offense but they have gotten to brave for their own good.
Personally I don't like all the wasted facebook itnegration of cotnacts, mainly email, since thsoe of use with large, common people, in our lists, it's worthless for my phone.
Pictures, not bad. But I nly need close family and friends. Those I can get on my own easily.
Google has Google +. Which I like, and it still improts images from there. IT can synch any photo you take on the phone, and then you can choose to share it on posts. THat was nice whne I thought I losst Dental pics when I scaled dogs teeth, and forgot to email them to the clinic. Luckily I was synchign in real tiem to Google+ and they were backed up in that days photos in my virtual album ready to send to the clinic.
Facebook feels threatned by Google +. WHen Google has supported Facebook apps early on. Facebook was rude enough to threaten users who mentioned Google+ on facebook. Till legal departments got a hodl of them advising them they shouldn't.
