Problems with a preorder download
I had a preorder for the Stevie Nicks album, "24 karat Gold: Songs from the Vault", that downloaded yesterday. There are several problems with the download that I can't resolve. I was missing 2 songs that never downloaded, wouldn't download using a "check for purchases" from the store menu. I had to call support to have them resend the songs as neither of them were even marked as being available in iCloud. This has been fixed, now.
The other problems which I can't resolve for the life of me, & I have plenty of experience using iTunes, are the fact that the album downloaded in 2 different files. I have 5 songs in one listing, the remaining songs are in the second album listed in my library. When I was on the phone with support, I asked about this issue, the response was that the first 5 songs were downloaded when I did the preorder, but the indicated that when the remainder of the album downloaded yesterday, everything should have merged into a single file or album listing. They didn't. I have done a "get info"on everything, & can't see any difference in the tags. The second problem is the songs that downloaded yesterday, downloaded in duplicate. The duplicates are flagged as being in iCloud, while I have the second copy on my Mac. Granted this is an easy fix, just delete the duplicates, but I was curious to see if anyone has ever seen this happen. Store support said that these 2 problems are due to issues with the files that the record company provided iTunes, & they have no control over it. Sounds kind of lame, but whatever.
I'm hoping someone can offer some help as to how I can merge all songs into a single album listing.

Problem with pdf display downloaded from application server
Hi all,
I have a problem with displaying pdf downloaded from application server (saved in BINARY MODE).
I am getting the pdf output of adobe form in FPFORMOUTPUT-PDF as rawstring back to my program and then converting that rawstring into binary form using the function module SCMS_BINARY_TO_STRING.
Now, when I export the data to presentation server directly using cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_download, the pdf is downloaded properly.
However, when I save the data to application server file by looping at the internal table obtained from SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY and using TRANSFER, and subsequently downloading the file in "unconverted format" from AL11 to my desktop, I am getting a "blank" pdf file (with the same number of pages as the one downloaded using gui_download).
I have tried different encodings during download but in those cases i get corrupted pdf message. only the default option of INTIAL value seems to work.
I am forced to believe that there is a problem in my code which saves the data to app server but I cant find any solution that is logical. Any solution to this would be greatly appreciated.

Here's what others have done successfully to work around that problem: In your Web browser, go to Photoshop.com and log in. You should be asked to accept the Terms Of Use. Once you have, then you won't have any issue with accessing Photoshop.com from PSE.

Oxc000007b problem with audition cc download-any ideas?
Hi, had the same problem when downloading Lightroom 5 from the creative cloud desktop - dll package for lightroom solved the problem here.
I am on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.
(I uninstalled audition cc and installed it again with the same result)

Best BeeSteveG, thanks for the link again. I tried before to extract both (msvcr80.dll and msvcr100.dll) to audition cc like I did with the lightroom 5 problem and I failed.
This time I only extracted msvcr100.dll to audition cc and it worked!

Well it's those .dlls that are the only reason that I'm aware of for this failing. Can I suggest downloading and installing them again? I presume that it's the information in this thread that you are referring to?

If you are really running iOS 3.1.2 as your signature suggests, that is likely the issue. Many apps now require iOS 4.3 or higher. -

Problem with Image Capture Download Folders
Hi there - I was wondering if anyone might be able to help with a problem I'm having with Image Capture (version 3.0.3 (333))?
I use image capture to download photos from my digital camera and normally have no problems.
When I tried to do some downloads this morning, my normal list of folders in the "Download to" drop-down box is completely blank. It didn't even have the "Other" option to chose a folder. The Automatic Task drop down was also blank, I could not open preferences and in the "options" box, the ColourSync profile would not load anything.
I could not download the photos to anywhere - when I tried to "download some" it gave me an error message saying that I need to choose a download folder, but of course I am unable to do this.
This morning I tried repairing permissions in disk utilities, and removing the com.apple.imagecaptureapplist file and rebooting as suggested here:

but that hasn't worked completely. I can now download the photos but they just automatically go to the "Pictures". At least I can download them now, but if I can get the two drop down boxes working again, and the other things working (preferences etc), that would be great.
One other thing, about a month ago I foolishly tried to rename my Home Folder without doing it the proper way. I had thought I had gotten everything back to normal with my library etc, but maybe there are a few unknown implications still out there, and this is one of them as I don't think I have tried to download any photos since then.

OK:
1. I found the photo and have put it back as the login page icon as close as I could to what it used to look like..
2. I trashed the user's .com.apple.systempreference file but it didn't work.
3. I then copied my .com.apple.systempreference file to their library>preferences folder but no luck.
4. Finally, I noticed the other user account had no system preferences file in their "Applications" folder. So I copied the system preferences file from my application folder across and used that to open system preferences, and that has seemed to fix it, ie. system preferences now opens directly from the apple menu.
So I am noticing a few things now:
5. The other user's "Applications" folder doesn't have many applications in it. It only has:
- Utilities
- Adobe Version Cue CS2
- Real Player
- iTunes (which was only downloaded there recently - post Home Folder name change I think)
- Imagecapture which I copied there yesterday
- and now System preferences
6. This is compared to my user account applications folder which has loads of other files in it, eg. Preview, Stuffit Expander, iDVD, iChat, Calculator, Chess, Skype, etc etc etc. I just can't remember if this was the case before the Home Folder rename.
7. Now, my user account used to be the only admin account, so it makes sense that my "Applications Folder" has more in it because programs could only have been downloaded there for a long time. The other person's user account has only been an admin account much more recently - say in the last year and very few applications (if any) would have been downloaded there.
8. Interestingly, while the other user account doesn't have the Skype or Preview file in their "Applications" folder, it does appear in their bar along the bottom of the screen that has the dashboard and finder icons (is this called the dock?).
9. Anyway, if you are in the other user's account and you click on Skype, iCal, Word or Preview in their Dock for example, those programs open no problem so the dock icons must somehow have survived the Home Folder renaming and stayed linked to the corresponding files in my "Applications" folder? But some other programs, eg. system preferences, image capture etc didn't survive it and became "delinked".
10. I also notice internetconnect still works in the other user account, even though there is no internetconnect file in that user's "Applications" folder.
11. So it seems that some links between the other user and my account have been severed, and some have survived.
Some other information:
12. Everything that was on the other user's desktop appears to have been recovered since the Home Folder debacle (I think getting the Library back helped this?), and I managed to redo the desktop picture/wallpaper.
13. I'm not sure if it is relevant, but in my account, Finder has a side bar on the left that is divided into an upper section and a lower section. The lower section has my home folder, a documents folder, a desktop folder, a pictures folder etc. On the upper section it has the macintosh disk icon, and also a Network Icon (that contains a library file and another file which I can't remember just now but can let you know if that helps). The other user account does not have the Network icon however. Do you think this might make a difference?
14. In addition to the other user account there is also a guest account on this computer which has suffered the same problems, eg. not being able to open imagecapture or systempreferences. However, when I fixed the problems in the other user account by copying over the imagecapture and system preferences files from my account to the other user account, the problems in the guest account were automatically fixed!
15. So it seems the guest login is somehow linked to the fixes in the other user account, but the other user account and the guest account are suffering some problems with links to my user account. Perhaps the latter was badly broken with the Home Folder rename incident?
16. Finally, if you go into Finder while in the other user's account, you can navigate to the applications folder in my account and access all the applications there, ie. Macintosh HD>Users>MyHomeFolderName>Applications. My applications folder is not blocked like some of the other ones, eg. Library, Desktop, Pictures etc.
17. Is there someway to re-establish the link between the other user account and my application's folder? I don't want to copy all the applications across even if I can do that, because it just takes up more space on the HD, but if that is all that can be done, then I will consider doing it...

Q: What is the Adobe Download Assistant?
A: Trial versions of Adobe Creative Suite, Photoshop Elements, and Adobe Premiere Elements are downloaded using the Adobe Download Assistant — a small application that is meant to improve download reliability and avoid issues that commonly occur during large downloads, such as frequent disconnects. After the trial product is downloaded, Adobe Download Assistant should automatically start installing the product.
Q: I installed the Adobe Download Assistant, but my trial didn't download?
A: Under certain conditions, the Adobe Download Assistant installs but does not immediately start downloading the trial product. If this happens:
1. Quit the Adobe Download Assistant.
2. In your browser, return to the product trial download page on Adobe.com. Refresh the page, then click the Download now button again and follow the prompts.
Important: When you start the download, be sure to select your User folder or Desktop folder. A common cause of errors are due to attempts to download the Adobe Download Assistant to the Program Files/Applications folder. The Adobe Download Assistant only downloads the trial application files. Once the download is complete it will launch the application installer; when the installer is launched you can then choose to install the actual trial application into the Program Files/Application folder.

On the top it says "Welcome, User" but on the bottom right below the action bar for the download it says "Sign in ith your Adobe ID to continue" and the action/download bar just sits there. A: Try opening your browser by right-clicking in the start-programs menu and select "Run as Administrator".

Step1: I downloaded the Adobe Downloader Assistant installer and installed ADA in the default location (/Applications), which then was followed by said ADA launch. I logged in, selected PP and started a 2 hrs download of a 1.7 GB file.
Step2: I come back after a while and find a nice DVD icon on my Desktop, reading PP CS6: Great! I quit ADA and open that folder, to find another folder in it, with 3 subfolders and an "Install" application. Click on it. Nada. Reclick on it. Same + an error -1704 "can't open application".
Step3-30: I am cutting a long story short, but after reading all the support threads I could find, trying to reinstall ADA on my desktop, relog on the website, restart and cancel PP CS6 download a few times (without ADA noticing that there was already a 1.7 GB corresponding to that same file), and repeatedly failed to launch the install.app, I decided to act stupidely and remove all files and go to:
Step 31: reinstall ADA, re-download PP CS6.
Step 32: I waited after the install, nothing happened so I went to the new PP CS6 "DVD" and found the "install" app, which reliably did not start anything.
Step 33: I rebooted. After the reboot, the DVD was gone, replaced by an empty folder of the same name...
Step 34: me typing all this... I am using a 2011 iMac running Lion and Creative Suite CS 5.5. Thanks for any pointers... -

please help meI think the real problem is that you don't check the return value from read (it's probably less than data.length indicating an incomplete read). Isn't there a readFully somewhere?

If I try to play songs i downloaded with windows media player My zen touch(20Gb) freezes and won't shut down:angry:. I have downloaded the latest firmware so that can't be the cause of the problem.
Can someone tell me what I can do about that.
btw I don't have problems with songs downloaded with creative's media source
Message Edited by Lt_chill on 07-08-2005 09:24 PMIf you mean you subscribed to iTunes Match, you have to import your music into your iTuens library in order to add it to iTunes Match. iTunes Match (and iCloud) only works with iOS devices and computers. It won't work with your iPod Classic; you'll have to sync that with iTunes in order to add your music.

As per above the Reget add on is now not compatible with Firefox's latest version. Is this something which Firefox is looking into? Is there a work around or is this up to Reget to remedy?
I have had a similar problem with my system. I just recently (within a week of this post) built a brand new desktop. I installed Windows 7 64-bit Home and had a clean install, no problems. Using IE downloaded an anti-virus program, and then, because it was the latest version, downloaded and installed Firefox 4.0. As I began to search the internet for other programs to install after about maybe 10-15 minutes my computer crashes. Blank screen (yet monitor was still receiving a signal from computer) and completely frozen (couldn't even change the caps and num lock on keyboard). I thought I perhaps forgot to reboot after an update so I did a manual reboot and it started up fine.
When ever I got on the internet (still using firefox) it would crash after anywhere between 5-15 minutes. Since I've had good experience with FF in the past I thought it must be either the drivers or a hardware problem. So in-between crashes I updated all the drivers. Still had the same problem. Took the computer to a friend who knows more about computers than I do, made sure all the drivers were updated, same problem. We thought that it might be a hardware problem (bad video card, chipset, overheating issues, etc.), but after my friend played around with my computer for a day he found that when he didn't start FF at all it worked fine, even after watching a movie, or going through a playlist on Youtube.
At the time of this posting I'm going to try to uninstall FF 4.0 and download and install FF 3.6.16 which is currently on my laptop and works like a dream. Hopefully that will do the trick, because I love using FF and would hate to have to switch to another browser. Hopefully Mozilla will work out the kinks with FF 4 so I can continue to use it.
I apologize for the lengthy post. Any feedback would be appreciated, but is not necessary. I will try and post back after I try FF 3.16.6. -

I've tried downloading the latest verstion and it stops after 10 megs.
Is it me or somthing with the server?

The server is ok, but we did hear some people mentioning network problems that stopped the download - you can also try using a download accelerator tool to keep the download going.
If you try again and you still get stopped at exactly the same file size - it might be a space problem on your PC's temp area. -

so i went back to the apple store and the only solution was to trade in your phone for a new one because there was a faulty conector in the microport. hopefully you have a waranty and your stuff backed up!
