Problems with Analogue Voltage Inputs

Hello Everyone.
I am kinda embarassed here. This is a simple question
I am trying to read an anologue input voltage to reflect transformed phase voltages from a 3 phase machine.
When I try to configure the channel the inputs seem to be all high (5V), using labview, though there is no voltage on the terminals.
I am using the DAQ assistant to configure the channel.
I have tried several things and cannot resolve this. I have LAbview 7.1, and a 6025E card.
Can anyone please help.
Thanks for your time.

Read the manual about bias current(s) on your input
Open channels can drift to any possible input voltage if they don't have a current path for the bias current.

  • Problem with CPU Voltage

    Hello
    I build new PC with:
    i5-760
    Noctua NH-D14
    MSI P55-GD65
    G.Skill 2x2GB CL7 ECO
    Antec TruePower New 750W TP-750
    TwinTech GF 9600GT
    I have problem with CPU voltage as even when I set it for example to 1.201v in bios, under load it overshot to 1.256-1268. The best is when I oc`ed cpu to 4GHZ and set voltage in bios for 1.30v it overshot for 1.45v+! Not to mention that temps are skyhigh from that. It doesn`t matter if I try to put BIOS Vcore on 1.1v on stock because under load it still rise to 1.16. I turned off all eist, c-state, turbo boost, phase led and switch phase, set vdrop to low and still something is wrong here. I updated the bios under dos from USB stick to newest 1.9 version in order to update CPU micro code without error and it not helped. I want to know is that even possible to fix or should I RMA MB or CPU.
    Minor problem is with sysfans as they power on for a second and turn off instantly to start working again when I see list on devices in post. After rebot when my monitor is switched off it takes something like 5 sec to power monitor on and another 5 to show bios, is that normal?

    I have similar issues, it's hard to tell which measurement is the most accurate, there are 2 different measurements in the control center that don't match up with the figures set in the bios.  The only way to be sure would be to get an expensive accurate multimeter but If you're only interested in running a stable overclocked computer without knowing the exact figures then get the computer running stable and lower the voltages until it starts to become unstable with prime95,
    Or you could work the other way round, set the voltages so it boots but doesn't run prime95 for long, then raise the vcore and vtt one at a time until your happy with the length of time prime95 runs without errors.  I'd be happy with 24 hours, I seem to remember errors creeping in at around the 9 hour mark on the setting below what I have it set to now.

  • Problems with adding voltage ai channel to an existing task - LabVIEW

    I am using the Cont Acq Strain Samples (with Calibration).vi which ships with LV as the basis for a vi I need to monitor n channels of strain gauges (1/4 bridge type I) combined with another channel of a user defined voltage channel (pressure, temperature etc).  Everything works fine when I use the strain null option but I am having problems when I include the shunt cal option.  I am defining the strain channels then building the strain task using DAQmx Create Virtual channel.vi followed by the strain null opton then the shunt cal option (so far just like the example).  I then have the option to add a user defined voltage input, again using the DAQmx Create Virtual Channel.vi, (selected from a list of predefined configurations).  Everything is fine so far.  I then send the task to the sample clock vi (continuous samples) and then to the DAQmx Start Task.vi then into a while loop where the DAQmx Read (Analog 1D Wfm Nchan Nsamp) resides.  I then display (and record) the acquired waveform signals at a fairly low rate.  If I am only doing the strain null on the strain channels everything is fine but if I have included the shunt cal on the strain channels, the data becomes mixed up or is in some way corrupted that I have not put my finger on yet.  I get no error messages.  Additionally, if I don't include the additional voltage input task and only use strain channels everything is fine.  I have looked at the shunt cal vi's and cannot see any way that adding another channel to the task list can cause this problem.  I am emphasizing that the strain null and shunt cal are done prior to including the voltage ai channel to the task.  I am using an SCXI-1520 (for strain gages) and an SCXI-1121 (oher signals) with a SCXI-1600.   I have also attached the .llb for this.  I am probably missing something basic but sometimes those basic misconceptions can be the hardest to find.  Any ideas?

    Yep, something basic.  Apparently in the Shunt Cal subvi the task is executed to acquire a set of actual strain readings which are then used to calculate a percent of theoretical strain values.  Anyway, the task is started and then stopped (not deleted).  Apparently it is taboo to add a channel to a task that has already been executed, which I think makes sense.  I'm just not sure why I didn't get an error message istead of the thing going along its merry way while spitting out garbage.  To correct this I simply broke the shunt cal vi up and executed the part that ran the task after adding the non-strain channel to the task.  Works fine now.

  • Problem with ear bud input.

    I assume it's a problem with my ear phone input, because i just bought a new pair of earbuds, and its only playing out of one ear bud. Do i need to send it in to get it fixed or what?

    If the earbuds work correctly on another device then you have a broken headphone jack and need to send it in for service or take it to the nearest Apple Store.

  • Problem with analogue output voltage

    i am working on a level control system which has an analogue input (0-10V level measurement probe) and an analogue proportional valve analogue output. I have configured the AO to be 0-10 volts in the measurement and explorer but when running the labview program it reverts to -10 to 10volts.Therefore if i set a tank to be filled to a setpoint of 3 volts it will do this but if i set the set point back to 2volts when the probe is reading 3V the Analogue output reverts to a negative output and opens the valve to fill the tank even if the setpont is reached.
    Can anybody help?

    Hi, thanks for your reply. The card is a PCI-6024E type the version of labview is Labview 6.Enclosed please find my labview code and front panel as an attachment.
    Thanks

  • Making a graph with a voltage input on each axis with a continous curve display

    I need to make a graph that can display two voltages, with one of the voltages on each axis.  I have accomplished this by using an xy graph.  The problem is I need a curve to be displayed as the voltages change similar to the curve displayed in the waveform chart.  Currently, a line is displayed between the inital point and the final point but it then disappears.

    Hello again.
    I should have explained my example more.  I used the same signal for both the X and Y inputs of my XY graph, so the linearly increasing line is expected behavior.  In order to do what you want, you need to use a split signal VI after the DAQ Assistant express VI.  Once you place the split signal VI on the block diagram you can expand it so that it has two output nodes and wire them to the X and Y input terminals of the Build XY Graph express VI.
    Similarly, for the array example, you can use the split signal and then use two build array VIs.   In order to reset the graph you can just initialize the shift registers with a zero to clear the graph each time it runs.  This will clear the graph at the beginning of each run (and not at the end).

  • Web service call problem with complex types input

    We are trying to call a web service and pass as parameter
    some complex types. When invoking the web service everything works
    well on flex side, but on the server side the input parameters we
    get from flex are not correct - complex type is removed and the
    elements of the complex type are sent. See the example:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="
    http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml"
    layout="absolute">
    <mx:WebService id="ws_id" wsdl="link" useProxy="false"
    fault="wsFault(event)">
    <mx:operation id="op_id" name="op"
    result="wsResult(event)">
    <mx:request>
    <parameters>
    <parameter1>{value1}</parameter1>
    <parameter2>{value2}</parameter2>
    <parameter3>{value3}</parameter3>
    <parameter4>
    <parameter4_1>{value4_1}</parameter4_1>
    <parameter4_2>{value4_2}</parameter4_2>
    <parameter4_3>{value4_3}</parameter4_3>
    </parameter4>
    </parameters>
    </mx:request>
    </mx:operation>
    </mx:WebService>
    </mx:Application>
    on server side we get this:
    <parameters>
    <parameter1>{value1}</parameter1>
    <parameter2>{value2}</parameter2>
    <parameter3>{value3}</parameter3>
    <parameter4_1>{value4_1}</parameter4_1>
    <parameter4_2>{value4_2}</parameter4_2>
    <parameter4_3>{value4_3}</parameter4_3>
    </parameters>
    Instead of :
    <parameters>
    <parameter1>{value1}</parameter1>
    <parameter2>{value2}</parameter2>
    <parameter3>{value3}</parameter3>
    <parameter4>
    <parameter4_1>{value4_1}</parameter4_1>
    <parameter4_2>{value4_2}</parameter4_2>
    <parameter4_3>{value4_3}</parameter4_3>
    </parameter4>
    </parameters>
    Any idea how is it possible to send complex type as web
    service input from flex ?

    Hi,
    I also have similar type of problem where I need to invoke a Web service with Complex input parameters.
    I followed Susan's blog but I stuck at a point where methos getItem is created.
    Can anyone tell me how to get that method for my requirement.
    If possible can you guys share your solutions here.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Problems with new display, "Input not supported"

    So, I just got myself a new LCD screen (Acer AL2016WCbd) for my G4 (DP 1Ghz Quicksilver 2002 w/ 10.5 installed). The monitor seems to work alright and everything with my Windows box, but whenever I try to use it with my G4 the monitor goes black, flashes an error box saying "Input not supported," and then goes to sleep. It does show the boot screen... the gray background and Apple logo... but goes black after that.
    I've tried rebooting, resetting the PMU, tried booting in Single User and Verbose mode, tried hooking the G4 up to another monitor and lowering the resolution to 800x600 @ 75Hz and then reconnecting the Acer, but no dice.
    My only other ideas are to try hooking it up over DVI instead of VGA (though I'd need to get an adapter for that); playing around with a few different things in target disk mode by hooking it up to my laptop (which I don't currently have); and trying to boot from my Leopard install disk (when I find it). Might any of these things do any good? Is there anything else I haven't thought of? Or am I just wasting my time?

    OK, so I can get the display working if I first boot up with another display, set the resolution to whatever I want it to be, then hotswap in the Acer that's been giving me the problems. But once I restart my computer I have to go through the whole process again. Either the tower isn't picking up on the display profile from the monitor or the monitor just isn't sending it to the tower.
    My question now is: is there a way to for me to lock the resolution and refresh rate, so it always outputs at, say, 1680x1050 at 60Hz? Both Newegg and Acer have been giving me all kinds of (excuse me here) sh** about how they can't help me, so I really don't want to deal with them anymore by having to return/exchange the monitor or get it serviced. I mean, I know the thing works and I know the resolution I want it to run at. I just want to be able to lock it so Leopard doesn't revert to some unsupported output every time I reboot.

  • Problems with Built in input/output

    I just received my new Macbook Pro 13" from the refurb store, everything has worked perfectly except an issue when using an external USB audio interface.
    Whilst running Line 6's Gearbox and Logic Pro Studio 8, i can record my guitar/synth through the interface but without any output sound from the internal speakers, yet when listening back after recording i can hear it fine. I've plugged headphones into the rear of the audio interface and sound is present, so in theory plugging an audio cable from the headphone slot into the built in input on my mac should work... no.
    Have run through all settings and the main problem seems to be on the Audio/Midi setup page, where when checking the built in input settings it says on the right handside "Output is not available"
    I really need some help with this as the main purpose of this new mac is for sound and audio work for college/university.

    Good idea Joe.
    I went to my system preferences (I'm running Mavericks) and checked.
    My internal microphone shows as 'built-in'
    My line in shows as 'audio line-in port'
    I moved up the input volume a little to be safe
    Output volume on full, but there was never any problem playing tracks previously recorded.
    I still haven't reinstalled Garage Band, as I wanted to get my podcast done before the end of the month. I exported the cast as it was to an external hard drive, along with small mp3's I had been about to add in (like my jingle) then went to another computer in the house, and recreated the podcast from those mp3's. I was able to add in the introductory audio recording on that other computer and complete my podcast.
    I transferred the newly recreated podcast back to my normal laptop (where the problem occurs), checked and published my podcast. I double checks the newly recreated cast (the one I built up on the other machine from mp3's) to see if I could record now  - since I recorded within that particular project on the other machine. I *still was not able to record* on my laptop.
    I still cannot create another new project that allows me to audio record. My preferences for the garage band app and op sys  on my laptop, all appear to be set for sound.
    I guess I will now break down and reinstall garage band. I think I've reset something in the application that an update doesn't reset.
    Thanks for your ideas.

  • Problem with the analog input acquisition in labview fpga 8.5.1 and CRIO

     Hello all,
       I am using NI CRIO 9104 RT controller with 9014 FPGA chassis.I am using an Analog input module 9205.My problem is with the acquisition.I am using a
    function generator which generates some sine wave of -1 to 1 ,5hz to125khz sine signal and i have connected to 9205 in rse mode.In FPGA vi i had placed the I/O node and placed an indicator(data type FXP).If i connect the i/o node to a chart or graph,i am not able to see the output.?How this problem can bbe solved
    Next i had placed a FIFO in DMA transfer mode of depth 1023 which will accept the U32 datatype,so i did some manipulation as mentioned in a tutorial.
    Now in RT VI i am reading the same data from the buffer in U32 and doing the reverse manipulation i am able to view the data.Now the problem is ..if i am
    increasing the frequency of the input signal,the data is completly lost ?How can i overcome this problem...
    thanks in advance,
    srikrishna.J
    Analysis Engineer,

    Difficult to see where is the problem ....
    Be sure you are doing a good RT system by grabing reference design examples
    Don't forget to specify the DMA FIFO size in the RT code
    Doesn't matter the size of the DMA size under the FPGA project explorer.
    Upload your code, You will get answers...

  • Problems with entries into input prompt on browser

    The browser -- be it safari or firefox – doesn't allow me to make input entries at all. This is entirely new to me. Until now I never had problems (OS X 10.8.2). On another partition with 10.6.8 there are no problems. So I actually have to change the partition and the OS version in order to use online banking.
    Whar could be the reason?
    Thanks for useful hints.

    Thanks for the hint. Id didn't solve my problem, though.
    In the meantime I found out that the numeric field was blocked. Although I don't know how I managed to block it, it was blocked in fact and now that I got it unblocked "all is well that ends well".

  • Problem with Safari i18n input

    Hello,
    I wish to report a problem I have discovered with Safari, in respect to its handling of international input characters.
    When in the blogger.com "create a new post" page, the "Title" text field of the html form, ignores the greek accent. That is, when I press ";" (the greek accent modifier) and then a greek letter, it ignores the modifier and just outputs the normal, unaccented version of the letter. If, on the other hand, I copy/paste an accented greek work from another source in the text field, it accepts it normally.
    This only happens with the "Title" field in the www.blogger.com "create a new post" page. The main body text field in the same page works as expected, as does every other text field I've encountered thus far.
    The problem does not appear under FireFox.
    I use OSX 10.4.8 on a G4 iBook and Core 2 Duo MBP. The problem appears on both machines, and it was there on earlier versions of 10.4 too. I have tested some WebKit nightlies and they had the same problem, thought it was a while since I last did it.
    I am also a computer science graduate, so you can be assured I'm not an ignorant user making this up.
    It's only a minor bug, but it would be handy if it could be eliminated. It could possibly affect more that this isolated case (webpage/field combo) that I have spotted it.
    Thanks in advance,

  • Problems with quick keyboard input?

    Solved... apparently WhatsApp is to blame. Found a hint in the BlackBerry Classic users forum that might be related to a memory leak. Deleted it and instantly all my problems were resolved... hmm....

    Curious if any non-Q10 owners experience this? If you don't have a Q10, please try the actions  below which cause trouble (typing while receiving a text message or BBM, or typing immediately affter hitting send) and let me know if the behavior is the same on non Q10's? I type very quickly on my Q10 keyboard. Often time while entering text, say in a text message or BBM conversation, I will hit enter to send and begin writing again. With any iPhone or Android you would just keep typing. Half the time I need to re-select the text box to keep typing again, or it does begin to enter and a few characters echo on the screen, and then the device freezes for a seecond and then the text box is empty, although the phone operates normally after that. Is it a known issue for BB10 to lock up like this, and is the needing to re-select the text box after sending default behavior? I haven't found a way to disable it and it's very annoying. P.S. am i the only one who can almost never manage to hit the X in the circle on the browser to clear the url? i have to hold delete most of the time...
