Problems with attachments to mails (with browser firefox)

Dear Sir or Madam,
I can't attach files (even small ones) to my mails sent with firefox anymore. I always receive these words: "Bad Request - Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand." WHY?? Before, it worked without any problems. I want to stay with firefox! Please, answer me. Thank you very much in advance. MB

Firefox does not do email, but there are enough users here that someone might be able to help you anyway, if you indicated what web based email you are using and how you are attempting to add the attachment. And when it stopped working, if you can improve on that statement. What is the file extension of the attachment.
Looks like you provided the exact wording on the message so Googling that including the enclosing quotes. Seems to show the number 1 answer comes from Yahoo answers -- so for maybe they have the biggest problem the example will assume it is yahoo, though they all have these same two problems. Such problems often occur more frequently when the website makes major changes or when Firefox comes out with an updated version. I think Yahoo changed their site they wanted me to update to the new whatever.
Clear your cookies and your cache
* clear your cookies should be clear your Yahoo cookies.
*# Tools > Options > Privacy
*# search on yahoo
*# try clearing the mail.yahoo.com cookies, if that doesn't work try extending the range within yahoo's cookies.
* clear your cache, Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > "Clear Now".
:To prevent problems in the future, suggest clearing cache upon exiting Firefox
:see http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/4928/clearcachew.png
Yahoo provides good picture documentation on their site and better and safer than Mozilla's support example for Firefox (which requires you to read carefully or end up destroying all of your history), but I think my picture above is better as it shows both panels side by side. But you might want to the the same for other browsers from their documentation as well.

I am having a problem with the FireFox browser. I have attached two files that best describe the problem. I have labeled them A & B. A is the way it should look and B is what happens after I have I opened several tabs. I can get it back to normal if I click on VIEW than click on customize. When the customize window appears FireFox returns to its normal state. I than click on the done box and go back to what I have been doing. I tried resetting FireFox back to default settings, but that did not correct the problem.
This began happening about a month ago. Is there a way I can fix this problem? Thanks for your help.I don't know how to attach my 2 attachments that shows the problem I am having.

  • Problem With Browser

    Hi,
Can any one help me with a problem with my Firefox browser, I have recently been troubled with "Bing or Conduit" taking over as the apparent browser.
Not sure whether or not I have inadvertently clicked on something?.
    Blackrockguy

You installed the Conduit spyware. To remove it, back up all data, then follow these instructions.
If the instructions don't work, proceed as follows.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Conduit
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). From the Finder menu bar, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder…
Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return. A Finder window should open with a folder named "Conduit" selected. If it does, delete the selected item.
    Repeat with this line:
    /Applications/Toolbars
Now you're deleting a folder named "Toolbars". You may be prompted for your login password. Next, copy this line:
    /Library
Select Go to Folder… again and paste. Don't delete the Library folder. Delete only the following items inside it, if they exist.
    Application Support/Conduit
    InputManagers/CTLoader
    LaunchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
    ScriptingAdditions/ct_scripting.osax
Close the Finder windows you opened. Log out and log back in.
I've seen a report that Conduit may be bundled with a scam "utility" called "MacKeeper." If you installed MacKeeper, you should remove it according to the developer's instructions. It's worthless and causes many problems reported on this site.

  • Problems with browsing on Safari and Firefox since Leopard upgrade ??

Ever since I upgraded to Leopard, I am experiencing consistent problems while browsing. Both Firefox and Safari stall when I click on links or try to load pages. The browsers just appears dead and the loading icons just stall. Firefox is much worse than Safari with every 3rd or 4th click causing a stall. I have to wait about a minute before the click is recognized and the page is loaded.
I thought it might be my airport connect but I have other Windows comps on the same network and they don't have the problem.
I haven't seen any thread in the Safari discussions about this and can't find anything on the net about it either.
Anyone know what the problem might be?
    Safari 3.1.1
    Firefox 2.0.0.14
    Leaopard 10.5.2

There were no error messages in the console for the stalling. However after I plugged the ethernet cable into the Imac, the problem seems to have gone away.
This is good but how can I fix the problem with my airport wireless connection ?

  • Can someone tell me the problem with my Firefox browser?

every time i try to open it, it doesnt work and it looks like this..
    http://prntscr.com/4yt5zx
Yes i already restarted my computer, i also uninstalled firefox and re installed it.

Getting a black screen after updating to Firefox 33 can be caused by a problem with hardware acceleration in Firefox.
You can start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> by holding down the Shift/Options key (Safe Mode disables hardware acceleration).
You can try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"
You need to close and restart Firefox after toggling this setting.
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration
Note that there is a Firefox 33.0.1 release scheduled that addresses some hardware acceleration related crashes.

  • Problems with Safari, Firefox and Flash player

Ever since I got my new iMac that has Snow Leopard I've had problems with Safari and Firefox freezing or crashing. It appears that part of the problem is the Flash plugin because sometimes a screen pops up and says something like: the flash script is having problems. I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling Flash, Safari and Firefox but the problem is still there. My browser seems to hang up or freeze a lot no matter if I use Safari or Firefox.
    Any ideas?
I just discovered the Chrome browser from Google this morning and so far its working very well. No freezes and it appears to handle Flash video without any problems.
    How can that be?
    Thanks

Ah! The proverbial missing information. Why the regrets? Most people are having no issues migrating from previous computers; it's the preferred method. See Best Practices and Setup new Mac. You're a long way from starting over.

  • Problem with new firefox tabs and window focus

Here's a problem that I've had for ages - sometimes it annoys me, other times I can live with it. Right now it's really p***ing me off.  :x
I have selected 'a new tab in the most recent window' under FF's Preferences->Tabs->Open links from other applications in:, so as an example, if I click on a URL in a mail in Thunderbird, Firefox opens it in a new tab. However, window focus stays on Thunderbird. I run both of them full screen, so although I'm looking at the web page in Firefox, anything I do on the keyboards affects Thunderbird. It affects URLs opened from other apps too e.g. if I open a terminal and do
    firefox www.archlinux.org
focus stays on the terminal window. The only exception is when firefox is not already running - in that case, firefox launches with focus.
DE is xfce4, and the system is completely up to date.
I've done some googling, and AFAICS, nobody else seems to have this problem. Any ideas, anyone?
    TIA.

Thanks MAC!EK - definitely a useful add-on, but it still doesn't solve my problem. In Tab Mix Plus Options, I have the following selected:
Links -> Open links from other applications in: New tab
Events-> Tab Focus -> Focus/Select tabs  that open from: <all>
However, the behaviour is as before i.e. I click a URL in Thunderbird, it opens in a new tab in Firefox, but window focus stays on Thunderbird. Within Firefox, the newly-opened tab is selected or focussed, but Firefox itself is not.
Anyway, thanks again. I think I need to keep looking.

  • Problems with browser loading and finder menus

I have a MacPro Tower using airport to connect to a DSL modem. Recently I am having problems with very slow loading of web pages, often showing "Can't Find Server" errors. The problem is not with my DSL provider, because I have two older Macs in the house using the same DSL line and they are working fine. Video tutorials on Adobe's site are freezing about two minutes in and never load entirely (not a problem on the other Macs). This happens with any browser so not a browser problem. Also when quitting applications on occasion the finder menu continues to show the menu for the application I have just quit and seems reluctant to go back to finder or another application.
    Anyone have any ideas?

Similar problem here: sometimes ALL browsers (Safari, Camino, Firefox) stuck randomly on certain web pages.
If I force close the browsers, the program remain in Dock (but not in Process Monitor or in Terminal) and the machine refuse to restart (but others programs works as well).
Even if I submit a "sudo reboot" the machine remains in unknow state.
The only way to exit from this situation is to do an hard reset.

  • What can be done for problems with downloading Firefox to computer?

Having problems with problems downloading Firefox to a computer that has a slow internet connection. Trying to install Firefox on a computer running XP that has older Windows Explorer program. The computer was used as a stand alone computer and not connected the internet for a few years, so no recent windows explorer updates have been made. The computer seems to perform well otherwise. Have been advised by tech adviser to try loading Firefox to get most up to date browser. The thought was Windows Explorer is running too slow due to being outdated. The computer is connected by a Ethernet cable to a router. Other computers use this setup successfully. Limited internet connections can be made, so the computer modem does work. The download using Windows Explorer is timing out, due to outdated browser. Have tried to install Firefox on the computer using portable version of Firefox on USB drive. Have also tried to download to another computer, saving the install program on a USB drive, then placing the file on the older computer. Looking for suggestions on how to install Firefox on the older computer that can't download the program directly. Feel if can get Firefox on computer, can make necessary updates to computer and slow internet connection issues will disappear.

Some updates are better handled by Internet Explorer or the built-in updater, such as any updates from Microsoft's Windows Update or Office Update systems. (These systems are not compatible with other browsers.)
You can use the "all systems" page to download a full installer and then copy it over to your XP system.

  • Is there a problem with the Firefox synch server?

I have three installations of Firefox 4.0.1 on two machines (two fixed, one PortableApps). They are all set up to synchronise.
Since yesterday, all are showing an error at the bottom of the window saying "Sync encountered an error while connecting: Server incorrectly configured. Please try again."
I've made no configuration changes to the synch in the last few days, nor have I updated the Firefox version.
Is there a problem with the synch server?

  • Is there a problem with new Firefox and Gmail?

I cannot get Gmail to work consistently with new Firefox. sometimes it loads, sometimes it lets me enter my password details and then crashes; sometimes I can view my inboxes up until I select a message and then it crashes... I've submitted several crash reports already but not heard anything back as yet.

Thanks for replying. Only trouble is that the machines I'm having problems with already run the most up to date versions. In fact, by pure fluke, my wife's laptop which has automatic updates switched off is running FF 8.0.1 and this is the only way I can consistently access Gmail without crashing.
It runs XP if this information is useful.

  • Had nothing but problems with M-firefox 4-can we go back to 3?

We have experienced nothing but problems since we changed to mozilla firefox 4. We are not very computer literate+liked the basic style of FF 3. We would like to go back to FF 3-could we enlist your assistance?

    Credit Tony E
Firefox is highly customizable and you may be able to customize it to meet your needs.
If you do not like the new UI, you can make Firefox 4 look and behave more like Firefox 3.6, for details see http://www.computertechtips.net/64/make-firefox-4-look-like-ff-3-6
To downgrade to Firefox 3.6 first uninstall Firefox 4, but do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data". If you select that option it will delete your bookmarks, passwords and other user data. See https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Uninstalling+Firefox
You can then install the latest version of Firefox 3.6 available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html - it will automatically use
    your current bookmarks, passwords etc.
To avoid possible problems with downgrading, I recommend going to your profile folder and deleting the following files if they exist - extensions.cache, extensions.rdf, extensions.ini, extensions.sqlite and localstore.rdf. Deleting these files will force Firefox to rebuild the list of
installed extensions, checking their compatibility, and reset toolbar customizations.
For details of how to find your profile folder see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Profiles

  • Having problems with my Firefox toolbar.

Having problems with my google Firefox toolbar. Having problem sending and deleting using the tab. having problems accessing my calendar in new format. I am having problems modifying seachs in my google search engine

If you are are experiencing the same issue downloading something else then it is not a Firefox issue. Also, please have a look at the following as copied from another contributor.
A possible cause is security software (firewall,anti-virus) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.
    See:
    *https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Firewalls
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
