Problems with audio during video after itunes update

Recently updated to the new itunes and now there is no audio only during video playback. Tv shows and movies that previously played fine other than synchronization issues now have no audio. Help!

If you installed "dreamrecorder" on only one of your Mac laptops, you can use the other Mac to test your iSight to ensure it is functional. Try the suggestions in the " iSight: How to Troubleshoot" link there, too. Once you know that your External iSight is working correctly, you can concentrate on repairing the problem apparently caused by your "dreamrecorder" installation.
Third party applications can sometimes cause conflicts with iSight, especially if they are not installed or uninstalled properly.
Some applications provide "uninstallers" or specific instructions for all steps required to do a proper uninstall. If your "deinstalling" was accomplished by simply dragging such an application to the trash, some changes made when you installed the software may remain and be the cause of your problem. Check the Help or readme documentation for the "dreamrecorder" to be sure you uninstall correctly. Follow those instructions exactly.
You may need to reinstall the software to find the Help or readme info. If you do not want to reinstall to find the Help or readme files, or if they do not give you the help you need, you should be able to get the answers from the software developer's website. The developer may have FAQs, online documentation, or a support forum dedicated to his specific software. Many developers also offer technical support contact information to give you technical assistance by phone or email.
If none of those help you, the best suggestion I can offer for your "dreamrecorder" questions is a Google Search.

    I hope you can assist me on this.
    Yesterday, I downloaded the following automatic updates: iLife Support 9.0.4, Remote Desktop Client update 3.4, Mac OS X Update Combined 10.6.7, Airport Utility 5.5.2.
    After that, I could NO MORE watch live streaming channels. To be precise, l can properly hear the sound, but not see the video.
    I wish to underline the fact that before installing the automatic updates listed above, I had a clear sound and video of all live streaming sites.
    I downloaded the latest versions of JAVA and Flash, but unfortunately they didn't solve the problem.
    Therefore, I am quite sure the live streaming disfunction has to do with the system automatic updates. Is there any way to uninstall yesterday's updates without compromising the various softwares and OS performance?
    What else could be if not related to the system updates?

    I hadn't heard of gspot before.  I downloaded it and it looks like a nice, handy tool.  Thanks.
    After running it, I didn't see anything that caught my eye as unusual (corrupt file, unknown codec, etc.)  I have posted a screenshot at the following URL if you care to look.

    Now, let me add to the mystery.  I was just able to burn it without incident with Encore 1.5 and the same chapter mark locations.  There are only two things I can think of that would be possible causes.  1) something quirky about CS3, even though I've not had any prior problems in two years with it for my business OR 2) the file had become corrupted when moving from the capture computer (the older computer with 1.5) to the newer computer (with CS3).  As the file seems to be okay on the 2nd computer (plays fine in WMP and imports into both Premiere and Encore), I'm leaning toward #1.
    I have been able to successfully work around the problem to finish this job for the client, but I'd still like to know what's going on for future reference.  If anyone has other ideas, please let me know.

  • Got problems with creating RTF-files after OSX update

    I don't know if this is really a MAC OS problem, but it occurred after I updated to 10.5.2 - so it's a likely suspect.
    Since the update I can't create RTF-files any more with Final Draft, my script writing program. A file is created, but when I try to open it I get an error message that it cannot be found. But the file is there: I can see it and click on it. It just won't open.
    Only today now I got the same error message with a doc-file I downloaded some months ago.
    The only big change I lately made to my Mac was the update to 10.5.2 and I got the new Office 2008 (both are the German versions). Could the problem come from either of them? I contacted Final Draft's support - they didn't know of the problem.
    Maybe someone else in this forum has encountered similar problems?

    Have you tried to Repair Permissions using Disk Utility?
    1. Open Disk Utility in your Applications/Utility folder.
    2. Click on the icon for your boot volume.
    3. Click on the First Aid tab and select Repair Permissions
    4. Click the repair permissions button.
    This is the first thing to try whenever any program goes wonky. It's free, but takes awhile for all the files that have to be checked and changed.

  • Problems with 10.6.2 after security update

    Today I upgraded from the latest Leopard to Snow Leopard (bought the full box set). Backed up on Time Machine, repaired permissions, and booted from the OS 10.6.0 disk. Everything worked fine. Used Software Update to update to 10.6.2. No problems initially, but then noted I had no sound at all. Software Update had several more updates, including a Security Update,which I installed. When I went to reboot, I got stuck on a blue screen with a pointer on it. After 15 minutes, I turned off the computer with the power switch, then turned it back one. It got as far as the background image, but no menu bar (the Dock was present, but nothing would work). I shut it down again, booted from the install disk, used Disk Utility to repair both permissions AND the drive. Restarted computer again, got as far as the blue screen again. It seems like the problem is the Security Update. I'm now reinstalling the 10.6.0, and hoping it will work.
    Any advice? Anybody else had a bad experience like this? I haven't wasted this much time in YEARS.

    I went to the link, but it just doesn't seem pertinent. I'm going to bed while it finishes installing. Hopefully in the morning it'll work. If so, I'll pass on installing that "security update" again. NOW I think I remember reading that people have more problems with or after installing security updates. Could they be secretly developed by Bill Gates?
    I'm typing this from my wife's iMac G5 running Tiger, which works just fine (as did my iMac when it was running Leopard 10.5.8 (I think).

    Ok, If you haven't read my thread from before, I will give you a brief summary of my problem. I was putting videos on my iPod, only one had audio. The reason was that iTunes did not support MPEG-1 MPEG-2 in conversions.
    I was told by someone to get a converter to solve this problem and said they had used one that was quite nice but had to pay for it I believe, and so I have, here it is:

    It's free and fairly straight forward, click-drag, export to MPEG4, click iPod button and done. Then just drag the newly converted file into iTunes Library. You're all set! Hopefully this will be of some use to some people.

  • Problems with login on iPod after auto update of S...

    My father-in-law "V" uses Skype on iPod. Recently Skype auto-updated and "V" could no longer login into his account. I tried to help, sending his email on file to Skype and getting instructions on how to reset password. I suspected that he just forgot right spelling of his PW. Email came from Skype with instructions on resetting PW, but I noticed that Skype name mentined there is almost right. Almost is because it had extra "1" in the end, which "V" did not have. I had to delete and re-install Skype on his iPod to make it work. I tried to use his correct Skype name in Login space and new password, but it did not work. Then I used his name with extra"1" at the end as in Skype's email and newly changed PW. And it worked, but surely enough, all his contacts were gone.
    How can we restore his login to right name which he always used? This, I assume, would solve problem of vanished contacts. How come his Skype name suddenly changed without "V" himself doing that? 

    In reference to the linked article I already had the ipod options set to automatically update the podcasts for selected episodes. I just set it to manual and back to automatic, perhaps this will fix it. The mysterious podcasts playlist has appeared twice today for me so far.

  • Having problems with audio and video when exporting to quicktime

    I've exported a couple of keynote presentations to Quicktime and uploaded to youtube with no problems. I've now added a motion background in my intro, which looks great in keynote, but, it would appear that it causes problems. The mov file does play the animation, but, not as it was recorded, the audio then becomes out of sync and the advance on slides is all over the place with some not appearing. Is this a common problem? I am exporting at best quality and 1280 x 720, leaving all other settings as preset. I suspect that if I drop the background altogether it will work, but, it looks so great in keynote that'd be a shame. Any tips?

    I'm confused with the aspect ratio when I crop them i know I have to lock the aspect but should I keep it on Original? Also i'm wondering when it comes to export them what size should I be placing if I want to print all sizes.
    The crop aspect lock only comes into play while you are actively resizing the crop boundary. LR always works in a freehand manner, except that if the ratio is locked, adjusting the crop frame is allowed to alter its size and location and angle - but not its shape. If the ratio is not locked, you will be changing the crop shape freely if/when you drag the corner or edge handles around. The rest of the time, the lock makes no difference; and it is just as possible BTW to lock a random freehand aspect ratio, as it is to lock one of the standard preset ones.
    If you are uploading an exported copy for printing, you could simply upload a JPG made at the original resolution (as cropped for composition and angle) - that is, unchecking the whole resizing section of the Export dialog - and give the printer instructions as to how large the various prints are to be. Or I suppose, you could resize to the largest of the sizes that you require, but you will then need to negotiate a pixels-per-inch "resolution" setting that will be appropriate - since, when resizing to a page size, this figure governs the pixel content of the file produced.
    I would suggest that in the case of an export without resizing, where a generous quantity of pixels are included for the sorts of page sizes mentioned, you will likely not see any discernible printed benefit from setting the highest JPG quality setting for your export, but will be fine with around quality 6 to 8 - which brings the file sizes down significantly. Most often, printing services will presume that you have selected sRGB colourspace for your export, unless something different has been pre-agreed.

    I recently updated the iOS to the latest version and it wiped out my custom ringtones.
    I resynced them but it only loaded three onto my phone.
    I then tried to delete them but when I synced again they were still there.
    I manually deleted the ringtones folder on the phone using ifunbox and they finally were deleted.
    Then when I tried to syc my ringtones back it only synced three (different three).
    Dragging and dropping isn't doing anything.

    Hello is anyone from Adobe out there? Is anyone from Adobe monitoring the forum? The 1.6 update has stopped the app from crashing when you were trying the sync function to the creative cloud.
    However, the sync function is not working as it did in the past. If you make a change in an already existing file in the Photoshop touch app and save it, the sync to the creative cloud results in an explanation point instead of a check to the left of the filename. Toggling the sync button on and off doesn't change the exclamation point to a check. The blue line goes across the file as it normally would when syncing but the explanation point remains. As a result, the changed file is not being synced with the creative cloud.
    I am not sure of the exact amount of time it takes, I am guessing about 24 hours. After about 24 hours when you do a sync, the file that had the explanation point to the left of it does change to a checkmark. However, you now have two files. One that reflects the change and has the word conflicted now added to the file name. As well as a file with the same name that doesn't reflect the change and no conflicted added to its file name.
    For me at least the sync function no longer causes the Photoshop touch app to crash. However, the 1.6 update also doesn't sync properly to the creative cloud.
    Making a change to a file in the Photoshop touch app and trying to sync it shouldn't result in the file not being synced or in a conflicted file. Could someone please help me in regard to this issue.

  • Help! Problem with Aperture referenced photos after I updated to iPhoto 09

    I updated my iPhoto library to iPhoto 09. Then I rebuilt my Aperture 2.1.4 Library.
    In Aperture, when I try to edit a referenced photo imported from iPhoto, it cannot be found because it is on an unmounted volume. It is conceivable that I previously moved the original iPhoto Library to "Backup" drive – the one the referenced image is pointing to according to Aperture, then copied it to "Sally" drive – the one that iPhoto has no trouble finding, but Aperture is not pointing to.
    I thought I could "manage" the referenced files and point Aperture to the correct folder within the iPhoto library – I can navigate to the folder and file, but the "Reconnect" and "reconnect All" buttons are disabled.
    Does anyone have any idea how to get Aperture to reconnect to the iPhoto library? I hope I don't have to re-import the library into Aperture - that would be a nightmare!

    I imported my iPhoto 08 Library a while ago, using the Aperture Import iPhoto tool, choosing to "Store files in their current location" (the iPhoto Library, on Sally drive).
    Much later, I had to re-jig my hard drives, renaming "Sally" to "Backup" and "Backup" to "Sally".
    The iPhoto Library is on the new Sally drive and iPhoto has no trouble accessing it.
    Aperture thinks the iPhoto Library is on Backup drive (which used to be called Sally). I'd like to get Aperture pointing to the iPhoto Library on Sally.
    Sorry about the Sally/Backup madness, I thought I'd be detail things as much as I can.

    Now I have upgraded to Maverick (among other minor things) my Magic Mouse scroll often doesnt work unless I close the application it stopped working in and open it again.
    Has anyone else had this issue? Is there a fix? was there any worthwhile reason to update?

  • Problems with audio programs after update to Maverics

    After updating to Mavericks on my Mac Mini there is problem with audio programs. I cant open iTunes at all, I click it and it disappear in a second. Also when I press play in GuitarPro 6 or in Vox player nothing happens. It just wont start playing. I really dont like this update.. and my mac is slower now. I cant downgrade my system back so this is really frustrating to me as a musician.

    I have the same problem with my Conceptronic CH3HNAS and have found a free and easy solution.
    Since a lot of people report they are able to access their NAS using apps other than the Finder itself, I decided to look for a free Lion-compatible File Manager to use instead of Finder.
    I have found muCommander ( http://www.mucommander.com/ ) and indeed it works fine. All I did was click on the button highlighted bellow, go to "bonjour services" and select my NAS. It prompted me for my username and password and voilá, it works fine.
    I keep Finder for everyday use and just load muCommander when I want to access the NAS. At least now I don't have to start my WinXP VM anymore just to access it.

    As for question #2, you call tell how iTunes is sorting songs by the up or down arrow next to a header name.
    Even the original order that the songs were entered or date added or last played can be sorted.
    Much easier with a mouse or touch pad.

    Sorry for the late reply. My email firewall has become a little over zealous & sent a lot of my emails straight to my junk email folder, so I have only just now discovered your reply in my junk mail folder.
    The only "don't open files exceeding xxx megabytes" instruction I can find in my Prefs, is in the Bridge Prefs for Thumbnails, & mine is set at 1000mb. The biggest files I handle are bigger than 200mb so I should be able to open a few, not just one.
    However, this doesn't explain why I can open a psd format file of 180mb, close it, but then can't open a RAW format file of only 26mb immediately after.
    I can open the RAW file only if I restart my computer - very annoying!
    However, thanks for the advice about the video card & memory.
    So, I'm still stuck as to what the issue is.

    Hi, In QM i am trying to copy inspection results.  For that all required customizations maintained, but still copy inspection results option is not coming in EDIT tab of QE01 transaction. I have cheked the pf status for the same it is E110 and main p
