Problems with authorizing my computer

I authorized my new computer, but every time I try to play a song purchased with an old account, it tells me I need to authorize this computer. But when I type in my username and password, nothing happens. Then I try to go to Store, authorize this computer, and the prompt tells me this computer is already authorized!!!
Its very frustrating, and I've got about 1000 songs I can't play!
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hopefully someone will answer soon. I am also having an issue with a song I just recently purchased.
I purchased the song on my iPhone, iTunes automatically downloaded the song when I started iTunes. Tried playing the song withing iTunes and it says this computer is not Authorized to play this song. Then prompts me to log in and nothing happens.

    Thank you for the link but I have already had this page provided to me by my school. Nevertheless, I followed your advise, downloaded the latest version once again and restarted my computer. Again, I am not able to get my computer authorised, with or without an ID. I get either of the two messages : 1) Microsoft tells me there is a problem with my computer. 2) Adobe tells me I have no internet access and in order to proceed I should gain internet access.
    That is the reason why I have today purchased an AVG software. I have additionally purchased the service of having the AVG software installed on my computer by an AVG representative remotely by allowing him temporary access to my laptop. Subsequently he installed the software successfully, run all necessary checks, optimised my computer and there are currently no problems with it whatsoever.  
    I have then asked him for this additional favour to watch me trying to download the e-book using your software, just in case I am doing something incorrectly. He agreed and upon my attempting to download the e-book again, the same problems occurred. He followed the steps himself - again no joy. He then advised me to ask Adobe for help. In his opinion the program Adobe stops responding and there is nothing more he could do to help me. I had his reassurances that my computer is in full working order and the problem does not lie here.
    I am back to you asking you for help. I am attaching here photos of the two messages that keeping popping up whenever I try to download the e-book.
    Is there anything at all you can do to help me? I quite need this e-book for my exam which is fast approaching. I would be really grateful if you could sort something out...

    It's not possible to authorize a new computer with your iPhone. Only from the computer.
    Launch iTunes. From the iTunes menu bar click Store > Authorize This Computer

    If Mende 1's suggestion doesn't solve it you might find the following useful:
    I would first reset the SMC:
    Shut down and unplug the Mac.
    Keep the Mac unplugged for at least fifteen seconds.
    Plug the Mac back in and do not turn it back on for at least five seconds.
    Press the power button to turn the Mac back on.
    Then I would reset the PRAM by rebooting the iMac while simultaneously holding the Command-Option-P-R keys until the machine restarts a second time.

    I'm also having the same problem. They started after I replaced a hard disk.
    i-tunes wants authorization and gets...tells me the computer is already authorized and refuses to recognize the phone. If I run the sync it cleans out all of the apps from the phone and wont send any to the phone.

  • More Problems with my new computer

    Well I'm beginning to think this new machine is acting very much like what happened back in 1996-97 when I rebuilt a Packard Bell Legend 1956 only to have the computer croak better than either a frog or my cartoon namesake on "South Park" because the recovery disk didn't recognize the new componentry.
    after I thought I revived it with this forum's assistance. after 5 days it started acting up with "turn off computer" icon going AWOL. since I didn't have a backup I went to system restore which promptly froze midway thru the process.
    so what I did was to take out my Digital Lifeguard software and try and reconfigure the I:\ drive to a C:\
    eventually it said that Windows couldn't start because it needed a pci driver.
    so on July 5th a technician showed up & it came back.
    now on the 11th when I started it up. & changed the secondary drive to a C:\
    so now I figured why not reformat the I:\ & and put XP Pro on the C:\ so my programs won't start a revolt
    especially since I only had 1 day left before activation.
    Now the computer is in an infinite loop saying that Windows cannot install because the hard drives are not available to install the temp files.
    by thw way the chip head was wondering why both of the optical drives were on the master cable & the HD's were on the slave. he also warned me that this computer's configuration was problemaic and I will have errors.
    I wanted this type of computer because I wanted to know what was the differences between an OEM & a custom built especially since they recovered quite differently as well.
    In retrospect, I think I would've did much better with another OEM because I would've had recovery CD's/DVD's
    and for 1 year tech support would've help me thru the transition from the old one to the new.
    I've been reading the manual to this motherboard trying to figure out how to not send this computer into orbit along with the shuttle! & wasting $1600. so far nary a clue could be discerned.
    the builder says that I shouldn't of tinkered with it and run the computer as he built it but the way I see it 1. If I didn't tinkered I would not be advancing my computing frontiers. 2. I would be a hostage to the builder & that is unacceptable because I would rather try & solve this myself than either pay good money waiting for somebody to fix it.

    & I plan to use both of the Hard Drives meaning RAID 0.
    and the 11-1 card reader is an ATF Pro 9 model
    in addition my Power supply is a 450 watt Xion model with 18 Amps at +12v

    Last night when I attempted to solve this I got this at the end of the startup process
    "Windows XP Professional Setup"
    "Windows cannot find the temporary installation files"
    "The Hard Drive on which Setup placed temporary files is not currently available to Windows XP.
    You may need a manufacturer supplied device driver or you may need to run setup again and select a drive that is compatible with Windows XP for the temporary installation files.
    See your Windows XP documentation for more information.
    On x86 based computers, floopy disks generated by setup for non CD installations are not suitable for installing from CD
    Setup cannot continue. To quit press F3
    then a 2nd screen with a red progress meter appears saying that the computer will reboot in 15 seconds then it reboots with the same message going in an infinite loop.
    what does this mean?
    also I think one of the reasons why I'm having this problem is that not only are the two optical drives are are on the Primary Master & Slave channel
    but the BIOS indicates that there are 3 more Master\Slave channels as well and the HD's are on the 3rd one
    again I truly appreciate this forum trying to be the Tech support that I'm not getting with the builder.
    I'm truly sorry about this as well but at least I'm learning in the same way that I did with the other computers I've had since 1994.

  • Problems with "Author once" workflow, can't transcode HDV to BD and DVD

    Adobe claims that with Encore CS3 you can
    "author once, deliver to three formats" -- Blu-ray, DVD and Flash. I have been doing some research and testing, but have not been able to get it to work.
    It seems as though Encore is not capable of taking HDV 1080i60 footage and transcoding it for both Blu-ray and DVD. The Blu-ray looks great, but the downconverted transcode for DVD is completely unusable.

    I have seen some pretty pathetic downconversions from HDV to DV resolution, but this is the most creatively useless one I've come across so far.
    I have been able to use Dynamic Link to get an almost acceptable "author once" workflow from HDV footage. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find a way to get Encore or After Effects to render fields for the DVD transcode, so fast-moving graphic elements and text have jerky/strobing motion.
    FYI, I got Dynamic Link working well for non-fast clips by doing the following:
    Make sure that "Separate Fields" was set to "Upper" in "Interpret Footage" for the HDV clip.
    Set the clip's frame blending mode to "Frame Mix" ("Pixel Motion" works, just take longer).
    Enable Frame Blending for the comp.
    (Enable Motion Blur for the comp if any layers are using Motion Blur).
    If only there were a button to enable field rendering for the comp along with Frame Blending and Motion Blur, as both of those options directly affect how the Dynamic Link renders/transcodes in Encore.
    I noticed that without Frame Blending enabled for both the clip and the comp, the motion in the transcode was very jerky, even though the clip had not been time stretched/remapped.
    Does anyone know of some way to get the mythical "author once" workflow to work? Perhaps it's only for progressive workflows and not interlaced? Could this be a Mac-related problem (I have not been able to test on Windows)?
    I know I can downconvert first, then import into Encore, and that does work fine, but that completely negates the wonderful concept of "author once".
    Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

    Gspot showed there was a problem with the file. What it said was of the 130K frames, most were not needed. I went back to the editor and reconstructed the 130K file. Had problems trying to export to M2v. PPro 2.0 would freeze every time, sometimes in a few minutes, sometimes just short of completing, approx 2 hours(this was a 2 pass vbr setup). I experienced problems just trying to make an AVI file for importing into Encore 2.0. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since I first started this journey(over 300 hours). My first shot at elation occurred when I decided to try an m2v at vbr 1 pass instead of 2 pass. It worked. I say this because of late I have successfully made an Avi file, Imported the timeline and in fact satisfactorily made an m2v file (2 pass). The m2v was also brought into Encore 2.0. Though I have 4 HD's, it seems to me that as I am moving toward a successful product, I'm finding that I've located all my assets on one HD. Is this the way to go? I'd like to thank the alert for using Gspot. And I will, always. I believe that if I had used Gspot earlier I would not have been trying to fix the problem using a bad asset.
    I've been able to make an iso file, though having trouble making a playable disc.

    was successful. However, when i try to run the FM CO_RI_CONFIRMATION_CREATE (use to create order confirmation), the exact same code is run and when i reach the above authority-check, it fails even if all the variable passed to the check is the same.
    How can this happen? I need some help. Very urgent.

    Check the values of TMP_ACTVT and ACT_AUTYP for both the cases.
    May be they are different.

  • Anticipating a problem with authorizing a device

    .Because I didn't deregister readers that I had to return to the manufacturer.........I am concerned that I am going to show up as having too many devices when my new reader arrives.  This will either give me a total of either 6 or 7 devices.  The fact is ...that when all is said and done I will only have 2.  However, I am concerned that because I didn't "de-register" the devices before returning them I am going to have a problem when my new Color Nook arrives on Thursday.
    Am I misunderstanding how this all works.
    What do I do to clear the returned devices that were authorized before?

    You are allowed to have 6 reading devices with ADE.  I have returned 3 to the manufacturers after authorizing them.  I didn't realize that I was supposed to deauthorize them.  I don't have access to the 3 devices that I returned.  I have a 4th device registered that I am now using. It works just fine.  I am expecting device #5 to arrive in two days.
    How do I delete the registrations for the 3 devices that have been returned?  My computer and ADE work just fine.  My problem is that I have 3 reading devices registered to my account...and................................I don't have these particular ebook readers anymore.  I will need to clear these 3 from my account if my spouse wants to share my account with me.

  • With conversion to Leopard, file problems with networked Windows computer

    Last night I did an Archive & Install from Tiger to Leopard on my Intel MacBook Pro. Today, I had trouble finding the other computers at my office. Once I finally got them to show up, I opened a Word file found on another computer, made some changes, and when I tried to save it, I got this message: "This is not a valid file name. Try one or more of the following: *Check the path to make sure it was typed correctly. *Select a file from the list of files and folders." Since this file already existed and I wasn't changing the name, I thought this was odd, but I changed the name from "Seating Chart 3-8-08" to "SeatingChart3-8-08" in case Leopard didn't like spaces when talking to Windows, but I got the same error message. Finally I gave up, not knowing what to do, then discovered that it had in fact saved my file. Still, every time I try to save ANY Word document from the shared folder of the Windows computer, I get the same error message endlessly until I choose "Don't Save."
    When I try to open an Excel file from that computer, it won't even open; it says " 'File Name.xls' cannot be accessed. This file may be Read-Only, or you may be trying to access a Read-Only location. Or, the server the document is stored on may not be responding." As with the Word file problem above, I did not have any problem accessing the files until I converted to Leopard.
    The Windows machine is Windows XP using Microsoft Office 2003; I have Microsoft Office 2004 on my machine.

  • Problem with showing My Computer in Bridge

    Just upgraded PS CS4 to CS5.  When I click on the favorites or the Folders tabs in Bridge and select My Computer, the program displays the drives and then starts adding My Documents over an over without stopping...after 1 minute I had >50 icons for My Computer.  It was annoying because it kept displacing the drives to the right as it inserted a new My Doc icon, and I couldn't catch the icon for the other drives to open them!
    In Minibridge, it displays just three duplicate My Documents icons???
    Anyone have an inkling as to what might be happening here, or how to prevent it?

  • Problems with my new computer

    I got my computer less then a month ago and its been working fine until a couple days ago.. the only upgrade i did was right in the beginning and I added a gig of memory. I have been using the computer for internet and gaming.. I have been playing Call of Duty 2 with no problems since I got the computer and I got an error a couple days ago during gameplay which caused everything to quit working including my dock.. I re-installed osx and still the game would not work and kept giving me the same problems.. I called mac.. they helped me delete my drive and re install again... I played the game fine for a few minuts.. and then it gave me the error.. I was able to restart the game and when i zoom in with the scope on the gun.. the picture quality gets really crappy.. Then I tried playing quake 4 and it froze the computer.. I ran the disk utility and it was fine so I ran the hardware tester and it gave me the error... 4MEM/1/40000000: 0x5df44c10 and I have no idea what to do? i'm new to mac so I dont know anything about them.. and I guess the phone lines are not always open.. anyone ever had a similar issue? thanks..

    yeah, I grounded it and everything.. it worked fine for a little under a month.. so I don't know what the problem was with it, but its not giving me hardware errors after I took it out.. I bought it online.. so i'm going to have to check and see what the warrenty is on it.. I paid half of what apple charges.. guess you get what you pay for lol.

    I can't buy any songs or play some songs because my iTunes is telling me that my computer needs to be authorized. When I authorize it, it says "There was an error storing your authorization information on this computer. The required directory was not found or has a permission error. Correct this permissions problem and try again, or deauthroize this computer if the permissions cannot be changed." It says the same thing when I try to deauthorize it. I have no idea what to do! HELP!!

    I figured it out on my own. I'd forgotten that my mother changed the account email addy, and I was changing it to the current one, which did nothing, as the songs were purchased on a second accout. Thanks anyway to anyone who considered rplying =)
