Problems with border on a delayed video

hi,
I am working on a G4, and with final cut hd 4.5
When i have a video, and i reduced the speed to 0 (still), and i want to place a border on the video, I get een unkown error. That only happens when I want to change the color or an other parameter. When i close and reopen the window I can use it again.
Does anybody knows where this error comes from? Is it a memory problem? I've check all my settings, but that seems to be fine..
hope someone can read this bad dutch - english and that you can help me

I have not encountered this problem. I would recommend using the "create freeze frame" function rather than lowering the speed to zero and see if that doesn't solve the problem...

When i open iTunes i recieve a message saying "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration, audion/video playback may no operate properly." iTunes opens fine after i click ok on the message. However when i push play to hear a song nothing happens, the time for the song remains at zero's.

This error can be caused by a bad installation of QuickTime. Remove iTunes and QuickTime, and reinstall iTunes (which will reinstall QuickTime). You can find the steps to remove and reinstall near the bottom of this article in the Apple knowledege base.

HAving problem with this HP Desktop no video

Ok here is the computer that was purchased HP Debranded TS-0006P-AMDX605. It was bought from newegg, and here is the product page. http://www.neweggbusiness.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883148037
Operating system is windows 7 home premium 64bit
Now when I first got this computer it would not turn on. I procedded to take memory out and put back in and then I got video.
Everything went smooth until I upgraded the memory. Purchase an extra one gigabyte and when I first plugged it in no video.

that i figuredout why there was no video. Once i placed the memory chips in the right slots it started up with no problems.
Now this computer was for a friend who was elderly, did not have that much money, and did not understand computers too much. Whenthis computer is on it runs great and he loves it.
Now here is the problem, he would go to turn it on via the power button, and it would not send video to the monitor, he would then hold the power button for about 5 seconds to shut it down, the try again. It would take him about five tries to get it to come on.
I figured it might be the memory, so i went to his house and took out the memory. Seemed to work ok. Now he is having those problems again, where sometimes when he goes to turn it on, it just does not send any power to the monitor.
Now what I told him to do was, to turn the computer on in the morning and leave it on. Just let the monitor go to sleep. When he is done with the computer in the vening, just turn it off. Now this is working for him, but this should not be happening.
His symptoms are that SOMETIMES when he turns the computer on there is no video signal sent to the monitor.
Please does anyone have a solution, or tell me what to check. I have already put another brand new power supply in which did not fix the problem. Also removed the extra memory that was purchased seperately. Still same issues.

How many GB of ram, and how many slots did the computer come with and were the ram chips the same brand? Say you have 2 ram chips, one has 1 gb and the other has 2gb. Most of the time you wont have a problem but putting equal amounts of ram in each slot is the best thing to do, otherwise your computer could start acting funny. Also never mix different brands of ram chips together. . What I would do is put one chip in the computer and see how it runs. If you still have a problem then swap it out with another. If you still have a problem after only putting one chip in than the ram is not the problem. Coould be a faulty video card and it could be going out on you. Could be a number of things really, but its a process of elimination. Try hooking it up to a different monitor. Let me know.

I haven't used itunes here much just been playing the songs I had on it. Now i downloaded some more songs i plugged in my Ipod touch and it's not showing up and giving me the message above (Itunes has detected a problem with you audio configuration. Audio/video playback may not operate properly. I uninstalled Itunes and quicktime restarted computer and still the same thing. What is going on?

In order to help figure out your problem, could you please let us know:
* Site url of your game
* Your Android phone model (e.g. Nexus 5, Samsung S5)
* Your Android OS version (e.g. 4.1 kitkat, 4.2 kitkat, 2.3 gingerbread etc)
Bear in mind that Flash player is no longer officially supported for Android other than security fixes; so flash player is stuck on version 11 which means any games or websites that require flash player > version 11 probably will never work.

PP CS4 Problem with exported H.264 .mp4 video. Can't AME do proper encoding?

Trying to export a Video of ~60mins using the H.264 Codec .mp4 which converts in AME successfully, allthough when playing back the f
ile, it has problems after ~40mins. When i try to jump to a later point in the timeline to playback i.e. 48th minute or 50:10 or wha
tever, the image freezes, audio continues and it takes 10-20 secs untill the video image continues.
I tried different playback programms like VLC,Windows media etc. and different compressions 2-5Mbps as CBR and VBR1 / 2, nothing cha
nged.
Source is Sony DV and i have some still images as .png. Since the first 30mins work alright, i thought i try out if something with t
he source material in the timeline is causing the problem , so i cut after the 30st minute and copied the first 30mins behind that
to get a 60mins video, but exaclty the same playback issue after ~40th minute.
Is this an most likely a problem caused by AME using H.264 .mp4 Codec?
Other videos i did months before in the same way using the same source material worked fine. Adobe Premiere and AME is up to date!

hmn sounds like it makes sense. I have seen that "i-Frame in GOP" somewhere in PP i think.
Allthough i recall that i had videos i exported which played fine till the end with no delay at a later seek distance.
I noticed that quicktime player has the same issue but is much quicker than VLC.
Is there a work arround or alternative? Can it be improved?

The only thing which looks strange to me ist that the lenght of the delay showing the images (i guess finding it) takes almost the same time
as on other later point like at the very end. Id assume that if its normal behavior the delay should become bigger and bigger with a later point in time ?

Weird audio problems with Motion when exporting quicktime videos

I have a Motion project with 2 video clips of people talking. When I create a RAM preview everything plays back fine. When I export a quicktime, the first second or so of each video clip (within the quicktime) have no audio. I've adjusted the in and out of each clip in Motion but I don't think that would make the audio disappear on export. Thinking it was just a bad export, I tried just exporting the audio and the same thing happens.
Here's what i'm using:
Mac Pro dual 3.0 Xeon
10 gigs of RAM
Motion 2.1.2

hi,
motion 2 had some odd audio problems that surfaced now and then. The only way round it was to bring the clip into FCP and edit the audio in there, and then export from fcp.
Motion 3 might have fixed this. Not sure havent had the problem for some time, since I make sure all finnishing is done in FCP.

Problems with a Published PDF audio/video that runs out of synch

Hi,
I have a large (30minute) video, with a combination of audio, flash videos with and without embedded music, and screens.
I published the captivate project to PDF, and then ran it using Abode Reader X and Flashplayer 11.01.
It played fine.
However, I am getting feedback from various people that when they try and run the video, the initial embedded flv file (with music) starts off and then suddenly the entire PDF file goes wild displaying screens in 1 second intervals in no apparent pattern with the music from the embedded flv file still playing in the background, eventually the voice over starts but obviously out of synch as the slides still appear in these 1 second intervals.
I ran a few tests to see if this strange behaviour had anything to do with the Adobe Reader or Flash Player installed, but there seems to be no pattern.
I even upgraded one system to Adobe Reader X and Flashplayer 11 but still experienced this same problem.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this might be happening for some users and not for all? Or what other settings I might try looking at to solve the problem?

Problems with Instant start of QT video placed on iWeb site

I'm trying to use video on my .mac web site using iWeb but have been unable to export a file that will start immediately when the page launches. I have gone through a check list of all the things I've read on this group and others, but the only way these files will play on the web is by manually pressing the start button below the quick time file. I get the big blue Q for just a second and then the first frame of the video, I can then press the play button and it will start and continue to play without any problems, but it just won't start by itself.
So far I have:
exported the file in Quicktime Pro 7.16 using H.264 encoding
checked off the "prepare for Internet Streaming" box
Once the file is exported I have also opened it in Quicktime Pro, and in the Window menu gone to "show movie properties" and checked off the "Automatically play movie when opened" box under the presentation tab.
I've saved this file in the movie folder on my mac.
In iWeb, i've dragge this movie to my page and published it.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had success getting their movies to play automatically in iWeb. I wouldn't even mind if I had to wait a few seconds in order for the file to load the cache a bit --- but it won't play at all unless you click on the play triangle in the movie controller.

The default iWeb export uses autoplay="false" in the .js file it creates.
This means a page visitor must press the "play" button on the QuickTime controller to initiate playback (even though your file is downloading in the background).
If you're brave enough to try you can edit the javascript file (.js) made by iWeb and simply change "false" to "true".
This edit can be made with any plain text editor (TextEdit set to "plain text").
Open your iDisk/Web/iWeb folder and find your page (name of folder). Inside it (blah_files folder) you'll find a .js file that you can open with a right click (choose TextEdit). In all of the gobbly gook you see is a line that says autoplay="false". Change it to "true" (must keep the "" around the word) and "Save".
Try your page again and see if it now starts playing as it downloads.

Problem with adding voice track to video podcast

I am working on a video podcast,adn to my horror, if I add extra voice tracks to the imported movie, the frame freezes on whatever was showing when my V/O began. Can this be corrected? another problem, is that the m4v file will not open in Quicktime pro but will open in VLC...

It appears that the Amplitude of the two Audio Clips differ. When you play the Timeline with the Audio Mixer open, do those two Audio Clips show the same Levels, on the VU Meters?
To expand the upper Audio Clip, you can go to the Audio Track Header, and hover the Cursor along that line between the Audio & Video. When the Cursor changes to an equal sign with up/down arrows, click+drag up, to zoom vertically, until the Waveform of that Clip expands, to see it more clearly. Finding that exact spot, where the Cursor changes can take some hovering, but when you see the Cursor change, you know that you are there.

Problem with merging incmoing audio and video source

I am trying to record incoming audio and video data but i ran into a weird problem. The datasources merged fine but during playback of the recorded file the video sometimes turns white while audio still goes. For example, if the audio duration is 10 mins , the file length will be 10 mins but the video shows only like 2 mins and then the rest of file is white with sound in background. i am not sure why its happening... i also tried merging the files after recording audio and video individually but still no\ luck. does anyone know why this is happening? thanks

to other side I am setting SendStream's setSourceDescription with my own name for CNAME . On reciving side some time i am getting correct CNAME which i set to SourceDescription ,but some time it gives default CNAME which is username@computername in steed of giving CNAME set to my name .
Can you help me to solve this problem

Problems with opening apps and playing videos

This may seem long but I'm only trying to state all the facts so I don't miss anything that someone can help me with
PLEASE HELP ME!!
About a month ago I got a new ipod touch, with the 2.1.1 or whatever software. I haven't upgraded it.
I first spent hours putting music on, then added applications.
Both music and applications worked.
Then I put on a movie and 5 music videos.
The videos/movie all worked but the apps wouldn't open.
I checked online for app upgrades, none available.
I tried deleting the apps from both the ipod and my itunes, then rebought them and replaced them on my ipod. Didn't work.
Music still worked. Then the videos stopped working. No videos/no apps.
Then I tried restoring, all that jazz that these forums recommended. I restored to factory settings, nothing seemed to work until I erased everything (somewhere in settings on the ipod it says you can erase the drive and it takes about an hour) and after that, started over.
Put the music on, worked.
Put the apps on first, they worked.
Put the videos on, they worked.
Didn't turn the ipod off for three weeks in fear that if I had to restart it, nothing would work again.
Tried to add another app AFTER the movies were the last thing I added, and when the app wouldn't work, I deleted it from both the ipod and my itunes.
Then I tried to start the other apps, they work.
PROBLEM is that my movies/videos don't work now! It says "Cannot play this video."
What the ****. I read before something about the mpeg4 format of movies not allowing apps to open up, but this time I tried to add an app and it wouldn't play the movie. I guess a lot of people are having this problem? Anyone have any new suggestions before I have to erase EVERYTHING, AGAIN from my ipod??

Hi, here's an update I just posted on another thread on the same issue:
Okay, update from my end.
I did a restore of my Touch. When I restored, I had the choice of "set up as new iPod" or restore from my old iPod Touch. When I clicked on my old iPod name, and hit the scroll arrow to the side, it opened and there were 4 options; previous back ups. I chose my iPod name from August 8, 2009 and restored using that.
After the restore, sync, etc., all music videos & apps are reloaded, working, and my software is 3.1.2.
So, I can't say why the apps & videos wouldn't open after working for several months, but as others have suggested, try restore. However, when given the choice to "set up as new iPod" in iTunes or restore to your previous, click on the scroll where your old iPod is listed, see how many you may have in the history, and pick one a couple months back.
Hopefully this will help some of you out there.

Latest Flash Player 11 gives problems with IE 9 on all videos HELP!!!

I just downloaded the latest version of Flash Player to correct the problem of getting a dialog box before and sometimes after videos play on Internet Explorer 9 . The box pops up with items listed and has 2 options listed at the bottom either : Dismiss All , or : Continue and when I press: Dismiss All the box goes away. What can I do to fix this so I don't have to deal with these boxes all the time?

I believe you have outdated "drivers".
I don't know much about Flash but I used to see those Dismiss All alerts on every video too.
I tried the troubleshooting page recommended here but nothing worked to fix the issues I had ie: freezing of the entire computer.
The Dismiss All box was just a minor added annoyance.
One step in the troubleshooting led me to Update Drivers in Control Panel/ Devices/Properties etc.
But that led to a dead end as "all drivers are up to date and the device is working properly".
I knew that wasn't true, but when Adobe recomends that step and Windows tell you this, there is a tendency to rely on it.
It turned out that Windows does not check for current updates often, if at all.
I found a utility called DriverMax which is a free service if you download 2 drivers per day.
It found 7 recommended driver updates for my 2 year old Toshiba laptop.
I was able to install 5 of them and the improvement was immediate and dramatic.
Windows is smoother and faster.
Videos never freeze.
And I just realized, reading your post, that the Dismiss All dialog box has not reappeared.
