Problems with carbon copy

Hi, I have an end user who is sending emails and she is Ccing them to somebody else as well. The original person (the one who's address is in the to box) gets the email but the person who she Cc'd it to isn't receiving it. I checked both of their Outlook
accounts and made sure they didn't have any rules preventing it. It was working with them last week and all of a sudden this week it isn't going through. Is there something else I can check to find out what the problem might be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi acurylo98,
Have you found anything from the logs?

  • My mac mini does not boot, after backing the enire system onto an external drive with Carbon Copy Clone

    My Mac Mini does not boot, after backing the enire system onto an external drive with Carbon Copy Clone. I had switched the start-up disk back to the original of course. Now all I see is the Apple logo. What should I do? Thanks in advance.

    Try disconnecting any external devices, especially hard drives
    and try rebooting.
    If that doesn't help, then :
    If you are running Lion, boot to the Recovery HD and run a
    Repair Disk on the OSX partition.
    If Snow Leopard, boot to the installl DVD and run Repair Disk.

  • Sparse disk, with elastic dinamic capacity, works only if made with carbon copy

    I  am trying to create a sparse image disk to put unlimitlessly all projects from final cut pro, when i create it with carbon copy cloner I achieve my goal but i cant obtain same result with utility disk, why, it seems I use same setting

    Without details, it's anyone's guess what your problem might be. Post the Disk Utility steps or the diskutil commands and maybe someone can help.

  • Problems with our copy of Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional.

    We have two problems with our copy of Adobe Acrobat proffesional which we have recently re installed back on the same PC following so we thought the relevant transfer activation instructions.
    The first is that when we first start the program with no file loaded Both Transfer Activation and Activate Acrobat are greyout out.   This in tiself is not a problem but it may have a bearing on our real problem.
    We have for a few years used Acrobat Proffesional successfully to sign released drawing files which have been 'printed' to a PDF file by a third party printer driver.   Recently though when we try to load any of this type of file the Acrobat menu stays greyed out and both Adobe Acrobat and the PDF file are listed in Windows task manager.  Acrobat is completely locked up and has to be exited via task manager.   If I load PDF files from other sources the abot symptoms accur only briefly then the program menus re activate and the PDF file disappears from task manager.  It is as thought our PDF drawing files are failing to complete loading.
    Does anyone know how I can find out if our copy of Adobe Acrobat Pro 7.0 is actually activated?
    Does anyone know what might have started to prevent out drawing files from loading.
    Thanks
    Chris

    Good point but this one does require activation.
    Our real issue is that if we load one of our own drawing filkes, even one previously edited or signed with no problems it now completely locks up Adobe acrobat and we cannot do anything at all in Acrobat.

  • Cloning with Carbon Copy

    Don't know if there is a better forum for this one. If you can refer me would appreciate it.
    I want to reformat my main HD because of an unrepairable disk error when I try to do disk repair using Disk Utility while booted from an external HD. I am guessing that this is the source of a problem in trying reinstall OSX with Archive on my main HD. I kept getting a message that the disk was damaged. So, I used Carbon Copy Cloner to duplicate the disk to my second HD (SATA). CCC hung at the message "establishing Darwin links". After 3 hours, I forced quit, but my G5 boots nicely from the system on the second disk. Everything appears to be fine so I am ready to wipe out the original HD. Does any one know if the hang up at establishing the Darwin links is a problem with CCC?
    Thanks in advance...

  • Can I Use Time Machine With Carbon Copy Cloner?

    As of today, I upgraded my iMac (and eventually my Macbook) to Snow Leopard. I used Carbon Copy Cloner to create a clone of my drive to my external (I did a clean install) and now that Snow Leopard is installed, I only want to put back on to my computer just certain files, such as a select selection of my documents, some of my iTunes library, etc. Given that I couldn't find that option in Migration Assistant, I just manually copied over what I wanted from the clone on my external.
    Still, I would like to keep a daily backup for my iMac's HD and that's where Time Machine comes in, but there's some questions I have before I do it:
    Given that my iMac's HD now has significant free space (as I only brought back, say, 10% of the stuff to my iMac from my external when I cloned on CCC), if I enabled Time Machine to back up my iMac's HD stuff, it wouldn't overwrite the 90% of stuff on my external with the 10% that's on my iMac's HD, would it? For instance, I have about 20,000 songs on my external drive, but maybe have brought back only, say, 5,000 to my iMac (for now). Given that my iMac's iTunes Music folder shows 5,000 songs on it, when TM backs that up to my external drive, it won't overwrite the other iTunes Music folder which has the other 15,000, right? The same thing could be applied for documents, photos, etc. If not, how would TM deal with that? I would hope to avoid the other extreme, which are duplicate files/folders.
    I guess I just want to be able to have the ability to get into that cloned drive on my external if I need to add more stuff to the iMac or if I need it one day to boot up the machine. But I also want to be able to have Time Machine at hand to back up daily the little that is on my iMac right now. So I suppose I'm wondering how can I achieve this without the two conflicting or screwing up?
    Thanks!

    Correct. Time Machine won't delete anything else on the same volume.
    But as Barry says, it will use all the empty space available, before it starts deleting its oldest backups, so there will eventually be a conflict. See #3 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions (or use the link in *User Tips* at the top of this forum). Also see #1 there, to be sure you have enough space for Time Machine to keep a reasonable "depth" of backups.
    A better bet, however, would be to use a separate external HD. If you have the Time Machine backups on the same physical HD, when it fails (and they all do, sooner or later), you risk losing both.

  • Photoshop CS 4 Print problem with Canon copiers via IP

    Try to print from Photoshop CS 4 to two Canon color copiers and we get this error message, "Before you can perform printer-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer"
    Fifteen Macs:
    Mac Pro towers, MacBook Pro, PowerMac G5 towers, iMac Intel, PowerBook G4. Many of each.
    Mac OS 10.5.7 or .8  and one Mac with 10.4.11 just to eliminate the 10.5 question.
    Canon Color Copier iPR Server, Canon Color Copier iR C3220, HP LaserJet 5000, HP LaserJet Color 5550 and ColorBurst RIP to an Epson Stylus Pro 9800.
    Adobe CS3 Design Standard & Premium, Office 2004, Safari, Firefox Entourage and Filemaker Pro 9.
    All the above Macs and applications can print to all printers with no issues.
    Installed Adobe CS4 Standard & Premium on the Mac Pro towers, MacBook Pro, PowerMac G5 towers.
    Photoshop CS4 will not print to the two Canon copiers. It will print to the other printers. Photoshop CS3 on these same Macs WILL print to the Canon copiers. All the other apps will print to the Canon copiers.
    Adobe has a tech note on this, ID KB409119 did not help.
    Deleted all prefs, created new users, deleted and reinstalled Adobe CS4, deleted all printers, downloaded latest drivers and installed printers fresh.
    None of this worked. Not to mention this problem is different from that tech note because Photoshop CS 4 will print just fine to the other HP printers.
    Tried setting up the one Canon Color Copier iPR Server using Appletalk. That worked.
    Why is there a problem with Photoshop CS4 and Canon IP printers?
    Just to recap for you all that just skim thru this:
    All Macs did this at once. So no fluke corrupt file, plus all the other apps print just fine to these printers. Adobe has problems with CS4.

    Try running a reset printing system. Open System Preferences > Print & Fax. Then hold down the Control key and click your mouse in the Printers list. A menu showing Reset printing system should appear. Click this.
    Now restart your Mac and then add the Canon driver again. Hopefully this gets things working for you again.

  • For the Pro's: Experience with Carbon Copy Cloner

    Hi everybody,
    I am a professional musicproducer. I use my MAC (G5, 2,7MHz DP 4GB RAM) every day many hours as my main working tool. So I cannot afford a loss of my system disc. If the disc fails some day, I do have to have a copy of it, that I can connect and go on working immediatedly. CCC is the perfect tool and i thank Mike Bombich for this efforts.
    My tests were as follows:
    After having cloned the system disc to a firewire drive successfully, I checked that I can boot from that drive, as long as the system disc is still in its place, connected and working.
    Then I tried the worst case scenario: I plugged my system disc off (bus- and powerplugs pulled out), simulating a harddisc crash with loss of the complete drive, and looked what happens. You have to press the "Option" key during power up of your MAC, and the system will search and show the available drives. I marked the cloned system and started. It worked! Everything looked the same as with a start from the internal drive.
    My question was: what exactly works and what not? Here is my report (I checked only LOGIC PRO 7.1.1):
    I can start the programm, I can open all of the songs - with some restrictions. A logic song has a lot of links to a lot of audio files. In my case, EXS instruments and EXS samples are on the internal drive, recorded audio is on a seperat drive. Logic of course can not find those on the (no more existing) internal drive any more, so I am asked to perform a search. But after all, the song is complete and working. The entries in the Project Manager database, that show the dependencies of instruments, songs and audiofiles, point to the internal drive - so the Project Manager is of no use anymore. But in practice, this is a minor problem.
    Now to my next question, concerning authorisations: I tried the "Waves" plug-ins: Yes, they work! And I tried the plug-ins of UAD, (they use a PCI DSP card): they work too! Only with the TC-Electronic plug-ins I was not successful, i got an "Error -1" - whatever that means. (I forgot to check "Autotune")
    All told, I am very happy with the Copy Cloner! It is "the" application for my purpose! Thanks again to Mike and Andreas!
    Thomas

    My own tests were less than satisfying: third-party plugs (in my case, NI) often don't like you messing with the disk they're installed on.
    After I restored to a clone, the B4 plugs, for me, refused to work. They demanded a reinstall (which, as all NI users know, is a royal PITA).
    In my case, having to reinstall a particular plugin was not the end of the world... after all, 45 minutes lost is better than rebuilding a system from scratch.
    But the lesson remains: an "exact clone" of your disk is never a 100% guarantee of immediate uptime, as you too discovered.

  • Upgrade of a hardrive with carbon copy cloner

    I upgraded my daughter's macbook hardrive and used carbon copy cloner to transfer all the mac stuff over to the new drive. It worked great but the windows stuff did not move with it. she uses boot camp and has not upgraded to leopard yet but has the most recent version of tiger. Is there a way for me to move in total her windows in boot camp without reinstalling it from the beginning?

    Hi,
    two things you can try:
    If the BootCamp Windows uses the FAT32 file system, try this: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=717201&start=0&tstart=0
    if it uses the NTFS file system, have a look at WinClone: http://www.twocanoes.com/winclone/
    Good Luck

  • License key problems with database copy

    Hi all - we are refreshing ECC 6.0 QA/Test system with a database copy from our DR system that is replicated from production with MIMIX. Problem with license key is that in SLICENSE the system number is from the DR system, but the QA system should have a different system number. When I go out to OSS, the existing license doesn't work because system number doesn't match what is in system data for QA system.  We recently upgraded to ECC 6.0 from 4.6C and didn't have this problem before.
    TIA,

    Hi again - finally figured it out, it's the difference between Old License and New License. We got an old license to install.

  • Problems with file copying/moving

    Hi!
    I've got 2x 120GB Maxtors in SATA0 RAID configuration, and one WD 100GB on the IDE bus. Now my problem is, that I can copy files with no errors, but if I do a Cut 'n paste, the file is either corrupted or cannot be read???
    I have no idea how to fix this nor where to begin, I was thinking of doing a complete reformating of the drive to see if this would fix it, also CHKDSK does not uncover any faults with the disk(s).
    Is it a driver problem/BIOS problem??
    Running the latest off. BIOS of 1.4
    [EDIT]
    The drives are connected to SATA 3&4, also the files cannot be deleted afterwards if I perform the Cut 'n paste :( So they are just sitting there using space...
    However this problem is not there on the IDE drive?? I can cut'n'paste just fine. Also if I cut'n'paste from the SATA RAID to the IDE drive, it goes fine, so it seems when I cut'n'paste from one place on the array to another on the array, that it goes wrong
    [/EDIT]
    Thanks
    Denis

    If you have divx installed on your system unistall it then update the program. Check this link out for the details.

    This is a nasty problem with XP SP2 and divx.

  • Backing up with Carbon Copy

    I am about to replace my internal hard drive with a new and bigger one. I am planning on using Carbon Copy. I have used it before and it worked well but before I never had Parallels/Windows on it. Does Carbon Copy copy and restore all the Windows components as well?
    Thanks

    If you have Windows installed via BootCamp, then no, CarbonCopyCloner will not copy the Windows partition.  If you have Windows installed via Parallels, as you have indicated, you'll be fine.  When using Parallels, all the Windows files are just stored in one big file on your OS X drive (or whatever drive you chose to install the virtual drive on)... so CCC will copy it with the clone if it is on your main OS X drive.

  • Copying disk with carbon copy cloner to an iBook?

    Hey guys. My iBook clam 366 indigo is running 10.2 Jaguar and I'm wanting to use Tiger so I can run some newer apps. I have an iMac g3 which is running Tiger and I was wondering if it would be possible to copy the disk from my iMac to the iBook using carbon copy cloner. I think it would work since both my iMac and iBook have firewire, and I could simply use target disk mode on the iBook and treat it like an external drive. I'm guessing my question is rather it would be bootable and fully functional on the iBook after I copied the disk image. Thanks.
    -Aaron

    Hello There, I'm no expert but I have installed Tiger on an Indigo firewire Clam via my iMac G3 using target disc mode. I have also done it using an external (powered as the Clam can't supply enough power) DVD drive as my tiger disc was a DVD-ROM. Just hold down Shift, Option, Command and Delete at the same time to force your clam to boot from the external drive. thern carry on with the install. Hope this helps, Good luck.

  • Problems with bill copying control and materials with variant configuration

    Hi experts,
    I have a problem with a bill copying control and the way that my customer is trying to create and print the Bill (VF01).
    Let me explain...They have in a Sales Order a material with variant configuration per position, each one can have many characteristics. This characteristics must be printing on the billing document, creating different bills 'coz the max. lines number is 18, so the bill must change page per material-characteristics.
    Example:
    Max. Number Lines = 3
    Position 10
    Material A
         -Characteristic A
         -Characteristic B
         -Characteristic C     (Bill 1)
         -Characteristic D
         -Characteristic E
         -Characteristic F     (Bill 2)
    Position 20
    Material B
         -Characteristic A     (Bill 3) counting characteristics upside
         -Characteristic B
         -Characteristic C
         -Characteristic D     (Bill 4)
    I created on Tx VOFM (Data Transfer-Billing documents) a routine trying to control this jump, but my problem is when I'm creating the Bill document (VF01) this work only by position, the debugging enter per position.. so I don't have any control to tell the program must count the characteristics and create another bill.
    So... Somebody can help me..or have any idea to solve this problem.....
    Thxs a lot!!!!
    Diego Helfer

    HI Diego
      For our coming assignment, we do have similar sort of situation. Currently we are in Requirements Gathering phase.
      Though we do not have Variant Configuration in place, we do have restriction for no..of items to be used for printing in Billing Documents.
      Current proposal is that we will restrict at Sales Order Creation. If the number of items are increasing, we will restrict saving the document and loading has to be done again. As itz better to restrict at initial phase.
      Our schema is One Sales Order -> One Delivery -> One Billig Document.
       Will post if we can manage to acheive some other way and do request you the same.
    Kind Regards
    Eswar

  • Problem with File.copy() -- should this work?

    I'm trying to copy a number of script files (I'm testing with just one) out of one folder into another. Here's the code:
    (function() {
      var myFolder = Folder(getScriptPath().parent + "/disabled");
      if (myFolder.exists) {
        var myScripts = myFolder.getFiles("*.jsx");
          for (var j = 0; myScripts.length > j; j++) {
          if (myScripts[j].copy("../enabled")) {
            myScripts[j].remove();
      function getScriptPath() {
        // This function returns the path to the active script, even when running ESTK
        try {
          return app.activeScript;
        } catch(e) {
          return File(e.fileName);
      } // end getScriptPath
    What's happening is that the file in the disabled folder is simply being deleted. This means that the copy method is returning true and yet the copy didn't happen. Perhaps my URI is wrong, but if so, the copy should have failed. The file is not in either the InDesign or ESTK packages, which seem to be the only two worth looking in -- I was running from ESTK with InDesign CS4 targeted.
    Dave

    You can set the current folder like this:
    Folder.current = "/d/test1/test2"
    Then change to that current folder's parent using
    Folder.current = ".."
    But you can't use .. in file masks. This won't work:
    var myFiles = Folder.cuttent.getFiles ("../*.jsx")
    The only way of using .. (as far as I can see) is with literal filenames:
    myFile = '../nonsense.txt'
    which points to nonsense.txt in current folder's parent folder. But this is unclear as you dont't have a reference to the current folder in your statement. I agree that using relative file paths is vague and it looks as if they're best avoided.
    Why copy() returns true when in fact it hasn't worked looks like a bug. I've tried it a couple of times and on Windows it gives the same results as with you: copy() says true when nothing's happened.
