Problems with CC and later with CS6
I have a monthly subscription to CS6 CC.
I pay every month.
I was told I could download CC apps.
Downloaded PS, AI, DW the day before yesterday.
No problem.
Yesterday starting up a CC app I was asked if I want to join, or try for a month. Huhh?
As from today same sh´´ for any CS6 app.
Whats this??

I never did anything else then installing the new AAM and then downloading / installing apps.
But: I got a tip from another forum that helped. I had to click "Buy now" (or such, in Dutch) and then Adobe told me I had its products succesfully acquired...

Problem with CS6 and Quadro FX 4500
I have 2 Quadro FX 4500 cards; 1 driving dual displays and the other driving a Cintiq 21 UX. Both cards have 512MB RAM operating under Win 7 with 16BG RAM.
Premiere, AE and Phtoshop CS6 see them as incompatible in one way or another even with the latest Nvidia driver: 296.7 which according to the driver specs added CUDA support OGL 4.2 etc...
Premiere: Murcury Playback Software Only
AE: GPU not available - incompatible device or display driver
Photoshop (both 64 and 32 bit ver): Gives message the GPU in not officially supported, does not allow more than Basic support and crashes when loading any image. Nevertheless the 4000 series is indicated as supported and the cards have the necessary RAM
I've added the graphics card to the raytracer_supported_cards.txt file in AE and the cuda_supported_cards.txt file in Premiere. I could not find any similar txt file for Photoshop if there is one. None of these solutions have fixed the issue.
I was able to get everything working when using CS5.5; any help would be greatly appreciated.>Both cards have 512MB RAM

Problems with CS6 Acrobate Pro X
When I first installed all the programs in the Design and Web Premium CS6 they all worked well. Within 6 months I had my first problems with Acrobate Pro X not being recognized. I had the program removed and re installed. It worked ok for about another 6 months.. Now I am getting all kinds of error messages. I tried to re-install but this error #1311. Any suggestions about getting this program up or ideas on how to contact Acrobate support directly?

Problems with CS6 on my system
So I gave cs6 another try since release....
Here are the things that are yet still preventing me from upgrading. Simple quality of life changes that are in cs5 and not in cs6.
1. Why is it that sometimes after selecting a gradient color in the layer styles, occasionally the enter key does not accept/close the window for editing the color? Drives me crazy honestly that I have to manually click ok. Yet in other times the enter key works just fine...
2. Seems like I need to restart photoshop very often nowadays, why? Because when transforming/moving objects the inner rendering window(canvas)will just go completely blank in a solid color....and when I stop moving/transforming it will come back to normal. The only way i've been able to fix it is with a restart - not cool. Doesn't happen in cs5, I have the latest drivers for my video card and I even tried disabling opengl with no success.
3. SAVING. Why oh WHY did you make saving so retarded compared to cs5. Not only does it seem to take longer but at least in cs5 it would "queue" up my saving. What I mean is this, if I hit ctrl+S to save my psd, and immediately push ctrl+shift+S to save as a jpg it get the lovely error of..."Could not complete the save as command cuz the document is currently being retarded".
Didn't happen in cs5. Annoys the hell out of me.
4. Lastly, maybe this is just something that takes getting used to but - I don't like the new way the layers are displayed over cs6. I find it hard to find my layers. The search tools were a good addition but it feels like I almost have to use them now because layer icons/spacing between layers, etc are just so different from cs5. Would be nice if we could revert the layer look and feel to cs5. Not just the overall color scheme.Also I just found some other REALLY annoying quirks.
1. In cs5 if I had a shape layer, I could click on the color part to turn off the selection(border box) of the shape but still keep that layer selected. Now i can only have it selected and have the border around.
2. Even more annoying when selecting a color with the color picker. Steps to reproduce:
1. New layer with something in it.
2. Layer style >gradient overlay
3. double click a color stop
4. now if i want to use the eye dropper to grab a color from my screen and drag the screen to find the color i want....after one drag, (keep holding the space bar but let go of the left click, then left click again to try and drag in another direction) it won't let me drag until the "smooth drag" stops....really annoying....(I realize i can turn off flick panning to "fix" this but why upgrade...so i can turn off features that were working before?) -

Why do I have time machine disk problem after closing and later reopening clamshell.
I consistently see the following after closing and later reopening my Macbook Pro (5,1). I have to unplug and replug my Time Machine USB drive.
The only thing new is Mountain Lion. The Time Machine disk has 229 GB free of 1.5 TB. I never had to unplug this drive under Lion.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I ran disc repair on Time Machine Drive yesterday, but it found nothing.

Time Machine is intended to be left enabled always whether a backup drive is connected or not. What Time Machine cannot handle properly is a situation where the backup drive loses power for whatever reason. Time Machine treats this, as does the OS, as an improper disconnect of an external drive without being properly ejected. This in turn throws Time Machine a little bit of a loop.
For you I would suggest not using Time Machine. Instead use a third-party backup utility that you can either schedule or run manually as you wish. They will work with the same drive you have used for Time Machine, but you will need to first erase the Time Machine drive using Disk Utility. Please DO NOT try dragging the Time Machine backups to the Trash.
Here are some good backup utilities you can try:

5. Synk Pro
6. Tri-Backup
Others may be found at MacUpdate. Each one can be used for a trial period. No need to pay for one until you've decided on which one you like best. I, for example, use Carbon Copy Cloner but please don't take that as a recommendation over the others. It's just my preference. All can be operated manually or can be set up to backup on a schedule you determine. Some can even be set up to backup as soon as the backup drive is connected.

Download and extraction problems with CS6 Web and design Premium?
I purchased CS6 from my university and upon trying to download it, the downloader that was downloading it stopped at around 85% and initiated a download cannot continue please contact [email protected] Upon chatting with two agents from the online chat, one of them directed me to download the trial version and activate it with the serial number I got when I activated the product. I got a download error when I downloaded it the first time, and the second time worked. When I went to sue the extract tool that I downloaded alongside the zip file, it worked for about 5 seconds, then I got a "A problem occurred while extracting some files. Check available space on your computer and the write privileges on the destination folder." Theres 140GB's on the drive I'm extracting too, and the folder has full privelages. How can I fix this? Or do I need to angrily demand my money back? I already opened and used it so I can't take it back to the university, and I'm not paying 100$ (which is what I was told it would cost me) to have someone else fix something that should not be broken.
Sorry, I feel your pain but you've posted in the wrong forum--this one is about Audition, the sound editing software.
However, I'm a bit suspicious of the response you got. As far as I know, the one part of support that is free from Adobe is still first-time installation issues and this is handled (usually) by phone with Adobe themselves. Perhaps you're in a different situation because you purchased from your university but something doesn't smell right about what you were told and that email address you were given which isn't an Adobe one. -
Is there still problems with cs6 and hidpi windows laptops?
I consider to buy a windows laptop with a high resolution (3200x1800) but only if i can get photoshop, illustrator and indesign work??
What is it that you are asking? There never was HighDPI support in CS6 on the Windows side and there never will be. Nobody goes back and reworks 3 year old software just because the hardware industry decided that HD monitors are no longer good enough...

Serial number problem with CS6
This morning, after running for over a year, the serial number that came with the copy of CS6 that I bought last August stopped working. I got an "invalid serial number error" and that was the end of CS6. I tried getting help from Adobe, but to no avail. The website was full of deadends or irrelevant pages. When I finally got into the chat cue, and I still don't know how I found it because I haven't been able to find it again, after an hour of waiting I had to go to work. With only 9 other people in line ahead of me.
So I've uninstalled and reinstalled CS6 twice, but it keeps telling me I have an invalid serial number. It is the serial number I registered with Adobe last year and that has worked since then. It is the same number that shows up when I look up "installed products" in my AdobeID account. Regardless, it is now inexplicably invalid. I found a post suggesting I run CC Cleaner. I did it--twice. I also adjusted file folder permissions on the Adobe program folder based on someone else's advice, but neither solved anything.
My impression is that it isn't an installation problem but that due to a mistake on Adobe's end, maybe due to an Adobe or MS auto update, my serial number now really is invalid, though it is paid for. This would mean there is nothing wrong with my installation, but just the serial number. With that in mind, and also that I don't want to deal with the aggravation any longer, I bit the bullet and bought...another copy of CS6. That's right, I will have paid twice for one copy because of a problem that is likely Adobe's fault. Congratulations Adobe! I came onto this forum so I could get an answer to the following question: who do I send the bill to? Who at Adobe reimburses their users when this kind of thing happens? If customer support had been better I might have been willing to hang in there while waiting for a fix, but it is obvious that none of the options available are made to assist customers so much as to drive them away. If I had known of an alternative software that could replace PS, Illustrator, and InDesign, I would have bought it instead.

I bought the software through my university supplier of all our software, so it is legit. The point is that I paid for it, I should be able to use it. If it doesn't work, there should be a way to tell Adobe. I wouldn't be angry about it now if not for the fact I couldn't even send the information to Adobe.
This same thing happened with my copy of IBM SPSS and QVR's nVivo X10 software. The problem is that the way these software keys are installed happens to be very sensitive to system changes or even updates on the other end, at the developer's servers that maintain licenses. I understand why they have the keys, but the way they are implemented ruins the user experience for me. When I spend about two weeks every year fixing software glitches like this, that's my whole Christmas vacation , they need to improve the software because it is becoming more trouble than it is worth.
I wish there was a competitor for Adobe because I would love to spend my money there, even if it costs more, just to switch to another application and remind Adobe that their monopoly on the market could crumble if the customer experience starts going south.

While compiling my application on Flash CS6 with Air for iOS 3.4, I am getting the error given below:
The content cannot be loaded because there was a problem loading an extension: Error: Requested extension com.adobe.Vibration is not supported for Windows-x86.
I am using vibration.ane file which got it from Adobe (http://www.adobe.com/devnet/air/native-extensions-for-air/extensions/vibration.html)
Anybody out there who knows how to solve this problem!
Thanks.1) The vibration ANE from Adobe does not support Windows.
2) The iOS simulator (adl) is not a virtual machine but rather it is a native Windows app, thus the platform your app runs on is Windows not iOS.
What Adobe needs to do to avoid confusing everyone is one of two things:
1) Include a stub for Windows (and MacOS) in the Vibration ANE.
2) Make it possible to deploy an app to a platform where the ANE is not supported, but produce a runtime error upon an attempt to use the ANE. The developer could then put logic in the app to detect the underlying platform and make adjustments. -
Problems with CS6 after cloud Download
Just joined the Adobe Cloud and downloaded CS6. I am using a MacBook Pro, new 15" retina display, 16 GB Ram, 2.6 Ghz processor.
Download and install seemed to work fine but when I start the program I get the following alerts:
Afterwards CS6 seems to load normally but I cannot open any image files. I have no idea what the 3 error messages mean and I bought the new MacBook Pro specifically to add more space and speed to my workflow using Photoshop and Lightroom. Any thoughts on a fix or workaroud would be appreciated.

I agree with you...that would not be a good thing..LOL. My quandry was simply that since I did not "move" any plug-ins into the re-install of CS6 from the Cloud but simply installed and clicked on "launch"....how did the plug-ins get there? After piecing together what you and Chis told me I think I figured it out. Since, when you uninstall CS6 the original file where the program had been (Adobe Photoshop CS6) and the plug-in file inside remain intact, re-installing CS6 again (this time directly from the "cloud") installs into that same CS6 folder. Since the folder already contains a plug-in folder from the last install, it must then "initialize" (thanks Chris...I had the semantics wrong) the plug-ins that it finds already there. So, in a way I have moved or installed them at one time, just not for the latest install of the same version from the Cloud or wherever.
I keep all my original plug-in installer modules in a separate folder if I need to reinstall as well as all the license keys which always saves a headache down the road.
I was pulling my hair out...and trust me...I don't have enough left to do that..LOL...until piecing tidbits of information from you both. The inference that I had physically moved plug-ins from one folder to another is what had me stumped and a little confused since I know that I did not do that. The time lapse between the finished install alert from the Cloud intall and the time that elapsed until I pushed the "launch" button was only a few nanoseonds so not enough time to copy anything anywhere. If the plug-in folder was already there and CS6 installed to the same folder called CS6 then it all makes sense.
Thank you again for helping me to figure this all out. In the future, if I want to do a true "clean" install of the same version I will simply delete the original folder and its plug-in folder since its best to do a re-install of the plug-ins from the original plug-in modules anyway, which I keep tucked away on an external hard drive.

ps...my apologies if I seemed a little curt with my first reply...it was the inference that I had physically moved something from one place to another and the tihird party reference that stuck me as inappropriate. Since I had not "moved" anything anywhere and at that time had no idea why I was getting the error messages since I had simply installed and launched, the immediate assumption that I must have moved something, etc. left me a little shocked. I am not tech savy like you and Chris but I assure you that if I had "moved" a file, I would have assumed the problem was there from the get go and would not have posted the question. :-) -
I am having the following problems with CS6 *NOT CREATIVE CLOUD*
So I purchased an upgrade for CS5 to CS6 and I did NOT purchase the Creative Cloud Option. I am having this host of problems:
• Illustrator CS6 Crashes on Quit
• Once launched Illustrator CS6 refuses to open new and existing documents unless I quit and restart.
• Once Illustrator CS6 is launched and managed to open an new document, Illustrator CS6 refuses to import a link into a new or existing document unless I quit and restart.
• From time to time, Illustrator CS6 will refuse to copy and paste from one document to another or within the same document until I quit and restart.
• Illustrator CS6 ignores all my UI preferences. This happens every time I restart. This never happened with CS5 when I was running it and I am seriously considering going back to CS5
Has anyone else experienced these problems as well?

Go to HD/Users/<yourname>/Library/Application Support/Adobe Illustrator CS6 and do a Get Info on that folder. Make sure that the permissions are set for Read/Write for you.

When will Adobe solve its problems with CS6?
I am teaching a class in RAW this quarter and I cannot ask students to purchase CS6 with its current problems unless Adobe can assure me a solution is imminent. As I have no way of contacting Adobe directly, I have to use this forum.
My present CS6 problem, for over a month, is the Adobe Application Manager requiring me to send my registration number once every day. This only affects Photoshop; I can open Bridge and RAW without any problem. If there is a fix, I haven't heard of it. I have the latest updates, use a Mac, and don't use over 16 bit processing.Historically, Adobe has released their full versions about 18 mos. apart. Now, there have been some dot upgrades, that fell within that time frame.
Usually, there are updates, made available, when complete and tested. Usually, the auto-updater gets the updates first (now, I would assume the Creative Cloud), and then, when an installer package has been released, the separate download/update is posted here.

I have two questions. First, I purchased CS6 through my school and Illustrator freezes up and says, "not responding" every time I click save. The software is up to date and I don't know how to stop this. The second problem is, I purchased this through school and the authorization code they gave me is alphanumeric. When I try to put that in on my laptop, my other computer, it will not take. Where can I find the correct licensing number for my software since I got it through school as a download?

I've got a big problem. I bought CS6 in order to be able to freely edit my youtube gaming videos to add simple watermarks, overlay titles and the odd fade in/out... For whatever reason, CS6 when I finally do finish that it kills the quality (completely), adds a border and additionally proceeds to have the time be in a format that isn't uploadable. My beginning files are filmed with Bandicam and come out at 700x480 .avi files with MJPEG video codec and PCM audio codec. These work perfectly and upload easy, but adding a simple title that fades out, and a minor fade at the end is resulting in needing 13+ hours to export back to AVI format (again with for whatever reason lower quality despite clicking options for highest reolution) and with obviously changed codecs cause they wont upload... I'm cropping the frame to remove the border and that just seems t be adding even more time, for something that shouldn't be there in the first place, honestly what can be done about this? I'm now 3 days behind filming since I bought CS6 because it keeps butchering my videos.
Step 1. I created a sequence using square pixels with a frame size of 848X480. I imported an HDV file - just something silly. An alligator wrestler tickling an alligator at Gatorland in Florida.
The video has some movement. It isn't a game of course, but I thought the straight lines of the railing might enhance the test.
Step 2. I put the HDV file on the sequence keeping the sequence settings.
Step 3. I then exported the original file so you can see how that looks on YouTube. This video #1
Step 4. Then I put Isaac's logo on top and exported it for YouTube the exact same way. That is video #2.
Step 5. Then I played the video in the program monitor at full quality and 100% of scale while I recorded that playback with the same software Isaac uses only mine has a watermark. I recorded using MJPEG even though I probably would have used Lagarith - but MJPEG is what Isaac used and that is the purpose of all of this.
That is video #3. It is not posted directly but will be available from my web site for anyone who really needs it. But they are easy to create for yourself.
Step 6. Then I put a logo on the video and captured as video #4. Also not posted to YouTube.
Step 7. I put Video #3 on the Premiere Pro timeline and exported it for YouTube. This is the actual reference video for the next step. It is Video #5.
Step 8. I put the logo on the MLPEG video in the timeline and exported as Video #6. This is the real test. A MJPEG video on a Premiere Pro timeline with a logo, exported for YouTube.
The settings for the exports to YouTube are all identical. It is up to you to judge the quality.
I am making all of the original files available for Issac to download. If anyone else wants the files, just send me PM and I will provide the link.
You will want to use the YouTube large player, not the small player, and it does little good to make it full screen since most computers do not upscale all that well. Although on my monitors the degradation is not all that horrible.
The black lines on the sides are minimal and are only troublesome if you look for them - or so it looks to me. I believe this to be a function of the large player but I can't swear to it.

Problems with CS6 using Bridge
Hi - any help will be greatly appreciated! I cannot get PS6 to use Bridge or MiniBridge. I just get "Waiting for Bridge CS6"
I'm running Windows 7, SP1; and McAfee Security Center 11.6. My account has Admin privileges. I installed a full version of CS6 from CD. And I installed the latest updates (as of 4/3/13) for both products.PS6 and Bridge.
Here's what I've tried:
I installed CS6 successfully - Bridge won't launch from within CS6 (Bridge runs fine as a separate application.) I uninstalled CS2, and rebooted, then re-installed CS6 - Bridge still won't launch.
I uninstalled Photoshop Elements 10 (all the pieces) & rebooted. I re-installed CS6 – Bridge still won't launch.
I uninstalled Lightroom 1 & rebooted. I re-installed CS6 - Bridge still won't launch.

I renamed the switchboard folder; re-booted; launched CS6 – Bridge still won’t launch.
I checked for issues with McAfee. McAfee lists both Photoshop CS6 and Bridge CS6 as having Full access to the internet. I cannot find any way to allow or block programs on my PC from communicating with each other.
I checked my hosts file. It contains only comments.
I cleared the cryptographic database and deleted keys via regedit (as instructed by link above) & re-booted.
The only thing I did not try on the list was moving everything to a new account. I am really reluctant to do this because it is more onerous than using Bridge as a stand-alone app!

I first attempted to re-install the current version and got the message "Adobe Air already installed. This version of Adobe Air is already installed on your system."
Next, I un-installed the version on my computer, re-booted, then re-installed it. That didn't work either.
