Problems with chat / messages / page refresh in Facebook
I suddenly began having problems with Facebook, and then with Huffington Post. On HP, the dropdown menu for notifications won't load. On Facebook, things are far worse. Chat won't load, and I can't load private messages. In addition, the page won't refresh. When things get really bad, I can't even post. This all began rather suddenly as I was running Firefox version 12.x, but the problems continue in 13.x (for Windows 7, 64 bit)..
As others have noticed, opening in a private session works fine - message list, buddy list, realtime status list (aka creeper list), and clicking on certain photos all work perfectly now.
Also, I noticed via the web console that the "operation is insecure. code: 18" error that jhappone found does '''not''' appear when running in a private session, but '''does ''' when running in my normal session. So I did a little more digging by trying different cookie settings.
My normal set up for keeping cookies is "ask every time". So I tried "until they expire" and "until I close firefox". Both worked much much better than "ask every time" but there were still occasional instances here and there when viewing the message list did not work (and there appeared the error in the web console) whereas private browsing always worked. In addition, I have the setting "ask every time" at work, and I seem to have most actions working fine there.
So my theory is with timing. It appears that the faster it can process what to do with cookies the better chance of success. Maybe it is a threading race condition? Private browsing blindly accepts all cookies and keeps them in RAM. This is the fastest. "Until they expire" and "until I close firefox" also a blind accept, but uses the HD, so it's a bit slower. "Ask me everytime" needs to check against an accept/accept-session/block list first, so that is the slowest. Perhaps some other thread finished first and that is when we see the error (and the corresponding missing facebook data)?

Hi everyone.
I wonder if i am the only one experiencing a little problem with the new Pages?
My problem is that every other time i want to correct the font lets say trying to underline or make the font fatter using the hotkeys "Command+B" or "Command+U" or "Command+I", or even changing it manually in "formats" my font gets stuck, and i have to copy-paste text from another pages-file into my old one to get et back to normal.
Anyone else tried this?

I have a problem with an update page on my website
Here's how it work
values are defualted in from the advert table - this works fine
I should then be able to change the fields and click on the update button
This works fine but ONLY when the O_year field is populated.
There doesn't seem to be anything special about the O_year field
I thought spry text validation would of been causing the issues, but I removed them and have the same problem.
For some reason the POST_MMupdate value is not being set to 'form4', which it is doing if O_year is set.

Removing I investigated spry a little more, in the end I settled for removing spry altogether,
Maybe it was because the text field in a $GET (for the default) AND a $PUT (for the update) -
Problem with Frameset and page session
All,
I am having a problem with Framesets and page session attributes. I
have a client who's application uses a three frame frameset. They
have a requirement on several pages that when a button is pushed two
different pages load into the right and left frames. The way they
are accomplishing this is that on the pages were this is required,
they are adding target="_top" to the form declaration in their JSP.
Then they store the page names they want to display in session,
forward the request to the frameset, the frameset then determines
which pages to display based on the session variables. This works
exactly how they want it to.
Here is our problem. We need to store some information in page
session attributes. We have tried to get a handle to the desired
view bean and call the setPageSessionAttribute method. However,
since we are forwarding to the frame and the frame handles displaying
the desired JSP, that view bean we had the handle to is not the one
that is created to hand the display of the JSP.
The next thing I tried was to use the request object. In the
handleBtnRequest method, I set an attribute in the request object. I
then query the request object in the beginDisplay event of the view
bean. When the frame is reset the request object does not contain
the attribute that I have set. I'm confused by this because I
thought the request object would be available to me throughout the
life of the request.
Given the above information, does anyone have any suggestions? Also,
am I going about this in the wrong manner.

Problem with display of pages in IE
I'll keep this short and simple, I'm not after criticism of my work but if it is a mess then I understand, I've re-coded a website designed by a friend who has joined the army & is currently serving so I cannot get in touch with him for help, I'm a novice website designer but I'm stumped as to why my pages are behaving the way they are
I've made a website for a friend's pub and it all looked brilliant in DreamWeaver CS5's Design View so I went ahead and used ftp program FileZilla to send it live on my domain and basically it shifted my pictures and it displays differently in IE to what it does in Chrome e.g. My "Find Us" page has a large white bar at the bottom in IE which shouldn't be there and I can't get rid of it, but it doesn't show in chrome?
Any help or code I may be able to implement would be greatly appreciated, thanks Freecey.

Also, you are using absolute positioning to place elements within your header region - that's definitely suboptimal and unnecessary since it precludes centering the page in various width viewports. However, if you make the following changes you can muddle by -
1. Change the CSS for #outerShadow to set the left/right margins to "auto". Make it position:relative.
2. Change the left values for the absolutely positioned elements to whatever you need for them to be correctly located within #outerShadow.
3. Twiddle the remaining out of place element margins to locate them correctly within #outerShadow.
That should do it. But the real way to build this page is without using absolute positioning at all. It's not necessary and will always make your maintenance more complicated as long as you have it. -
I have two Iphones 5 with different email addresses sharing one Apple ID account.Both are using IOS 8.
I would like to set up a new Apple Id for one of the phones and remove it from the old account.
If I do that, can I move all of the purchased apps and songs to the new Apple account?
Also, will sharing one Apple ID account with two devices cause problems with using messaging and FaceTime?Sharing an iCloud account between two devices can be done without causing issues with iMessage and FaceTime, just go into Settings for each of these functions and designate separate points of contact (i.e. phone number only, or phone number and unique email address). While that works, you'll then face the problem where a phone call to one iPhone will ring both if on the same Wi-Fi network -- but again, that can be avoided by changing each phone's settings.
Rather than do all that, don't fight it -- use separate IDs for iCloud. You can still use a common ID for iTunes purchases (the ID for purchases and iCloud do not have to be the same) or you can use Family Sharing to share purchases from a primary Apple account. -
Problem with Nokia Messaging on my N97 (V22)
Since afew weeks I have a strange problem with Nokia Messaging on my N97.
I receive emails using Nokia Messaging (V10.2.26) with a date shown incorrect as 01.01.0000 and the email then can’t be opened/read.
This happens either on 3G connection as well as WLAN and it seems to be by random, not only HTML-emails or emails with text only.
I have uninstalled Nokia messaging already and reinstalled V10.1.24 but the problem still remains.
Is there any idea how to fix this issue because it is quite annoying and I can’t use the full functionality of my cell phone?millic wrote:

the challenge is that NM has been unruly as of late...and believe when i say that i have literally been on the phone teching nokias support up to tier 2 and creating, canceling, trying new acounts with different email, different ways of creating them, with wifi, gprs...and praying for hours accross mutliple phone calls
but to no avail, are the devices we are using connecting and syncing...even with thier n900 specialist which i had to help him! lmao.
another option for a solution is alwayhs welcome as there are more then one way to skin a cat.
i hope it works for him and others as i kno9w thesome that are just giving up on it. -

I saw one post where a user said dust got inside the small microphone hole. Using a vacuum cleaner removed the dust and restored the audio.

Problem with instant message in clustered environment
Hello, I have some problem with Instant Message service.
We need to use it in our Production Environment (a clustered emvironment with a central instance, two dialog instances and two web dispatchers), some months ago we tested it in Development Environment (not clustered emvironment, just a single system) and it worked fine.
So I did the same configurations on Production Environment but it did not work.
But if I access on my portal (Production Env.) by the central instance (avoiding the dispatchers) the instant message service works.
I think it can be a web dispatcher's configuration problem, in its logs I found the message :
"<i>[Thr 3700] *** ERROR => htmlEncode: called with empty string [icpif.cpp 847]</i>"
I' ve repeated the same configuration done in Dev.Env. (no dispatcher) on the Prod.Env. (with 2 dispatcher), is possible that I'm missing some configurations??

I'm using firefox 4. It's making problem with Bangla font such as on facebook. It shows Bangla font in a very disordered way! what can I do?
While I was having the problem, I was already using Ovro and had the font "Siyam Rupali" selected. I changed the font to "SolaimanLipi" provided by Prothom Alo and my problems with Facebook, Gmail and Bangla blogs are gone now.
