Problems with Cisco VPN & UMTS

Hello!
Just got a new MacBook Pro 2,0 and am busy setting it up for mobile access to our corporate network.
I´m using Cisco VPN Client 4.9.00 (0050).
When I am using my wireless router at home (over a DSL line) everything works fine, but when I am connected over a SonyEricsson K608 UMTS/3G phone, the client does not seem to be able to connect:
Error log is as follows:

Has anybody heard of something like that?
I tried the same on a G4 iBook with the same configuration, and everything works fine there.
Bye, Frido.

If you have a data plan on your phone, make sure it is VPN capable. T-mobile has this option. There is something with the routing and proxies that they use.
Most cell providers will also block most ports other than say 80 and other ports they specifically use.

  • Problem with Cisco VPN client and HP elitebook 2530p windows 7 64-bit

    Hi there
I have a HP Elitebook 2530p which i upgraded to windows 7 64-bit. I installed the Cisco VPN client application (ver. 5.0.07.0290 and also 64-bit) and the HP connection manager to connect to the internet through a modem Qualcomm gobi 1000 (that is inside the laptop). When I connect to the VPN, it connects (I write the username and password) but there is no traffic inside de virtual adapter for my servers. When I connect to the internet through wire or wireless internet, I connect de VPN client and there is no problem to establish communication to my servers.
I tried everything, also change the driver and an earlier version of the HP connection manager application. I also talked to HP and they told me that there was a report with this kind of problem and it was delivered to Cisco. I don’t know where is the problem.
    Could anyone help me?
    Thanks to all.

You can try to update Deterministic Network Enhancer to the below listed release which supports
    WWAN Drivers.
    http://www.citrix.com/lang/English/lp/lp_1680845.asp.
DNE now supports WWAN devices in Win7.  Before downloading the latest version of DNEUpdate from the links below,  be sure you have the latest
drivers for your network adapters by downloading them from the vendors’ websites.
    For 64-bit: ftp://files.citrix.com/dneupdate64.msi
    Hope that helps.

  • Problem with Cisco VPN since upgrade to Snow Leopard

Since upgrading to Snow Leopard a couple of hours ago I can no longer open up my CiscoVPN application (version 4.9.01) which I use to connect to my network at work. When I try now I just get an "Error 51: message"
*Error 51: Unable to communicate with the VPN subsystem.*
Please make sure that you have at least one network interface that is currently active and has an IP address and start this application again.
I can still connect to the network if I use Parallels and use the Windows VPN client - but that's not really the point! I've tried the popular suggestion for Error 51 errors in the past (typing "sudo SystemStarter restart CiscoVPN" via Terminal) which doesn't work.
    Any ideas or help appreciated.
    Acculess

I was able to get it working without re-downloading the client (4.9.0.1.0080 was already installed). I noticed that System/Library/StartupItems/CiscoVPN had been removed during the upgrade to snow leopard, so I pulled it back off of a Time Machine backup. Restoring that directory and doing a 'sudo /System/Library/StartupItems/CiscoVPN/CiscoVPN restart' seemed to fix things up.

  • Lion compatible with Cisco VPN?

Is Lion compatible with Cisco VPN Client 4.9.01?

Yes. Boot up in 32 bit mode and the Cisco VPN client 4.9 will work in Lion.
Restart the mac and hold the 3 and 2 buttons and you'll be in 32 bit mode. The vpn client should work.

  • Window 8 WiFi problem with Cisco wireless network

Anyone encounter a Windows 8 WiFi authentication problem with Cisco wireless network?
We are using WLC 5508, 7.2.111, and AP 3602i with WPA2.
Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPad App

This problem occurred with Soney, and Dell models.  Lenovo with Windows 8 factory installed is working fine.
Won't make any difference as these laptop's wireless NIC cards are different.
Can you try with OPEN authentication.  If the Sony and/or Dell laptop works, then you start cranking up the security and/or encryption settings until you break them.
I'm with Scott here:  It's got to be a wireless NIC card driver.
As what George has stated, post the debug of the failed attempts.

Im having problem to connect  IP Communicator (either ver 2 or 7 )whenever using Cisco VPN Client 5.0.06.0160 for windows
the IPC didn't register to the CUCM
There's nothing showing on the screen
but whenever im using  Anyconnect VPN Client, it works perfectly
The remote side is using ASA5505
    Anyone can help ??
    Thanks

It's probably an issue with the ASA configuration in your "group-policy attributes".  The "split-tunnel-network-list value" is pointing to an access list without the subnet for the call manager.  While your ssl group-policy for webvpn has a "split-tunnel network-list value" access-list which does contain the subnet for the call manager.
The other issue could be that your using different ip pools for ipsec and ssl vpn.  The ip pool subnet that you might be giving out for ipsec might not be in your "no nat" acl.

  • VPN 720 error with win 8 with Cisco VPN client 5.0.07.0440

    Hello,
I have Win 2008 configured as RRAS- VPN server, with win 7/8 VPN clients.
half of these client machines are also running "Cisco VPN client 5.0.07.0440"
all win 7 machines works fine however most of Win 8 will not connect to windows VPN, if they also have Cisco VPN client 5.0.07.0440 intsalled.
    Any suggestion.
    Thanks

    Workaround to this problem is:
1)- Unintsall Cisco VPN client from win 8
    2)- reset IP stack

There seem to be much more problems with 3.1.04049
    Especially with certificate authentication.
    I opened some TAC cases.
Try 3.1.04063 that came out at 07-24-13.
TAC said that there are some fixes in it...

  • Boot camp with Cisco VPN client and smart card

Looking at a Macbook or Macbook Air and the only reason I need to run windows is to be able to access my work network through the Cisco VPN client and my Smartcard then use remote desktop. From my understanding if I run Bootcamp it should work am I correct? Im going to an Apple store tomorrow hopefully they can help too.
    Thanks

Ok with that being said will the MBA 11.6 1.4ghz have the guts to make it run mostly internet based programs over the VPN connection?
I think if you are running apps over the Internet the bottleneck will be the Internet and your VPN bandwidth. Your computer can certainly execute faster than Internet communications.
Besides, Internet or remote applications run on the remote server. All your local computer does is local processing of the data if necessary.

  • Connect sequence with Cisco VPN & BT FON

I have an issue with the connection sequence using Cisco VPN & BT Openzone/FON
I cannot connect the VPN until I have logged in to BT FON/Openzone
This would be ok, but I use a tabbed browser & it is trying to connect all tabs at once over an unsecured link. Also, when (not if) the connection drops I am in the same position.
It should be possible to connect the VPN first, then the browser
    Thanks in advance,
             Alan
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The VPN client connection cannot be established without a path to BT Openzone, which hosts the VPN server.
That`s just the way VPNs work, you have a server and a client.
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.

  • Mac Pro kernel Panic with Cisco VPN Client

After Having to rebuild my new Mac Pro 3 times I finally found that it was the Cisco VPN Client that was released for Intel in Feb. of this year that does not play nice with the new machines. Don't install or if it's too late boot into Safe Boot mode by holding your shift key during startup and then follow the instructions at the link below.
    http://itinfo.mit.edu/answer.php?id=8171

    Just a heads-up;
the new Cisco VPN Client has now been released and fixes this issue.
The version 4.9.01.0030 specifically resolves the following bugs:
CSCsd51113 feature unity nonwindows set mtu vpnclient.ini field
CSCsd51126 unity mac ppp intel fails with mismatch log message 10.4
CSCsc56445 unity mac rebranding volume name voids rebranding files
CSCsf19841 unity mac does not support 64 bit mac pro platform

  • Unable to access satellite offices with Cisco VPN client

    There are 4 sites:
    Main office - 192.168.0.x/24
    Sat office1 - 10.0.0.x/24
    Sat Office2 - 10.0.1.x/24
    Sat Office3 - 10.0.2.x/24
All 4 offices are connected via MPLS using other Cisco routers from the telcom co. The user VPN endpoint is at the main office. (Cisco 1811)
We can make the VPN connection with the Cisco VPN client and browse the 192 network all day long. We cannot access any of the other subnets over the VPN connection. Browsing the other subnets while physically at the main office is fine. This DID work in the past. Something changed that I cannot pinpoint, any ideas?
Scope for the VPN endusers is 10.100.100.x/24
Cisco VPN Client versions 4.x and 5.x (both affected)
    Thanks in advance

    Ken
It is good to know that it did work in the past and then stopped working. That indicates that something changed. Is it possible that a software upgrade has been done and that the change is behavior is reflecting a different version of IOS? (I suspect that is is possible but not so likely - but we need to ask.)
My guess is either that there was some change in the routing logic or that the access lists which indicate what traffic is to be protected by the VPN used to include remote to remote but has been changed for some reason.
Could you post the configuration of the main office 1811?
Another question that occurs to me is whether the main office 1811 is directly connected to the Internet or does it go through some firewall? If if goes through some firewall is it possible that there has been some change in the firewall rules that is denying the remote to remote traffic?

    Thanks & Regards,

    Hi,
    See this:
    Table A-8     1400 W AC-Input Power Supply LEDs
    LED
    Meaning
    INPUT OK
•Green—Source AC voltage is OK. (Input voltage is 85 VAC or greater.)
•Off—Source AC voltage falls below 70 VAC, is not present, or the power supply is turned off.
    FAN OK
•Green—Power supply fan is operating properly.
•Off—Power supply fan failure is detected.
    OUTPUT FAIL
•Red—Problem with one or more of the DC-output voltages of the power supply is detected.
    •Off—DC-output voltage with acceptable margins.
Note For proper operation of the OUTPUT FAIL LED, systems with single power supplies must be configured with a minimum of one fan tray assembly and one supervisor engine. Systems with dual power supplies must have a minimum configuration of one fan tray assembly, one supervisor engine, and one additional module. Failure to meet these minimum configuration requirements can cause a false power supply output fail signal.
