Problems with Creative Zen V plus software

*Problems with Creative Zen V plus software Dear friends,
I'm trying to install the software included with creative Zen V Plus but it is not possible - it stops at 63%
I get this following error:
"CTIntrfu.dll can not be installed"
"DoInstall fails to launch E:\PDE\CTXInst\Setup.inx"
I'm using "Windows XP 2002 home edition - serivce pack 2"
I'll appreciate any help.
At the moment my PC doen't recognize the Zen V

Hey Guys,Here is a link to instructions on how How to obtain and to install USB 2.0 drivers in Windows XP Service Pack . http://support.microsoft.com/default...;EN-US;Q329632?Win2000 and later have the capability to support USB 2.0, but USB 2.0 was released after XP was release, so there weren't any drivers installed before Windows XP service pack 2. Make sure you've installed all your windows updates including service pack 2. You can check if you have SP2 by right-clicking on my computer and choosing "properties", it will say on the general tab. Also the way to tell if you have USB 2.0 drivers installed is to right-click on my choose "Manage", then choose "device manager" look down to "uni'versal serial Bus controllers" and click on the + . This will expand the USB devices. Look for the word "enchanced" (USB enhanced host controller). If you see it, then you have USB 2.0 support. If not, use the link above and get the drivers. Problem with Creative Zen Nano Plus 1 GB mp3 player please r

I bought zen nano plus? month ago and while i was transfering music into it it crashed ,? it looked like its no more readable so i disconected it from my pc , it needed format , i did format and tried to transfer some music again but the same problem appeared . I thought the memory card of the player is damaged and needs to be changed or repaired? , i gave it to customer support and after a few days they said they installed newer software version to the player , well i thought it will fix the problem . Once i got home i tried to transfer music and it crashed again , i couldnt even format it cause when i plug in the mp3 F: ( usb dri've ) does not respond. I gave the mp3 to customer support again , they filled up the mp3 with music six times and everything worked fine. But at home it still crashes while transfering , so i dont know what to think . On the packet where the mp3 was when i bought is written WORKS WITH WINDOWS VISTA ,?currently i have windows xp ,? can it be that i can only transfer music without prloblems with windows vista ? can it be that zen nano plus is created to use with windows vista ? Did you install the driver on your PC? If not, then do it. Try reformatting the player as FAT. Next try tranferring a few folders full of mp3 files. Use windows explorer to drag and drop the folders? with files to the player. Now see if the player will play them.

Problem with Creative Zen Touch DAP-HD0014

Hey,
I have the Creative Zen Touch DAP HD004 as listed in the subject. Version .0.03
In the "Information" part of the player, it lists it as having GB of music available, but in the menu only the 59 default classical music songs appear. (These are not knowingly mine!)
I was wondering whether there was any way to turn the player into Hard Dri've mode to retrieve these songs, or to use some sort of program to view them and put them back onto the player? Everytime I use My Computer to browse the MP3 Player, all that appears are the same 59 songs.
I hope this information can help someone to solve my problem!!

EDIT: I downloaded a trial version of "Notmad Explorer" and I can now see 2590 Data Files. Once I download a full version, is it simple to just conver Data Files into Audio Files?

Problem with Creative Zen Micro software detecting certain C

Hi,
I hope someone can help me. I recently purchased a Creative Zen Micro MP3 player. So far, I have very few complaints, apart from the fact that while travelling on the bus, it won't seem to detect any radio stations.
The problem re: the software though is that it will only detect the last track on three of my CD's. None of these CD's are damaged in any way, but all are from the same record label. Anyway, I was wondering if anybody had any tips on how I might be able to transfer these albums onto my player?

Brief Problem description :.When I put a battery in the Zen micro, it automaticly turn on andshow "hardware problem" and freezed.2. If I connect to power adapter, i it automaticly turn on and show"hardware problem" and freezed.3. If I connect to my computer via usb cable, my computer can not findthe player and the player do not turn on even I switch on. Problems running creative zen nano plus and nomad muvo on same compu

We have 2 nomad muvo mp3 players and now a zen nano plus .Have had constant problems with the media organiser .
Installed zen nano plus and selected enable smart fit to get maximum amount of songs and it worked fine but as soon as we tried to install software for the 2 nomad players it would not work smart fit for any of them.
Uninstalled everything and got the zen software in and it was running ok but then seemed to have problems and although smart fit was enabled it just copied files as the original mp3.
It then fatally crashed yesterday and I am awaiting a replacement as I had only had it for 2 days.
Is it possible to run all 3 and to be able to use smart fit on all 3 players or am I better off having just one working and using the file converter for the other 2.

Make sure that you have installed the MediaSource plugin for MuVo in order to get SmartFit You have to access SmartFit via the MuVo node of the Sources window in MediaSource. You won't see SmartFit if you access your MuVo via the My Computer node of the Sources window in MediaSource..
Here is what you should do to get the latest MediaSource software:
- Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Player/Organizer 3.30.2 from your product download site.
- (Depending on your firmware)
Download and install the latest Creative Zen and NOMAD Jukebox plugin 2.00.9 for Creative MediaSource from your product download site.
or:
Download and install the latest Creative MediaSource Plugin for PlaysForSure devices (version .00.8) from your product download site.

Creative webcam dell studio 17 problems with creative zen

hi there, ive got a dell studio 17 with a built in webcam.
When i try to install the drivers for the creative zen, and put the disk in, a message comes up saying 'we could not find the driver software for your device'
then windows trys to solve the problem and comes up with a message saying 'this problem was caused by a compatibility issue between this version of windows and yor webcam which was made by creative' 'go online to download and install the update for your webcam'
however i try the website they gave me, which is the creative support page, but i cant find a built in webcam for the dell studio 17
i was just wondering whether the answer is right in front of my eyes, or if anyone else had this problem

The only thing that comes to mind to help you out here is to try to visit Dell's support website and update your hardware drivers and/or firmware. To get to your model's specific downloads click on "Drivers & Downloads" and choose the Service Tag option. It asks you for your Service Tag which is on the bottom of your laptop. Then it will bring you to a list of available downloads.
Make sure the operating system is set to Windows Vista 64-bit, as this is what your laptop came with. The important ones to update are BIOS and Chipset. But since I don't know specifically what is causing your problem, it's kind of a guessing game.
This is assuming you can get your laptop to boot up long enough to perform these updates. You said that the error said something about a driver, so hopefully updating your hardware drivers and firmware help.

Problem with Creative Zen and Win 7

# I have Creative Zen player almost 4 years. I recently bought a new computer? with Win 7 operati've system, and since then my creative Zen player will no logner to connect with PC.
I tried everything?, but creative centrale it will not recognize it's. When I try with Win XP?everything is OK?.
What is wrong with? Win 7 and Creative Zen?I have the software? for the Win 7.

I have a refirbishd ?NOMAD Jukebox, that uses the ZEN USB 2.0 drivers and got it to work under Win7Wiltimate x64.
Install the regular XP drivers as administrator.
Install the NOMAD explorer (I know, this will not work on WIn7).
Install WinAMP (http://www.winamp.com)
Now you're set to go! Fire up WinAMP and go to the media library. There connect the ZEN to your computer and if all goes right, it should find your ZEN without any problem under proteble devices. Select it and have fun using your ZEN under Win7.
Adding tracks is a simple copy from the Windows explorer and past in the WinAMP library screen.

Problem with Creative Zen V P

Hello I received a Cretai've Zen V Plus today (4gb)
however, I have a problem when uploading files. I upload entire albums in different folder for example:
tool - schism
amelie - soundtrack
etc
The files are all on the Zen. When I try to access the files by opening a folder, the folder only shows a few mp3's. However, If I select "show all mp3" I can see and listen to them. Why ?
How do you organize all mp3 in different folders ?

You have to understand that the Music Library browser on the Zen screen, does not represent "folders" as you can see them in Windows Explorer when looking at the Zen hooked to the computer.
The Music Library browser uses the "tags" (song title, album, artist, track number) that are embedded in the music files (mp3 files => "id3 tags", wma files => "wma tags" ). If the tags aren't properly set, then the Music Library won't present the songs the way you expect them...
Song files bought from online shops tend to have the tags correctly. If you rip your own music, you have to ensure in the Ripping software that tags are set. If you got files from "somewhere else", they may not have been tagged correctly.
I advise you search a bit on the forums about tagging files. A program like mp3tag or mp3/tag studio can help you set tags on large collections of songs, but it will still require a bit of effort on your part.

Having big problems with Creative Zen Micro Photo!! I need much urgent help!

Hi. I am having a big problem with my MP3 Creative Zen Micro Photo device at the computer.Here is the thing:Before I bought this I had the regular Zen Micro & having fun with it. I had no problems with that when I used the Media Explorer to transfer songs. So I bought the Zen Micro Photo & installed it my computer. As normal I used the Media Explorer to transfer songs & pictures.So I reinstalled Windows XP at my computer, and when I installed the CD that followed to transfer new songs, the Windows said that it's an unknown thing I have connected in the USB.So I installed Service Pack & 2. I have tried to install drivers from the cd but it seems that there are no drivers on the cd! The big problem is that when I connect the MP3 to the computer, it doesn't read it's a Zen Micro, it's just unknown! So the Zen Micro Photo Media Explorer program doesn't work & I can't transfer songs or picture on it! And it just happened after I re-installed Windows on my computer. The same thing happened on my brother's computer after he re-installed windows. And when I connect the MP3 to the USB, it says that it's not a USB 2.0, but .! And I am sure it is 2.0 because it has always been like that before I re-installed windows. Also the MP3 does not re-charge when I put it my computer! The battery is just the same, it tries to do it but it doesn't. So I am using my sisters computer to charge the MP3 & transfer songs. I have tried everything but I can't seem to understand what the problem is? I have never experienced something like this before, and I really hope you can help me with this! To be honest I think what I am missing is the driver. So can someone PLEASE provide me the link for the driver? I have downloaded all those 3 on www.creative.com, but they are none of them! Also that playforsure firmawre thingy does not work because it sais that I have to connect my MP3, and it is connected already!Please reply as quick as possible! Thanks a lot for you kind help!

Problems with creative zen mi

I've recently started having problems with my creative zen micro. It will connect to the computer to charge and as a removable disk but wont connect to the computer to let me put anymore music on it/take music off etc. It just doesn't register it. Before I could connect it to the computer and it would automatically bring up creative mediasource but it wont do that and when i click on creative mediasource it doesnt register that my zen is connected at all ! ! !

Have you tried going into Device Manager and updating the driver for the Micro? You don't actually have to install a driver update, you can just elect to use the driver that is already installed, and Windows will attempt to refresh the pairing between the installed driver and your specific player.

Major audio problems with Creative Zen Micro 6Gb... need h

I have had this device for about a year and a half. about a month or 2 ago, there has been problems with the headphone jack. If the base of the headphone cord (all 20 of them i tested) moved, the audio will either go mono-tone, or play a signle layer of the audio file, or no audio at all. although when applying pressure to it, it will play well. I do NOT want to not go hands free just to enjoy my music, so please help me out!

Although a failed power switch is not unknown, I only recall seeing two or three other cases of this. It's not common.
If WMP isn't working with the device having v2 firmware something is wrong. Unfortunately this can be difficult to fix, but take a look here in the Zen FAQ at Nomadness.net.
MediaSource won't detect the player if there's some issue e.g. WMP0 not detecting it. You can of course also try installing Zen Micro Media Explorer (Creative Zen Micro Media Explorer Web Update to be specific) which has MTP support.
Are you are presumably under guarantee, and as you bought from an Internet store, it's best to return it direct to Creative. Contact Creative Support to arrange this.

USB problems with creative zen

last summer i bought a 4gb creative zen from newegg.com (like this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...=N82E685502039), and a couple of weeks ago the very short usb cable wouldnt recognize that i had plugged the player in unless i had the cord in an "S" shape. it worked fine for a while holding it in that one spot but then when i plugged the player in, the computer wouldnt recognize it... but it would still recharge. finally it stopped charging too and i was looking for a new usb cable. a few days ago i tried to turn it on and it showed me the "low battery" warning, now when i try and turn it on it does absolutly nothing. i guess my main question is, is the problem just the cable, or is the mp3 player junk?

I don't really understand your question (which you appear to have answered yourself). You have already tried another USB cable and can't get the player to sync or charge? If not, that is the very obvious thing to try first. Having to hold a cable in a fixed position to maintain electrical contact is an extrememly obvious indication of a cable problem. The charging pins and data pins on your USB cable are different, so it is possilbe to have contact on one and not the other. I know personally, I have a bunch of cables with regular USB on one end and mini USB on the other that work fine with my players. In fact, I've even given away several of these to my kids who have lost theirs. They are kind of like the short telephone cords they include with everything and I never need.

Headphone jack problem with Creative Zen Nomad XTra 3

My warranty expired a couple of months ago, so, naturally, all problems are showing up now.
Last night I noticed that my player is no longer deli'vering sound out of the right headphone. I've tried with several different headphones and a pair of external speakers so I've confirmed it's with the device and not the headphones. Since the device is not under warranty anymore, I can't find any information on getting repairs or support.
Any help out there?

I gathered that a lot of people have experienced headphone jack problems with their players, but I thought that was with the Micros only. I guess I'm glad I'm not the only one. Or maybe I'm not. I dunno.
Anyway, I sent an e-mail to customer support. My wife bought the unit for me for a Christmas present last year, so it's only a couple of months out of warranty. If nothing else, hopefully Creative will tell me how to ship it back for repairs at my own expense (it's gotta be cheaper than buying a new one).

first of all, i am german so my english isn't hte best...
i bought a creative ZEN 4GB. i installed all the stuff on the installation-cd restarted my system plugged the ZEN in my USB-Port WIN XP mentioned a new device and wanted to install an MTP device. i clicked on automatical search after some seconds windows found that mtp device but after two seconds a becam an error-message (it's in german: "ein dienstinstallationsabschnitt dieser INF datei ist ung?ltig"). so i can't communicate with my ZEN,i can't load music on it and so on.
do you have any idea how i can communicate with my PC and the ZEN ? please help me :-)
