Problems with Environement Preferences (locale)

Hello,
I'm starting to use Warehouse Builder Design Center, with the "User's Guide". After having created the repository, I launched the Design Center, and logged in without any problem.
I followed the steps and tried to adjust the client preferences, as suggested in the user's guide. I tried to alter the Environmemt Preferences, and changed the locale to my area (Portuguese - Portugal). The system asked to logout to accept the changes. Now I can not connect The system's message is "API5022: Cannot conect to the specified repository. Verify connection information."
Does anyone know what is the problem?
I thank you in advance for some help.
Ana Azevedo

I was able to resolve the problem.
Here is what I have done:
I search for file "Preference.properties". I oppened the document with NOTEPAD. I changed "LOCALE=pt_PT_EURO" for "LOCALE=en". I oppened the DESIGN CENTER. The application oppened witn an error ("Internal Error: SQL exception")... But the application started. Once there, I accessed the menu TOOLS/PREFERENCES, and changed the LOCALE under the Appearence prefences. I was asked to restart the Builde, which I did. And It works!
I tried Portuguese to, and it also works... so I think the problem is when you choose EURO.
Regards,
Ana

    1. Open Disk Utility and repair permissions
    2. Open Finder, press Option key, select Go > Library, open Preferences folder and delete com.apple.systempreferences.plist
    3. Go to System Preferences > Users and Groups, create an user and check if the issue appears
    4. Backup the data and press Command and R keys in boot. Open Disk Utility, select the drive, erase it and install Mountain Lion. When Mountain Lion asks for the backup, only move your user files

  • Weird Problem with Mouse Preferences

    I have a weird problem with my mouse preferences.
    When I open System Preferences - Keyboard & Mouse - Mouse, I can change the Double Click Speed as much as I want, it doesn't have any effect. No matter what the slider shows, the speed seems to be set to "slow" and stays like that. It's driving me mad, because I continuously open documents without wanting it. For example, when I click on a document and click a second time to change its name, it always opens. I'd have to wait VERY long before the second click to prevent that.
    I've already tried to connect another mouse, or to use another USB port. Also I've tried to trash the Preferences Cache in my Library. Without success.
    Anyone an idea what the problem is and how to solve it?
    Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    So I think now this is it
    weborican's post at macosxhints helped me to solve the problem, this time for good, as it seems:
    http://forums.macosxhints.com/showthread.php?p=336319
    The problem seems to be the Intel version of the driver for the MacAlly IceKey keyboard. I uninstalled the driver and now everything works as it should. So until Macally bring a new driver I will use the keyboard that came with the Mac Pro.
    who would think of the keyboard when the mouse seems to be the problem?

  • Problem with Edit Preferences in iTunes

    I am having problems with my iTunes, which keeps reverting to a default file on my laptop rather than the file on the NAS drive I want it to use as a reference point for all my music.  This is particularly strange as I have just changed my NAS drive from a Buffalo Linkstation mini to a Synology ds411j - and I didn't have this problem with the previous NAS unit..
    As a result, I am not able to synchronise music with my iPhone - and my family can't synchronise their devices either.  This is making me unpopular.  Can anyone help please.

    Thanks for your help. I have it seems a range of places where ITunes is looking.  The first is where it should be looking - it will only do this however when I locate the file manually.  Once I do locate this one file, it will go on to locate many of the other files:
    This is what it prefers - and as some of the music is in this location it will easily locate and play those files.
    These are other options it takes which don't work - e,g.
    where M is a mapped drive to the Diskstation location.  Both this mapped drive and the correct Diskstation location will show as //localhost/ and fail as a consequence.
    One other difference between the old NAS which worked and the new NAS is that the new NAS requires password confirmation when I manually locate the file.  Not sure whether this has an impact on iTunes' ability to locate the file automatically.

  • ILife '09 - problems with spotlight preferences after install

    +I also posted this over in the iLife forum, but had to post in the iPhoto topic because Apple doesn't have a general iLife topic. Posting again here because the issue is more directly related to spotlight, I just think iLife '09 install had something to do with it.+
    Installed iLife '09 on 3 machines yesterday and all are having issues with spotlight prefs. Here's a general idea:
    1) Installed iLife '09
    2) Forced reboot after install
    3) After reboot, spotlight shortcut (cmd+Space) still working. However getting into spotlight preferences often crashes the preferences pane. If the pref pane loads, spotlight preferences showing odd settings:
    http://i379.photobucket.com/albums/oo233/netnothing/Picture1.png
    Notice the missing items in the list as well as the missing shortcut keys for spotlight.
    4) After a second reboot....spotlight shortcut key no longer assigned. Going into spotlight prefs doesn't save the prefs. HAve to go into Keyboard & Mouse to reset and save the spotlight shortcut keys.
    5) Still have the issue of the missing items in the spotlight list.
    Looks as if something with installing iLife '09 has messed with spotlight preferences.
    Anyone else see this same behavior?
    I have tried:
    - permissions repair
    - verify disk
    - trash spotlight prefs
    None helped. Again, this EXACT thing happening on all 3 machines, so I think it's related to the iLife '09 install.

    I am looking to purchase a new macbook, are you saying, with the software included, I should immediately check for software updates for iLife 09, since it is stated on apple store that it will be included with my mac, in order to make sure spotlight words properly?

  • Problems with some preferences not showing

    I seem to have problem with Mac OS X Leopard system prefences, some settings like "Sound" and "Displays" don´t show anything, only blank page. I installed Leopard first without any language packs and only after that I installed the desired language so I´m guessing this is the root of the problem? I tried reinstalling the language pack but it did not change the situation.
    Is there any hacks to make those work? This is minor issue but still annoying. The machine is iMac G5 so PowerPC version of Leopard.

    You surely had to have one language pack present in order to install.  What is the desired language you added later?

  • Problem with environment variable settings

    I am using J2SDK1.4.1
    I have set the classpath variables and path variables properly.
    When I go to commandline c:\> and type the command "javac" I get a message as follows---
    Registry key 'Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment\CurrentVersion'
    has value '1.4', but '1.3' is required.
    Error: could not find java.dll
    Error: could not find Java 2 Runtime Environment.
    If I change directory to c:\j2sdk1.4.1\bin> and type javac c:\dir_name\filename.java then the file compiles but when I try to run the java file I get an error message "Exception in thread main no ClassDef Found".
    How do I compile and run my java files.

    Your registry has some information in it that is in conflict with the 1.4.1 installation. Search the forums, there are some strings that address this problem of version conflicts.

  • Problem with Printing Preferences Acrobat XI on Windows 7

    I just upgraded from Acrobat X Std to XI Pro on both my Windows 7 desktop and Windows 8 laptop.  The laptop works fine, but on the desktop I'm not able to print to the Adobe PDF printer from Word or Excel or Chrome.  I noticed that the Adobe PDF Printing Preferences do not display any options for Default Settings or Adobe PDF Security.  I did find the Standard.joboptions file in the C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings folder on both machines.  What could be the problem?

    No files appeared in C:\Users\Pavilion\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings but they did appear in Distiller.
    I tried to copied them from C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat\Settings, but found they were already there.  I copied them by adding -COPY before .joboptions in the name.  Now they appeared in  Printing Preferences with the -COPY added.
    I tested a print from Word (using File / Print), but was not prompted for the filename or location.  I checked my entire system and couldn't find the PDF file anywhere.  I tried changing the Port to Desktop\*.pdf using Printer Properties, but that didn't work either.
    I was able to successfully use the Acrobat menu item in Word & Excel to create a PDF but it automatically created the file on the Desktop without an option to change the filename.
    After several days and hours, I gave up and installed Acrobat X on the W7 computer.  I can still use Acrobat XI on the W8 computer.  So be it!
    Thanks anyway for your attempts to help.

  • Download problems with changing preferences

    I have just bought a macair i have tried to download software for my kodak printer but it wont allow it. Under security preference it wont allow me to change where i download from? Any help? It's just greyed out and set to only from mac and other supported...

    I am having the same issues,  I was told internet explorer 8 isnt' compatitlble so I down load the suggested Fire Fox, I get even less from this, the Akamai won't load, Akamai says they only send support to the business' supplying the product, ie..  Adobe, so I am now on hold once again with Adobe
    seriously, I had to problem downloading the Light room from a disc they sent but  this is a down load for photoshop CS4 straight from their website.
    I want my product that I paid for, this is freakin stupid in this day and age that this cant' be easier.

  • Problem with ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES in MS-DOS

    I have just installed JDK & J2EESDK under the directory C:\Program Files.
    I set my JAVA_HOME to C:\Program Files\jdkblahblah\bin
    and J2EE_HOME to C:\Program Files\j2eesdkblahblah\bin
    and CLASSPATH to %J2EE_HOME%\lib\j2ee.jar
    As you may have noticed there is a space in the directory "Program Files" and this has been giving me a lotta problems. When i try to run any batch files it doesn't recognise the classpath...Same thing happens when i try to run javac with the -classpath option.
    Even when i use full path names instead of env.variables it still has problems as it is assuming the latter part after the space(Files\j2ee..) and the one before the space(C:\Program) as two different paths....
    How do i fix this? I have a work-around but, I would like to know how to fix this thing...

    I guess that surrounding the path with quotes might help. You have windoze on your 'puter, haven't you. In case of Win2K, right click on "my computer", select "properties", select "special", and then "environment variables". There you may edit the PATH. I guess editing the classpath is also a must.
    Or, alternatively, uninstall java, and reinstall it in the root directory, without having white spaces in the path. Makes your life much easier...

  • Problem with occi::createEnvironment, No problem with Environment* env;

    My OS is Linux and I installed Oracle 10.2. Everything is fine.
    I can use sqlplus, exp, imp etc with no problem.
    Now I have created another linux user test in /home/test.
    I unzipped basic-10.2xxxxxx.zip (/home/test/instantclient_10_2) and exported LD_LIBRARY_PATH.
    I guess I have installed instant client in this way.
    My testOra.cpp:
    #include <occi.h>
    using namespace oracle::occi;
    int main()
    Environment* env = Environment::createEnvironment();
    //It compiles if I change the first line as follows:
    //Environment* env;
    return 0;
    This testOra.cpp would not compile.
    Error: undefined reference ...createEnvironment(...)
    It compiles if I change the first line as follows (not create).
    Environment* env;
    Would you please tell me what to do?

  • Newbie problems with getting a local CFB server configured

    This started out in another post by me as to what I thought was a port 8500 problem. I had watched the getting started with CFB video, and on that he used localhost as a Server Name and as Host Name. He then assigned port 8500 as the WebServer Port.
    When I do this it comes up in the Servers windows as Stopped. If I try to start it the error I get is
    'Starting localhost' has encountered a problem
    Ensure that the server is not already running or any application is not using the webserver port.
    So as an experiment I changed the port to 80 because the admin page does work at http://127.0.0.1/CFIDE/administrator/index.cfm
    The Server window at the bottom of the CFB screen then shows a Running server.
    I create a small "Hello World" index.cfm page and when I hit one of of the browser tabs, Firefox and IE in my case, I get the following error,
    Error while generating preview:
    There is no server configured for the project myproject to which the file index.cfm belongs. Configure a server in ColdFusion in ColdFusion server settings before you proceed.
    What am I missing ?
    Thanks,
    Dennis

    You need to tell CFB what server CFB should use in order to preview the file.
    So you need to associate a server with this Project. To do so, right click on Project -> Properties -> ColdFusion Server Settings.
    Here from the dropdown of 'Servers' select the server that you added in CFB.
    Once that is done, ensure that your project is in document root of the server which in your case could be the Inetpub\wwwroot.
    Once this is done the preview should work.

    G'day all,
    I'm totally confused :(
    I've set my environment detail but when I use javac the command window just does nothing. The cursor (or flashing thingo) drops to the line below and just hangs there. If i manually type in the entire path javac works fine.

    I can do javac d:\...*.java and it'll compile all of them fine but I am then unsure how to run it. I think what I do is do java openagil.classA but this pulls up errors - an "exception in thread' error followed by a "noclassdeffound: openagil/classA" then a whole bunch of URL/Access Controller stuff.

I think it would be java -cp d:\java openagil.classAFYI class naming convention is to start with a capital letter - YourMainClass for example. It may help to go here [http://java.sun.com/javase/6/docs/technotes/tools/index.html] and go to General Information, then click on How Classes Are Found.
