Problems with Folio Producer

Ok, I'm having a couple of different problems and can't find much out there on how to fix them. Any tips would be much appreciated.
1. My photos show up extremely pixelated. I use the same photo in multiple places in the folio, and sometimes it is crystal clear but majority not.
2. I have buttons that take you to different states, and the landscape view they work just fine, but in portrait they do not work at all. I am using buttons and states together to get around animation, and some just plain wont' work while the exact same function will work on another part of the page no matter how many times I reset the function.
I am just producing a folio that I push from the Folio Builder in Indesign to the Content viewer on my iPad - I do not export anything to the Viewer Builder as I have a very simple publication I am just testing.
Thank you very very much!

  • Problem with Folio Producer Tools

We've updated our Folio Builder and Folio Producer last June 19, 2012 when the new version was released. After the update, the folio we created is not compatible with the app. Then we followed the steps on the link:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/digital-publishing-suite/kb/please-update-app-download-folio.html
"With InDesign CS5/CS5.5, you may need to revert to a previous set of Folio Producer tools to be compatible with an older custom viewer. Uninstall the Folio Producer tools, and then download and install the appropriate version."
After reverting to a previous set of folio producer tools, we also recreated the same folio we were trying to publish and the same problem came up. Any ideas on how to work around this problem?

Are you sure you're now on the older tools? (Check the Folio Builder panel's ID#s prior to logging in.)
Once you are on the correct, older version, re-bundling (updating) each of the articles with this toolset will usually resolve this problem.

  • Problem with Folio Builder - added articles are "spinning"

    Hello,
today we are experiencing strange problems with Folio Builder. We are adding new artcles to folio created today and all added articles have same issue - spinning wheel in folio builder. Such articles we can't see in Content viewer until we delete existing folio.
    Thanks for help

    Hi,
Could be that there was a network problem when uploading the InDesign documents.
Try to select the articles and delete them with the trashcan. And then reupload the documents from InDesign.
    Good luck!

  • Problems with Folio Builder Pannel. I can´t start session

I´m having trouble with the folio builder pannel, i´m triying to start a new session using my password but i can´t, it says "Error de inicio de sesión [svr.InvalidLogin]", help me please.
    Thanks

It sounds like an old password has been captured in the auto-login settings and is preventing you from entering the current, correct password. To remove the captured password, so the following:
    1) Quit InDesign and any other CS apps
    2) Use the Activity Monitor to quit the CS5ServiceManager or CS5.5Service Manager
    3) Next delete this file based on version:
    /Users/lnegi/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CS5ServiceManager/preference/csxs2.pref
    /Users/lnegi/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CS5.5ServiceManager/preference/csxs2.pref
    4) Then remove this item from the Keychain Access based on version:
    Adobe-CS-5-renga
    Adobe-CS-5.5-renga
    To remove from the keychain:
Navigate to /Applications/Utilities and launch the Keychain Access.app
If the lock icon in the upper left appears locked, click on it and enter your password to unlock it.
Select the “login” item in the Keychains list in the top left.
Select “Passwords” from the category list.
Type “renga” in the search field in the top right.
Select any matches and press the delete key.

  • Problem with Folio Builder sign in

I'm working on Indesign CS6 and I've updated my DPS desktop tools, in their version 29.0.0, but the Folio Builder don't let me sign in. What can be the problem? Thanks

After several hours (4+) trying every combination described here and elsewhere, what ultimately worked was uninstalling ALL Adobe software and starting from scratch.
    1.  Uninstall any and all Adobe software:
    Adobe AIR
    Adobe Flash
    DPS App Builder
    Adobe Creative Cloud
    Adobe InDesign
    Adobe Photoshop
    Adobe Illustrator
    Previous downloads of installers
    Etc.
    2.  Clear all system and user caches, preferences, bootcaches, kextcache, etc.and reboot (whether necessary or not; just for good measure).
    3.  Run the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to confirm everything was removed.
    4.  Reboot (whether necessary or not; just for good measure).
    5.  Confirm no Adobe affiliated process is running in the Activity Monitor (or Task/Process Viewer in Windows).
    6.  Download a new clean installer for Adobe Creative Cloud.
    7.  Cross fingers.
    8.  Install Adobe InDesign.
    9.  Reboot (again, just because).
    10.  Install Adobe InDesign updates (which should download the necessary DPS tools too).
After all this, the Folio Builder finally appeared and began working again for my computer.

  • Deliver ePub with iTunes Producer strange error.

I have a validated epub file, but when I try to deliver with iTunes Producer to iBookstore, I get the following error: "com.apple.transporter.util.StreamUtil.readBytes(Ljava/io/InputStream;)[B"
    Can someone help me out?

Thanks Valcolm, but it doesn't appear to be a problem with "iTunes Producer" since apps are submitted through "Application Loader" (another tool that comes with XCode)
I've been trying to update another of my apps, but I have the same error message "com.apple.transporter.util.StreamUtil.readBytes(Ljava/io/InputStream;)[B" and Google can't help me with this... I'll wait for Apple (I asked them via iTunes Connect, as soon as I have an answer I'll post it here)

And dont work any more with cs5.5? I am ok that adobe dont support anymore but then why compel to upgrade to continue working in cs5.5. Let the old version working in an old version of cs. Now we are ending first quarter of course and we cant continue with class. Its a big problem.

  • Still problems with uploading articles in folio builder

    Hello,
Read much information on this forum but i still don't have a solution for my problem. And here is my problem.
I had a course how to create a digital publication. So went back to work and try to do the same as what i did at the course.
Installed InDesign CS5.5 and the last folio producer tools en folio panel. Than I create a folio via the folio panel en voila it was created. So far so good.
Than I try to add an article to this newly created folio but for some reason I can't get it in the folio and I got this message
An error has occured while updating article layouts. The InDesign file for the layout cannot be found. (Than in Dutch because I have a Dutch version)
So what I already tried is the following:
    - use another Adobe-ID to log in the folio panel (no succes)
    - uninstalled the publishing parts en reinstalled again the newest parts (no succes)
    - create article via import (also no succes)
    - create a local folio and than add a article (no succes)
    - Also locate the InDesign file on another location (no succes)
When i create the article the spinner keeps on turning. When I than login to the digitalpublishing.adobe.com with the same adobe-id I see the article with a red frame around it. Which says "Corrupt layout"
Than I send the InDesign file of an article to someone else and he can upload this file without any problems. And I am sure I have all rights/permissions which I should have.
Is it possible that you can have problems with uploading articles because of network settings or combinations with other software?
Has somebody a solution for this really frustrating problem?

    Hi pbremmer!
Are you using Mac och PC?
    /Henrik

  • Folio Producer Installation Problems

    Hi,
I've been trying to install the Digital Publishing Suite's Folio Producer for InDesign CS5 on my Mac running OS X 10.7 (Lion). However, each time I have tried the installer has claimed to be 'Initialising Installer', which eventually the progress bar suggests it has finished, and then disappeared with no progress. The Adobe Application Manager itself has not quit, but no window is open and the application has frozen.
I have tried to patch the Adobe Application Manager, but this is even less of a success - an error appears ("Installer failed to initialise. Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem."). I have followed its advice, but the Adobe Support Advisor does not recognise any issues. Adobe's online support suggests that I uninstall the failed product using its uninstallers and cleaners, but none of them actually give me the option to uninstall the Adobe Application Manager individually, and I would much rather not have to uninstall and reinstall the entire Creative Suite because of the AAM's problems if there is another solution.
    Thanks!
    Zac

I have the same problem (as explained at length in this thread), with the Folio Builder 1.1.2 update using InDesign CS5 under Windows XP. I can even sign in to CS Live services within InDesign, but opening the Folio Builder panel then produces the same error that you're getting.
The only workaround is to uninstall DPS and then re-install it step by step, stopping after the second patch. Do not install the latest Folio Builder because it does not work under Windows, as far as I can see.

  • Folio Producer tools and problems after updating to 1.1.2

Folio Producer tools for digital publishing suite has been updated to 1.1.2. Donot log in with a message. "An error has occurred while communicating with the server. Could not test Folio Builder and server compatibility. Please check your network connection and try logging into the panel again." Message that pops up.Work environment is Windows 7, Adobe InDesign 5.
1.1.1 version did not have any problems after the update, the problem occurred.
I wonder what has to be resolved.
During the following posts in the same case shows the problem has beenresolved with the people saw a wonder.

  • Viewing Folios with DPS Folio Producer and Adobe Content Viewer on IPad?

What is the path to viewing a folio, on an IPad, that has been published with the DPS Folio Producer.
Opening Adobe Content Viewer on IPad has no obvious path to the folio in the Producer.
There is no obvious path to the library in Adobe Content Viewer, either?
Logged in both with Adobe I.D.
    Using ID CS6 on Windows.
Also as a Creative Cloud single member what is the process of being able to publish unlimited apps to the IPad.
Thank you in advance for your response.
    James Goins

Unfortunately, if you're on Windows you have no process to publish an
    app. You need a Mac.
I wish Adobe would allow Creative Cloud members to use the same process
that Pro and Enterprise subscribers have by exporting a zip file. You
still need a Mac but you can pretty much use any Mac you have access to.
With Creative Cloud to publish a Single Edition app, you must have
InDesign installed on a Mac and you generate the app by choosing create
app from the folio builder panel menu.
All that said, if you create a folio while signed into the folio builder
panel, that folio should show up in Adobe Content Viewer as long as
    you're properly signed into it.

  • Folio download problem with Android app

I still have a problem with the app. It's ok with the certificate now and ok on google play store.
The app was updated on two android tablets and when I try to download an issue which was uploaded a few months ago with v30 DPS tools, the app can't download it because I need to upgrade the app.
The first one was build with v25 tools, is this something with the certificate.
    Yves

What version number shows in the about dialog of your application? You can get to the about dialog from the "..." or hardware menu button on your device while in the library view. Select "About".
Also, can you send me a private message with the adobe ID that you're using to publish your folios?

  • Problem with V25 folio with V26 Android Viewers

    Hello,
I have just recently created and publish a folio  built with V25 tools and Indesign CS 5.5.  The folio works fine on Android v25 apps.  Everything work as I would expect.
On an Adobe Content Viewer or App updated to V26 on Android Nexus 7 tablet one of the pages the with a 5 stage multistate object just displays a blank screen and does not render the content.  No interaction is apparent to be working.  You can move off the page and when you return to it still is white.
On the iPad side of things the same layout works 100% fine.
Anyone experience this type of problem with the V26 tools on Android?

AFAIK you cannot mix and match like that.
One solution would be to move the horizontal layouts into the vertical layout file along with the rest but that still may cause problems.
