Problems with Hyper-V machine management

Hello i am having a problem with my server 2008 hyper-v server. I have 2 virtual server on the hyperv, one is SBS2008 virtual server and the other is terminal server. ive had power failure a couple of days ago and from then i cant set anything on my VMs...My
VMs actually work when i restart the host server but then i cant do anything accept turning off the machine. The host server is in a domain of the sbs2008.
When i click settings on the machine i just get an error:
Cannot access the settings for the selected virtual machine.

The computer 'localhost' failed to perform the requested operation.
I checked event viewer and i got this error:
Event ID: 14050
Source: Hyper-V-VMMS
Failed to register service principal name.
I tried restarting the host server it didnt helped. For my TS server i created a new VM and on that vm everything works normal, but i cant delete the old VM because i got the same error as mentioned above. Did somebody had the same problem?

First I would suggest you to check if the DNS setting is correct (it should be the DC's IP address)
Then please try to use Local Administraotr account to log in hyper-v host then try to delete that VM .

This looks like a memory issue, similar problems have been posted on this forum before.
Change the following params.
-XX:PermSize=2048m
-XX:MaxPermSize=2048m

HT201250 Unexpected problem with Mac time machine!

Hi every one!
I'm having an unexpected problem with my time machine! the moment I hook up the back up drive my Mac crashes and the only thing I can do is to force restart. I'm not sure if the problem is with the back up disk or the Time Machine itself. I've successfully used the app since now and this just happens! I can neither access the disk in finder nor fix it by disk utility... would you please help me?
PS. the disk is encrypted, I doubt that might be causing the problem?!

Launch the Console application by entering the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Enter the name of the crashed process in the “Filter” text field. Post the messages from the time of the last crash, if any -- the text, please, not a screenshot.
Then, still in the Console window, look under User Diagnostic Reports for crash logs related to the process. Select the most recent one and post the contents -- again, not a screenshot. For privacy’s sake, I suggest you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)

I have a problem with Adobe ColdFusion Server Manager when you log on and connect to the server. An advantage of the settings do not load.

the Errors View button display’s the yellow ! sign. Without a better guide I just thought that is a normal button icon until I noticed Charlie comment earlier in the thread and I thought hold up that is not normal.
As it is when I press Errors View I get “no error” which might be because there is none or just simply not giving meaningful details as per some other CF Server Manager limitations previously noticed in other threads on forum here.
I just hope some of that helps the original post to do with the display of the settings on left side. Maybe a better look at the error might help? Does anything get logged in CFadmin UI > Debugging & Logging > Log Files that relates to issue?

You can lose your ability to backup through TM for any number of reasons, but the most common is what happens after a update. If your drive still works, your best approach is to read this:

I encountered a problem with some client machines that use Firefox version 24ESR and IE8.
Ajax requests of aspx pages from Firefox are getting the following error from the iis server (iis version 7.5):
Bad Request - Request Too Long
HTTP Error 400. The size of the request headers is too long.
From analyzing the request that was sent to the server, I saw that the request consist of only the viewstate of the aspx page.
I tried to disable the viewstate for one page and the server got the request correctly.
I do not encounter any issues on these laptops with postback requests from Firefox or when running the same application with IE8.

Sometimes that means that the page address sent is loo long.
Check the link address you are using.

Problem with Drag and drop manager

I am noticing that the sample provided at

So my understanding is that there seems to be some problem with the drag and drop manager in Flex when used on Firefox on a Mac OS version 10.6.3.
It will be very helpful if you can provide any work around for this issue. We want to implement the drag and drop feature in a website that we are building for one of our clients.

Currently, the Rights Management ES Extensions for Microsoft Office plugin is only supported on English, French, Geman and Japanese versions of Office.

Problem with images in content management portlet

Hi all,
I'm trying to use the content management portlet provided with Bea WLP 8.1 SP4, but I've a problem with the images (they're not displayed at all, only a lot of red "X"s). Some how it seems to be a problem with the Taglib render. It tries to get the resourceRootPath to post it in front of the src path in the image tag and it always includes the parameter that are in the URL.
I followed the instructions in the help of workshop, so I think I've imported every needed files. Moreover, the images are in the right folder tree. The wired thing is, that the My Content Portlet works fine.
Any help for a newbie???

I was having that same problem, and I couldn't find anything on this website either. I tried creating a new portal project and following the directions exactly again, but it didn't work there either. It works in the sample portal.
So I contacted BEA Support, and they were able to provide me with a solution:
The file url-template-config.xml (in the WEB-INF directory) has to be modified and have the {url:currentPage} parameter removed in order to get the images working for the content management portlet. For now, do this only in the section . Leave the other places like in WSRP etc as it is.
I actually took it out of the WSRP places too, by accident, but I don't use WSRP anyway, and everything else seems to be working fine. And the images show up!

Problem with Hyper v console

I have a Hyper v setup in which the VMs are not listed in the Hyper v manager console. If I right click the server and start service it lists all the servers. ( this issue happens very frequently.)
I can see the start up type of Hyper V Virtual machine Management, RPC and WMI services as "automatic".
2nd case, if i restarted any of the server through remote (when VMs are not listed in cosole) the server is not coming up. And if i start the console, suddenly the VM status showing as starting ( not saved \stopped\paused state )and will come up in minutes.

I don't know about the environment or if VMM is in the picture here.
However, you should check the host to ensure it is compliant, and dive into the logs for further analysis.
My best bet right now, is that there's some anti virus software on the host that causes this behavior.

Problems with integrating YUI Layout Manager with APEX

Hello,
I have a problem about the YUI Layout Manager and APEX.

But with Internet Explorer the page is damaged.

I think this couldn`t be a big problem, becaus in FF it works correctly, but I don`t get the point to run that in IE7.

It's a Qosmio X300-16M (windows 7 64bit)
I downloaded the last toshiba's sound driver (for win 7 64bit), but it's as if it doesn't contain MaxxAudio anymore... (but the file maxxaudio.dll is still in realtek directory)
It worked correctly after Windows 7 update, (that's why I tried to reinstall the audio drivers which were in the DVD... but it does not have resolved the problem.)
And all my system restore's points have been lost after a wrong bios update or something else (but this isn't a problem anymore)
Now, my computer works correctly, my only problem is that the MaxxAudio tab (from Waves Audio) in the realtek audio manager disappeared... (It just makes a better sound...)
And I just want to know if it's a curent problem or not... and if someone can fix it

Hi, i am fairly new to MS virtualisation. So far it has been relatively a great experience bar two problems. One of which was to do with backing up a VM.
i have Window 2008 R2 on I7 CPU with 8GB of memory. Intel Pro/1000 GT NIC and Realtek PCI GBE embedded network interface.
Using export command from hyperv manager was not only exteremly slow. With no progress bar to feed back to the user it was difficult to guess what was going. So i cancel it and then rebooted the system. Unfortunately i lost the whole VM as the files were
corrupted. Fortunately majority of the stuff on it are retrievable. Still i would have been better if this could have been avoided.
With this in mind can i make a few suggestion.
* Back up process should provide some form of feed back to the user. Bearing in mind these are lengthy ops. It should indicate whether it is working correctly or not.
* User should be able to cancel the backup operation at any point without corrupting the VM files. Specially in the case of hyper-v manager command where it requires guest OS to be down.
Hope this helps. 2008 R2 is really a great O/S.

I am running server 2012 Hyper-V and I have 2 hosts with each hosting 4 virtual servers, I have no cluster, each host runs their own virtual server and stored locally. Everything is running 100% except one virtual machine that has started with the following
problem recently: Every Friday at the same time the virtual server switches off, I have gone through all log files and event logs and most of the time I get unexpected error? what I have noticed that in the Hyper-V console status bar it appears
as a status "backing up" then it shuts down. I have removed "Volume shadow copy" from both the virtual server and the host on the specific drive where the VM is stored and this is the first Friday it did not Shutdown? I am not sure
if the problem has been resolved but still I am in the dark as to why the status says backing up? what is it thats backs up? and why will the server shut down?
Any Idea?

Problems with TCS3, Adobe Application Manager, and Acrobat X

I have to deploy Technical Communications Suite 3 to a group of 20 people with a volume license key. In order to avoid giving 20 people in the company a volume key, I'm using the Adobe Application Manager to build a distributable silent installer for this delivery. The problem is that when you use the Adobe Application Manager to create the build, Adobe Acrobat Professional X (which is part of the package) is not an installable option, nor is it actually installed as seen in the attached screenshot
However, if I just launch the installer by double-clicking Set-up.exe from the downloaded media directory, I do get the option to add Acrobat X.
Finally, if I drill into the installation media folder, "...\Adobe Technical Communication Suite 3\payloads\AcrobatProfessional10.0-EFG" there is a .msi which is for Acrobat X, but when launched, the product key I was provided for Technical Communications Suite 3 does not work. The key works just fine to install the entire suite, but not Acrobat X by itself.
Has anyone else had any luck creating a silent install for TCS3? I called support and reproduced the problem for them, but they had no answer.
Just for the record, I have found this exact same behavior with all the Adobe Suites which are supposed to get Acrobat.

This is true that Adobe Application Manager Enterprise Edition currently does not support silently deploying Acrobat alongwith TCS3. However, you do not need a separate license key for Acrobat.
Pls follow the below mentioned steps to silently install TCS 3 with Acrobat:
1) Uninstall TCS3 (including Acrobat) from your machine, if already present. Make sure all products are uninstalled succesfully.
2) Create a serialized package for TCS 3 using the AAMEE tool
3) Run the silent installation command for TCS3
4) Goto the Exceptions folder inside the TCS 3 package and open ExceptionInfo.txt. This has information of all the products that this package will not install. Look for the command to install Acrobat X Pro. For your reference, I am mentioning it here,
msiexec.exe /i AcroPro.msi EULA_ACCEPT=NO REGISTRATION_SUPPRESS=YES SUITEMODE=1 TRANSFORMS=en_US.mst INSTALLLEVEL=101 AS_DISABLE_LEGACY_COLOR=1 IGNOREAAM=1 /qn
5) Install Acrobat silently using this command
6) Launch any product installed through TCS ( FrameMaker or RoboHelp) and verify that its activated (Help->Deactivate menu should be enabled)
7) Now launch Acrobat. You will see that Acrobat automatically picks up TCS 3 license present in the machine and gets serialized. You do not need any other serial number.
