Problems with iMovie '06 and iTunes, too!

I've got the exact same problem as the guy right below. I've imported a song into iMovie that I bought in the iTunes store. But when I try to run my footage, I get a message telling me the song is not authorized to play on my computer (even though it plays just fine when I click on it in iTunes). I'm given multiple chances to authorize the song by inputting my password, but it never convinces the gatekeeper to let my music work.
Actually, sometimes I am allowed to hear the music in my video, but it never makes it to DVD.
Help! I'm on a deadline with this project!

When you download songs off itunes the files are locked, protecting them from editting in garageband, ect. I would just burn the song onto a CD and reimport them into itunes.

after installing 10.5.6 I have problems with Mail, Safari and iTunes.
The time to open mails, websides and iTunes store is increasing dramatically since the update. If I open a webside parallel with Safari and Firefox, Safari needs minimum 15 times longer to open the complete side. Mails containing HTML-code also needs a long time to be opened. Tha same Problem with iTunes store. Connecting to the Store costs at least 30 - 40 seconds. And unfortunately for every iTunes store side I open. Its terrible
Any idea or workaroung to solve that problem?

First, run Disk Utility and repair permissions and then restart.
I installed the 10.5.6 Combo update. Sometimes things get "lost in the translation" when you use Software Update depending on your installation. Perhaps you can download 10.5.6 Combo from the website and install it from your desktop.

Hi has anyone had a problem with windows 7n and Itunes...My Itunes was working now wont open says files missing reinstall...which I have done several times also other programs that were working now have error message your side by side configuration isnt correct any ideas!!!

Yes, I am also having trouble with my windows 7n. I tried to install the download but it didn't have 32 bit for my computer and I don't think it will help me see my phone on my external devices. I can't transfer my photos. Any help would be appreciated.

Problems with windows 7 and itunes

I purchased a new computer which now has windows 7, I am having a problem with iTunes sync my iPod. I have installed iTunes 3 different times and it still wont sync my iPod touch. I have the first version of the iPod touch, I am out of solutions on what to do I don't want to have to lose all my music, pics and apps.. Any suggestions on what to do and how to fix this problem thank you!

Have you tried transferring all of your purchases?
To do this, plug in your iPod with iTunes open. (if it starts to sync, let it). Once it's done syncing, keep your iPod plugged in. Go to "File" at the top of iTunes and find "Transfer Purchases from iPod". Click that. It should start transferring everything from your iPod into iTunes. Once it's done transferring, sync your iPod again (just to be safe). Once it's done syncing, unplus your iPod and check each tab on the navigation bar to see if your stuff has transferred and synced (For example, if you transferred music, click the "Music" tab on the left navigation bar, for apps, click "Apps", etc.)
This worked for me when I couldn't figure out why my stuff wasn't transferring from my iPhone to iTunes by just syncing. I have to transfer purchases every time I download a new app, song, book, etc. Hope this helps!

Compatability Problem with Album Art and iTunes in Vista?

Hi there,
I have album art for all of my music which I have added myself. (I prefer to do so instead of iTunes doing it for me.) However, after purchasing a new computer using Vista, I've encountered a problem.
When I drag and drop my music into iTunes, only about half of the album art shows up. The rest either isn't loaded or isn't identified by iTunes, even though I know it's there.
In fact, you can see the album art icon associated with each file when it's organized in its folder on my C: drive. But again, for some reason, much of it isn't loading when I open the files into iTunes.
I never had this problem using XP. Is it a compatability issue or is there a simple fix I'm unaware of? I'd really appreciate any help!!

Alright, my apologies, Chris. I don't think I explained myself clearly enough. The files are embedded with the music (these are the same music files that worked just fine in XP.)
The artwork isn't separate from the actual music file. When you click on the actual music file, you see the ICON associated with the file, and it's the artwork. I suppose that's just a new Vista feature.
However, I embedded all of the album covers myself, and again, they worked just fine in iTunes with XP. But for some reason, only about half of the album art is being recognized by iTunes even though it's embedded into the actual tag.

I am problems with Apple TV and iTunes streaming

When streaming a movie via AirPlay to my Apple TV 2 from iTunes on my mac the Apple TV keeps either loosing the homesharing or just stops playing and goes back to the main menu. It does it weather sending from the mac to Apple TV or pulling from Apple TV and the same via Ethernet or wifi. Wifi begins streaming quickly but Ethernet can take ages befor streaming begins.
I can use airplay on my iPad fine to watch movies off of the mac and also to send to the Apple TV. Plex works great when using the mac as a server. i stream the movie from the plex server via the plex app on the iPad and then sending to Apple TV via AirPlay.
The problem only seems to be with the Apple TV/ iTunes combo.

I'm having a problem with the registry and iTunes.

Vista stopped seeing my DVD/CD drive the other day, so I went to the registry and deleted the high and low pass filters for the drive. This fixed that problem.
Only problem now was that none of my programs would see the drive, so I had to reinstall all my burning software and such... except that iTunes, after reinstalling it 5 times, still will not see my drive.
Any ideas or help? Thanks.

The advanced adjustments in the Highlights & Shadows tool were combined into the "Mid Contrast" slider in Aperture 3.3 and later. If you have any images in your library that were processed in a version of Aperture before 3.3, there will be an Upgrade button in the Highlights & Shadows tool in the upper right, and the controls you asked about under the Advanced section. Clicking the Upgrade button will re-render the photo using the new version of Highlights & Shadows, and the Advanced section will be replaced with the new Mid Contrast slider. With the new version from 3.3 you probably don't need the Advanced slider, but if you want to use the older version you can download it from this page:

I have the old iPhone 16gb and it has now been upgraded to 2.0.1 but since the update the installer is gone and now its the Apps store i have to use... But everytime I try downloading from the apps store it says "your account is only valid for purchases in the Danish iTunes store" how come????? My friends have iPhones and they havent had the same troubles as me So what could the problem be??? Please help me..

If it is second hand, try putting it in recovery mode, and restoring it with itunes on a mac or pc.

Problems with IOS 6 and ITunes

I now have the album cover photo for Gloria Estefan as the wallpaper for my IPhone 5. This was not deliberate. Even after going back to settings and resetting the photo for both lock screen and home screen, I still end up with Gloria.

So I was looking at another discussion about not being able to get into the App Store and tried this:
Settings>Privacy>Location Services>System Services (swipe to the bottom of the page to find this)>Location Based iAds>Off.
Was able to get iTunes to open up and show music/movies, etc... Went back in and put Location Based iAds back on and still able to get into iTunes. Not sure if this was the probelm or if iTunes was done (for whatever reason) over the weekend.

Problems with security settings and itunes updates! What do I do?

So I preordered a cd that became available today. When I went to download it, a message came up saying that I need to download the latest version of itunes (7.-[can't remember the last part]but anyways) so I clicked on the upgrade icon. I then got a message saying "your current security settings do not allow this." No matter what I do with my security settings I keep getting this same message! I have windows xp, please help I would really really like to be able to download and listen to the cd I've paid for! Thank you in advance!

Maybe you aren't on an admin account in Windows? If not, create/logon to one and install it.
Or maybe you just need to go to the website and download it instead of updating through iTunes. Go here:

Problems with purchased songs and iTunes 7.0.1

For some odd reason, I can't transfer purchased songs onto my ipod. They appear to be transferred, but I can't play them nor can I open them within iTunes. Is this an authorization issue? Has anyone had a similar problem?

Problem with Apple TV1 and iTunes 11.x

Since updating my computer to iTunes 11.x, my Apple TV1 no longer lets me transfer my computer iTunes content to the disk on my Apple TV1. I can stream TV shows that I have recorded to the Apple TV1 for playing (I guess in the way later versions of the Apple TV work) but can't do this for iTunes rented movies - the rented movies don't show up as shared content on the Apple TV1 menu.
Any suggestions?

Recording Problem with Windows 8 and Itunes 11

I have Windows 8 on my HP G72-B60US laptop. I also have downloaded Itunes 11, I cannot burn music to a disc. Any help would be appreciated.

Sync it the same way any other iDevice would be synced on any other version of iTunes running on Windows or a Mac.
Plug it in.
Select the content desired to sync.
