Problems with installing 32 bit app in 64 bit environment
I have 64 bit ArchLinux installation and I'm trying to install IBM SPSS Statistics v20, but I get an error:
Installer User Interface Mode Not Supported
The installer cannot run in this UI mode. To specify the interface mode, use the -i command-line option, followed by the UI mode identifier. The valid UI modes identifiers are GUI, Console, and Silent.
What can I do about it? Ubuntu solution on forums suggest that installing ia64-libs should solve the problem, but we don't have such package. Also, doing everything in the wiki for 32 bit apps doesn't help either.

First, please check the suggestion above is helpful. I also suggest you removing all version of Office and re-install Office 2013.
We can try to run the application as an administrator and check if it works.
1. Right click the shortcut of the application or the main application.
2. Select properties.
3. Select compatibility tab and select "Run this program as an administrator."

Problem with installing Microsoft Apps on Nokia e7
Hey Guys
I have a nokia E7 with Belle update , previously I had the Microsoft apps installed on my phone and for some reasons I had to do a full format and restore of my phone. My phone restore was only SMS and contacts.
Then I tried installing the Microsoft apps again and after the installer file downloads , it ask me if it can download a 21 MB file , so I press yes and then it says " the connection was lost , canceling the installation "
I am sure my network connections are OK, all the other applications download and install perfectly and I have tried it over 3G and Wifi. To be sure I did factory reset and it did not work.
even when it creates an icon for smart installer , the same thing happens.

Have a horrid feeling that your formatting mass memory has achieved same result as "hard reset" especially if you can't access Nokia Store upon device. Nokia Care facility can re-install software completely including eMMC content which truly returns device to "Out of box" state.
Have you tried "Googling" for "Microsoft Apps 2.01 (5616)"?
You will need to install Pixi enablers first, if I remember it correctly.

Problems with installing my app on Qtek (Windows CE)

I've made an application which works like a charm on all Nokias and Sony Ericsson mobiles that I've tested it on. From older ones to new ones like Nokia N95 and Sony Ericsson P1, but when I try to install it on a QTEK phone it doesnt work. The QTEK phone is on a Windows CE system. The error message just tells me that the .JAR file isn't valid. Any ideas of why this is? Do i need to compile it in some other way or something to get it to work for Windows mobiles? Try downloading the trial. It ought to detect that you have a 64-bit system.
You aren't using Vista, are you? PSE 13 requires at least win 7 and I think a few folks with vista have gotten a similar error message on trying to install it. -

1. Message appears telling me that the drivers of the display has been restored crash.

I have a few questions for clarification I would like to ask about your first two issues:
1) Can you copy the contents of this message and respond back with them. Any error codes or direct quotation from the system can really help in diagnosing a problem.
2) Does this only apply to the TrackPad, or does this behavior also occur with an external mouse? It may help to download the latest mouse drivers for your system, which can be found here.
As for your last issue with the Lenovo service not being compatible with the system: Unfortunately, software for these applications has not been released for Windows 8. Windows has its own network settings that you can use to connect to the Internet and networks, so that is still possible, though you may not enjoy it as much as Lenovo's program.

Problems with installing Xcode through App Store
Hey guys,
So trying to install Xcode on my Late 12 Macbook Pro with the ML update for a project with work.
Everytime I try to install through the app store, I get the Grey Screen of Death. Anyone else having this problem or what could it be? I've had no other problems with installing programs through the App Store.
I am currently downloading through the developer portal, so hopefully that works.

Problem with installing CUCM on MCS-7816-I5
Hi to all.
I have a problem with installing CUCM 8.6.1 on new MCS-7816-I5 (IBM) hardware. The problem is that installation loops in restart after upgrading MCS firmware. Actualy, installation does not sucessfully upgrade firmware, so every time it detects old firmware and trying to upgrade it.
I also tried update MCS firmware with downloaded Firmware Update Utility 3.6.5 CD from Cisco downloads, but it also fails.
Does anyone have idea what's going on? Is this a Cisco failure or IBM server failure?

Refresh upgrade stops with IMM device detection, and then server being reported as unsupported
Conditions:
in-band USB interface was disabled, which is configurable via IBM system X or IMM (browser) interfaces.

change the in-band usb interface settings to enabled.

Strange problem with the mail app on an iPad
I've got a bit of a strange problem with the mail app on an iPad - it's sending and receiving mail ok but won't let you delete mail. If you keep at it, it appears as if you have deleted mail (though takes a very long time as you just have to keep deleting it over and over again) - but the size of the app still keeps going up - reached 600mb so far, even though there is hardly any mail or attachments (goes up quite a lot each time you try to delete anything) - any idea what's causing this and how I can fix it?
It occasionally comes up with a dialogue panel saying to check my account settings, but I have checked those and they are fine. The little 'loading' icon just keeps spinning constantly too.go to Settings > Mail > your account > Advanced > Move Discarded Messages Into
and make sure that Deleted Mailbox is ticked, and not Archive Mailbox
You can also adjust how long the deleted mail stays in the trash immediately below that.
If you are talking about a gmail account, you may also have to login to your account on the gmail server and update the settings there. This is what Barney previously posted about that: -
Is anyone else experiencing problems with the Music App/listening to music via earphones?
I am experiencing problems with the music app. It randomly stops producing sound when I'm listening to music. Also, I hear a popping noise when ever I walk with my phone in my pocket while listening with earbuds/earphones. I'm thinking it's because iOS 7 is still glitchy. Hopefully the next update corrects the issues I am having.
I don't have those problems with my iPhone 5. It almost sounds like your headset isn't fully plugged in and you might be getting static from the cord rubbing against your clothing. If you are generating a static charge, it is possible that static is being interpreted by the control channel (the volume buttons, or the play/pause button inline in the headset) as commands. Does this happen with every headset, or just the one you are using now?
I use my iPhone 5 fairly heavily with the wired headset, and even a good bit with a Motorola S10HD bluetooth headset. I don't have the static issues with either, nor do I have problems with volume dropouts.
You might want to set an appointment with your local Apple Genius Bar to have them take a look. If it is just the headset, they should replace it on the spot. If it is more severe and a hardware issue with your specific iPhone 5s, they should be able to help you too. -

I have a problem with installing or uninstalling apps on 808. When i try to install an application through Nokia suite or when trying to run the application file from the phone's memory the screen freezes and becomes unresponsive but the 3 phone buttons work just fine. I have to shut down the phone and the screen becomes responsive again. Anything available to help me wiith this situations as I cannot use any of the apps I have. Any help much appreciated.

AlexYou are not alone. Im also having the same issue because we do alot of install and uninstall apps. This is the bad point of symbian. But I tired to install the latest FP2 it will be slightly abit smoother now. So you have the latest version now but did you tired to restore any backup yet? It might be the setting on when you restore that affect it. The feezing should be shorten on FP2 but it will still remain there depending on the type of apps from what I experience.
I hope they will provide multiple function to uninstall apps since it will go through a long process to uninstall apps 1 by 1.
Reason is because some apps will go through process like preparing install, process install, finalising install which take away your control for that few seconds or a minute instead runnning in background mode. Its not convenient to uninstall more apps. -

Try downloading another app - any free app is fine. See if that resets the other apps and allows them to work again.

Problem with a few apps - A few Apps Greyed out

I have an iPAD 2 (64 Gig no 3G). I have the below problem with 4-5 apps
- The App does not show up in any of the home screens
- Search does not show the Apps
- Search for the specific App in App Store shows that the App is installed, but there is no way i can delete these Apps from my iPAD or use them
- There was an update for one of the above missing Apps, but the update button was greyed out in the App Store.
I want to use a few of the above Apps, but there is no way i can either use them or delete them.
Any help is resolving the above is highly appreciated.

At last i resolved the problem ... To be franck ... it was not a problem to begin with. We forgot about some restrictions that we had set and the Apps that were missing were newspaper and music apps that were not sutable as per the rules that were set and so not showing up.
